Introduction:

Omerta is a strategy game with turn-based tactical combat and is set in Atlantic City of the 1920's - the time of prohibition. The player takes control over an Italian immigrant with dreams of a Big Life in the United States so he starts establishing a little alcohol distribution and works his way up in the criminal hierarchy become the "Capo di Tutti Capi", the boss of all bosses.

The game contains a singleplayer campaign which covers twenty areas of Atlantic City where the player expands his criminal business and deals with the police and other criminals, a Sandbox mode - which is not necessary for the achievements - and a small multiplayer portion that contains cooperative and competitive modes with two modes each.

The singleplayer campaign will take roughly 30 hours to complete, depending how lucky you are with unlocking the combat achievements. Combat achievements can be unlocked/boosted in multiplayer as well, so expect approximately 10 hours for the multiplayer part.

The achievements based on the strategic layer and the gameplay itself aren't very difficult - difficulty doesn't matter. Just make sure to keep track of the unique weapons as you can't go back to completed areas, so missing one will cause a complete new playthrough.

The combat achievements tend to be a bit luck based, since they often require hitting multiple targets at once which can be become a bit frustrating when missing shots with 85% chance to hit. Anyway, combat missions can be restarted (you can't save during combat though) as often as you want so these achievements shouldn't be too hard either. Also make sure to get the "Spreading the Love"-achievement during campaign combats, as this achievement can't be boosted online.

Campaign walkthrough:

Start your campaign on Easy difficulty.

The campaign areas usually don't have a time limit (except for the last) so you should focus on building up a working economy first, no matter what the tasks tell you, since there is almost always a huge gathering task in any mission.

In the first missions you should establish at least one "Brewery" and one "Distillery" in your premises and one "Speakeasy" so you already earn some money. When there is a strong alcohol competition, try to buyout independent "Speakeasies" and use Drive-By shootings to get rid of independent "Breweries"/"Distilleries". This will help to get some money. When gathered more than 3,000 Dirty Money the best way to earn money is establishing a "Labour Union". When build, focus on getting 100 Feared and Liked Rating so your Labour Union operates at 300% efficency. You can also abandon your "Breweries" and "Speakeasies" at this point as you don't need them any longer - just use them to get started.

Later in the game when you need Clean Money you will want to establish an "Accountant". When your economy prospers it's time to tackle the mission's tasks - things will be pretty easy then.

In combat encounters you will want a good mixed setup. I usually preferred one henchman with a pistol, one with revolvers and one with a Tommy-Gun. The fourth spot depends on the map - in open areas I preferred "Wolf" with rifle and "Romeo" or "Fixit" in warehouses.

(Remember, combat encounters can be restarted as often as you want and you can change your group setup there as well.) I can't recommend melee henchmen, since the AI will focus on them and it happens quite often, that they're already panicked when reaching an oponent so they become pretty much useless.

Multiplayer and Mop Up:

The multiplayer part of Omerta just requires to win one Cooperative and one Competitive map each, as well as 25 wins overall. Get yourself a boosting partner and start with "Gang War" to gain some enemy. You can mop up any missing combat achievements here as well. When you earned some money, be sure to check the "Team Management" tab and equip your preferred henchmen with better weapons. You can also level them up by pressing :abut: in the perks tab of each henchman. When you leveled and equipped them it's time to try a coop map, "Bank Heist" is usually a bit easier, since both of you start with all four henchmen. After successfully escaping with the money head back to "Gang War" to finish the 25 wins overall and you're done.

Conclusion:

Omerta isn't a difficult game although some, especially combat related, achievements can be a bit frustrating. Since there is no achievement that can't be obtained with a few restarts you just need to fight your way through and you should be fine.

Achievement Guide

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/5-+XgXI=.jpg That's Got to Hurt – 20:gsicon:

Inflicted 100 damage or more to an enemy with a single attack

This achievement will come very late in the game and the best way I found was leveling up Walker "Big Man" Johnson to at least Level 11 and staff him with the following Perks:

Brute, Melee Specialist, Muscle Training, More Criticals, More Criticals II, Massive Criticals, Melee Specialist II, Cunning Training, Vengeful, Melee Specialist III.

When you even reach Level 12 you can choose More Criticals III as well.

NOTE: When you earn a Level up, all characters who weren't hired, gain their Perks automatically but can be respecced for a fee of 500 Dirty Money. To do this press :rtbut:+:abut: to open the Gang Management, choose the character you want to respec, hire him (you may have to fire another henchman first) and choose "Perks". There you'll see the "Respec" option, so press :ybut:.

Also make sure to buy "The Sultan of Swat" bat at Illinois Avenue! (Please refer to the "Weapons Collector" achievement.)

