Halo: Reach DLC Achievement Guide

Halo: Reach DLC Achievement Guide

Noble Map Pack and Defiant Map Pack Guide

Achievement Overview
+ Total number of achievements: 10
+ Total number of offline achievements: 0
+ Type of achievements: DLC Achievements (download only, 1600 points for both packs)
+ Total time to attain all collectable achievements: roughly 2 or 3 hours max
+ DLC Content Name(s): Noble Map Pack and Defiant Map Pack
+ Glitched achievements known: Totally Worth It can be a little buggy in terms of the medals being awarded to the player, the achievement is known to be fine.

Can I get these achievements without the DLC downloaded? No you cannot.

* please note that the defiant map pack achievements are not yet listed in this thread but will be in the future when I get round to adding them in *

Totally Worth It - 50
Noble 1: Earn a Double Kill from the Grave in multiplayer Matchmaking.

Earning a double kill from the grave is something that doesn't happen very much. The key to getting this achievement is to make sure that you time your actions right and also having low health when you go into the battle will ensure that you'll die faster so you'll be dead when you get the kills. The easiest way by far to get this is in multi team. With lots of enemies about, you just need to time your grenade throw right. Additionally a playlist like Big Team Battle or Invasion can be other good playlists for this achievement.

Both Barrels - 50
Noble 1: Earn a Double Kill with the shotgun in multiplayer Matchmaking.

As long as you're in the right place at the right time, make sure you have a shotgun fully reloaded and ready. Using corners to your advantage is best when down to this achievement. The Living Dead playlist is probably the best playlist to go into when trying to get this. Usually you can probably get several double kills with the shotgun per game. Swordbase is a particularly good map for this.

Cross-Mappin' - 50
Noble 1: Kill a player at long range with the DMR in a matchmade Slayer game.

For this achievement you must make sure that when you get the kill, your cross hair isn't red. The best playlist and map to get this on is Hemorrhage whilst playing Big Team Slayer in the Big Team Battle playlist. Be sure that the enemy doesn't have anywhere to hide and regain health, which will make it easier for you. There are multiple ledges in many maps which have a perfect view across maps, so be sure to time your shots and make sure you have a good line of fire.

You Ate All the Chips - 42
Noble 1: Collect all of the flags in a matchmade Stockpile game.

Quite a hard achievement this one. Needs to be done in any playlist that allows Stockpile gametype, but for reassurance Team Objective is the playlist to be in. You have to capture all flags that respawn on the map in a single countdown, you don't have to bring them all back and score yourself. There are 4 flags within a single countdown round in stockpile they all must be captured before the timer resets. Once completed, unlocks for the whole team.

Thanks and credit for helping goes to; Shinobi273

You Blew it Up! - 13
Noble 1: Blow up the research facility in a matchmade Invasion game on Breakpoint.

Give it time and it'll come. This must be done in an Invasion game on the map Breakpoint in the Invasion playlist. You must complete the first phase, then move onto the second phase. The second phase requires the elites to bring a bomb that is to be detonated in research facility. Upon completely this phase (phase two) the achievement unlocks for the whole team.

Thanks and credit for helping goes to; Shinobi273

Poppin' & Lockin' - 25
Noble 1: Destroy a vehicle using Armor Lock in a matchmade game.

Any playlist which provides armor lock and a vehicle such as a Ghost is best for this achievement. Most players don't tend to try and splatter nowadays because it's expected that armor lock will be used however playing a game of slayer in the Big Team Battle playlist is the best option. Open and spaced out maps such as Hemorrhage are best for this type of achievement and you have to kill the player whilst they are in a vehicle, (obviously blowing up the vehicle at the same time), easy.

Offensive Driver - 20
Noble 1: Earn a kill in a matchmade Rocket Race game.

Earning a kill in a matchmade Rocket Race game is actually easier than you may first think, however you'll need to play the Multi Team playlist and try and get the Rocket Hog Race game on Hemorrhage. Best done whilst operating the rocket gun on the back of the vehicle however if you get out of the Warthog you should have enough time to try and get a shot before you are warped back into the Warthog.

Because the vehicles cannot be destroyed if someone is in them, you'll need to first try and tip another teams Warthog, best done when using the back rocket gun, then finishing them off when they fall out of the vehicle. It's not too difficult to get a kill and you only need one. You can also splatter them rather than shooting them and it'll still count.

