Wow this game..

I was in love with it for the first 2 hours.

Got boring within 8.

Then at the end..the glass traps...WHAT THE FUCK?

Went from my top 10 games to FUCK THIS SHIT I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE PLAY IT EVER.

How did that happen? Horrible game design? Boring ass later levels that were less fun than tedious? Bad story? Stupid ass stupid fucking everything?

Really hate to say it, but after chapter 4, you will hate this game. It shows its sub-parness way too much by then and when you have "glass walls" that are invisible, let alone the massive amounts of '2 inch cant walkover without jumping' glitches..sigh..this game kinda sucked. :/

Really enjoyed it for awhile. Was one of my favorite games ever until I got further into the game. Dollhouse level is utter bullshit and complete faggotry.

Wish I could revoke my 90/100 I gave it for a more fitting 60/100.

EDIT: And then the slide parts? WHAT THE FUCK WERE THEY THINKING? I just watched the real Alice In Wonderland twice (not the shitty remake with Johnny Depp) and she NEVER slid down anything. SHE FELLL. The horrible parts where you have to dodge random splooge areas of dark matter? REALLY? I mean REALLY?! They were obviously low budget and they thought those horrible parts were...FUN?

No. Just no.

I really enjoyed this game...

Although, I agree, I loved it for the first few hours, amazed, fascinated and completely addicted....then the gameplay gets really repetitive.

Platforms...jump...more platforms....float....more platforms...slash.

I think the game would actually have been better shorter, and I usually say the opposite for games these days.

Excellent game, but they drew out each level too much to the point where you begin to flag and just want to get onto the next part of the story.

I was pretty impressed with the game considering it was free with the preorder of crysis 3.

The game is good, not the best, but it is definitely repetitive and I did get bored sometimes, the things I do for cheevos, now I'm doing the original game, which is boring.

Yeah... I just can't stress enough, that the original "Alice" game (the DLC) should be played first (and I mean ALL of it - no matter how difficult or irritating some parts might be)... before starting Madness Returns.

I don't hate the original (shoot... I got it first on PC a LONG TIME AGO), but it just doesn't play as well as the sequel. Most people I know, that started the sequel, then went and played the original... were less tolerant of it, because they got spoiled by the newer game!

On a side note... if you aren't playing this game with Dolby Digital Surround Sound (with an LFE subwoofer)... you are missing out on one of THE BEST sounding games on the Xbox 360! I have a LOT of Xbox 360 games that you would think would have really awesome sound, but this one is still the leader.

You can see the thread here that I started about the sound for this game!

Surprisingly... a LOT of people STILL aren't playing the Xbox 360 on an HDTV, let alone have a decent sound system. That (to me) is just nuts! Everything looks SOOOOOOO much better in HD. I'm really glad the Xbox One is ONLY going to work on an HDTV. It'll force the gamers to upgrade and see what they are missing!!

Absolutely agree.

I made the mistake of NOT doing this - learn from my mistake, kids.

you do realize the game is intended as a SEQUEL (not adaptation) to the BOOKS (not the various movies), right?

Fully enjoyed the game even on the later levels even though I have to admit that I like the first chapter best. Anyway I think this is a great game and when I see developers put heart and thought into their product I can look over a few design flaws.
Always glad to see something stand out from this flood of generic shovelware shooters.

I actually loved this game =) Though I admit it had its problems.

I actually couldn't stand the first disney version of alice in wonderland. I prefer my alice dark and twisted. Seems more in keeping with the books. The disney version was far too light and fluffy.

I liked th doll house level but I have to admit it was very frustrating at times.

I love this game for how original it is. I like games that have something unique about them.

Screw those freaking peach collecting mini games, I'm up to the 2nd of what sadly looks like 3. I'm at the big where the stupid wasps are firing on the burning houses.

I outgrew this on my Atari eons ago, what a waste of freaking time. I only started the game because I thought I'd be an interesting 1000, but like the guy at the top said NO just NO!

The game was alright, though I must agree it was a little too stretched out with nothing to ease the pain. The game could have stopped after the 4th chapter and nothing of value would have been lost. But no, Alice had to go from Wonderland to it's interpretation of a building from a Saw movie. I guess this is what you get for letting Tim Burton make a film remake a year before and basing the game off that.

I agree with this. Chapters 4 and 5 were okay, and 6 was just the boss, so it wasn't that bad. I hated chapter 3 with a passion, it felt like it was drug on for too long, and I hated the theme. Ultimately this game was a little disappointing for me, because I had played and loved the original (on PC when it first came out), and it seems like a higher budget could have made this game great. Shame Here's hoping they make a prequel or sequel with more money.

I'm loving the hell out of this so far but I'm not liking the sound of these glass walls in the later chapters, I'm most way through chapter 3 after 9 hours (long game!) but I'm hoping my enthusiasm will keep up.

I just got done playing through the entire game this week and I have no idea what you're complaining about. Glass walls? What? I seriously don't know what you're talking about. You mean the clearly smudged glass walls in chapter 5 that you can CLEARLY see, and even if you die, you start practically right where you died? That part was enough for you to go from 90% to 60%? Maybe you're easily frustrated.

This was a good game; kind of a throwback to old school 3D platformers with amazing art design. It looks fantastic. I didn't run into any frustration, particularly since the checkpoints are extremely frequent.

I recommend it, 8/10

I enjoyed this game very much -some good old school platformer fun here. And the addition of original McGee's Alice was a very nice touch.

While I disagree with you about the game sucking, it's nice to see someone that hated the Johnny Depp version of the movie lol. Serious fail. I so wanted that movie to be American McGee meets Tim Burton, but no. Alice has so much potential, really Disney, another "but I don't want to get married wah" plot? I know it may be hard to swallow, brace yourselves Disney, but it turns out chicks can have other problems *gasp*

I absolutely loved the game.

I really enjoyed the collectable memories - putting together Alice's story - and exploring the different chapters. The characters were fantastic. Yes, - lots and lots of platforming ... but, I think this game had it's fair share of reprieve from that bit as well, though.

I actually find it hard to explain why I loved the game as much as I did - the mechanics weren't anything novel or groundbreaking - but I enjoyed the story and thought the design was beautiful.

All my rambling aside - I think it's worth it to check it out - most definitely.

I came up with a new name for this game which I believe is more suiting.

Alice Collectibles Return

The OP is an idiot. Its a great 3D platfomer, something awesome in a gen where the only platformers are 2D and usually only XBLA games or mario. I also have to disagree with the score this site gave it. At the very least it deserves a 95, or dare I say it- a 100 for visuals!

Seriouisly, the artwork in this game is easily better than most games this gen! sure the story wasn't that great, but neither is any alice thing for that matter. Alice in wonderland, in any form, is primarily about creating a wonderful, unique world. This game simply took that and gave it an epic, dark twist!

I will always look fondly upon this game. Was it perfect? No, but then, what is? It was different, and that alone is enough for me. It was beautiful, and considering I generally suck at platforming, I didn't run into any overly frustrating parts, and certainly didn't encounter any glitches. However, as others have said, I would definitely recommend playing the first one beforehand, not so much for the story, but because it doesn't hold up as well to the sequel.
