Introduction
In Dishonored, you play as Corvo, a former bodyguard-turned-assassin who is hell bent on eliminating the men who dishonored him and sent his home city into chaos. Your journey will carry you from the depths of Dunwall's Coldridge Prison, to the flooded, and plague infested streets of the city's destroyed sectors, and everywhere in between. Every step of the way you will encounter fierce resistance from regular City Watch, to powerful Overseers, and even plague-ridden citizens now called Weepers. You have one goal, save the Empress and eliminate the men who imprisoned you, as well as anyone else who stands in your way, by whatever straightforward or subtle means necessary. With the help of the powerful, otherworldly being known only as "The Outsider", and the aid of a few freedom fighters, you must accomplish your mission at whatever cost. Even as the odds continue to stack against you, the assassin will emerge victorious.

Playthrough 1
The achievements are pretty cleanly divided into two different playthroughs; one being a brawl, fight and kick but playthrough where you utilize all of your weapons and abilities, and the other is a stealth playthrough where you don't kill anyone and you cannot be seen. The stealth run is certainly the more tricky of the two, simply because a whole game is a long ways to go without alerting enemies, or killing anyone, even if it sometimes seems like you have to. However, a full stealth playthrough will net you achievements like "Ghost", "Shadow", and "Clean Hands", and can also be paired with achievements like "Mostly Flesh and Steel" to restrict your play even further by making it so you cannot even purchase any of your powers for the duration of the game. A number of short term achievements are available for people who can make it through a set number of missions either without altering enemies, while killing a few people, or both, so those would all pop on a "Clean Hands" run through. This may not be the best run to do side quests, or gather paintings or charms, depending on the player. Finishing a stealth run through will also net you "Just Dark Enough".

Playthrough 2
The second playthrough will be the opposite of whatever you chose for playthrough one. So if you went stealth the first time around, this time you will want to go all out and get the "Dunwall in Chaos" achievemement, among others which are mostly associated with using certain abilities or weapons a certain number of times. Overall, a pretty balanced set of achievements.


Achievements

Dishonored - 5
You escaped Coldridge Prison

Mission 1
This will pop after you get off the boat with Samuel, who rescues you from Coldridge. Story related and unmissable.


Thief - 20
You pickpocketed items worth a total of 200 coins

You can do this throughout the playthrough by going into sneak mode () and tapping when you're behind someone with a glowing purse on their hip. Try this on every enemy you take out via assassination or knockout, and if you don't get it by mission 5 when you get to the party, just run around pick pocketing everyone until it unlocks and reload your game if necessary.

Versatile - 20
You killed characters with each weapon and offensive gadget

Basically, kill at least one person with each weapon and gadget. This will require some upgrades, and blueprints for the upgrades.
Meaning: Pistol(+explosive rounds), Crossbow(+Incendiary Bolts), Blade, Springrazor and grenade(+sticky grenades).


Necessary Blueprint locations:
(Note: Picking up a blueprint with multiple locations, will make it disappear from all locations)


Mission: House of Pleasure
Item: Incandescent Paste; Incendiary Bolt Blueprints (Location 1)
Location: Use the valve-controlled door located within the Distillery to reach the blueprint


Mission:Lady Boyle's Last Party
Item: Spiked Grenade Housing; Sticky Grenade Blueprints (Location 1)
Location: Before entering the Mansion through the side entrance (which enters into the main hall and staircase), take a left and enter a side door into a guard's room to find the blueprints on a table.


Mission: Return to the Tower
Item: Small-Scale Combustion Refinement; Explosive Bullets (Location 1)
Location: Once you're inside Dunwall Tower, check the rooms on the second floor, and you will find this in the General's office.


The Flooded District
Item 1: Spiked Grenade Housing; Sticky Grenade Blue prints (Location 2)
Location: Inside the Thug's basement with a partially destroyed passageway


Item 2:Incandescent Paste; Incendiary Bolts (Location 2)
Location: In the lower level cellar near the exit from the Gateward Tunnels.

