Introduction

Welcome to the Achievement Guide/Road Map for obtaining 200http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/g-icon.gif on The Revenants: Corridor of Souls. This title was released for Windows Phone 7 October 18th, 2010 so it has been around for a while now.

This game is fairly easy once you get the hang of a few features and the timing of creating vortexes down. In The Revenants Corridor of Souls you take control of a spark of light. Your goal is to progress through each corridor (or room) and eliminate all the souls in the room by creating a vortex around the enemies which sucks them into the center and eliminates them. Once you have removed all the souls from a room you pass into the next one until you get to a final room with no door way out. After you beat this final room you start the process over. This means as long as you stay alive you can complete the score requirements for each difficulty no matter how many times you pass through each room.

Before you get started playing I will mention that this game does support leaderboards for your Xbox Live friends that also have this game on Windows Phone 7. The Revenants features an Achievement section to track which achievements you have and which you still need. Also, in the Help & Options menu, there are options to change volume on Sound Effects and Music. The option of Snap To Finger is available but I found it easier to turn that On. Snap to Finger means that, when On, your character on screen follows your finger exactly as you move it and stays under your finger. With this option being off that character does not stay under your finger but moves as your finger moves across the screen. What you may want to do first is set the sensitivity in the game higher as well.

Step 1: Scores on Each Difficulty (Easy, Medium, Hard)

Run through the game starting on easy and working your way up. Any time you die, just hit the Windows home button. Now launch the game again and you'll be at the start of that room. Circle around quickly, tracing the room with your finger. You get a second or two of safety as enemies spawn, so you must be quick and lucky. If you have the light in the vortex, you are safe from harm. Keep going and you should get a good portion of the achievements through these 3 play throughs.

Step 2: Mop Up

Now you just need to go through and grab any of the achievements you missed. See the guide for more details on each specific one. Some will require a bit of luck and patience. You can do this on any difficulty, though Easy is suggested. Medium and Hard mode seem to stock way too many enemies to focus on any small vortexes.

Conclusion

This game has a simple concept and runs quite well. Because of the ability to exit out and relaunch your game, you'll be able to play this in short bursts instead of trying to reach the high scores in one sitting. This should make it a convienent mobile game.

NOTE: EASY TACTIC TO MAKE LIFE SIMPLE!

There is a method you can use, which is very similar the Xbox 'Dashboarding' on the 360, that allows you to beat the game on any mode without losing a life. This means that the difficulty achievements are now nothing to worry about. The way it works is this: start a game on any mode you want to do and play through. Any time that you die simply press the Windows button on your phone to go exit, or 'dashboard', your game. Load the game back up and press "Continue Game" and your game will reload with the last room you got to as well as all the lives you had up to that room. Even your score is maintained! This eliminates any worry about dying and not getting the points you need for the achievements. YAY!

Capture a frog with its tongue fully extended.

This can be done on any difficulty but just stick with Easy. Frogs are one of the enemies you have to purge from the rooms. Their pattern is they hop once then extend their tongues. Then they turn and hop again and so on. Wait until only frogs are in the room as it is easy to judge where they will go and you can avoid them. When a frog is extending their tongue make a circle around that frog. If done correctly the achievement will pop as soon as the frog is captured. Watch out though! Touching their tongues will cause you to lose a life.

Capture 5 or more enemies in a single vortex.

This will probably be your first achievement you get. Simply create a vortex around 5 or more enemies to capture them. Aside from the first few rooms on Easy mode every room will have at least 5 enemies.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1679/-TaC6Q==.jpgEasy Street Millionaire - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Score 1,000,000 or more points on Easy difficulty.

Start up a game on Easy difficulty and start purging the souls from the corridors in each room. As stated in the Roadmap you can go through the levels and rooms as many times as you wish as long as you keep surviving. You start out with 3 lives but as you destroy enemies they release blue spheres that you collect. When enough have been collected you gain another life. I had around 11 the whole time through Easy and I had to pass through the game about 1.5 times before I got to 1,000,000 points. Remember to create a vortex that engulfs the ENTIRE room when enemies are spawning to easily kill everything at once.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1679/+rVgpQ==.jpgExorcist - 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Capture 30 or more enemies in a single vortex.

Based on the points you earn for this it may seem difficult but it is not. Easily obtained on Normal/Hard mode if you want it quickly. It can be obtained on Easy mode but you have to wait for the later levels (about 15 minutes into a game) before enough enemies spawn to even attempt this. As stated in the above achievement just circle the entire room to create a huge vortex and it will suck any and all spawning enemies in. On Normal/Hard mode this will unlock fairly early if you use this method. It will pop as soon as 30 enemies have gone into your vortex.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1679/-45ykw==.jpgExterminator - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Capture 15 or more enemies in a single vortex.

Just like Banish or Exorcist but only requires 15. This will probably be your second achievement you unlock and is easily obtained while going for Easy Street Millionaire. Practice the same plan of engulfing as large of an area as you can with your vortex and you will have this one in no time.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1679/+1WYNg==.jpgExtreme Street Millionaire- 50 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Score 10,000,000 or more points on Hard difficulty.

