Overview:

-Estimated achievement difficulty: 6/10

-Offline: 47 (1000)

-Online: 0

-Approximate amount of time to 1000g: 15-25 hours

-Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 2

-Number of missable achievements: None!

-Glitched achievements: Yes, read the introduction for more info

-Do cheat codes disable achievements?: Yes!

At the end of the day this is a fairly easy game with a few moments of massive frustration sprinkled in. Each playthrough only takes about 9 hours and that's if you're going slow and collecting holocrons.

Introduction

Welcome to Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. This game has a total of 47 achievements and requires two playthroughs to get 1000G. The reason for the two playthroughs is that the Sith Master difficulty does not unlock until you beat the game on a lower difficulty. Of the achievements, 11 are unlocked simply by playing through the story. The remaining 36 achievements will require you to kill a certain number of enemies, kill enemies with certain force powers and collect Jedi Holocrons.

There is currently a major glitch in this game that will block you from getting the "Holocron Collector" and all of the "kill X number of enemies with a force power" achievements. Although the reason for glitch is not 100% known it seems to happen when people change costumes or lightsaber crystals. After the glitch the game no longer tracks your kills or holocrons collected. For more information on this glitch check out this thread. EDIT: There is a now an update that fixes this glitch. It stops it from happening and allows those that had it to load up their old saves.

Although cheats disable your ability to gain achievements there is a way to use them to max out all your characters stats and still get the points. Information on how to do this can be found HERE. It is completely up to you whether or not to use this information. If you're going to use it it's only really needed when playing on Sith Master difficulty.

Step #1: Apprentice Playthrough

Although it's not required I recommend you play your first playthrough on the apprentice difficulty. I say this because if you play on a harder difficulty you’re just making more work since the achievements for difficulty are stackable. Use this play through the prologue to get as many achievements as you can. Refer to the achievement guide for the two spawn locations. If you’re having trouble with any of the bosses or major enemies, there is a strategy thread HERE. Also, as you go through this playthrough make sure you collect all of the Jedi Holocrons. The locations of all the holocrons can be found HERE. It is recommended that you complete all of the combat modules and training room lessons on your apprentice playthrough. These modules and lessons are scaled to the difficulty setting you are currently using. This means that trying to complete these on Sith Master will only cause you unnecessary frustration. Last, make sure you take note of which ending (dark or light) you complete. Personally I did the dark ending on my apprentice playthrough. A discussion of which ending is harder is found HERE.

Step #2: Sith Master Playthrough

Now that you have beaten the game on apprentice, the Sith Master difficulty should be available to you. Start a new game for this playthrough. If you continue an old save you will NOT get the achievement. Use the suggestions in the achievement guide and HERE or HERE to help you progress through this difficulty. Again look at the boss/major enemy strategy guide linked above for issues with those encounters. Before you finish this playthrough make sure you choose the ending opposite of your apprentice playthrough (i.e. if you went dark, go light this time).

Step #3: Mop Up

Now that you have gotten all of the difficulty, ending and holocron achievements the only thing left to do is get the “kill X enemies this way” achievements. Use the achievement guide to walk you through this process. Remember the prologue is only available once per new game, so if you need to play it over and over simply start a new game and save over the previous game (don’t save over your completed Apprentice or Sith Master saves). Also, if you want to use either your Apprentice save of Sith Master save to go for some achievements feel free to adjust the difficulty setting as you see fit. It will not reset any stats and is safe to do now that you don't care about the difficulty achievements.

Conclusion

Wrapping this up, I just want to say that this game should not be too hard for anyone to get 1000 gs. Although there are times where you will yell at your television, I did, you’ll get through it in a fairly short amount of time.

Thanks for help with this guide goes to ThrawnOmega, Killing Shadows and the rest of the x360a community.