Item 3: Small-Scale Combustion Refinement; Explosive Bullets (Location 2)
Location: In the crashed railcar you pass by as you exit the rail station, and just before reaching the main area with Daud, and tons of Assassins.

Ghost - 30
You completed all missions after the prologue, alerting or killing no one but key targets

Alerts come when the awareness meter above an enemy's head turns red and they start shooting at you. As for not killing anyone, learn to blink passed enemies, utilize your sleep bolts for your crossbow ( + to the top left), you'll know they're sleep darts because they're green. Also be sure you use knockout takedowns by holding when you're behind an enemy. One last tip would be to hold while you're knocking them out so you catch them as they collapse, otherwise they'll fall to the ground and possibly alert nearby enemies.

Shadow - 30
You completed all missions after the prologue without alerting anyone

In order to know when an enemy is alert, watch the lightning bolts over their head. Once they are all filled in with white, they will turn red and the enemy will start attacking you. If that happens, reload the last save you have. Always pay close to attention to the detection markers (the lightning bolts) and as soon as you see even a bit of white, hide until the enemy moves on.

Mostly Flesh and Steel - 50
You finished the game without purchasing any supernatural powers or enhancements besides Blink.

Basically, DO NOT purchase ANY powers from the menu. Powers cost Runes, so you have a better idea of what they are, and by don't purchase any, I also mean do not upgrade Blink. Thankfully, you can upgrade your regular equipment, such as your crossbow, mask, etc.

Wall of Sparks- 10
You killed an enemy with the Wall of Light

You can get this with relative ease by rewiring the wall of light in Sokolov's house during the mission where you need to capture him. There are other walls of light located throughout the game. Note that a kill with this will void any no kill achievements, so be sure to reload a save after the kill if you want to go with no kills in a game.

Rogue - 10
You assassinated 10 unaware enemies

Whenever you see a chance to sneak up behind an enemy without them noticing (thus remaining unaware), use your attack to assassinate them. This will void any no kill achievements you're going for, so either do this your second run, or reload a save after you do it.

Specter - 20
After escaping prison, you completed a mission, not alerting anyone and killing less than 5 people

This will pop after completing the first true mission in the game while going through for at least a Shadow playthrough.

Faceless - 20
After escaping Coldridge Prison, you completed a mission without alerting anyone


This achievement will pop after completing the first real mission (assassinate Overseer Campbell) if you are going through at least a Shadow playthrough.



Manipulator - 10
You made others kill 5 of their own allies


For this you need to purchase Possession rank 2, and bend time 2, which will void Mostly Flesh and Metal, so do them separately (or save prior to doing this). Get into a firefight and just as you are about to get shot, bend time, possess another enemy, and walk them in front of the bullet and then jump out of the body with . Repeat that 4 more times.

Vanished - 10
You escaped the prison and navigated the sewers undetected



Good practice for future missions, as you will need to go through the prologue without being detected, and the achievement will pop once you exit the sewers and see Samuel.

Razor Rain - 10
You killed 5 characters with Drop Assassination


Jump or fall toward an enemy from above them and tap just before you land on them to execute them. You will have many opportunities to do this, but be sure to remember that this will void any no-kill achievements you are going for.

Surgical - 30
You played from the first mission through Kaldwin's Bridge killing fewer than 10 characters

Pops once you carry Sokolov to the boat at the end of mission 4 as long as you have killed less than 10 people over the course of these 4 levels. Guaranteed to pop on a Clean Hands play through.

Clean Hands - 100
You complete the game without killing anyone

This isn't too tricky aside from a few spots, as long as you remember to only take down enemies with sleep bolts from your crossbow, or your sleeper hold knockout.

