Introduction:

Welcome to Battlefield: Bad Company 2, the sequel to the first Battlefield: Bad Company, created by DICE. The game is much more user friendly than the first, and much more straight forward. Prepare to fall into combat and firefights for the safety of the United States. Chose from a full arsenal of weapons from AK's to LMG's to various Rocket Launchers. Fall into the goofy characters that are back to fight for the second time.

Breakdown:

The game is beyond straight forward. Shoot enemies and blow stuff up. All of the achievements can be gotten on the first playthrough.

Follow this
M-Com guide as you progress through the story to get your Satellite Uplink related achievements.

Step 1.

Start a new campaign on Easy. (There is one difficulty-related achievement, named It sucks to be right for beating the last level on Hard, but you can play the entire game on Easy first and then just load the last level). As you start, follow the M-Com guide. As you walk over the various weapons that your enemies drop, pick them up, and keep them if you like them. They will be added to your collectibles and can be used whenever you arrive to a weapon resupply station (appear as envelopes on your map). You’ll need to find 15 different weapons to get the collectible-based achievements. As you progress through the campaign, make sure to use the different weapon variants to get the "Get 50 kills with Shotguns, Snipers, Assault Rifles, Light Machine Guns, and Sub Machine guns". Once you finish the campaign, you should have unlocked:

-All story-based achievements.

-All ‘50 kills with X weapon’ achievements.
-All satellite uplink (M-Com station) achievements.
-All collectible weapon achievements.
-The achievements for destroying 100 and 1000 objects.
-The achievements for demolishing 1 and 50 houses.

If you are missing any of the ‘destroy objects’ or ‘demolish houses’ achievements once you have finished the campaign, load up "Heavy Metal" in the campaign as you take control of a UAV and destroy the houses/objects around the enemies that you are supposed to take out. Rinse and Repeat until unlocked.

Step 1.5
Once you have completed Step 1 and gotten ALL of the campaign related achievements, you should be missing but one single campaign achievement.

Go to "My Campaign" in the main menu and choose the level "Airborne”, and then set the difficulty to Hard. Completing this final level will give you your final campaign related achievement.

WOO! You've made it this far. By now you should have 600/1000
in your pocket.
The next part is to get the remaining 400. This all takes place online, in the Multiplayer. How quickly you will unlock these largely depends on your skill and how patient you are with the game.

Step 2

Multiplayer. Oh, how some dread you. But it must be done (if you want the achievements, that is)! If you do not want to play the online legit, please visit the Achievement Trading Thread. If you're playing the online part legit, you are in for a fun experience! Find yourself a group of buddies to play with on your epic adventure of leveling up and gaining achievements. While you’re playing, make sure to gain experience with each of the classes by killing people and completing objectives. Take a note of the various online achievements, so you’ll know how to unlock them. The list of awards and their description is also important. Most of the achievements are straight forward. If you need any help on how to get these certain achievements, check the guide and follow the instructions on how to get the achievement you are looking for.
Note: All multiplayer achievements are only obtainable in ranked matches.

SPECACT DLC:
The SPECACT guns are different variations of the final gun unlocked in each class. You must use this gun to unlock the specific achievement. Get a 5 kill streak, 8 kills in one round, and a total of 100 kills with the weapon all together.

Onslaught DLC:Gather yourself 2-4 members to be on your squad(4 is highly recommended). Always have someone sticking back for any level just to make sure you can keep progressing. If one person stays alive, you can respawn as many times as you need. Take out enemy vehicles as a first priority. Clear a area and then they will start sending in reinforcements. Find a good spot of where they spawn from and make sure no one is in the vicinity of the flag. If someone is, you won't take over the flag. This DLC shouldn't be too hard with some buddies. You can start on Hardcore and go right at it. But I recommend going through it on a easier difficulty first to figure out where the enemies/vehicles spawn.

Conclusion:
Well, by now you should be well on your way to a full 1000. Follow the guide closely and you should have no troubles getting all the achievements. If you miss anything in the process, refer to the Achievement Guide.

Campaign: finish Airborne on Hard

To get this achievement you have to beat the game (preferably on Easy).
Go to "My Campaign" in the main menu and choose the level "Airborne”, and then set the difficulty to Hard. By now you should have a feel of the game. You shouldn't have any problems with completing this, as the level is fairly straight forward and very short.

