Introduction

This DLC is extremely easy for those who completed Dead Space 3 already on Pure Survival and have the Devil Horns. If not, it's a little more trouble but still very doable. Think of it as an optional mission from the main game. It is divided into 3 chapters and must be started by selecting "play downloaded content". You should pick Pure Survival mode first so that you can get everything in one playthrough, as this DLC requires you to play on Pure Survival for an achievement. You can use the Devil Horns to make it easier if you have them (must see roadmap for original guide for more info). Straight forward and pretty short, you should have this down without trouble.

Step 1: Play the 3 Chapters on Pure Survival

Start up your Pure Survival save file. If you don't have one, you'll have to create one (if you completed Dead Space 3). If you haven't completed a playthrough on Dead Space 3, you will have to do so before playing this on this mode. If yo have beaten classic mode you will have the MKII tips. Go to a bench and put one on a random weapon. Then play through and you'll get to a Cult Leader. Kill him then reload your checkpoint. The second time you see him on the ground, walk to the elevator an leave. You will then eventually get to the reactor which you must destroy within the 90 seconds. It's very easy, just check the achievement description. If you don't get it you can always reload your checkpoint or replay that chapter. The only other thing you should need to think about is inviting someone in for Co Op for the next step.

Step 2: Online Achievement

Invite someone in as long as you have the Online Pass that came with your purchase (if it was new). If not you'll have to buy it so that a partner can join you. You have to stasis them when they are downed. This can be done from enemies or self created explosions from weapons you may have. This is the only online achievement. If you want, you can keep playing together to finish the mission. It does make the reactor part pretty easy.

Conclusion

Some may think this was too easy. Being straight forward, short, and a good addition to the story is a welcome to anyone who loves easy achievements on a good game.

Devil Horns: To play using this on Pure Survival, you will need to delete your cache and play offline so that you get the blueprints on your save file. Afterwards you can update and start playing online again.

WARNING ABOUT COLLECTIBLES:

If you start this game on any of your save files and have not yet obtained the achievement for collecting everything, the collectibles from the DLC will be implemented as well. This means you would have to then also collect all parts, logs, etc in the DLC as well as the main game. Try to complete the game and get all collectibles before doing this DLC.

Complete Dead Space™ 3 Awakened in Pure Survival Mode.

Story related, can't be missed.

Start your game and choose the file you have "Pure Survival" on. If you have not played Pure Survival you will have to start a new save with that mode enabled. Choose Solo Campaign and then choose to play downloaded content.

I would highly suggest you play through the game on Pure Survival first so that you can benefit from your upgrades and weapons. Everything carries over. If you have the Devil Horns be prepared for an extremely easy playthrough. Check through the regular guide's roadmap to see more info about the Devil Horns.

Awakened: Craft a weapon using a MK-II Weapon Tip.

If you have beat Dead Space 3 in Classic Mode, you will obtain MK-II tips. This could be your first achievement. All you have to do is go to a bench and apply it to any weapon it's available on (upper or lower tip).

If you have not beat Dead Space 3, you will not be able to obtain this in Pure Survival Mode. You will have to play the game on normal mode. There are 2 doors you need a torque bar for, so make sure you have the resources to make at least 1. The second room requiring the torque bar has a tip in it.

Awakened: Stasis your Co-Op partner when he is downed to slow his bleed out timer.

This must be done in Co-Op Mode. When your partner gets downed, use stasis on him/her. To do this, hold :ltbut: to aim at your partner, then press :ybut: to stasis (as long as you have energy). This is the only achievement in the game that requires a second person to be in your game online.

To find someone to help with the achievement, please visit the Achievement Trading Thread found HERE. Make sure you mention if you just want the achievement or if you also want to play through the whole mission.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2367/UPrGB80=.jpgSupercharger 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Awakened: Finish charging the reactor in under 90 seconds.

You will activate zero gravity and see a reactor in the middle. It starts spinning. This is similar to the drill from the main game in which you must use stasis to slow it down, and then destroy the middle parts. There are valves you can spin on the side to release a type of bomb. Release it and stasis the reactor. Now kinesis and throw the bomb when the the reactor part is showing (the weak point in the middle). This will release a portion of the bottom to rise up and you must shoot it. If you are quick you only have to do this twice. Having a second person can help make this a lot faster.

If you miss this, you can reload your checkpoint or later on revisit this area quicker by using chapter select and selecting Chapter A3.

If this is too early to post, let me know and I can delete it.

But for the Unitologist Cult Leader, can you choose one option, get the achievement, and then save and quit to get the other one?

Yes, you can get it by reloading your last checkpoint.

Might want to make it clear in the guide that it's the guy on his hands and knees after the boss fight as there isn't a specific prompt to allow him to live or die. You either shoot him or walk past him. If you choose to walk past him True Believer will unlock when you reach and activate the elevator in the room just behind him. Sounds obvious but it might save a question, or an entire thread.