Here are some tips to avoid killing anyone in certain sticky situations
Mission 1 Overseer Campbell - Either let him poison the Captain and then choke him out, or follow them into the basement and choke him out.
Mission 2 Pendeltons - Do the Slackjaw sidequests and he will offer to take care of the Pendelton twins for you if you get the code to the Art Dealer's safe.
Mission 5 Lady Boyle - Search the second floor for clues as to which Boyle you need to capture (it changes). Once you've done that, head downstairs and find a man with rabbit/scarecrow type mask that has random whiskers on it, he'll be wandering around the first floor and talk to you about helping him kidnap his love. After that, figure out a way to get the target into the kitchen so you can knock her out and she can be kidnapped (at least she isn't dead).
Mission 6 Lord Regent - Head up to the broadcast tower and talk to the broadcaster who will tell you it'd be a good idea to get the Lord Regents tapes from his safe (935) and broadcast them over the air to dismantle his government from the top down. This will also grant you the political suicide achievement.
Mission 7 Daud - Just pickpocket his pouch from him as you go for his key when you finally reach him in Mission 7. This will also unlock an achievement.
Mission 7 Slackjaw/Granny - When you see these two at the end of Mission 7, it can get kind of screwy, and the best bet is apparently to just pickpocket the key from Granny and run. Putting her to sleep apparently counts as killing for people who have noticed it.

Harm's Way - 10
You have caused 5 unintentional suicides

Once you have the possession ability, and bend time 2, load up mission 5/the boyle's party, and head in through the side entrance that leads to the large staircase entryway. Note the wall of light at the opposite end of the room, and what you need to do now is to possess civilians around the room, and jump out of their body () just before reaching the wall of light. As you jump out, they will stumble forward a few feet and die in the wall. This ONLY works on civilians, and note that none of the Boyle sisters, their maids, or some of the people with unique masks will die in the wall of light. So focus on grabbing the guests with the plain masks. If you have bend time, that will help you when the guests start to flee, however some will stay behind so go find them and walk them into the wall. You can reload the checkpoint if necessary.

Inhabitant - 10
You stayed in possession of others for most of a 3 minute period


Once you have at least Possession rank 1, find a huge swarm of rats (pretty common later on), possess one of them via , wait for him to die, possess another, and keep going until the achievement pops. Make sure you have a good amount of mana potions beforehand as it will require about 9 rats to achieve.

Alternatively you can possess a rat and enter a rat tunnel and just wait out the 3 minutes (you won't unpossess the rat during while you're in the tunnel. Drop the possession with once the time is up.

Hornets' Nest - 20
You killed 4 enemies in less than 1 second using the crossbow


For this you will need either Bend Time or Bend Time 2, and Crossbow Reload Speed so your Crossbow automatically reloads after each shot. Once you have that, head to the Lady Boyle's Last Party mission and head across the river via the bridge, and into the building that is next to where your boat landed. On the bottom floor of this building, under the staircase, you will find a group of 6 Weepers just hanging out and waiting to be killed by you. Once you find them, use Bend Time and aim for the head of at least 4 of them.

Speed of Darkness - 10
You traveled 30 meters in less than 1 second

For this you will want to have Blink and Bend Time; Once you have slowed time, simply Blink and run for the duration and the achievement should pop. Note that it doesn't have to be a straight line, I went in a circle, and some people have reported doing it vertically.

Tempest - 20
You killed 6 enemies in less than 1 second

This can be easily paired with Hornet's Nest, or you can use the pistol; and whatever else you want (grenades, mines, etc) while under the influence of Bend Time 2 as long as you're in an area with 6 enemies. One location to do this is against the large group of Weepers in a building between where you start mission 5, and where you can enter the Boyle party through a guard house, which is across the bridge from where you come out of the water.

Merchant of Disorder - 20
You acquired 15 equipment upgrades

You can purchase any equipment upgrades you want on any playthrough as they don't affect achievements, just be aware that you will need to keep a look out for blueprints to new upgrades to help you get the achievement earlier. Most, if not all, of your blueprints for upgrades come naturally through progression though, and upgrades can be purchased from Piero.

Note: the upgrades can get pretty pricey so you may want to focus on buying the cheap stuff first, and also loot as many items that give you money as possible. One great place to get this is the Boyle Mansion in mission 5, as the guests won't stop you for stealing all of the valuables throughout the Mansion.