********WARNING: THIS GUIDE CONTAINS LOADS OF SPOILERS. IF YOU DON’T WANT TO RUIN THE STORY READ NO FURTHER********

NOTE #1: This game requires a minimum of two playthroughs to complete. Sith Master unlocks after you beat the game on any of the lower difficulties.

NOTE #2: Currently there is a major glitch in the game that prevents you from getting the Holocron and killing with specific force powers achievements. For more info on the glitch click HERE.

NOTE #3: For this guide I will be referring to the main character, Vader’s apprentice, as Starkiller.

NOTE #4: Game stats and upgrades DO NOT carry over from save to save. Meaning that if you have 499 saber throw kills on one save getting one on another save will not unlock the achievement. Also kills made in the training room and combat modules DO NOT count towards achievements either.

Complete Game - Apprentice difficulty. Do not change the difficulty after the game has started.

This is the easiest difficulty in the game and as such is best suited for your first playthrough. This is also the difficulty that is best for getting the achievements for killing enemies with specific force powers and collecting Holocrons.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/442/UP3NYZc=.jpgSith Warrior 100G

Complete Game - Sith Warrior difficulty. Do not change the difficulty after the game has started.

This is the second easiest difficulty in the game. This setting is available as soon as you begin the game. Since the difficulty achievements are stackable, there is really no reason to play the game on this setting other than for fun.

Complete Game - Sith Lord difficulty. Do not change the difficulty after the game has started.

This is the second most difficult setting in the game. This setting is available as soon as you begin the game. Since the difficulty achievements are stackable, there is really no reason to play the game on this setting other than for fun.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/442/UPxSheM=.jpgSith Master 100G

Complete Game - Sith Master difficulty. Do not change the difficulty after the game has started.

Sith Master will unlock after you beat the game for the first time on any difficulty level. The difficulty achievements are stackable as well. This means that if you beat the game on Sith Master, you’ll get credit for beating it on Sith Lord, Sith Warrior and Apprentice. Last, you MUST begin a new game in order to get credit for beating the game at a higher difficulty. The reason for this is that when you continue the game you don’t play the prologue and thus don’t complete the entire game on that higher difficulty setting.

Overall, the Sith Master difficulty is not too difficult if you follow these tips:

- Don’t use this playthrough to try and collect all the Holocrons, use the Apprentice playthrough for that. Only collect the ones that will benefit your character and fighting style.

- Force lightning is your best weapon. It allows you to do damage from a distance and thus stay away from your attackers.

- Force Grip can also be handy, especially if there is a cliff nearby. Throwing enemies off cliffs is an automatic kill and also gives you a “long way down” bonus.

- Be patient! Charging into battle like you’re on apprentice difficulty is a good way to get yourself killed.

- You don’t have to fight every enemy. Many parts of each level allow you to simply skip major battles. The three rancor battle on Felucia is a good example of this.

- Force Repulse usually opens doorways better than force push. This is especially useful in the beginning of the Death Star level.

- X IUHoosierFan has started a thread that discusses boss strategies. It can be found by clicking HERE.

Just to reiterate, when going from one difficulty to another, your talents, powers and combos WILL NOT carry over. You need to start a brand new game, hence the aforementioned collecting only holocrons which you really need.

Defeat 100 enemies with Force Push

This force power is used by pressing and/or holding :bbut:. This power is available as soon as you start the game. For all of the “kill X amount of enemies with a certain force power or combo” achievements, the best place to get them is on the prologue as Darth Vader. There are two spots that you can use that have a lot of enemies that spawn.

- The first is right after you force push open the huge gate. An unlimited number of stormtroopers will spawn behind you after you pass through the gate. You just have to be sure that you do not have the camera facing the spawn point. I prefer this point since the spawns truly are unlimited and there's no way to accidentally stop them. If you’re still confused, more information on the spot can be found by clicking HERE.

- The second spot is after you see a TIE Fighter crash into a bridge. If you cross the next bridge, wookiees will continue to spawn and you can kill them as you see fit. If you’re still confused, more information on the spot can be found by clicking HERE.

