What Albums Are You Listening To?

Found these guys while browsing YouTube and I must admit that they play some decent music.

It's supposed to have some rap in it and given how I hate rap I have to say that it's barely noticeable with the addition of some nice music patterns.

I would recommend listening to Kinfe Called Lust and This Love, This Hate for starters since those two are the ones that got me hooked onto this band.

Frightened Rabbit and MGMT, both two great bands.

Words cannot describe how right you are on that first call. The Midnight Organ Fight is one of the best albums I've heard in a long time by far.

I've been listening to fair bit of new releases recently.

The Cribs - Ignore The Ignorant = pretty poor

Thrice - Beggars = pretty good

Noah & The Whale - First Days Of Spring = pretty ace

Arctic Monkeys - Humbug = pretty poor

Also been enjoying

Brand New - The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me

Sigur Ros - (The latest one, I'm not even trying to spell it)

M83 - Saturdays = Youth

Lately, I've been listening to Halestorm fro some reason. And yes, it was "Get Off" hat drew me into it. :p

Radio FTL.

Anywho... my favorite song on their self-titled album has to be Dirty Work.

If there was ever a song I'd wish to have in Guitar Hero...

So today I've been listening to...

Paramore - Brand New Eyes

http://www.one21music.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/paramore-brand-new-eyes-300x300.jpg

Its a little moodier than Riot, but that doesn't necessarily mean its a bad album, infact, its a very decent record, I give it a hearty 8/10.

Teamkiller - Bad Signs - 7/10

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/410PTR7XWNL._SL500_AA240_.jpg

Agressive hardcore from somewhere in Deutschland, nothing amazingly outstanding on the album, but its OK, it gets 6.5/10.

Death Before Dishonor - Better Ways To Die

http://www.mad-tourbooking.de/img/news/DBD.jpg

Well, I must say it, I think this is by far the best album DB4D have ever released, theres a lot of new flavour on there, melodies, little clean sections, and theres still old flavour in there too, fast grooves, dutty breakdowns and a lot of "WHOA"s. Being the fanboy I am, I shall give it a well deserved 10/10

Madonna - Ray Of Light

http://medias.jiwa.fm/album/300/96915.jpg

IMO Madonna's best work (nothing beats Vogue though haha), and also IMO, the ninth track "Frozen" is the best song in her 25+ years career, I can't really name a song I don't like, so Ray of Light gets 9/10.

Yes, my music taste is warped...

I'm enjoying this thread, more album reviews are in order. A couple I've been listening to this week

Deadmau5 - For Lack Of A Better Name

http://www.urb.com/uploads/reviews/cd_reviews/Deadmau5_For_Lack_Of_A_Better_Name_Ultra_Records.jpg

Saw that one of you guys I'm friends with on Last FM was listening to this a lot so I thought I'd give it a go. Really good, upbeat dance music, great beats. Hard to listen to as a whole album, gets a bit boring all in one sitting. Probably the best new dance act around though. 7/10

Mumford & Sons - Sigh No More

http://www.thisisfakediy.co.uk/images/uploads/sighnomore300.jpg

Something very different from Deadmau5, a folky bluegrass kind of band. Not something that happens often, the best way to describe them is Noah And The Whale without the clichéd lyrics of heartbreak. Very epic and even danceable in places, really enjoying this record. 9/10

I rarely listen to complete albums, since I've never heard an album that I liked entirely. There's always a few songs I don't like, and for me this is true for all artists. So most often it's a mix of various artists and various genre's with songs i like.

The only album I still listen to and of which I like almost all the songs is Pearl Jam's Ten.

I've been listening to the jam since I was young and still like there songs. Basically this album has all the jams best songs. A couple of favorites are Going underground and A Town called Malice.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCgM4YF72SI]YouTube - The Jam - Town Called Malice[/ame]

I also like listening to Green onions by Bucker T. and the MG's, I've got it on LP and it's scratched to bits but still a good song.

I started kicking back with the three albums by the death metal act Anata, some progressive rock/metal from Evergrey (their older stuff is the shiznite!) and listening to some old school death metal with Gorguts: Considered Dead. Been playing that last one since yesterday, never did listen to it.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CVF0GZg7wYQ]YouTube - Anata - "Entropy Within" Earache Records[/ame]

off Anata's last album Under A Stone Inscription I believe...Not quite sure off hand. Crap quality.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5mGKM3txpY]YouTube - Gorguts- With Their Flesh, He'll Create[/ame]

Couldn't find anything off their debut that I've been listening to but this is pretty close, just a little faster is all.

First of all thanks you Younikorn for posting about the new album by The Almost, love them way more then Underoath and complete forgot they even had a new album coming out, the tracks I've heard so far are pretty solid.

Anyways I've really been digging Matthew Good's new album "Vancouverhttp://blaremagazine.files.wordpress.com/2009/09/matthew-good-vancouver.jpg

This is hands down my favourite album of '09 thus far. It's got this weird vulnerability to it. You can really tell all the shit Matthew Good has gone through over these last few years (read up on it, typical life stuff, he pretty much hit rock bottom and now he's back better then ever) and it's almost endearing that he gives you a little bit of an indirect personal glimpse. The music itself is a fusion of rock with indie and some elements of acoustic/soft rock. 10 tracks with 55 minutes of music, can't remember the last time I bought an album that was almost an hour long. 10/10 without a doubt.

The entire album is on youtube so I suggest checking out the tracks

"Last Parade"

"The Boy Who Could Explode"

"Great Whales of The Sea" (this track is comprised of whale noises through out....amazing!)

"Volcanoes"

"Fought to Fight it"