Taxi! - 15
Campaign: drive 5 km in any land vehicle

Do not worry about getting this one; it’s almost an automatic achievement. You’ll drive plenty of vehicles during the campaign. If by some chance you haven’t unlocked this upon completion of the campaign, load up "Sangre Del Toro" and just drive around.

Demolish - 15
Campaign: demolish 1 house

Refer to Demolish Part 2.

Demolish Part 2 - 30
Campaign: demolish 50 houses

To have it count as demolishing a house, you must shoot out the surrounding walls with explosives(i.e. grenade launchers/rocket launchers/etc). Then the building will make a noise as if massive amounts of metal were bending, and the roof will collapse onto the ground. This counts as a building being "Demolished." You do not have to cause the buildings to collapse, but if they do collapse while you’re running through your mission, it will count towards this achievement.

  • If you by some chance haven’t unlocked this on your first play-through, load up the level "Heavy Metal" and use the UAV to destroy the buildings around the enemies. Rinse and repeat until you have this unlocked.

Assault Rifle Aggression - 15
Campaign: 50 kills with assault rifles

Just as the description says. Get 50 assault rifle kills in the campaign.

Here is a list of the Assualt rifles.

Sub Machine Gun Storm - 15
Campaign: 50 kills with sub machine guns

Just as the description says. Get 50 kills with sub machine guns.

Here is a list of sub machine guns.

  • SCAR-L & SCAR-LS
  • AKS-74u & AKS-74u R

Light Machine Gun Lash Out - 15
Campaign: 50 kills with light machine guns

Just as the description says. Get 50 light machine gun kills in the campaign.

Here is a list of the Light Machine Guns.

Sniper Rifle Strike - 15
Campaign: 50 kills with sniper rifles

Just as the description says. Get 50 kills with Sniper Rifles.

Here is a list of the Sniper Rifles.

Wall of Shotgun - 15
Campaign: 50 kills with shotguns

Just like the description says, get 50 kills with Shotguns. Don't hesitate to use shotguns at long ranges. If they are out in the open and in sight, you will more than likely get a hit marker.

Here is a list of the Shotguns.

  • TOZ-194 & TOZ-194S
  • SPAS-12 & SPAS-12S
  • USAS-12 & USAS-12S

The assault class is the very first class to make a choice of. The main weapon is assault rifles, and the special ability of this class is to resupply yourself and teammates with ammo. To unlock more weapons in this class, you must get points with this as your spawned class. (Getting kills/destroying vehicles/destroying M-Com positions/etc).

You need 20,000 XP to unlock the third weapon for this Achievement.

The engineer class is the second class you can choose to spawn with. It includes a submachine gun, a repair tool and RPGs/Rocket Launchers.

To unlock more weapons in this class, you must get points with this as your spawned class. (Getting kills/destroying vehicles/destroying M-Com positions/etc).

You need 16,000 XP to unlock the third weapon for this Achievement.

Medic Expert - 15

Battlefield Expert - 50
Online: obtain all unlocks in any kit or all Vehicle unlocks

Last Vehicle Unlock: 8,000 XP points (V ALT W)

Last Vehicle Package Unlock: 8,000 XP (High Power Optics Package)
Last Assualt Unlock: 47,000 XP (M16A2)
Last Engineer Unlock: 43,000 XP (UMP-45)
Last Medic Unlock: 57,000 XP (MG3)
Last Recon Unlock: 34,000 XP (M95 Sniper)

15 Minutes of Fame - 15
Online: play for 15 minutes

Simple stated, play online for a total of 15 minutes. This is cumulative and does not have to be a full game. Many games last longer then 15 minutes and this will probably be your very first achievement.

Mission... Accomplished. - 15
Online: in a round do one kill with the knife, the M60 and the RPG-7

Like it says. In one single round, you must kill someone with the knife, the M60 and the RPG-7. To kill someone with the knife, press
near an enemy to get an instant kill. To have a M60 in your Medic kit you have to reach 25,000 XP in that kit, and to have a RPG-7 you must spawn as an Engineer. Press and shoot it at an enemy.