After all these preparations we go to combat - just hope the AI is fielding Pickpockets, Jackknifes or Muggers (melee classes) and we can get it done.

Position "Big Man" somewhere in the open, so a melee foe can reach him. When the enemy reaches him and even land a hit, you're almost there. Just make sure you DO NOT move! Press :ybut: and click left to choose the "Skull Crush" ability, press :ltbut: to aim and cross your fingers.

Thanks to the perks and your unique weapon (+100% damage) a hit will inflict 130 damage guaranteed, which will net you this achievement.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/-1bqiA==.jpg Tactician – 15:gsicon:

Won a combat encounter with 4 party members above 75% health

See "The Man with the Plan"

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/-XfjPQ==.jpg The Man with the Plan – 35:gsicon:

Won a combat encounter with 4 party members at full health

This achievement can be a bit difficult when you try to obtain it during campaign, since ranged enemies score at least one hit almost every time.

Best spot during campaign was the beginning of North Side when fighting against the Ku Klux Klan, because they field many melees in the first combat encounters, so you might be able to stay out of their range and shoot them without getting hit.

Easiest way is to boost it in MP. Just make sure your partner does not use revolver wielding henchmen such as "Doc" or "Two-Gun", as they will use defensive shots.

Then just kill all your partner's henchman without him attacking you and the achievement will unlock.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/5-s7PJI=.jpg Close and Personal – 10:gsicon:

Won a combat encounter with 4 characters in your party wielding melee weapons

Although there are five henchmen who are wielding melee weapons from the start, this can be done with any character.

Easiest way is boosting in Multiplayer again. Choose "Team Management" in the Multiplayer menu, "Examine" your four standard henchman - "Squigs", "Doc", "Daredevil" and "Wolf" - and "Equip" them with the standard knuckles, bats or knifes (which are free).

Of course the achievement can be obtained during campaign as well, but in this case you have to check Deputies or Crime Lords, whether they sell melee weapons. After buying the weapons the Gang Menu can be opened by pressing :rtbut:+:abut: and then it works like in the "Team Management"

Anyway, it's not recommended to start a combat encounter with four melees in campaign.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/5-rbxAE=.jpg Spreading the Love – 20:gsicon:

Hit 5 characters with an area attack

This achievement can only be done during campaign, so it is missable!

The description is a bit misleading, in fact it means "five enemies" as your henchmen do not count when hit.

There are only four chracters with area attack talents:

- Vincento "Squigs" Rizzo - Grenade - Level 4

- Frank "Wolf" Joseph - Grenade - Level 4

- Will "Romeo" Patterson - Firebomb - Level 1

- Stanislaw "Loony" Kowalski - Grenade - Level 4

I recommend using "Romeo"with Firebomb, because grenades take one turn to explode, so there will usually be at least one enemy running out of the explosion zone.

The tricky part is, to get a combat encounter in a warehouse or a similar map, where you can trigger the enemies and then hide around a corner, so any ranged enemy is forced to come to you.

Another good spot might be the very last combat encounter, since the AI tends to gather around the stairs. (But use this only as your last straw!)

When you gathered five enemies on one spot, press :ybut: and then right up to choose the Firebomb and throw it.

NOTE: You can restart combat encounters as often as you want/need it, since this might take a few tries.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/-Jcbrg==.jpg One Shot, One Kill – 15:gsicon:

Killed an enemy at full health with a single attack

This achievement can be earned luckily without even going for it.

For a safe way please check the "That's Got to Hurt" achievement.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/-rYSGw==.jpg Last Man Standing – 30:gsicon:

Won a combat encounter with three incapacitated gang members at the end

When the healthbar of one of your henchmen is depleted in combat, he gets incapacitated. So this achievement requires that three of your henchmen get "killed" while the last one kills the last enemy to win the combat encounter.

To make things easier start the combat encounter as you normally would till there is only one enemy left. Additionally you can shoot him a bit, so he doesn't have too many HP left. Then let this guy incapacitate three of your henchmen and finish him of with your last man.

Credit: Thanks to 666priest!

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/+xT54g==.jpg Lucky Rabbit's Foot – 20:gsicon:

Hit with an attack that has 5% hit chance

This achievement is completly luck based.

You need to hit an enemy who is very far away and behind cover as well. Anyway - you usually got four tries per pistol wielding henchman and you can restart any combat encounter when you find a good spot to try it over and over again.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/+vQBcQ==.jpg Jinxed – 20:gsicon:

Missed with an attack that has 95% hit chance

Although this achievement is completly luck based as well, I encountered it to happen quite often (seven times in my campaign), so this should come naturally later in the game.

A good way to gain shots with 95% is either with a sniper or with the "Sir Jury" pistol (see the "Weapons Collector" achievement), which grants additional 10% Hit chance.