Back Home - 10
You grabbed a live grenade and threw it back, killing an attacker

Occasionally Overseers (the masked guys) will throw grenades at you, which you can pick up with and throw back with like a traditional item you can pickup and throw. You may want Time Bend for this to make it a bit easier. The achievement can be a little glitchy, so try and kill the guy by getting a direct hit with the grenade, which seems to work 100% of the time.

In mission 2 is a great place to do this. After entering Holger Square you have to help a trapped guy named "High Overseer Martin" (cannot be missed). Right in front of him is a normal Overseer. Just make some noise and run around until he throws a grenade at you. Easy peasy.

Alive Without Breath - 10
You took possession of a fish

Once you have purchased the possession skill, equip it and jump into any water. Swim around until you see some fish then put your crosshairs on them and press to possess them.

Creepy Crawly - 10
You used a rat tunnel

After buying the possession power, use it on a mouse when you see a broken vent at the bottom of the wall. As the mouse, you can enter the vent and use it like a tunnel to reach anything from a secret room or just a shortcut. The achievement will pop once you enter the vent as a mouse.

Art Dealer - 50
You collected all the Sokolov paintings

The Sokolov paintings are paintings found throughout the game that are made noticeable by a yellow outline along the frame. You can pick these up by pressing . A counter at the end of each mission will show you if you got all the paintings in one mission or not. If you manage to miss multiple paintings, you will need to reload the mission with the first one you missed and replay through the remaining missions.

Note: The last painting can only be obtained if you have done a quest for both Granny and Slackjaw. If you have neglected either or both, you will have to replay the entire game again.
Mission 1
-Mission 1: There is one in the Overseer's basement, and can be found as part of his assassination, or the bodyguard achievement.
Mission 2
-Mission 2: Another can be found hanging on a wall in the art dealer's house. There will be two thugs talking about it on the second floor when you first enter the building.
-Mission 2: Another in the single bedroom on the top floor of the art dealer's house, above the bed.
-Mission 2: Yet another painting can be found in the Art Dealer's safe.
Mission 4
-Mission 4: On the bottom floor of Sokolov's house is a lone painting in the middle of the room, surrounded by enemies.
Mission 5
-Mission 5: in the Boyles mansion's upper floor art gallery.
-Mission 5: This location varies apparently, but can be found in your target's bedroom (your target varies by playthrough)
Mission 6
-Mission 6: On the second floor of the tower there is a music room with a fireplace and the painting hanging over the fireplace
Mission 7
-Mission 7: As you proceed toward your equipment marker on the screen you may pass through an upper balcony that leads into a small room with a Weeper and the painting in it. The balcony has a mattress on it, and is directly above the weird pod things that shoot acid at you.
-Mission 7: After dealing with Daud you will proceed to a chain leading to the basement. The painting is on one of the floors you pass while going down the chain.
-Mission 7: When you see Granny and Slackjaw for the last time, head up to Granny's room and you will find this hanging over her bed.

Occultist - 20
You collected 10 bone charms

There are many Bone Charms throughout the game, but you can find your first 10 in the first two levels of the game by simply equipping the heart via and observe the location of any runes or charms on your screen. The locations are only visible in the area that you are in, so if you go through a loading screen into a new area, be sure to use the heart first and foremost to see if you will come across and charms. This will unlock during the Golden Cat mission if you didn't miss any charms.


The Escapist - 10
After Coldridge Prison, you eluded 5 pursuers at once without killing them or leaving the map.

This is best done with a group of 5+ regular guards, so you can get them to attack you, and then blink up to a rooftop to avoid them. Whatever is chasing you, just use your skills to lose them so they stop following you; however going through a loading screen does not count.

Cleaner - 10
You fought 5 enemies at once and none of them survived

Might as well pair this with the Escapist by going back to that group after you flee and killing them all. Obviously most easily done on an easier difficulty, and/or with upgraded weaponry.

Gentleman Caller - 10
You completed all the Granny Rags side missions

You will first find Granny in Mission 2: High Overseer Campbell. Once you hit the streets just after coming off the beach, head to the end of the street and blink/climb up to an open area leading into the building. She will be at the back of the building, at the base of the staircase.

