Post Is Dead Rising: Case Zero worth 400 Points?

Just tried a searching but it kept saying there was a fatal error, so i hope this question hasn't already been asked but;

Is a demo really worth 400 points? Even if it is a stand alone game!

well for 200 achieve points for 400 points its really good point wise to buy, if you plan on getting dr2 in 3 weeks its a real good chance to get a feel for things, if not this might be the thing that hooks you into buying the game.

as a standalone title i rather liked it, its everything i hoped for and more, altho i only played it through twice for the achievements you could have hrs or game play finding clothes testing the weps mixing drinks and general zombie brutal murders.

its also a way of getting a decent headstart on dr2 level wise and giving you a advantage earlier levels.

for 400 points you really can't go wrong with this title, a full play through is something like couple of hrs, most achieves can be done in 1 play through if you try, if you really are concerned there is a trial version but if you follow the story upto the ambulance itll end the demo, you could explore around with weps without doing the story and see if its your cup of tea.

Put it this way I never played the first Dead Rising but when i seen this for 400 ms points i figured i would get my money worth, and i did! best 400 ms points i've spent and to think i was going to buy Zuma instead I might even go back and buy/play the first Dead Rising then buy the second I really enjoyed this title.

400msp for a game like this is a steal, honestly. But if you're still sitting there thinking about it, even though its only 400msp, then its probably because its either not your usual type of game, or you may be worried about the content (this isn't directed specifically at the op, but anyone reading this thread).

DR2 Case Zero is not my usual type of game. I think a third person hack-n-slash can find its way into any type of gamers' collection, but there are further elements to this game that set it on its own level. You are given free dominion over Still Creek, but you have a certain amount of objectives that need to be completed before a time limit. Indeed, there is a time factor. Time limits in a video game are always very frustrating imo; if you are in the same camp, you have been warned. The time restriction actually forced me to play through the game several times over a series of different save files. I think, in the end, I may have spent around 10 hours on the game, not having fun slaughtering zombies the whole time, but trying to squeeze tasks into a small amount of time. I suck, I know, but this isn't my usual type of game.

For those reading this who may be concerned about the long list of warnings accompanying the ESRB rating, there's really not much to be concerned about, tbh. I would give it: Mild Language, Blood and Gore, Use of Alcohol, and Intense Violence. Yes, the violence is heavy, but c'mon, its zombies, and the blood and gore is over the top.

Slaughtering zombies with a chainsaw, a spiked bat, and the broad sword is epic fun. There are plenty of things to do, and the achievements are certainly attainable. 400 msp is a reasonable price for this arcade title, and I certainly do not regret my purchase. The only thing I would say is that if you are concerned about the time element, you may want to reconsider; I know I will probably not be purchasing other titles in the DR series because of that factor.

It's not really a demo, it's a nice little bonus mission. It's kinda short (an hour or two), but it's fun while it lasts. To be fair, this type of thing should have been a pre-order bonus or an unlock, but to be fair, I spent five bucks on worse things.

If you consider it as DLC, you'll enjoy it. It's a nice taste of the game while not being a demo. You get an early look at some characters and even some development with them. It's a nice little budget title.

To be fair, after I beat it, I thought it should have been a free promotional product, but still enjoyed it in the end.

I've definitely paid more than 400 points for worse DLC than this. And I've even had to buy the game beforehand.

In all seriousness though, I liked getting a chance to try out the gameplay, and didn't mind paying a bit, since it's all content that won't be in the final game.

I was skeptical at first too, but I figured I only have 600 points left and nothing better to buy. In terms if completion it took me 5 hours, so $1 for an 1 hour gameplay is pretty good.

Oh, yeah! Sure, it might've been 1 hour long, but it was sure as hell was fun and totally worth it for a measly 400MSP! Best 400MSP I've ever spent!

Like someone else said, it should've really been included in the main game. It's fun yeah, and I'm stoked to be playing Dead Rising again (loved the first), but it just seems unnecessary

I absolutely HATED the first Dead Rising. Bought this to give it a shot, & it made me want to buy Dead Rising 2, really hyped for it now. 400 points = bargain, short but very, very sweet.

It took me 2 full and 2 half playthroughs to get all 200 points. A full playthoguh is almost 3 hours. The achievements are a breeze.

This game was paced and flowed WAY better than the first DR. I dont know if that will be how the full game is.

Even minus the story bits, there is a lot to do in this game.

Well worth 400MS points.

If you're on the fence about buying it or you know you will, definitely pick it up. 400MS is a steal.

If you're not really into Dead Rising, it's at least an easy 200 achievement points.

It is most certainly worth it. For five dollars you get to run around and kill zombies with every thing you can lay hands on, whether it be a chainsaw or a bar stool.