Another method to increase your hit chance is choosing the "Finesse Training" perk at Level 4.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/5-sCAzs=.jpg Three Birds with One Stone – 10:gsicon:

Killed 3 enemies with a single attack

This achievement can be done with either a bat, a shotgun or the Tommy Gun.

I suggest using the "Chicago Piano" Tommy Gun (see the Weapons Collector achievement) which has the widest fire cone with Juliet. Also grant her at least the first rank of the "Savvy" perk (+1 AP) so you can aim your shot without leaving her with 5 spare action points.

You can also use the "hide behind a corner"-method mentioned at the Spreading the Love achievement, to get enemies closer together, but you don't want them to stand behind each other, as this will usually cause a "Miss" at the guy standing behind someone else.

When your enemies are closing, already start to shoot at them with your other henchmen to decrease their healthbar to at least 30 points. When three of your foes are close together and at around 30 HP or less wiat till it's Juliet's turn, press :ybut: and then left to choose "Full Auto", additionally press :ltbut: to aim your shot and hope, that all three get killed.

NOTE: You can restart combat encounters as often as you want/need it, since this might take a few tries

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/+N1DZg==.jpg Fire in the Hole! – 25:gsicon:

Hit an enemy with a grenade

There are only three chracters who get the "Grenade" talent at Level 4:

- Vincento "Squigs" Rizzo

- Frank "Wolf" Joseph

- Stanislaw "Loony" Kowalski

When you throw a grenade to an enemy, they usually run out of the explosion circle, so your best bet might be to get this with Squigs and Wolf. In Wolf's turn, press :ybut: and then left to choose "Crippling Shot" and then in Squigs' turn throw the grenade by press :ybut: again and then right up for the "Grenade" talent.

You can also use the Princess' or Juliet's "Distract" talent, or prepare a low-courage target with "Dance for me" (revolver attack) or "Intimidate" (Two-Gun, Juliet, Alfredo Costa) to lower your enemy's MP.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/-16hKg==.jpg Watch your Step! – 20:gsicon:

Shoved an enemy within the area of a fire bomb

For this achievement you need Will "Romeo" Patterson as well as a character with the "Shove" talent.

Characters with "Shove" talent:

- Brigitte "Daredevil" Laval - Level 4

- Walker "Big Man" Johnson - Level 8

- Eddie "Happy" Sparks - Level 1 (but second to last henchman)

Shove is melee attack, so you need to bring "Daredevil" or "Big Man" in movement range of your designated enemy first. Then, in "Romeo"'s turn, press :ybut: and then right up to choose the "Firebomb" talent and throw the firebomb near your oponent, but you don't want him to stand in the white explosion circle yet.

Then move either "Daredevil" or "Big Man" to your target so that your enemy is between your henchman and the white circle of the firebomb, press :ybut: again and then right for "Daredevil" or right down for "Big Man" to choose the "Shove" talent and your henchman will push him into the circle which will unlock the achievement.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/5-ri+6g=.jpg Home Run – 15:gsicon:

Damaged 2 enemies with a single bat attack

For this achievement you need a bat wielding henchman like Walker "Big Man" Johnson or Eddie "Happy" Sparks.

In combat you need two enemies standing side by side so you may consider to trigger your enemies and than hide behind a corner or boost it in Multiplayer.

When you got two enemies positioned right, walk in with either "Big Man" or "Happy", press :ybut: and then left down for "Home Run Swing". Also press :ltbut: to aim your swing. When you hit both enemies, they'll be pushed away and the achievement will unlock.

NOTE: Of course you can equip any henchman with a bat (refer to "Close and Personal" see how this is done), but it's not recommended since wrong attributes (like Muscle) will decrease the Hit chance with melee weapons dramatically.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/+NUIxA==.jpg Run, Coward! – 20:gsicon:

Intimidated a panicked enemy

For this achievement it is recommended to field one revolver wielding henchman ("Doc" or "Two-Gun") and one with the "Intimidate" talent:

- Marie "Juliet" Lucille - Level 4

- Mario "Two-Gun" Tucci - Level 8

- Alfredo Costa - Level 8

In combat pick a low courage target (courage is the turqois bar beneath the health bar) who are usually targets with low HP as well and use your "Dance for me" shot (requires revolvers, press :ybut: and then left down) which will inflict courage damage only and after your enemy's courage is below 15 use the "Intimidate" talent by pressing :ybut: and right ("Juliet") or down right ("Two-Gun" and Alfredo Costa) which will cause your panicked enemy to run away like a coward which will unlock the achievement.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/5-22iMc=.jpg Back In Action – 10:gsicon:

Bandaged an incapacitated character

To bandage a character you need a henchmen with the "Bandage" talent. Doc is the only henchman, who has this talent from the start, so it can be done in the "Absecon Lighthouse" area at the earliest.