You can stealth this first mission by going into the room next to the door and stealth in the corner nearest the door () and opening the door from there. Stay in that corner until the two guys come into the house, one will enter your room and the other will proceed down the hallway. From here you can either sleep bolt the guy in the hall and the guy outside, or sleep bolt the guy in the room with you, then knock out the guy in the hallway and sleep bolt the guy outside the house. However you do it, you must take out the guy in the hallway before he reaches the room with Granny, otherwise he will kill her. There are two sleep bolts on the chair in the same room as you.

After Granny gifts you a Rune, she will give you your next quest. The Dr.'s office for the next quest is located by the Wall of Light which should be marked on your screen when you're close enough (the Dr.'s office will show up eventually as well). Head back toward Granny's house to find the distillery you need to poison once you have the rat poison from the Dr.'s office. Effectively utilize blink, and be sure to grab the master key near where you enter the main distillery building, and then head back to Granny once the still is poisoned.

See "Street Conspiracy" for the details in Mission 7.

Note:
In order to get the last quest from Granny, you will need to do at least 1 quest for Slackjaw. If you don't, you will have to play the game over again.


Poetic Justice - 30
You neutralized all key targets using indirect means

Not all of these were indirect means in my opinion, but this is what I did for each target:

Overseer Campbell - Mission 2: Knocked him out and branded him a traitor.
Pendleton Twins - Mission 3: Do both side missions for Slackjaw and he will take care of them.
Boyle Woman - Mission 5: Knocked out and sent on a boat with her romantic partner. Must find him in the party first.
Lord Regent - Mission 6: Head up to the broadcast tower and talk to the broadcaster who will tell you it'd be a good idea to get the Lord Regents tapes from his safe (935) and broadcast them over the air to dismantle his government from the top down. This will also grant you the political suicide achievement.

Achievement will unlock after Mission 6.

Excommunication - 5
You eliminated High Overseer Campbell

Kill your target in Mission 2, or alternatively (nonlethal):
Knock him out and carry him to the interrogation room to brand him. If you are going for the bodyguard achievement as well, you'll need to follow the two men into the basement prior to knocking the Overseer out (this way is a bit harder, but gets you an extra achievement). You will also need to grab a key to the room from a guard nearby (usually in the file cabinet room). Put the Overseer in the chair, grab the brand from the balcony, and then use it on the Overseer.

Bodyguard - 10
You protected Callista's uncle, Captain Geoff Curnow

When you finally reach the meeting room, there will be two glasses on the table in the middle of the room. Either destroy them both for a nonlethal solution, or switch the glasses so the Overseer poisons himself. If you chose the first option, you'll need to follow the men down to the basement, where the Overseer will show Captain Curnow a painting, and pull out a sword to kill him while his back is turned. That's your queue to move in and take out the Overseer, so Cpt Curnow realizes you're saving him, otherwise he will call the guards. The achievement will pop once Curnow walks off the property by himself.

Food Chain - 10
You assassinated an assassin

In the Golden Cat mission, assassins will start to appear, generally on high perches or rooftops, with skills similar to yours. Sneak up behind him and tap . If you don't get it here, they are also very common in mission 7.

Street Conspiracy - 10
You completed all the Slackjaw side missions

At the beginning Golden Cat mission you will see a quest popup to visit Slackjaw at the Distillery. Head there once your boat lands to start his quest chain. Once you reach him, he'll inform you that someone put plague in his brew..ya don't say. Back to the Dr.'s office as well. You will find Slackjaw's informant on the top floor of the office building. Once you return to Slackjaw he will give you another work opportunity, that will be twice as beneficial for you, allowing you to get an achievement AND eliminate the Pendelton brothers without killing them. He'll send you to get the safe's code from the art dealer(through rather...interesting methods) at the Golden Cat so you can open the safe in his house. What you need to do is make a pit stop on the way back from the art dealer and empty out his safe prior to giving the code to Slackjaw. The Art Dealer's house is across the street from the Dr.'s office


*Final Steps*In mission 7 you will come across a strange scenario..Granny has taken Slackjaw Hostage.

