See One Quarter RFJ

One Quarter: Raiden Fighters Jet
50
Complete NORMAL Mode of Raiden Fighters Jet without using any Continues (any difficulty)
_________________________________________________
Complete Normal Mode without a continue. Set the difficulty to practice. With the difficulty set to practice then you just have to make sure you don't run into anyone as no one will fire at you.

You can do this just by holding down rapid fire and sitting in the middle of the screen most of the time. You can lose a life (1 of your 3) but you can not use a continue.

Boss Rush: Raiden Fighters
40
Complete Boss Rush Mode in Raiden Fighters (with Continues, any difficulty)
_________________________________________________
Set the difficulty to practice (no shots fired). Choose Raiden Fighter 1 with the game type at Boss Rush Mode. Complete the mode and achievement unlocked.

Boss Rush: Raiden Fighters 2
40
Complete Boss Rush Mode in Raiden Fighters 2 (with Continues, any difficulty)
_________________________________________________
Set the difficulty to practice (no shots fired). Choose Raiden Fighters 2 with the game type at Boss Rush Mode. Complete the mode and achievement unlocked.

Boss Rush: Raiden Fighters Jet
40
Complete Boss Rush Mode in Raiden Fighters Jet (with Continues, any difficulty)
_________________________________________________
Set the difficulty to practice (no shots fired). Choose Raiden Fighters Jet with the game type at Boss Rush Mode. Complete the mode and achievement unlocked.

Expert Mode: Raiden Fighters
40
Complete Expert Mode in Raiden Fighters (with Continues, any difficulty)
_________________________________________________
Choose Raiden Fighters. Set the difficulty to practice (no shots fired) but with this mode you will have bullets shot at you when you kill someone. Also if you die on the last level you start at the begining.

So set the continues to free play and have a 2nd controller available. When you get to the final stage if you are down to 1 life jump in on your second controller. This will allow you to continue playing where you died at. I found it easiest to use that 2nd controller as a saftey net and just kept jumping back in with my main controller after I saved my place with the 2nd.

Expert Mode: Raiden Fighters 2
40
Completed Expert Mode of RF2 (with Continue, any difficulties)

These will be the most diffucult achievements to get in the game. It will require a near perfect run on Raiden Fighters Jet. First you will need to collect enough medals to get the Eagle Pendent (you must have a slave ship and collect a medal that drops down and will float in front of the slave. Then collect other medals so that it grows). Once you get the eagle pendent collect it then get 9 medals on the screen. When you do that they will explode and the medals will become gold bars worth 10k. These bars will multiply with each one you get up to 100k (10k, 20k, 30k, etc) but if you miss one (Let it drop from the screen) then you will start at 10k. I believe that the ones that drop from ships increase the multiplier and not the ones that are on the ground (don't fall after a period of time) but you still need to grab them. Again you will have to get really good at memorization and take out everyone with bonuses. Good luck

Wingman
20
Complete a stage with a second player (any game, area or difficulty)
__________________________________________________ _
Play any stage with a second controller. Any game mode, any difficulty.
I believe that you get to the last stage and just jump the other controller in for the last boss and it will unlock. (Someone please confirm this)

Miclus Hunter
30
Found 100 Micluses (across all games)
______________________________________________
These appear throughout the game after doing a certain task. The easiest way to get these to appear is playing training level 5 in Raiden Fighter Jet. Set the difficulty to practice and hover over the 3 domes until they explode showing the miclus. Also the tankers that are on throughout the level if you over over them you will get the miclus to show. So you will get at least 3 per run (domes) and upwards to 6+ if you hit all the statonary tankers by the end of the level. This level takes a minute to complete.

Fairy Guardian
30
Acquired 100 Fairies (across all games)
_______________________________________________
These appear throughout the game after doing a certain task (shooting X number of fighters down quickly, allowing a boss to run over an enemy tank, etc.) You will actually have to grab these not just make them appear, so don't shoot them!
The best place to get this one was Raiden Fighter Jet. Level 5 practice difficulty to practice. After you pass the 3 domes that hold the miclus there is a sliver metal bar across the middle of the screen. Go to that and go left to right/right to left across it to make 9-10 fairies appear.

Medal Collector
50
Acquire one hundred 100,000 point medals (across all games)
_________________________________________________
You will collect these medals in RFJ. You will get this eventually over the course of several games.

Or if you want it quickly. Go to RFJ difficulty to practice then set the medals to max (X-medal to 100k) and play Training level 5. You will get this quickly.

Allrounder
10
Pilot every fighter in all three Raiden Fighters games, including the hidden fighters
______________________________________________
You will have to play as every fighter and slave ship in the game. This includes the secret characters in each game!
I found it easies to do it this way: Mode Training, lives to 1. Go to weapon options and choose a fighter. Start the game and die. Go to weapons options again and choose another fighter. Repeat, until they are all done. Again it has to be done with the slaves also. Cycle through all three games for the achievement.