It’s also important to note that you CANNOT die in the prologue so don’t worry about your health. Also, you can only play the prologue if you start a new game. The only two powers that Darth Vader doesn’t have are lightning and lightning shield. Those must be done as Starkiller.

Defeat 100 enemies with a grapple move

This force combo can be used by pressing :abut:+:xbut: or :bbut:+:ybut: in close range of the target. However, you must first go to “Force Upgrades” and purchase one or all of the following combos: sith flurry, sith punt or sith throw. Alternately and a little easier, Darth Vader can also grapple by pressing :ybut: to force choke them. You’ll need to kill 100 enemies this way for the achievement. Refer to “Pushed” for locations of easy kills using Vader in the prologue.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/442/UP4-qa0=.jpgLaunched 20G

Defeat 100 enemies with Aerial Ambush juggle combos

For this achievement it is easiest to kill the 100 enemies with a leaping slam. To do this jump up into the air with :abut: and then hold the :xbut: button. You will see "leaping slam" in the corner if done correctly. You can use Vader or Starkiller to get this achievement.

Defeat 100 enemies with Force Lightning

This force power is used by simply pressing and/or holding :ybut:. This power unlocks for Starkiller after completing the TIE Factory level. This achievement must be done with Starkiller. If after you’ve beaten the game this still hasn’t unlocked replay the TIE Factory over and over until it does. The reason the TIE factory is recommended is most of the enemies on that level are weak. You’ll need to kill 100 enemies this way for the achievement.

Defeat 100 enemies with Lightning Shield

To use this power hold :ltbut:and then press and hold :ybut: until you stop charging and your power bar goes yellow. This power unlocks for Starkiller after level “Cloud City.” This achievement must be done with Starkiller. You must upgrade this power to at least level two because at level one lightning does not arc out from it. At levels two and three lightning will arc off of the shield and kill nearby enemies. Do not use your lightsaber for these kills. Again for this achievement I recommend replaying TIE factory on apprentice difficulty over and over until it unlocks. You’ll need to kill 100 enemies this way for the achievement.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/442/UPs3goc=.jpgPROXY Won't Be Happy 15G

Destroy 35 droids

When the game say “droids” it’s referring to the non-attacking R2-D2 style droids. A good rule of thumb is that if it’s attacking you then it doesn’t count towards the achievement. As you play through the game simply kill every one of these droids you see. If after beating the game you still don’t have this achievement there are several of these robots (usually 6) in the beginning of the TIE Factory level. You can simply replay the very beginning of this level over and over until you get it.

Defeat 150 Stormtroopers

If you are using the unlimited stormtrooper spawn point in the prologue (see “Pushed” for an explanation) for kills then this achievement should come very quick. Simply kill 150 and this achievement is yours. Of note, I still got this achievement over the course of one playthrough without using the unlimited spawn point.

Defeat 500 Imperials

If you are using the unlimited stormtrooper spawn point in the prologue (see “Pushed” for an explanation) for kills then this achievement should come very quick. Stormtroopers, imperial officers, purge troopers, etc. are all counted as “imperials.” Simply kill 500 and this achievement is yours. Of note, I still got this achievement over the course of one playthrough without using the unlimited spawn point.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/442/+6WFXg==.jpgBossk 15G

Defeat 200 Wookiees on Kashyyyk Prologue

This achievement can only be done in the Prologue. Although there are Wookieess on Imperial Kashyyyk, as the achievement description says it must be the prologue. You only get one chance at this per new game since you cannot replay the prologue once completed. Refer to the location referenced in “Pushed” and you should be able to kill well over 200 wookiees there.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/442/+kV9zQ==.jpgBully 15G