This may seem difficult at first and will be the hardest achievement but with a little practice of timing your vortexes and patience this achievement is a piece of cake! More enemies spawn on Hard difficulty and it seemed to me it took a little bit longer to gain lives from collecting blue orbs. Don't let the scoring fool you either. Enemies are worth more as the difficulty increases so it won't take you long to get this achievement if you are patient and time your vortex correctly. If it seems like a tight fit to make a vortex just hang back and wait. Also making small vortex as you run from/dodge enemies can take out a few wandering enemies. Every little bit helps! Just keep at it and you will get this achievement in no time.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1679/-E+DtQ==.jpgIt's a Trap! - 5 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Create a vortex that encircles no enemies, but captures 5 or more.

I got this accidentally during Easy mode but once you know how enemies behave it's a snap! Just wait until either the white rats or the golden flying beetles appear. They follow you wherever you go. Go to one side of the room with at least 5 of them following you. When they have almost cornered you fly to the opposite side and place a large vortex. They should follow you and fly/walk right into your vortex. The achievement will pop as soon as this happens.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1679/-2iXuw==.jpgLucky 13 - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Capture 13 enemies, one at a time, with 13 sequential vortexes.

The second hardest achievement in the game. For some it might be the hardest but with a little patience and planning it will be a snap. Play on Easy mode to start with. To get this achievement you have to place 13 vortex in a row with each one capturing ONE enemy each. If they capture 0 enemies you have to start your count over and if they capture more than one you have to start over. The easiest way to do this is, again, wait for the white rats or golden beetles to follow you. Create a SMALL vortex and lure ONE into it. A small vortex helps because you can easily guide one enemy into it and also it helps when you defeat the least of a certain type of enemy and the next wave spawns in you have less ground covered by a vortex and, therefore, less of a chance of accidentally capturing an enemy from the next wave that spawns in by your vortex. It took me a few tries on Easy mode but you will get it. Patience!

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1679/-xeLXA==.jpgMain Street Millionaire - 25 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Score 5,000,000 or more points on Normal difficulty.

Just like the other two difficulty related achievements just have patience and this will come naturally. Should take about 20-30 minutes to get this one.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1679/-a97Jg==.jpgNumber 6 - 5 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Create 6 simultaneous vortexes.

This could be your first achievement if you wanted it to be. Play Easy mode and just make small circles through the entire floor of the room you are in. Do it quickly and this should pop as soon as your sixth vortex is created.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1679/+JRpEA==.jpgOmnivore - 25 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Capture 5 or more different enemy types in a single vortex.

I got this on Hard mode about 10-12 rooms into it. If you are doing my method of creating one large room sized vortex then you will eventually capture 5 different enemies types on Hard Mode. This will pop as soon as the 5th enemy type is captured in your single vortex.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1679/+8xh+Q==.jpgSpiritus - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Survive an entire level without a single death.

Best done on Easy mode; you have to make it through each room, including the final door-less room, and be teleported back to the first room without dying. I can't remember the exact amount but I think it is 18-20 rooms before you reach the final room. Beat that room and "Level 2" will pop up on the screen and you will be back in the first room. The achievement will pop at this time as well if you did not lose a life. Not very hard just be careful and use proper timing. Also be careful of spawning enemies while moving to safety.

Trick: Any time you die, hit the Windows button to back out. When you launch the game and continue, you will start at that room without the death counting. This makes this possible even on Hard mode.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1679/-ohvKA==.jpgSynchronicity - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Capture 3 or more enemies in each of 3 simultaneous vortexes.

A challenging achievement but with enough enemies and a little planning it's a breeze. The goal is to create 3 separate vortex simultaneously and have each vortex capture at least 3 enemies. So a total of 9 enemies at least have to be captured with at least 3 in each vortex. Just wait until there are enough enemies on the screen to attempt this and quickly create 3 vortex to capture them. If you make each vortex big enough and cover enough of the room you should be able to nab this achievement.

You will want to seperate the roadmap from the achievement guide to make it flow better.

Also, I have discovered a flawless way to beat a level without dying and to get all point based achievements (even on hard).

It's actually simple, it's basically like dashboarding on an xbox. When you die, hit the Windows button or quit to main menu. Now continue and you'll start back where you were at the start of that room. Though, if you beat the last room in a level and you die on the first room in the next, it will take you back to previous room. I would suggest allowing a few deaths to save time, since it's the only place it happens (plus you'll be earning lots of lives).

If you want, I can help you edit.

I noticed that little trick the other day when I accidentally hit the home button. Also I would really appreciate it if you helped me edit as I have never done a guide before but I tried to follow the faq for writing them on here closely. Thanks

No problem! You can now shorten some of the top piece of your roadmap. I have put it in standard form (steps). You can edit any of it as you please of course. I'm just here to help. I'll most likely be publishing this guide at some point (could be someone else I guess). So let's go ahead and get it perfect. Go through and see if there are any mistakes grammar wise. Also not sure if you have, but run through and mention the trick for not losing a life.

Something else I noticed about this game that I didn't see in the guide:

If you turn go into the game options and turn sensitivity all the way up, this game becomes even easier. You can weave in and out of flocks of moths or whatever with LASER precision that way, combined with the "dashboard" trick it definitely knocks the difficulty down to a 2 I'd say.

Thanks Trish, I'll edit that into the introduction of the roadmap.

I was going to but the guide making FAQ said to use the list order provided in the achievement list overview on this site.

Oh, weird... Ah well, good enough I guess.

actually you can put the forum version of the guide achievements in any order you please. However, when you submit the guide, it must be in same order as site. But yeah I usually.stick to the list.order just because I dont want to reorganize them Later