When the healthbar of one of your henchmen is depleted in combat, he gets incapacitated. Move Doc next to your incapacitated henchman, press :ybut: to open the action menu and choose "Bandage" in the upper right corner.

NOTE: "Bandage" can only be used once per mission, so when trying to go for this achievement, make sure, you didn't use it to just heal one of your henchmen.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/5-5MC18=.jpg Patched Up – 15:gsicon:

Removed 2 negative conditions with First Aid

For this achievement you need to field Frank "Wolf" Joseph (Level 1) or Emmet "Doc" O'Connel (Level 8) into combat and hope for bat-wielding and pistol- or shotgun-wielding oponents. Since this constellation is pretty rare it is recommended to boost this achievement in Multiplayer.

You will want your boosting partner to equip one of his henchmen with a bat (refer to "Close and Personal" see how this is done) and one with either a pistol or a shotgun.

Then have him attack one of your henchmen with a normal bat hit and either a "Stomach Shot" (pistol) or a "Buckshot" (shotgun) - both by pressing :ybut: and then left down - which will cause a "Concussion" as well as a "Bleeding" debuff.

Then move your Wolf into melee range of your wounded henchman, press :ybut: and then left up to choose "First Aid" which will remove both debuffs and grant you the achievement.

NOTE: Your partner can also use "Leg Sweep" (knuckles) or "Crippling Shot" (rifle) for a "Crippled" debuff. (Thanks to 666priest!)

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/5-xeO-Y=.jpg It's a Trap! – 15:gsicon:

Damaged an enemy with a booby trap

There are only two henchmen with the "Booby Trap" talent:

- Luigi "Fixit" Tucci - Level 1

- Stanislaw "Loony" Kowalski - Level 1

Easiest way to get this achievement is to move "Fixit" or "Loony" in a door, press :ybut: and then left up to choose "Booby Trap" and place the trap in the door. Then trigger an enemy (in case it didn't happen already) and hide behind a corner so the enemy is forced to come through the door. When he runs through your trap the achievement will unlock.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/5-+s88w=.jpg Blood Red Eyes – 20:gsicon:

Used Rage 3 times with the same character in a single battle

There are only three henchmen with the "Rage" talent:

- Mack "The Knife" - Level 1

- Alfredo Costa - Level 1

- Luigi "Fixit" Tucci - Level 8

"Rage" is a talent which recharges with a kill, so you need to prepare two enemies by decreasing their health bar so one of the three characters mentioned above can kill them.

Just make sure you use "Rage" - press :ybut: and then right up ("The Knife" and A. Costa) or right down (Fixit) before killing the first enemy, than before killing the second enemy again and a third time after you killed the second enemy. So the second enemy must not be the last enemy!

When activating "Rage" for the third time the achievement will unlock.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/5-2N+nk=.jpg Knuckle Sandwich – 20:gsicon:

Hit 3 different enemies in the same turn with knuckles

There is only character who comes with knuckles from the start - Brigitte "Daredevil" Laval. Knuckles allow your character to move after attacking so your targets don't need to stand side by side but not to far from each other as well.

It's recommended to try this when you already gained some perks "Fleet of Feet", "Fleet of Feet II", "Savvy" and "Muscle Training" are really useful so being at least Level 7 makes things a bit easier. (To see how characters are respecced please refer to the "That's Got to Hurt" Achievement.)

In Combat trigger your enemies (melee enemies make things even easier) and hide behind a wall so they're forced to come to you. When enemies gathered together a bit run to the first enemy, press :ltbut: to aim and then just hit him with the normal "Punch" and repeat it two more times.

Since you only have 13 or 14 AP every punch needs to be a hit for the achievement to unlock.

NOTE: You can restart combat encounters as often as you want/need it, since this might take a few tries.

Credit: Thanks to 666priest!

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/5-xtAuo=.jpg Slice and Dice – 10:gsicon:

Hit an enemy with the Slice and Dice knife attacks in the same turn

There are two henchmen who start with a knife:

- Mack "The Knife"

- Stanislaw "Loony" Kowalski

To get this achievement you need to close in to an enemy, press :ybut: and then left to choose "Slice" and make sure you press :ltbut: as well (hit chance with knifes is usually pretty low). Then press :ybut: again, left up for "Dice" which comes with additional 10% Hit Chance after a "Slice" Hit, press :ltbut: again and when both attacks hit, the achievement will unlock.

