Did anyone actually USE Javik?

This was one of the first missions I did and I used the Prothean on ONE side mission. Never really saw any value with using him instead of Liara or Garrus or even James. Anyone see any value? Am I missing something here regarding his usefulness?

I kept him for my whole first playthrough. He adds a lot of interesting dialogue. Has some funny things to say.

But purely on combat efficiency, ya we have better options than him imo.

ive used him quite a bit, just because i find him interesting. i also love the fact that bioware created dialogue for him and others regarding him throughout the game, they could have just been lazy and kept him quiet in cutscenes, but people interact with him because he's obviously unique.

i used him quite a bit, but only because the overall squad given to you was weak

Only liked Garrus & Liara, Ashley pisses me off, james felt like some forced military sterotype, EDI was more for shock which was interesting but i didn't like her as a squad member & tali died after i sided with the geth

Squad was pretty rubbish this time round tbh, only salvaged by my true love of Garrus lmao, been my main squad member through all playthroughs

Javik was good compared to the rest. would have happily traded him for a Krogan though

pissed there was no Krogan squad member

Fucking love the Krogan

I am with Blaze while Javik isn't the best fighter his particle beam weapon and dark channel are amazingly devistating weapons to use. The unlimited ammo is something I will think about when it comes to my insane playthrough, but for anything less I stuck mainly with Garrus and Liara.

Yes, liked the DLC even if it was short, and he was so damn icecold funny.

I started this mid-way, and I use him for his Dark Channel power which seems useful to me.

I didn't use him that much (I recruited him quite late I thought), the only mission I remember taking him along for sure was Thessia, but I'm positive I brought him along on more. But from what I did see of him, I'd repeat what ol'Veedrock said.

I don't think Jahvik is a very useful squad member but he has some of the best lines in the game. I took him with me to complete the Thessia mission and he has some interesting and funny dialog during it.

Thumbs up Yay!!!

I use JAVIK everytime. Gotta luv his cool comments. His PARTICLE RIFLE is just badass. UNLIMITED AMMO for everyone what do you want more. Also his biotic power DARK CHANNEL is quite useful. Not to mention that his weapon and power are all EXCLUSIVES!!!

I have been using him and liking him quite a bit over Liara. His Dark channel has a fast recharge time and works great. He also starts with a assault rifle over Liaras pistol. I do enjoy his comments in conversations, he has a dark/negative comment for everything.

Nonono Hes the best by far. His weapon is amazing and his dark channel is very good. On top of that he has pull and slam!

In my experience so far Dark Channel by itself (fully leveled) is as powerful as a singularity/warp combo AND adds elements of overload.

This fact alone makes Jarvik pretty much a party MUST.

I tried him once in the school rescue mission, and he promptly ran out into the open field and got demolished. Haven't used him since.

I haven't used Javik much, but I have heard that having him along on the Asari Missions is a big deal...

I'm just about up to that part and am tempted to deviate from my EDI, Liara or Tali team set.

I seem to be in the minority here, but I love Javik. I'm about to finish my first playthrough on insanity and I have used him the entire game.

He has a good amount of hit points and seems to die a lot less than other squad mates.
He uses an assault rifle (assault rifle/biotics is rare in this game for AI squadmates), so he deals a fair mount of damage on his own without direction.
He has pull which is the equivalent to a lobbed pitch for anything not shielded/armored.
Dark Channel does a great job of softening and damaging big high threat units.

A combination of those 4 make him probably my favorite person to bring along with me.

Edit: Lift grenades are also great. They deal a good amount of damage and pull just because they can. I use them all the time.

It's well worth it to have him along with Liara, just saying.

lol i kind of felt sorry for liara, she was SOO happy to get a protheon on our ship. kind of let down, since he refers to the asari as "inferior" and brushes off her attempts to conversate. i noticed he does have a lot of interesting things to say about the asari and other races from his time. he mentioned salarians as "lizard people" and said they used to eat flies! ahahahah i couldnt stop laughing.

i find him very interesting, combat aside i think hes worth it just because of the amazing dialogue and perception you get from a protheon. ive only just picked him up last night, but im already liking him a lot. that dark energy saved my ass from two banshees at once on the ardac-yachi mission (spelling?).

that particle beam rifle is craazy, im actually tempted to convert over from my long-beloved avenger ive been using since ME1. im wondering if you slap incindary amo on that bitch, does it become like a long-distance accurate flamethrower? lmao

I use him about half the time, when I go against Reapers. His powers are effective and I have fun using them. I like his rifle too, he vaporizes mobs quite often with it.

I went through using pretty much just Garrus and Liara. Found almost no use for the Prothean at all.