Thank you for reading my achievement guide and I hope it has proven useful to those who still need the achievements. I may try get some videos up with the thread as videos detailing how to get the achievements are probably better.

If you have any questions feel free to reply to this thread and I'll be updating this thread when more information is given/I find anything more out about the achievements. Please bump the thread often as well so it can help more people.

You Ate All the Chips - 42G
Noble 1: Collect all of the flags in a matchmade Stockpile game.

Stockpile is in the team objective playlist. There are 4 flags on the map. When boosting, collect all the flags but do not score them (it is almost impossible to get all 4 before the scoring timer runs out). Once you have all 4 nearby, make sure you have some time on the clock and put all 4 in the score area. Achievement unlocks for the entire team once all 4 flags are scored at one time. Flags placed by opposing team still count.

You Blew it Up! - 13G
Noble 1: Blow up the research facility in a matchmade Invasion game on Breakpoint.

Invasion playlist on Breakpoint. The Elites are assaulting, the first objective is KotH type and spawns a bomb upon completion. The second objective is assault type where the Elites need to plant the bomb. The entire team gets the achievement when the bomb explodes.

Nice guide, i think the easiest way to get Totally Worth It - 50G
will be in the multiteam playlist. If you get elite slayer you can usually tag someone with a stickie before they kill you and you have a chance of a random player being near by. I hope to try this tonight.

The way I got Cross Mappin was that I was shooting at a banshee flying around and the person died, same thing with a buddy of mine of Spire, he shot and killed the guy flying the falcon. The were both over water too. I hope that helps with that.

Scanned through the post and saw nothing about offensive driver. You can run them over and still get the achievement, that's how I did it. I wasn't even trying to run the guy over, he fell off his mongoose and I hit him and it popped.

Thanks for the tid bits. Over all these do not seem that difficult. Only the stockpile "You ate all the chips" one was confusing to me. the same person needs to collect all 4 flags, right? Can your team bring the flags to just outside and have one person put them all in the circle?

It doesn't matter who puts the flags in, and the whole team gets the achievement. I just got it playing for real, but I second trying to get all the flags together outside of the ring before putting them all in, especially if the timer's almost out and you don't have them all yet. So you don't have to recollect the flags you already have. The biggest problem is going to be enemies juggling all of your flags out of the ring at the last second just to stop you from scoring.

My first game with my buddy was the INVASION one and luckily we got that achievement.

The one that seems irritating with me is the STOCKPILE one. Everyone thinks every game is slayer seemingly. I might need to do that OFF the DLC to obtain it.

Need three more (double kill from grave, stockpile, the DMR longshot one).

Is it possible to get Poppin' & Lockin' without getting a Rejection medal?

I'm trying not to ever get a Rejection or Firebird in my multiplayer medal chest and would hate to see an achievement that requires it.

You don't get a rejection medal for not getting splattered. At least, I'm pretty sure you don't. I think it's only for explosions, such as sticky grenades. I've never seen it from just getting shot or whatever, either.

I was under the impression you get Rejections for anything that would normally kill you.

Oh wait, I'm stupid, just got an idea: why not test it in a custom game?

I've gotten the medal when attacked by:

Scorpion/Wraith
Fuel Rod
Rockets

If you're hit with something that would otherwise kill you with full shields, you'll get a rejection medal. Splattering may or may not be included in those circumstances, since you usually die given the driver hits you semi-accurately.

I got a Rejection medal last nite when a ghost rammed me. And of course, with my luck in Halo, the ghost didnt blow up. It ramped over me then turned and waited. Killed me quickly after I came out of Armor Lock.

Quite a hard achievement this one. Needs to be done in any playlist that allows Stockpile gametype, but for reassurance Team Objective is the playlist to be in. Your team, not you specifically has to capture all flags that are present on the map at one time. This is best done on Powerhouse as there is only 4 flags available at one time making it easy to score. Flags that are within the enemy territory from a previous round also still count as flags.
That is wrong.

Stockpile as a gametype has 4 flags, it isn't map dependant. Also you misunderstood what I said about enemies. I meant that if an enemy puts a flag in your score area, it will count for the achievement. It doesn't matter how it happens, as long as all 4 flags are scored at once, the achievement unlocks. I said that to emphasize that you do not need to personally score all 4 flags to get the achievement.