Pistol Man - 15
Online: get 5 kills with every handgun in the game

Self-explanatory. Switch to the handgun you have selected in your class by pressing
. Then get 5 kills with that handgun. Once you have accomplished this, repeat with a different handgun. You unlock the last handgun at Level 13. Your stats screen may say otherwise, but it is level 13.
Airkill - 15
Online: roadkill an enemy with any helicopter

An easy way to get this achievement is by using a UAV station while playing online. Fly up high until you find yourself some lonely group of troops or a lone sniper. Once you find yourself some enemies, fly down low and hit your enemy with some speed. Should be an instant kill. Most enemies don't expect a helicopter inside of a building either.

Alternatively, a slightly harder way is to take control of a full sized helicopter and just crash/fly low into an enemy.

Et Tu, Brute? - 15
Online: knife 5 friends

To obtain this achievement, you have to knife 5 people on your friends list. It can be the same person all 5 times. The easiest game type I found to get this in is Rush. Sneak up somewhere so that you are out of the enemies’ sight (try your best). Have your buddy keep running up to you. You can also have another friend be a medic, and keep reviving the knifed teammate until you unlock your achievement.

Demolition Man - 15
Online: get 20 demolish kills

Demolish kills are when a building collapses on someone and kills them. To know it counted as a demolish kill, watch for when it will say "Demolish 2.0" as the weapon, just like in the campaign for demolishing houses. There must be enemies inside of the house/building. This may be the most time consuming achievement in the multiplayer since it is so rare to find a building that can collapse and actually getting it to collapse on an enemy. An easier way is to call in mortar strikes with the Recon Kit on objectives in the "Rush" game mode. There are bound to be enemies inside, and it will weaken the building and possibly cause it to collapse.
Just look for the areas of buildings/wall that have not been blown out yet, and call in a mortar strike on that position.

A few typos to fix:

Destruction part 2: should have "parts of vehicles" and "trees", not 'parks' and 'tress'

Several descriptions have it written as "a enemy", should be "an enemy", not big, but makes it slightly more perfect.

How do you get et tu brute? Do your friends have to die? Because I've tried stabbing friends (in both hardcore and regular mode) and nothing happens. Also, does it have to be people from your friends list? Squad? Or just people on your team? I've figured out you can't just stab the same person, because I've tried that already.

No it just means you unlock it early. Also they would never do a achievement that isn't achievable.

No sorry you can't see. Trust me, just play through the campaign and play it. If you can't unlock it after you beat it. Just load up heavy metal.

Step 1.5
Once you have completed Step one and gotten ALL of the campaign related achievements. You should be missing but one single campaign achievement.
Completing the final level "Airborne" on Hard to get your final Campaign achievement!

For this achievement, how would you recommend getting it?

I thought you might have to play through it all on normal then all on hard, or whether you can complete the normal campaign and skip straight onto the last mission on hard or whether you should do the whole campaign straight away on hard, what do you suggest?

Thanks

nononono. Go to "My campaign" in the main menu. Choose airborne. And then choose your difficulty as hard. Then just complete it.

I found this thread before you told me in the M-Com guide but thanks anyway

That must be pretty simple then, i'm guessing the difficulty settings remain as easy, normal and hard, so can you earn all the achievements for completeing missions on the easiest difficulty or are you required to play through on normal like before?

No there is no difficulty except for completeing the final level on hard that you can just load up. So yes, you can beat the game on easy and get everything Just as step 1 says And the game is very linear. Hard to get lost lol. I'd say impossible.

I did read the roadmap just thought it was too good to be true, looks an easy list.

I'm disappointed that you don't have to get every award, reach the highest multiplayer rank and get the 10002 kills again

Are you talking about Squad Player? I've got the badge 4 times and it's just been my friend and I. It shouldn't matter how many people are in the squad just as long as your the number one squad.

Also a note for Squad Player is that if you do Squad Deathmatch it seems to a much easier badge to obtain. Basically just win and you get the badge. That's how I've gotten it 4 times because god knows my friend and I aren't good enough to best squad in a rush game.

I can also confirm that Complete Blackout unlocks without getting them all. However even though the tracking says I got 22/24 I'm pretty sure I got 23/24. I went a redid an early level that the game said I was 1/2 on but I could not find either com station and I seem to recall getting both in that mission. I even pulled up the map and made sure I was looking the right spots.