Defeat 25 Ugnaughts or Jawas

Jawas are the short, weak robed enemies. You will first encounter them on Raxus Prime. Ugnaughts are the ugly pig midgets you first encounter in the bar at cloud city. Simply kill 25 of any combination of the two for the achievement. This should come naturally over a playthrough.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/442/UPpOg9s=.jpgThe Bigger They Are 15G

Defeat 6 Rancors

Rancors are the giant two-legged beasts you encounter on Felucia. This achievement will come naturally if you kill every Rancor as you play through the game. You will fight four Rancors on your first play through Felucia and two Rancors on your second time through Imperial Felucia. Look at the boss strategy guide for tips on how to easily defeat these beasts. Of note, the Bull Rancor does not count towards this achievement.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/442/UP24e8U=.jpgThe Harder They Fall 15G

Defeat 10 AT-STs or AT-KTs

AT-STs or AT-KTs are the giant two-legged war machines owned by the Empire. This achievement will come naturally if you kill every AT-ST/AT-KT as you play through the game. If you still need more AT-STs/AT-KTs I found there is one you can beat over and over in the very beginning of the Death Star level.

Earn 600,000 Force Points on a single level

You gain force points by killing enemies with force powers and combos. Frenzies and varying your force power use will increase the bonuses for the amount of force points earned. For these achievements I recommend doing the TIE Factory because it’s quick and the enemies are easy. It took me only two full playthroughs on apprentice (including collecting Holocrons) to get this achievement. It’s best to do this after you beat the game since your character will be much more powerful. Also there are several areas of the level that have a lot of enemies which will allow you to get frenzy bonuses.

Frenzies occur when you kill multiple enemies in rapid succession. The frenzy begins after killing 3 enemies quickly and grows X1 for every subsequent enemy you kill after that. Getting hit by enemies will not stop the frenzy as long as you continue to kill enemies quickly. I was able to get this on the Prologue using Vader, however the beginning of the TIE Factory when the 8 stormtroopers rise up on the lift is another good spot.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/442/UP6mUGI=.jpgHolocron Collector 75G

Collect all Jedi holocrons in the game

Refer to Shadowmask's guide HERE, for all the holocron locations

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/442/+0Ngdg==.jpgCorellion Star 10G

Complete all bonus objectives on one level

You can do this on the TIE Factory level. The bonus objective of destroying 5 TIE fighters can be done when you enter the first open area of the level (with the spacecraft in the middle). You’ll see TIE fighters hanging on both sides of the room. Simply force grip these hanging fighters and destroy them. The other two objectives of collecting Holocrons and force points are really easy if you follow the guide and minimize lightsaber usage.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/442/+YSM6w==.jpgSith Training 20G

Complete all Training Room lessons

To get this, you must press and choose "Training Room". Then you will just need to complete following training lessons:

- Push Tutorial

- Lightsaber Flurry Tutorial

- Grip Tutorial

- Lightning Tutorial

- Force Repulse Tutorial

Thanks to mocca90 for the info.

It's important to note that these tutorials don't unlock until you unlock that power or purchase that particular combo.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/442/-cafgQ==.jpgSith Trials 20G

Complete all Training Room challenges and Combat Modules

Challenges unlock after completing the training tutorial for a Force skill. Combat modules unlock gradually as you progress through the game. You must have faced an enemy type in the game before they can be faced in a Combat Module, meaning this can't be unlocked until near the end of the game.

Some people have had trouble with the Force Push trial. Upgrading Push to the max helps a lot, and try to push stormtroopers into the explosive barrels whenever possible. Charging up the Force Push will deal more damage.

Thanks to ThrawnOmega for the info.

Last, it is recommended that you complete all of these on your apprentice playthrough. These modules and lessons are scaled to the difficulty setting you are currently using. This means that trying to complete these on Sith Master will only cause you unnecessary frustration.

If he's blocking your force push too much, get close and press :xbut:,:xbut:,:bbut:. Note that pushing the guard over the ledge does not kill him automatically.