NOTE: You can restart combat encounters as often as you want/need it, since this might take a few tries.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/5-nP6RM=.jpg Easy as One-Two – 10:gsicon:

Killed 2 enemies in the same turn with a pistol

There are two henchmen who start with a pistol:

- Vincento "Squigs" Rizzo

- Joey "Princess" Tucci

To get this achievement you need to prepare two enemies with your other henchmen so they only have a maximum of 20 HP left. Make sure your pistol wielder is in close range to the designated targets as this will increase his hit chance.

Both "Squigs" and "Princess" have enough AP to shoot four times so this shouldn't be too hard when in close range.

After you killed the two enemies with your four shots the achievement will unlock.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/5-gvEYA=.jpg No Place to Hide – 15:gsicon:

Destroyed 4 cover objects with a single shotgun attack

The easiest way to get this achievement is to boost it in Multiplayer because the "Gang War" map has plenty of boxes, crates etc. which can be destroyed with shotguns.

To make things even easier you can equip all four of your henchmen with Shotguns so you have multiple tries.

Otherwise it might come naturally in warehouse encounters, but if you're unlucky, MP is the easiest way, since the "Gang War" map is always the same.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/5-oOGDU=.jpg Do NOT Mess with Me – 20:gsicon:

Killed an enemy with a revolver retaliation shot

Revolvers come with a passive bonus which allows retaliation (defensive) shots. You do not need to save Movement or Action Points to trigger defensive shots and you can't turn your henchmen into overwatch mode like in the new XCOM.

Retaliation shots happen when your henchman equipped with revolvers is attacked with ranged attacks. He then fires one single shot at the attacker. This shot doesn't carry any aim penalties so it has the same Hit percentage as the standard "Flurry" attack.

So for this achievement you need to bring down one of your enemies to around 15-20 HP maximum (lower is better of course) and have him attack your revolver wielding henchman.

To make sure the right henchman is attacked, you may want to move him away from cover and in the open (higher Hit percentage for the enemy) and your other henchmen around a corner because the AI oponents tend to ignore your revolver wielding henchmen to not get shot by them.

When your retaliation shot hits and kills the enemy the achievement should unlock.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/5-vu4KY=.jpg Shooting Fish in a Barrel – 20:gsicon:

Hit 3 vulnerable enemies with a single Tommy Gun attack

I highly recommend trying this achievement with a boosting partner in a MP match. I also recommend buying and hiring "Juliet" as well as "Dandy" in the "Manage Team" section of MP because they both wield Tommy Guns.

To get this achievement have your partner move at least three of his henchmen together closely. Then choose one of your Tommy Guns, press :ybut: and choose "Suppressive Fire" (down left), then press :ltbut: to aim the shot. When you hit, all three enemies should have "Vulnerable" popping above their head.

Be sure all three foes are vulnerable or you won't get the achievement!

Then wait for your next Tommy Gun's move, press :ybut: again, but choose "Full Auto" (left) this time. Again you can press :ltbut: to aim the shot and higher your hit chance. When you hit, the achievement will pop.

Please send me some feedback if this method works for you!

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/5-6g6MI=.jpg Ruthless Efficency – 10:gsicon:

Had a building at 200% efficiency

The easiest way to get this achievement is to tackle it, when you go for the "Iron Fists" or "Velvet Glove" achievement.

Rent a premises and establish an Labour Union and buy at least one of the upgrades to double the effectiveness increase for either Feared or Liked rating.

Then check the two achievements mentioned above. When you reached either 100 Feared or Liked rating both achievements will unlock, since your 100% Feared/Liked rating grant you 100% efficency for the Labour Union.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/5-jJ9Kg=.jpg Weapons Dealer – 15:gsicon:

Stockpiled 200 Firearms

This achievement can be done in "Gardener Basin" area after you got the liquor storage. You should have more than 400 storage avaiable which is blocked by the liquor. So try to sell it with Jobs so you get free space.

Most important is to abandon your Pharmacy or have the work to be stopped so you don't gain the 5000 Clean Money.

Then simply abandon all premises, establish smugglers, buy the first upgrade so weapons are more likely to be smuggeled and then wait till you have 200 weapons in your storage.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/5-o1aos=.jpg Money Launderer – 30:gsicon:

Laundered $10,000 Dirty Money in a single mission

There are three ways to launder money:

- Accountant (premises)

- Jobs (Money tab)

- "Launder" at a politician's residence

Establishing an "Accountant" is the most effective way, but make sure you created a working economy first as the "Accountant" will consume your Dirty Money to make Clean Money in a 4:3 rate (with upgrade - both upgrades are recommended) so the "Accountant" can make you bankrupt pretty fast when established too early.

For tips how to set up a working economy please refer to the Roadmap.