Bonus Chain
30
Raise the power of your Bonus Chain to the maximum (only in Raiden Fighters Jet)
_______________________________________________
Can only be done in Raiden Fighters Jet. Set the difficulty to practice and play through. You will have to take out 9 enemies (larger ones) within a set timeframe. I found that the level where you are in the clouds (level 30) to be the best since you get alot of big enemies that will dive bomb towards you giving you an easy kill.

Almost Master
50
Accumulate 10,000,000 bonus points (across all games)
__________________________________________________
You get this by almost getting hit (sparks fly off your ship). This over the course of several games.
Here is the best method that I have seen from Laorik (he used RFJ but I was told it can be done on RF2 with the same ship):

While Fairy's is in her bomb shooting mode, she actually absorbs bullets for points and they count for the almost master achievement. It took me about 1 1/2 play throughs of the level to get Almost Master.

Quick and Dead
50
Accumulate 10,000,000 Quick Shot bonus points (across all games)
________________________________________________
Quick shot bonuses are when you shoot down a large fighter before they can get a shot off. Play Training level 30 RFJ on practice to rack this up the quickest.

Secret Achievements

Final Boss: Raiden Fighters Jet
50
Beat the Final Boss of Raiden Fighters Jet (NORMAL mode, any difficulty)
__________________________________________________
Fight the final boss in RFJ on normal mode. This one is tricky.
This is how I got the achievement:
difficulty: practice (no one shoots at you, just don't crash into anything)

ship: Fairy

mode: NORMAL (DONT DO BOSS RUSH MODE)

Medals: OFF (Keeps the screen clear so you can shoot everything

The Level progress should be 5, 10, 15, 30, 45 (or 50), then "real battle mode" Phase 1, Phase 2. At the end of Phase 2 a plane takes off go shoot that down then you will get the achievement to pop. If you get the message "this level was difficult for you" start over since the achievement was missed. Also I believe that you need to kill every enemy that is spawned or at least close to it.

Final Boss: Raiden Fighters 2
50
Beat the Final Boss of Raiden Fighters 2 (NORMAL mode, any difficulty)
__________________________________________________
Set the game to normal mode. Choose practice difficulty. I believe you have to kill every enemy to get to the true boss or have a high shoot down rate at the end of the level. This should come naturally when you are going for the other RF2 achievements.

Shot Down
0
Shot down 256 times (across all games, doesn't count your last fighter in each game)
__________________________________________________
Just die alot. Trust me it will happen often on the harder diffuculties.

Going the Distance
10
Racked up 96 hours of gameplay (any game, mode or difficulty)
_________________________
Play for 96 hours of play time. You have to keep it going for 96 hours. If you want to keep your box running for a long period of time and have a turbo controller tape down A button, set the game to practice and let it run with the TURBO active. I recomend you installing it to the HD to make it run cooler and faster.

There you go. This is a easy 900 points and if you have some time 910 is very doable. The other 90 points would be very skill based so practice practice, practice. Check out Youtube videos and try to find tips on getting that 100,000,000 score...good luck. Its a great game at a great price so go check it out. If I left anything out or should add anything let me know (better tips on 100,000,000 and 50,000,000).

NOTE: Some of the achievement pictures are from the Japan version of the game. When I get the right tiles and make sure that they are the correct tiles/names I will update the guide.

Thanks to: Killer Scuzzy J, Laorik for adding to the guide and Thunder cg for starting the orginal but never finishing it.

Very good stuff. I have a few questions though.

When I started up a training mode on RFJ, the Ship select was grayed out and would not let me change it, is there an option that makes ship select unavailable if you change somthing?

Also could you clarify how to get the Secret fighters in Normal play. I know it involves holding the B button and pushing A on certain ships but what ships exactly?

Once you manage to get the gold bars to appear try and chain them together fast enough and the amount the gold bar gives you multiplies from 10k to 20k, 30k, 40k, and so on. Ive had them up to 90k. Not sure how high they go.

uhchevmnts101 just mentioned he thinks you have to chain the x-medals together fast to get them to increase in value, but I'd really like a clear clarification of what dictates the value of them, because honestly, if you could get most of the x-medals to 90k or 100k a piece, 50 million points would come fairly easily (at least to me) and 100 million wouldn't be that far behind with a little more practice. I haven't watched any japanese videos or anything, and some of those may have the key to what the real answer is, but this would greatly help.

I can also confirm for those still wondering that you absolutely can get the Final Boss of RFJ achievement on practice mode, you just have to kill just about every single enemy that ever appears on the screen and not die, so you need a ship with a huge spread and turning off medals helps you to see all of the enemies that sometimes may be covered up by medals.

Another one

Well I just got the final boss in RFJ, besides killing darn near everything and not dying, you also need to get into x-medal mode (where the little badges turn into the gold bars). I was in practice mode as well, so it's possible. I managed to get 10 mil, however I was WAY off 50 mil and nowhere near 100 mil (checking the boards makes me think I'm never going to get it as I can't seem to pickup the medals without dying). The x-medals increase by 10000 for each one you pick up, but only if it dropes AFTER the last x-medal you pick up. In other words, if you have 1 x-medal on the screen and you pick it up (worth 10000) the next one that drops will be worth 20000. If there are multiple medals on screen at once they will all be worth whatever the value was when they dropped. If you miss picking one up (it falls off the bottom of the screen) they reduce in value back down to 10000. Hope this helps.