Complete Level - Kashyyyk, act 2

This story related achievement is rewarded for completing the sixth level, Kashyyyk, as Starkiller. This level's boss is called "Ozzik Sturn," he's just a glorified AT-KT. When you get to the end of the level and have to disable the skyhook, BEFORE you remove any of the conductors kill all of the enemies around the base. Free the wookies in the cages to use as distractions. Make sure you don't use the damage increase holocron. Once all the enemies are dead, begin removing the conductors. After you remove the second one, Ozzik will spawn on the backside of the skyhook. Before you fight him, grab the damage increase holocron and then just unleash force lightning on him and he'll go down very fast. After defeating him, remove the rest of the conductors to complete the level.

Complete Level - Felucia, act 2

This story related achievement is rewarded for completing the seventh level, Imperial Felucia, as Starkiller. This level has two bosses, the "Bull Rancor" and "Maris Brood." For the bull rancor simply keep your distance and let him charge you. Avoid the charge and then use your lightsaber to hit him over and over until he rears back up. Don't use force lightning on him because it doesn't work. Also don't get too greedy when hitting him with your lightsaber. Last while your doing this Maris will be trying to hit you. Don't attack her because you cannot damage her yet. After the bull rancor is dead you fall in a pit to fight Maris. Click here for Maris Brood strategy.

Complete Level - Raxus Prime, act 2

This story related achievement is rewarded for completing the eighth level, Imperial Raxus Prime, as Starkiller. This level has one boss "Proxy/Darth Maul" and one action sequence that requires you to pull a star destroyer from the sky. Click here for Proxy/Darth Maul strategy. Complete Game - Dark Side

You receive these two achievements for completing the game as the Dark Side or the Light Side on any difficulty. The light side ending requires you to defeat the Emperor. The dark side ending requires you to beat the battle damaged Darth Vader. Once again click here for strategies on how to defeat either boss. See below for more detail on how to obtain these.

"After the cut scene where you are asked to help defeat the Emperor you are given a option to fight and defeat the emperor for the Light side ending, or go and slay the recently battle injured Darth Vader for the Dark side ending. To fight the battle injured Vader, jump off to the right of the platform that would lead to the Emperor shooting his lightning. Vader is on the right of the screen you will see a pretty small red glow from his lightsaber to show where he is, defeat him and enjoy the Dark side ending."

Thanks to Bl0ss0m for the info

NOTE: If you don't want to do two playthroughs of the entire game, you can replay the last level, Death Star, and simply do the ending opposite of the one you picked before.

Kill 12 Stormtroopers as Vader during the Prologue

Simply kill 12 Stormtroopers in the prologue level (the very first level) as Darth Vader. Once again the best place to do this is right after you force push open the giant gate and go through it. See "pushed" for clarification on this spot's location.

How do you start a new game and carry over all your powers.

I want to start my Sith Master playthrough, but I don't know how to do it properly.

Help?

Thanks.

I quoted the achievement guide, and I bolded your answers for you ;)

NOTE #4: Game stats and upgrades DO NOT carry over from save to save. Meaning that if you have 499 saber throw kills on one save getting one on another save will not unlock the achievement. Also kills made in the training room and combat modules DO NOT count towards achievements either.

It can be found by clicking HERE.

...and remember one important thing. When going from one difficulty to another, your skills WILL NOT carry over. You need to start a brand new game, hence the a fore mentioned collecting only holocrons which you really need.

Quick question about the Force grip and Lightning shield masteries.

On the Force Grip, do the kills count toward it for throwing them into more people? Do the kills count for throwing stuff at the people?

And the lightning shield, how the hell do I get kills with it XD

For force grip, there have been a couple threads asking this question and so far no one has had a definite answer. My theory, and it's just a theory, is that if you use force grip and kill an enemy and get a crush/slam/long way down bonus, it counts. But overall I'm not 100% sure. If anyone is sure please let us know.