NOTE: In my playthrough I laundered aprroximately 12,000$$ Clean Money before the achievement popped so don't get nervous. Just let the game run for some time and it will pop.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/5-kpDDs=.jpg Hard Working – 15:gsicon:

Completed 5 Jobs in a single mission

See "Go-To Man"

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/5-oGU5c=.jpg Go-To Man – 25:gsicon:

Completed 15 Jobs in a single mission

The jobs tab is activated by pressing :rtbut: and then :xbut:.

There are five different mission types:

- Beer

- Liquor

- Firearms

- Money

- Special

Complete fifteen of these tasks in one area and the achievement should unlock.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/5-gnWiI=.jpg Entrepreneur – 20:gsicon:

Owned 10 businesses at the same time

For this achievement you need to rent ten "premises" or "joints" and establish any business in all ten. To check how many businesses you already own, press the :ybut: button. (Your Hideout does NOT count as a business, so you need eleven entries in this overview.)

This can already be done in second area of the game - the "Absecon Lighthouse" by buying out independent businesses or forcing the owners to vacate their business with a Drive-By shooting and rent it yourself afterwards.

Buying out an independent business is part of the second area "Absecon Lighthouse".

Doc wants you to buy out a speakeasy or have it closed by doing a Drive-By.

Select the marked speakeasy (pink sign with 2 glasses) and choose the third option "Buyout" and then "Start" to send one of your henchman. When your henchman returns, the achievement will unlock.

When you missed this opportunity:

To be able to buyout a speakeasy you need warm relations with the owner. A business usally starts at Neutral relations, so you need to choose the "Supply" option first. This will cost you 30 beer and warm up the relations. The Buyout itself costs 250 Dirty Money then.

Gained 100 Feared Rating

Feared rating can be gained by various ways:

- Jobs (15 and 40)

- "The Don's" Pizzeria (20 stock + 10 with upgrade)

- Safe House (20 with upgrade)

- Protection Racket (10 with upgrade)

- Weapon Store (10 with upgrade)

- Loan Shark (10 with upgrade)

- Enforcer characters add 2 Feared Rating when sent on Drive-By or Firebomb missions

and some combat missions also generate Feared rating.

Your best bet might be waiting for an opportunity to buy additional Feared rating in the Jobs tab and rent Joints to establish "The Don's" pizzarias (+upgrade) till you reach the 100 Feared rating.

Liked rating can be gained by various ways:

- Soup Kitchen (20 stock + 25 with upgrades)

- Jobs (15)

- Brewery (15 with upgrade)

- Flop House (10 with upgrade)

- Clinic (10 with upgrade)

- Hotel (10 with upgrade)

- Charity event at the City Official residence (10)

- Party in a Hotel (10)

Easiest way to get this achievement is to rent two premises and establish Soup Kitchens. Make sure you also buy the upgrades which will then already net you 90 Liked rating. Then just organize a Charity event and the achievement should be yours.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/5-yB4Xc=.jpg Scapegoat – 20:gsicon:

Framed another criminal during a police investigation

For this achievement you will want Warm relations with an independent business (Brewery, Speakeasy, Protection Racket and so) or a Crime Lord first. Easiest way is usually to establish a Distillery in a Premises, which should warm the relations with a Speakeasy owner. Otherwise you can buy goods from Breweries, Supply a Speakeasy or do Wet Work for a Crime Lord.

Then have your heat level rise to five stars so the police starts an investigation.

Press :ltbut: to view the investigation. In this menu there are four possible actions:

- Bribe the investigators (500 Dirty Money)

- Call in a favor from a friendly deputy

- Use another criminal as a scapegoat

- Destroy the evidence (combat mission)

Choose the third option and the achievement will unlock.

This achievement can be done in the second area - Absecon Lighthouse - at the earliest. Once you solved the pest problem for Louie Castaneda the police will automatically start an investigation.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/5-jD8h0=.jpg Firestarter – 20:gsicon:

Burned 3 buildings in a single mission

Can be done in the "Garden Pier" area at the earliest, because you need at least three construction lots which are hold by the AI. Look for hotels, casinos and nightclubs. When you click them, there are three options, the first will be "Firebomb".

To burn down a building you need five firearms (so 15 in total) and choose the "Firebomb" option.

(For tips how to gather firearms see the "Weapons Dealer" achievement.)

Once you burned down three casinos, hotels or nightclubs the achievement will pop.

Had a gang member with 200 or more health

NOTE for "Juggernaut", "Marathon Runner", "Nimble Fingers" and "Go for the Eyes!":

Perks increasing HP, MP, AP or Crit chance for a short time only don't seem to count for these achievements - the german achievement description mentions "base" HP, MP, AP and CC.

There are four perks increasing the total HP of one of your henchmen for a total of 60 HP.

