Step 1: Showdown Tour
First of all you will need to begin with the Showdown Tour, there are four tiers you will need to complete to finish the Showdown Tour, the first tier being PRO, and the Final tier being LEGEND. In each tier there are several events you need to pass by coming in the top three to unlock the next event. After completing the first event you will unlock the Welcome to the show achievement. The first event is also a good place to earn the Hard Charger achievement, you can use all of your boost in one attempt on the long straight. Once you have completed the first event you can restart the event or just move on to the next one and try to unlock the Ego Boost achievement for not using any of your boost during a race you win. I would suggest not to move onto the next event until you have won the previous event because you will want to unlock the Bronze!, Silver! and Gold! achievements all at once. As you move along the Showdown Tour you will need to complete several different types of events such as Rampage and Trick Rush. The achievements Wrecker, Survivor, Stylin' and Profilin', Rust in Pieces, Mixed Grill, Comeback King, Zero to Hero, Jack of all Trades, Dont Push Me, Demolition, Crash-Bang-Wallop - What a Video, Burst the Bubble and Balletic will be easiest to do in the earlier events in the PRO tour. You can earn a total of 560 from the Showdown Tour.
Step 2: Joyride
From the main menu, select joyride, from here you have a choice to visit either of the two compounds, Yokohama and Battersea. First, start on Yokohama. The Yokohama area contains 75 missions that need to be completed and 60 hidden packages that need to be found. Once you have completed half of the missions in Yokohama you will unlock the Dock Worker achievement, then once you have completed all 75 missions you will unlock the Hoonzilla achievement, now you can have a go at finding the remaining hidden packages as you will find most of them while attempting the missions. Your next step would now be to move onto the Battersea compound. The Battersea area contains 75 missions that need to be completed and 40 hidden packages that need to be found. Once you have completed half of the missions in Battersea you will unlock the London Calling achievement, then once you have completed all 75 missions you will unlock the Daredevil achievement. You will also unlock the achievement Hoonigan for completing all the missions from both compounds. Your final stage would be to find the remaining hidden packages. Once you have found all 60 packages in Yokohama and all 40 in Battersea you will unlock the Treasure Hunter achievement. A total of 165 is available from Joyride.
Step 3: Multiplayer
Most of the online achievements will come just through playing through different events, and most are quite easy. The only difficult one being the Loot Carrier achievement, but this can be unlocked through boosting just like the others. To get the achievements Household Name, Rising Star and Showdown Superstar you must play matches online to earn fans which increases your level. Points are awarded for your finishing position, the number of players in the lobby, and if you are lower levels than people you beat you will earn an underdog bonus. The final achievements Showdown Haulage Co and Team Awesome should come through playing regularly, but if not can be boosted.

If you don't have a friend who has played the game and can't find someone to help you, you can use a silver account on the same xbox. Just send a challenge from the dummy account to your real account and beat it 10 times, the same as you would with a friend.

The "Max Power" (upgrade all vehicles) achievement is only singleplayer in theory. Once you win all Showdown Tour races you cannot earn any more money in singleplayer. You can win a 1000 $ per challenge, but it would probably take ages to earn enough money that way (even if you do it with a second profile, and simply forfeit the challenges, you still have to complete events to send them).
So basically you have to play a lot of multiplayer to get that achievement, or waste endless hours on challenges.
As for the Comeback King achievement, so far it is the hardest one for me. The 7th guy has around 500 points every time, and I actually often get more for not doing anything and poeple simply bashing into me. So not only is it hard to get from 500 to around 6000 in 30 seconds, it is sometimes hard to stay in 8th place. Sick. Any recommendations?

Harry, I used the Kohler and drove around the outside using the right analogue to check for likely collisions and avoid them, if you need to 'help' the others to get past you park in the centre and hold the handbrake and it's rare to get points even if shunted into other people.
You will get hit a lot though so i tried to get wrecked before double time started with this method.
I did this on intermediate whereas every guide i looked at says try beginner. I'm guessing the other cars score higher as i had just over 1000 when the double time started and was still 8th.
From then it's a case of getting lucky with some terminal crashes.
I only did this yesterday so it's fresh in the mind. It did take about 6 or 7 tries before i got enough points for a podium finish.
I hope that helps a little!