As far as lightning shield, I'm not sure I can explain it any better than I did in the guide. Is there a specific question you have?

Well I just got the 100 mark on it and if I get to a save kill say...20 people kill myself and start over at that save, I think they will, will my kills carry over? With my force grip i threw some people around, died then threw the same people around and got the achievement, but I want to make sure before countless/pointless attempts at it.

I just want to add my 2 bits after going through the game:

1. Proxy won't be happy - I found a lot more droids on the death star. In one of the alcoves going through the laser, there are about 8 power droids (minifridge with legs), 4 Astromechs (R2-D2s), and 2 MSE-6 droids (small, mouse-like droids, impossible to slice).

2. Again, I'd like to reccomend the death star for Aerial ambush kills. Those smug shielded evo and flame troopers may block force powers, but on aerial ambush will take them down (first swing brings shield down).

I love how post get deleted in this thread and the other achievement guide gets bumped for this one. Its a good guide but the way this whole thing was handled was very poor. Lets see how long it takes for this to get DELETED

LOL... really? this guide is much better than the other one. Killing Shadows guide looks like it was just thrown together in a few minutes, no real detail into a 1000/1000 approach to the game. When i grab this game I will definatly be refering to this guide. Great job! you obviously put some REAL time and thought into this guide.

The point is that his guide was here first and it was stickey then they put this guide up and said we would have a choice to wich guide to use, then ppl started to complain and the posts got deleted and Killing Shadows got unstickey, so Killing Shadows stopped working on his guide because of what has happend and do you blame him for that I dont. Maybe if they did not delete all the post you would be able to see the whole story. Like I said this is a very good guide but the whole thing was handled very poorly.

And also, though it may have been thrown together, it was a completed work that was improving as all guides do. Tweaks and such forth.

Alright guys, here's the deal. First of all no one can simply "claim" a game's guide and say that their guide is the one the site is going to use. Anyone can write a guide and most of the time the best parts of each guide that are written for a game are taken to make the best guide possible. This is what happened here. You'll notice that I give partial credit for helping with the guide to ThrawnOmega and Killing Shadows. That is because I took the best parts of their guide and incorporated them into mine. When the other guide was unstickied it hadn't been updated in 5 days except for inserting a YouTube video that didn't work. For a game as big as TFU, the site needs a great guide to stay on top and that's what we're doing.

I ask that you please stop spamming this thread with posts that are not helpful to those that are trying to use it to get 1000 on the game. They are being deleted because they are pointless and, whether you intend them to or not, simply sound like whining. If you feel passionate enough about this situation then please propose a solution in the feedback section or in a PM to a mod/admin.

To those of you posting feedback, thank you. I will continue updating the guide with as much useful information as possible.

Well, I got all achievements except sith warrior, lord and master. I really don't want to play through it and get stuck on a boss for a week or so and never finish, mainly cause I rented the game :p Is it worth giving it a shot and if so what are some tips to speed it up? :/

The bosses aren't THAT hard on Sith Master. There will be frustrating times but, no offense, unless you really stink at the game, Sith Master shouldn't take too much longer than the apprentice playthrough. Here are some other things:

- Follow the tips I gave under Sith Master and for each level achievement

- Depending on your gaming morals, you can use the glitch which allows you to use cheat codes to max all your character's stats. I give a link in the road map's intro. This is will make things a lot easier

- Only collect holocrons you need since you already have the achievement. By this I mean ignore color crystals, costumes, and power crystals you won't use.

Hope this helps.

A VERY easy way to get the Legend achievement for 600,000 points is to complete tie factory with level 3 repulse and just use it on everyone and everything. I'm half way through the level, and have 1,198,428 points =D

Also, might want to mention that some training modules don't unlock until you actually purchase the combos in the upgrades section. I read the guide and I had to work it our for myself =P

Apart from that it's a great guide, i just have the 500 repulses and last two difficulties to do and i'm done.