- Tough - Level 2 - Increase HP by 15

- Tough II - Level 5/Tough - Increase HP by 15

- Toughness Training - Level 5/Toughness < 10 - Increase Toughness by 1 (i.e. 15 HP)

- Tough III - Level 8/Tough II - Increase HP by 15

So you need a henchman with at least 140 base HP, level him up to Level 8 and choose the three "Tough" perks and "Toughness Training" perk at Level 2, 5 and 8.

There are only two characters with more than 140 base HP:

- Mario "Two-Gun" Tucci

- Eddie "Happy" Sparks

Both start with 165 HP so this can already be gained at Level 5.

NOTE: You can always respec your team members for 500 Dirty Money. Please check the "That's Got to Hurt" achievement to find out how to do it.

Multiplayer Achievements

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/5-o9ISk=.jpg The Taste of Victory – 30:gsicon:

Won a Competitive multiplayer mission

This requires you to win a multiplayer match against another player and has to be done online, since there is neither split screen nor system link.

There are two competitive multiplayer maps:

- Gang War (aka Team Deathmatch)

- Get the Money (kind of Capture the Flag - Take the money bag and bring it to your getaway car)

There is no ranked/unranked system so this can be boosted.

To find boosting partners please refer to the Achievement Trading Thread.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/5-gcKJw=.jpg Brothers in Arms – 30:gsicon:

Won a Cooperative multiplayer mission

This requires you to win a multiplayer match with another player and has to be done online.

There are two cooperative multiplayer maps:

- Bank Heist

- Jailbreak

To get this achievement it is recommended to use "Bank Heist" because you and your partner start with all four henchmen each. A good strategy is to send the two characters with the most Movement Points to the side entrance at the right side of the bank to clean up the safe. (Don't pick up the money bags yet!) The other six henchmen break through the main entrance and clear any remaining hostiles. Position at least three or four henchmen near the cars at the main entrance and let them wait. The other two support your money carriers and head to the front entrance as well. When you pick up the money bags you will trigger a huge police force, that's why positioned some guys at the main entrance. Fight them off and escape via the green squares. (Note: All survivors and all four money bags need to be in any of the green zones to finish the mission.)

Note: Equip and level up your henchmen before trying this!

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2351/5-n80A8=.jpg Scarface – 50:gsicon:

Won 25 multiplayer missions

Both cooperative and competitive modes count towards this achievement, but using "Gang War" is recommended since it's by far the fastest way when boosted with a partner.

The game is not very difficult - the strategy part is very easy since there is no AI oponent, the tactical encounters can be restarted as often as you want (you can't save during the encounters though).

On the other hand there are 2 purely luck based chievos and 3 seem to be pretty problematic for my boosting partner atm (Shooting Fish in a Barrel might even be a bit glitchy, although it unlocked for me but not for my partner...)

So to be on the safe side I'd say it's a 5/10, maybe a 6 if you're incredibly unlucky - but only due to those luck factors.

The game's "difficulty" (literally) is a 3/10 imho - you can play on easy and restart combat as often as you want - so you can't do much wrong...

Time: Think approx 50hrs although I can't tell how much time I spent already...

Great, thank you.

One last thing, the game is good like X-com or crapy like Port Royale 3?

Haven't played Port Royale but it's not as good as the new XCOM.

I'd suggest to rent it first when you're unsure.

To be honest: The game is decent but it's certainly not the best game. I just liked the idea of quite a reimagining of Gangsters and I liked Mafia (thank God I didn't get Mafia II for Xbox^^) so this was a Must Have for me anyway - maybe you check out Ohm's LP on YT if can't rent it.

I have been playing the game so far and the combat portions aren't as good as Xcom, it seems as if their main focus wasn't on the combat but more on the strategy side. I have played every Tropico and every Xcom, so I can say that this game is trying to combine both aspects but does not out do said aspects. I can also agree that the game isn't that difficult (There are difficulty settings but they aren't affected by achievements).

I would also like to add towards the Jinxed achievement. I did this achievement with doc, I was two squares away and shot someone, one shot missed and I got the achievement. Keep in mid that I am playing this game on Steam, not on 360 and also I got this achievement on normal difficulty, so I don't know if that affected anything.

Overall, I can say that if you are big into simulation and strategy, then this game is good but if you compare this game to other games instead of going into this game with a unbiased feeling, then you will not like it. I read alot of people ragging at this game but everyone is comparing it to other games but that is not fair to this game.

Here is some help with your achievement guide red_hammer.

Home Run: The earliest I know that you can get this achievement, is when you get Bigman. I just stood in a door way, 2 melee opponents attacked me and on my turn I hit them both with a wide swing, getting the achievement.

