Just a small note for the guide, after the patch upgraded weapons no longer give credit for "A Very Special Day". It actually has to be a created weapon now.

Ah that sucks. Oh well, you'll be using modded weapons pretty much exclusively later in the game anyway. Thanks for the heads up though!

For the "10 heads are better than 1" achievement i can defenitly say that the bst weapon is the sootgun.

And if you make a suicider explode by himself it dosen't brake the counter.

ps: i killed a lot of zombies with the gun but the counter continued to reset, with the shotgun it didn't.

i just forgot/lost the link to the somewhat locations guide posted by someone there.. it said you need to have like 57/72 locations found for the "There and back again" before entering the last act

** Yeah i just worked on this achievement. You need exactly 57/72 locations found before entering the Final Act the side quests really help with the location spots.**

I did some checking, menage a trios is not cumulative, it's similar to together in the light in that you gotta do it in one shot. At least, the few I had done with 3 partners before (plus myself) didn't carry over.

And there is a really good place to get Catch! early on that I noticed while replaying through act I with each character. After you leave the shack on the beach to find the lifeguard station, you will see a guy being attacked by zombies in his car. Immediately south east of him (mere feet) is a boat and a propane tank. In this same area, not even 10 feet north of the boat, an infected or 2 spawn and come running at you. Grab the tank, toss it a little north of the truck, and then stand back with your weapon ready to throw at the tank. As they run past it to get to you, toss your weapon. Boom, done. Was weird that it came so early.

Same goes for the Act I suicider. If you look just south of where he spawns, you will find a propane tank near the bar bungalow, and almost 0 zombies otherwise. Carry this propane tank up, watch the cutscene, run back to wherever it fell, toss it towards the suicider, and toss your weapon at it. Instant achievement. They also start appearing inside of that same bar bungalow, in the center room, and can easily be picked up there too.

A good spot for getting "One Is All I Need" is the tunnel near the gas station in the Resort area on the bottom left of the map.

A single burning Infected rushes out once every few seconds, giving you plenty of time to set up. Occasionally some zombie might sneak up on you so just watch your back while waiting for the next Infected

For "10 heads are better than 1", you don't need to kill the zombie in one shot. So just kick the zombie to the floor and deplete its HP until it's almost dead and take a clean shot to the head. Most of the accidental resets are due to the reticle floating to other body parts so the best time to do it is when the zombie is floored

I literally got this achievement today, and did 1/5 with one random party but then one person went idle and we couldn't proceed without him. I then joined another party and the first quest we completed set the counter to 2/5. So it's definitely cumulative of some sorts. Did you turn off your console in between the sessions or anything like that? I just used "Drop Out" and then immediately found another session and kept going.

Double-posting because I'm awesome like that!

Just wanted to say I've added some extra info on "There and back again" that may help with the final locations people might be missing, or a workaround for people stuck at 72/72 with no achievement. I also added what I think to be the best way to get level 50 and "School of hard knocks."

I think the guide is pretty much 100% complete unless anyone thinks I need more Youtube videos or anything like that. Let me know, otherwise I'll be posting it to the main site in the next few days!

Guide is pretty solid Pants. Good work. One thing you could add for the Light My Fire achievement (If you want or feel its needed) is that if you shoot a Zombie it will start make its way towards you/come after you. So if you cant round them up properly just shoot some that arn't paying attention and they come to where you are.

EDITS:

-For the dupe, just hold LT and Y at the same time. Then press RT. No timing needed.

-Added video for Light My Fire achievement

-Edited introduction to reflect game save corruption that happens randomly, suggesting backup save.

-Added video for 10 heads are better than 1 and changed description a little bit reflecting another method to get it easily.

-Added info about Sam B's tackle skill lowest level to obtain being 5 and a brief description of when/what a Ram enemy is.

Notes:

-As far as a main character goes, Purna might be the best for this. Her Fury allows you to shoot a bunch of zombies at once and usually instantly kills them. These kills will count towards gun kills as well as rage kills. You also get analogue stick kills, so it counts for 3 things at once. She also has an XP boost that really helps. Her lock picking can be gained quite fast too. By the time I got to the end of act 3, I was level 40 with only 27 hours played, not using the XP glitch.