Stealth: In order to get the no kill scenario, you need to just pickpocket the key from Granny and run. Make a save at this point so you can do all 3 options.
Slackjaw: In this choice, you can simply run up the staircase behind Granny and enter her bedroom (note: a painting over her bed). Grab the item off of her bed by pressing , then turn to the furnace and open it up and tap again to place the item in the fire. Close the door and then run back into the main room with Slackjaw to fight Granny and a bunch of rats. Simply stay on the platform Slackjaw is on and shoot her with either weapon until she dies. Then free Slackjaw and the achievement will pop.
Granny: She will ask you first to kill Slackjaw, then she'll give you the key to his chains (you need to tap to get them from her), then throw him in the bathtub to be cooked. Talk to Granny one last time and then be sure to go get the marked gift on the screen, then the achievement will pop and the outsider will talk to you.

Note: In order to get the last quest from Slackjaw, you will need to do at least 1 quest for Granny. If you don't, you will have to play the game over again.

The Art of the Steal - 10
You got the Art Dealer's safe combination for Slackjaw, but robbed the safe first

Mission 3: House of Pleasure

When going through the level, you will see some thugs by a big door leading to the Whiskey Distillery. Go there and head in to meet Slackjaw. He will give you a side mission to find out what happened to one of his mean. Go to that building and to the top floor. Grab the audio and return to him. Now he will want you to get the Art Dealer's Safe combination. Head into The Golden Cat and find him in a torture chamber. Torture him until he gives you the combination to his safe. As you are heading back, take the route that leads down some stone stairs. There is a female being hassled by enemies. Take them out to get the key to the Art Dealer's apartment. You can also grab it off her dead body if she did not survive. The apartment is right next to where you entered to meet Slackjaw. Go to the top floor and open the safe and loot what you want. Return to the ever so trusting Slackjaw to finish the mission and gain the achievement.

An Unfortunate Accident - 10
You killed Morgan Pendleton with steam

Mission 3: House of Pleasure


For this achievement you will need to first get the Golden Cat Master Key by pickpocketing the Madam, who is in her office (should be labeled on the screen) if you're going the silent route for the game and need to exit the building to meet with Slackjaw, save at her office. From there, head to the steam baths, eliminate or avoid the guards and use the key on the gate into the room with the broken steam pipe. Grab the valve from the nearby table and use it to eliminate your target for the achievement. If you're going kill-free for the other achievements, reload your save at the madam's office.

King of the World - 10
You reached the top of Kaldwin's Bridge

You visit Kaldwin's bridge in the third mission (one to capture Sokolov). Once your each the bridge you will have to shut off the bridge lights. Upon reaching the area where you pull a lever to put down the bridge, you can climb up some chains and other obstacles to reach the highest point of the tower. In the first tower, that is a wall that is next to the large wheels that pull on chains, there is also a corpse laying on the ground in the area.

Capturing Genius and Madness - 10
You abducted Anton Sokolov, Royal Physician

Story related, can't be missed.

Mission 4: The Royal Physician

You must abduct Sokolov by knocking him out and carrying him all the way back to the boat. The achievement will pop as soon as you get onto the boat.


Big Boy - 20
You killed a tallboy using only your sword

Tallboys begin to appear in Mission 5. If you get high enough you can do a drop assassination but you won't find many times to do this. If you have Bend Time, you can easily just use that power and then Blink up and stab the person in the tallboy.

Well Mannered - 10
You completed the Boyle Estate mission without spoiling the party

Mission 5: The Boyle Estate

Mission 5 sends you into a costume party at the Boyle Estate, where you must find and eliminate your target. Simply don't get caught in off limit areas, don't pickpocket, put your weapons away (hold :xbut), don't really get caught doing anything you wouldn't normally do at a party. If people start to scream and run away from you, you're doing something wrong. The achievement unlocks at the end of the mission.


Regicide - 10
You assassinated Lord Regent, Hiram Burrows

Mission 6: Return to the Tower

Assassinate Lord Regent, who is in Mission 6. If you are going the Low Threat route, he will eventually go to his chambers where you can assassinate him. If you are going High Threat, he will likely be scared and run up to the roof. You must get to him and kill him there.