Fire in the Hole!: You get grenades with The Wolf and Squigs when they get to level 4. Throw a grenade into an area that has alot of people and you'll get one in the blast, if you don't, they retry. I did this achievement in a bank robbery mission, where my objective was to escape. Two cops had the green exit zones blocked, so when I threw the grenade, they moved but still stood within the blast radius.

Patched Up: I got this achievement by letting an enemy with a baseball bat give me a concussion and cripple me, then I simply used The Wolf and used his first aid on Big Man.

Blood Red Eyes: This one is easy and requires you to have The Knife. Simply use The Knife and when you know you are about to kill someone with him, activate rage mode and kill the enemy. Just repeat this one more time and on the third activation you will get the achievement.

Knuckle Sandwich: Just do this achievement with anyone that has high movement points and has brass knuckles, such as Daredevil or the main character (If you specd him melee, the way I did). Simply let them group up and just hit them all once, the brass knuckles allow you to move after attacking, so this shouldn't be difficult.

Slice and Dice: Very easy achievement, just use someone that uses a knife (The Knife) or buy a knife. Just walk up to an enemy and first use slice, then use dice in the same turn and you'll get the achievement.

No Place to Hide: This is a very strange one because I got this achievement without destroying any cover, only damaging the cover. I don't know if this way will work for everyone but if does not, then I will find a sure fire way to get this achievement.

Last Man Standing: Simple but can be time consuming. Make sure that the mission you are doing isn't a timed mission. Kill every enemy except for one and let that enemy knock down three of your four people, then just kill that enemy. Make sure to at least hurt that enemy, so that way you can kill him quick afterwards.

Thanks 666priest :)

Had little time over the weekend (when rushing for the 1000 I neglected some things I had to take care of then ;)) and I'm sorry for keeping you waiting.

Anyway - put some effort in my Guide today so I think there are only 4 chievos left by now, which I will complete later today.

Since I'm not a native english speaker any help with grammar (especially commata) via PN is appreciated :)

cheers

Just got "Three Birds with One Stone" and here some tips, since I feel it is hardest chievo.

In Downtown, get Juliet in your team and equip her with best tommygun you got, "The Chopper" works great if you got it. After following robbers trails, you eventually got yourself into police ambush. This is warehouse map, and you always start in secured end, so duck down and hide Juliet in right corner. You are facing huge amounts on 120HP polices, so use your other troops to decrease their health while hiding (one shot in rifle is enough to take 3/4 health away). When good amount is near and wounded, unleash Juliets Full Auto in those!

It took about 25-30 hours to finish game + multiplayer boost and obtain 1000/1000. I didnt count, but my Raptr is showing total gametime 24 hours atm, but it still prosessing few last chievos, so total time may still rise... I am very sure that it didnt take more than 30 hours.

edit me and my boosting partner went through and did mp first I ended up getting 30 of the achievements just doing the combat so fish in a barrel worked with ur strategy but to let you know that it depends on the turn order due to the full auto only makes them vunerable for one turn you may be better off taking daredevil as one of her attacks I think adds vunerable for 2 or 3 turns

Thanks for the guide,

Heres some tips I found while playing through.

Slice and Dice – 10:gsicon:

Hit an enemy with the Slice and Dice knife attacks in the same turn

My "Boss" Character started with a knife and he was able to do this achievement straight away, I guess this maybe true for any of the other character who are able to wield it.

It's Getting Crowded Here – 15:gsicon:

Unlocked 15 gang members

Can also be done in multiplayer, if you buy all the characters on the manage team screen.

This maybe possible to do with the legendary weapons aswell, but they are quite expensive so I haven't tried it.

Scarface – 50:gsicon:

Won 25 multiplayer missions

If the other person quits out, or cancels the match at the "connecting to other player" notification, It will count as a win for yourself. you don't earn as much money, ($200 compared to the 700-800), but it makes it a lot faster to do

Really good guide OP, thanks for putting in the work.

A note on 'Spreading the Love' (Hit 5 characters with an area attack). I got this in the campaign as soon as I threw a grenade that caught a group of five enemies within its blast radius - they did not need actually to be caught by the blast itself (which in fact most of them weren't).

this obviously makes the achievement far, far easier to get!

The mission at the end of Act I, where you have to defend a gang boss against another group of gangsters, worked well for this. The second wave of gangsters spawned in a tight group near a car, and so were perfect to catch in a single grenade's blast radius.

Same way.Virginia ave. during the bank :uzi:.

Keep all ur gang members out side the bank and just place one off them cover next to the door.u will trigger all the enemies and have all together coming next to the door.(5-6 my play)

Two things :

I got spreading the love after using volley. I hit all five enemies. Therefore, grenades and firebombs aren't needed.

From this I can also assume that hots like buckshot, or any that display a cone, will work.

CAn anyone confirm quitting the mp matches unlocks the achievement?