-Might be worthwhile to note that if you dupe items and use the XP glitch, your total time for completion can be around 45 hours (this is a guess). Specifically if you do Act 1 trick co-op, then 35-40 hours is very realistic. I did Act 1 in a little over 2 and a half hours, only doing main quests.

-I'll add in the Main Quests that need to be completed for each chapter in the "Complete Act X". That way people can get an idea of how they are progressing.

^^ - This. Using the XP boost on the Thug will majorly cut down the time its take to 1000. I think I got the 1000 at around 38 hours.

Has the Thug XP boosting trick in Harlan's hut been patched? I just tried punching it with some pair brass knuckles and it died. Am I doing something wrong?

If not, any other XP boosting tricks I can use? I'm on my third playthrough and I don't think finishing the main story again will help me get to level 50. I'm level 42.

No, it's still working after the UPDATE, I can confirm this and IMO this is the best XP boosting trick aside from the OLEANDER technique.

Oleander has vanished from the shop I was buying it at (the lighthouse one). Does this stock change depending on what level you are? Because now no matter where I go, I cannot find it.

For the Thug glitch, can only Sam B do this?

I think the stick rotates depending on where you are in the story. I first performed the Oleander exploit before escorting Ope, and had no trouble finding Oleander for sale from several shops. After going up a few levels, I continued with the story.

Then, after completing all Lab quests and just before going to Act IV, I went around trying to find Oleander for sale and could not find any. I reloaded my game several times, and it seemed that all the vendors had stopped changing their stock. I gave up and carried on.

The Thug glitch can be done by anyone, but I imagine Sam B would make the most out of it, since he can have XP bonuses for breaking limbs.

Kill 150 enemies using Analog Fighting controls.

You'll need to manually switch to Analog in the Options>Controls menu. The way this works is you need to hold down the Left Trigger, then use the Right Thumbstick to attack. If you want to chop off a head for example, pull the thumbstick all the way to the left/right and then quickly flick it in the exact opposite direction. It takes some getting used to. This is best done early in the game when zombies are slower and have less health.

A small trick to getting this with ease: kills while driving or shooting with analog controls turned on count toward this for some reason. You can avoid using this control mode at all if you get all 150 by running zombies over or using guns. There may be a glitch where those types of kills stop counting; to reset this issue, simply get a melee kill with the controls on and they'll start counting again.

Driving and shooting doesn't work for me anymore after the patch. Actually the counter stops after 25 car kills. Then i tried to kill some with a normal kill and it counts again. But now after the patch, guns, car and even curb stombs do not push my counter.

It didn't work for me pre-patch although I didn't start until after I had done 25 kills properly so perhaps that was why.

Acorrding to this guy:

Key Note for Oleanders: I have found these at 2 shops Pre-Prison for those looking to grind out the quest xp via massive amounts of cash. It rotates between Dwight at the Overpass Village and Javier at the Lighthouse (possibly more, but the only 2 I've seen) about every 30min. Changing maps won't make them restock. In Act 4, Jeremy will fill your Oleander order from time to time if you need them for items or want to stock up before finishing the game and starting a New Game +.

Here is a Tip for Can't touch this.

Go to the bungalow with Nenja Samejon and clear the area around the nearby bar.Now you can start killing Nenja with a Hammer and run around that bar to resurrect Nenjaover and over again. Since she is harmless you won't get hit.Beware: There might be new zombies in the bar area too, but i was able to simply outrun them.

Ok, i'm having a lot of trouble gathering 10 zombies to let them on fire... Any place where i can easily find a good number of those rotting stupid walking corps?

Every time a try to move a little away to increase the number of "followers" one or two remain back leaving the chase, and the meat bomb radius is too small to attrack the long distance ones....

The city of moresby has plenty. all you need to do is run around and when you've got 10 hop on a car and light them up.

love the guide but like i said before you need to put guides up for people that never played the game before, it is no where near 40 hrs, that is too laughable!!!!!!!!

Why not? I just finished my first playthrough in about 45 hours. And that includes the oleander xp boosting witch takes a couple of hours when you are not online like myself and have to dupe your weapons to make money.