This one will be pretty hard if not boosted. From time to time people come off the mongoose for various reasons. You should be able to assassinate someone quickly if they attempt to run off or flip a mongoose. I would imagine that running them over may work as well but it will not kill them if they are facing you. Must be done in the Multi Team playlist.
This is wrong. When you're on the mongoose you are invincible but as soon as you fall off you are vulnerable to damage. I was playing Rocket Race earlier with my brother and I managed to get it just by knocking a team off of their mongoose and then shooting another rocket to get a kill. My brother even managed to get a kill with the actual mongoose.

So as long as they aren't in a mongoose, they can be killed by a rocket. It's quite easy really, the hardest part is actually getting people to vote for Rocket Race.

EDIT: I believe you need to be on your own mongoose to get the kill as well. I fired a couple of rockets at them whilst I was on the ground and it wasn't until the game automatically put me back on our mongoose that I managed to get a kill.

Tips for Cross- Mappin'

Me and a friend just got it on the Big Team Slayer playlist, map: Paradiso.
We sat on top of the mountain and trying to get the achievement. My friend got it from a DMR kill on a player, crosshair was blue. I got it from shooting a Banshee down with my DMR (killing the player), crosshair was also blue. So it's also possible to get it from destroying vehicles.

Mountain on Paradiso is a good place to get the achievement

to boost the grave kills achievement i think its best to boost.
one person (going for the achievement) has a rocket and the 2 sacrificial players stand next to each other.
a fair distance is required so that the person going for the achievement can shoot the rocket while the sacrificial lamb headshots him with a snipe and thn the rocket will explode on the 2 people, getting a double kill from the grave

This is a little more difficult than others, although given the right driver in the right vehicle in a ghost for examples makes it very easy. Big Team Battle is the best playlist. Lots of people which means big maps and vehicles. Hemorrhage is again a good map for these achievements. Simply wait till the ghost is just in front of you and Armor Lock. You need to destroy the vehicle and the driver. Practice makes perfect.

I wish to share how I got this achievement.
Map: SWORD BASE (I know, no vehicles on this map, just wait).
Playlist: ELITE SLAYER
How it unlocked: As you all know, releasing your armor lock removes enemy shields. It also damages the enemy when they are already out of shield.
So I melee atack an enemy (this removes their shield), then dropped my armor lock right next to him and released 1 second after. During this second, a teammate fired a few shots against this enemy, decreasing even more their health to 5%/10%. So when I released the armor lock, I damage the enemy, he dies and achievement unlocked. No vehicles. Just one on one close combat, and a little bit of luck.
Hope this helps

Haven't got all of them just yet, but I've been watching my buddy and I saw some nifty tricks for a couple of them.

For Cross-Mappin', what we ended up doing was playing BTB on Hemmorage. I got the sniper rifle and we both went directly to the cave and took cover. I searched for an enemy on the opposite side of the canyon and put a round into his lower torso, than my buddy took him out with a headshot immediately after. I ended up doing the same thing for myself, sniping the torso, than switching to DMR and head-shotting before he could take cover and it popped up after a minute.

The other tricky one he nabbed was Totally Worth It. It was done on the same match as Cross-Mappin. He found an area fairly secluded from enemy fire and, with luck, managed to draw in a warthog with a turret guy in the back. After he got them close enough and he was about to die, he stuck a plazzie to the front of the vehicle, died, and it went off, giving him the double kill from the grave and hence his achievement.

Both Barrels we both haven't done yet, but I'm going to assume defense on Invasion is probably the best method to get this along with some timing and luck.

Poppin' and Lockin' I managed to get in the same match as the first two I mentioned. I just drove a ghost up to an enemy and got out and started to run away. The enemy was stupid enough to get in it and try to ram me, so I just clicked on Armor Lock and it was over. It was my luck that my enemy wasn't very intelligent.

Than the last 3 with Rocket Race, Stockpile, and Invasion I haven't even tried for yet. Assuming Invasion will come eventually and Rocket Race will come eventually with luck, but I'm still trying to understand just how the stockpile one works. Do you have to get all 4 flags or is it your whole team has to get all 4. And do you have to get them all back to base simultaneously or do you just have to have all 4 captured at some point in the match?

Infection dude. You START with a shotgun and if you're reasonably good it'll come in a couple matches.
