Solid Gally
Updated the guide with a lot of new stuff. Link to Kerotan video guide, link to Dog Tags video guide, correction on some cheevos, missables reordered etc. Keep up with the feedback, people! Thanks. On the Dog Tag video guide thread, I noticed that some people mentioned also wanting a text guide. Anyway, I found these FAQs earlier today (both done by a guy called 'Packing Heat' so credit to him). The soldier names appear to be incorrect but I think it's because the FAQ was done on an earlier version of MGS2. However aside from the names, the Dog Tag numbers and guard locations are accurate. TANKER: http://faqs.ign.com/articles/385/385195p1.html PLANT: http://www.gamefaqs.com/vita/643149-metal-gear-solid-hd-edition/faqs/16580 I have done the Tanker on every difficulty so far using this guide and am yet to find a mistake. I'm currently working on the Plant dogtags and Very Easy, Easy and Normal have all proved accurate also.

Dark Anaconda
I fucking love Hideo Kojima , but i wish it would be 1000G for each metal gear games...anyway i am really happy to play this Masterpiece in HD again and this time with Gamerscores in it. I have one question: do you get anything if you complete european extreme mode? Edited March 3, 2012 by Dark Anaconda
Solid Gally
I fucking love Hideo Kojima , but i wish it would be 1000G for each metal gear games...anyway i am really happy to play this Masterpiece in HD again and this time with Gamerscores in it. I have one question: do you get anything if you complete european extreme mode? For what I can tell, there are no bonuses at all for European Extreme mode. There are no achievements regarding European Extreme and the original versions of MGS2: Substance did not offer any specific bonuses for completing the game on that difficulty. The only real difference between 'normal' extreme and 'European' extreme is that it's game over upon discovery in the latter.
markyj
good guide man, helping me a lot, having hell of a tough time on snakes vr mission level 4 with the sniper and meryl, but im sure i will get it in the end. 1 question, how come this isn't in the achievements guide on the actual site so that we can mark them off, this would be perfect. well hope it does soon anyway, keep up good work man

Fox Hound JD
I've played the 4 main mgs games multiple times (didn't care much for peacewalker and acid sucked IMO) and i'm in love with MGS, always have been. I'll be going for most achievements, but i think to go for 1000 would give me a distaste for mgs. no matter how much you love something, you can get sick of it. starting mgs2 now. i'm excited because after mgs4 i actually like raiden now. used to fuckin hate that guy. Gregor Lenko
Further to your post, if anyone wants Dogtag text guides with the correct names, they can be found here: (They are more than likely the exact same guides as you have posted but with updated names) Tanker http://www.gamefaqs.com/xbox360/632696-metal-gear-solid-hd-collection/faqs/63356 Plant http://www.gamefaqs.com/xbox360/632696-metal-gear-solid-hd-collection/faqs/63365 If anyone wants an excel checklist, I have put one together using the info from the above guides. https://www.dropbox.com/s/9kjypss45yxpaq4/MGS%20Dogtags%20TA.xls I have sent a PM to Andrey re this info so please don't think I am treading on anyones toes! Kailon791
A heads up to anyone working on the 30 neck snaps and melee knockout kills for MGS2; kills done this way in VR missions DO count toward the achievement as thats where I unlocked mine. So if you dont wanna do it during the campaign, its easy to get by loading up an easy VR mission and farming kills.

Iggysparks
I don't see how this could possibly done in 40-50 hours as the VR missions took me 40-50 hours lol. Anyway thanks for the guide!