You can also reload from your last checkpoint for the Supercharger achievement. If the achievement doesn't unlock a few seconds after you've finished charging the reactor, simply save and load your last checkpoint and you'll start right back in the reactor room.

You don't even need to save and quit. Just reload checkpoint and you will only have to replay a few minutes of the game to get back to that point. EDIT: Ninja'd by Walter

Also worth noting, neither choice has an effect on the story/ending. Whether you kill him or not, you will just continue the DLC as if nothing happened either way. Neither character even comments on it.

@Tyger: For 'Just The Tip', if people have finished Classic mode, they can use a MK II tip from the part set that is rewarded for completing it and get the achievement at the first bench. If they haven't got that set yet, there should be a MK II tip in the last torque bar room in the DLC.

Thanks guys, got it all covered and appreciate you confirming it. I had not reloaded checkpoint the opposite way and got Super Charger my first run so did not reload there.

Was extremely easy with Devil Horns, if anyone who did not have Devil Horns has an opinion on how difficult it was, let me know. I stand at a 1/10 with Devil Horns. If I didn't have them, I could assume it would be more like a 5/10?

ColdSpider: Can you confirm what chapter the last torque bar room is? Is it in A2 or A3?

Yay, I am forever immortalized in an X360A achievement guide! The picture with the double Devi's Horns is pretty badass.

For time to unlock all achievements, I would go with 2-3 hours with the Devil's Horns and something like 4-5 hours without them. Though, I am curious how much harder it is when you can't blast your way through everything.

Also, I think you have the pictures backwards for True Believer and Heretic.

Yeah it was a really good angle (kind of dark but oh well). I think we got it all done in a short period of time. Anyone else want to chime in and say how long it took you without the Devil Horns? I know it will likely be double. Maybe Co Op makes it go faster too

Hey Tyger I know you already directing people to your original guide about the Devil Horns trick for Pure Survival run but wouldn't it be easier to just put/include this:

...in your Roadmap here!?

Hmm, I wonder if they somehow fixed it? Didn't seem like that was possible. So you deleted your cache and played offline until you got to a bench, and then it should have said they Devil Horns were put in your safe. I really hope they didn't fix it, otherwise it's going to really increase the difficulty.

Yeah I'm going crazy right now. I did unlocked the DEVIL HORNS for sure. I can use them in any other mode except Pure Survival (Hardcore). Trying everything OFFLINE now. Starting with a NEW GAME+ and get the notification for unlocking this and that but as soon as I get to the first bench...NOTHING.

Well the guys who got it to work obviously did it before the DLC. That's why I have problems. I did my Pure Survival (Hardcore) runs without the Devil Horns and now I'm trying to get this to work only for the DLC.

Pure Survival and Hardcore are two different types. Are you playing on the same exact same file for Pure Survival?

I did it all before the DLC came out. I don't know why they wouldn't be in Pure Survival, as I did them there as well. Maybe you can run though it with someone who has Devil Horns to avoid having to keep attempting and wasting time?

I tried it on my finished Pure Survival file and I tried it on a New Game+ new Pure Survival save file. No luck. I already posted in the other thread if some could please post a STEP BY STEP method.

Anywayz, really appreciate your concern Tyger. Will do/try it without them. If you guys can rush through it in 1-2h then I will maybe manage it in 3-4h hehe.

Thanks again!

Thanks but I already found one COOP partner and I gotta say:

Overview:

-Estimated achievement difficulty: 1/10 (With Devil Horns) 5/10 (Without)

This is a well-certified difficulty rating if you play it WITHOUT THE DH, even in Coop. Got kicked in the ass MANY TIMES! It's just fucking hard.

I add a timecode for better Visibilty the 90sec Timer.

You can use it or not, its your choose ;)

I get a message Today on TA that the Achievements

Gun Collector

Collect all Weapon Parts.

The Professor

Collect all Artifacts.

The Librarian

Collect all Logs.

The Armorer

Collect all Circuits.

Are "broken" with DLC. When you not have 100% at Maingame and you start the DLC, you must collect the Collectibles too in the DLC for this 4 Achievements!

When you have 100% and the Achievements and start then the DLC, all fine. The Collectibles are indifferent.

Of Base this Information, i create today a Collectiblesvid for the DLC and add this to my Collectibles Guide here.

I can't get the Devil's Horns to appear on my save, did anyone figure this out yet?

I figured this out. I had a back-up of my Normal playthrough, Classic playthrough, and Hardcore playthrough on a USB drive. Not my Pure Survival playthrough, unfortunately. I deleted the DLC and loaded up the game. Selected my Classic playthrough from the USB. On that save file I started a new game + in Pure Survival. Played up to the first bench, had my Devil's Horns there. Started the DLC there and had my Devil's Horns there as well.