Okay so from watching some of the Youtube vids it looks like the X-Medals do multiply 10k with each one that you grab that falls. So I adjusted the guide, now this will make it a little easier to attain for some....hopefully. I know I will give it a shot but doubt I will get to the 100 mark.

1CC each game's Normal Mode. Clearing via Simulation Level 35 or Simulation Level 50 in RFJ is ok

  • Score 10,000,000 (30)
  • Score 50,000,000 (40)
  • Score 100,000,000 (50)
Reach the requisite score. This works best in RFJ. According to Twiddle, the score achievements require reaching the milestone during gameplay, points added from clear bonuses have no effect on unlocking the achievement
  • Friendship (20)
Plug in a second controller, start a 2P game, and finish a level. Continue as much as you like
  • Miclus Hunter (30)
  • Fairy Guardian (30)
100 total Micluses revealed, 100 total Fairies collected. Pretty easily achieved after a handful of plays through Raiden Fighters Jet. In Simulation Level 05, hovering over each of the large turrets until they explode reveals a Miclus. In the same level, passing left and right over the crane near the end of the level reveals a handful of faeries
  • Medal Collector (50)
Learn how to make 100,000 point gold medals. Collect a total of 100 of them, which doesn't take long

RF1 & RF2: Medals increase in value when you collect one while no others are on the screen. Medals change type depending on whether you have 1, 2, or no slaves. Get the no slave medals up to 90 pts., the 1 slave medals up to 900 pts., the 2 slave medals up to 9000 pts. to make gold medals appear. Get 9 gold medals on screen at one time (hint: Micluses spew exactly 9 medals) and they'll explode and start increasing in value like the starting medals up to 100,000 pts

RFJ: A floating medal will follow you if you have a slave. Make it run into ground medals and other airborne medals and it will fuse with them to get bigger and become worth more. After collecting 31 other medals it makes a different sound and turns ginormous and purple. Collect it for 2,048,000 points. After this, reveal 9 regular medals either via Miclus or ground targets to cause them to explode and for gold medals to begin appearing instead. These work just like the increasing-value gold medals in RF1 and RF2
  • Allrounder (10)
The Allrounder achievement requires that you set the games to the final phase for ship unlocks in the options. Play as all of the visible ships in RF1, plus the slave of any ship. Play as all of the visible ships in RF2, the Dark Sword (Highlight the "?" and press Shot + Down-Right simultaneously), the slave of any normal ship, and the slave of the Miclus (Fairy). Play as all of the visible ships in RFJ, the slave of any normal ship, and the slave of the Miclus. This should unlock the achievement, you don't need to play as the slave of every ship
  • Bonus Chain (30)
Get the bonus chain multiplier up to x9 in RFJ. Easy as pie in Simulation Level 30 in the section before the boss where the small planes flying in from the top give Quickshot bonuses
  • Almost Master (50)
Scratch bullets to the tune of 10,000,000 points total. Any of the games' expert modes or boss rush modes should provide this in a few runs, just edge up next to the slow moving or vertical streams and watch the points come in
  • Quick and Dead (50)
Get 10m points worth of QUICKSHOT bonuses. RFJ Simulation Level 30 is a goldmine

  • Final Boss (RF2) (50)
  • Final Boss (RFJ) (50)
Get to the True Last Bosses of RF2 and RFJ and kill them. Any difficulty, doesn't matter. Don't continue, get 100% shot down on Stage 3 and Stage 6 (the giant boss stages) in RF2, do well enough to get into Real Battle on RFJ
  • Shot Down (0)
Get blown up 256 times. You get 3 chances per credit to get blown up, make the most of them!
  • Playing 1h. Over (10)
  • Playing 12h. Over (10)
  • Playing 24h. Over (10)
  • Playing 48h. Over (10)
  • Playing 96h. Over (10)
When the total playtime across the three games adds up to one of these numbers, the achievement unlocks. Simple enough. Yes, unlike Wartech/Senko no Ronde you actually have to play the games

The achievements related to bonuses are cumulative, and carry across playthroughs and between the three games. If you're playing with an eye towards scoring, you'll end up with them sooner or later no matter what.

The various mode clear and 1CC achievements can be done at any difficulty, including the practice difficulty where nothing fires at you. Except the Expert Mode where stuff still fires at you but you can credit feed that to your heart's content. Keep in mind that continuing on the last stage means you start the last stage over from the beginning.

Also, this could help get those score-based achievements:

Hopefully this helped.

Agreed. I figure an hour every night or every other night, plus the extended time I'll be playing for the next week or two since I just got the game will add up to 96 hours within a few months.

Now that I know a lot about scoring in the game, I'm starting to wonder if these score achievements will unlock in Score Attack or Full Run modes, or if it is just for arcade. Especially since Score Attack doesn't let you choose a difficulty and the achievement description specifically notes you need to be on Normal or higher. That would be nice to know before I waste a bunch of time getting good at either, but it seems no other person that speaks English have done this yet, so I can't get an answer yet.