Note: that there is an alternative achievement for using the Broadcasting Tower to transmit Lord Regent's secret messages. If you want, you can save prior to killing him to get the other achievement.


Political Suicide - 10
You brought about the Lord Regent's fall from grace by broadcasting his crimes

Mission 6: Return to the Tower

During mission 6, head to the top of the broadcasting tower immediately after entering the main building and talk to the broadcaster. He will tell you to go get some incriminating audiographs from the Lord Regent's safe and broadcast them over the air. Head down the stairs and to the bedroom and grab the recording from the safe and then head back up and play it using the broadcasting machine. Saving prior to doing this, you can get this and the assassinate Lord Regent achievement.

(I did Granny's mission before this when I cooked him in the tub, and hers unlocked just fine.)

So what do you guys think of that?

UPDATE: I replayed the whole damn campaign for this one lousy 10G achievement.

That part is between either level 1 and 2 or 2 and 3.

And you need to open a valve at that point? Is it the valve leading outside from the sewers when you're going after the weepers? It seemed like a really different area of the sewers so I'm not sure what you mean x.x

I'm wondering if it'll be a good idea to swap a few of the achievements around and put them in a certain order, mainly the "assassinate X" ones.

To make the guide easier to read, easier to unlock matching achievements and to simply save missing or scrolling up/down the pages, can you put to linking story based ones together?

Because, for example, "Excommunication" & "Bodyguard" are related, but they're 2 posts apart. I think it's best mix and match all these corresponding achievements to save all the hassle.

I'm also wondering if it's worth even starting this game with a few glitches hanging about, especially "Clean Hands". Seeing as a stealth run will be my 1st playthrough, it'll be a waste if I did it all for it not to unlock. meaning I'll have to do a total of 2 more playthroughs.

You can do both in one playthrough. Do Granny's quests and poison the men (does NOT count against a clean hands playthrough). Then do all of Slackjaws stuff, up until you give him the art dealers safe code. Then in mission 7, when you see them make a 7 and do both options. All of that should be in my achievement descriptions.

Roger that. I was waiting until everything seemed finished before I moved stuff around, AND I just finished shifting stuff around (I think) so let me know what you think. I tried to put it as general achievements first, collectables, mission specific achievements..hopefully ^^

No I didn't assassinate him, that was a stupid typo on my part, and thanks for pointing him out...and yes, it's hard to let a lot of people go in this game :P

I read that this is actually a very difficult game in some reviews. The 4/10 difficulty rating is a nice surprise to me. Looks like a short and fairly easy game. I'll have to pick it up then

The video for the art of the steal has skipped a few steps. I discovered, via another website, that a key is required to enter the art dealer's apartment. It may be helpful to others using this guide to know that the key is given to you from a woman in the alley past the first wall of the light, and watchtower, underneath clavering blvd. where you witness the fight between the city watch and the bottle street gang member in mission 2.

you don't need the key, the door on the upstairs balcony (the one overlooking the doctors house you found Slackjaws missing man in) is unlocked

You killed 4 enemies in less than 1 second using the crossbow


For this you will need either Bend Time or Bend Time 2, and Crossbow Reload Speed so your Crossbow automatically reloads after each shot. Once you have those, just find a group of rats to kill.

That is not necessary for the achievement.

I started from Mission 8 - The Loyalists. There is Tallboy outside of the Pub (which you can ignore), two guys having a chitchat, third guy just about to go inside the Pub and there should be two guys inside the Pub.

Run for the door, open it and stay there. Use your Bend Time 2, then immeadietly equip your crossbow, shoot two guys inside the Pub and two guys outside the Pub. There's 5 guys (+ Tallboy) in that small area, so it should be easy to get.

At least that's how I got mine!

When you finally reach the meeting room, there will be two glasses on the table in the middle of the room. Either destroy them both for a nonlethal solution, or switch the glasses so the Overseer poisons himself. If you chose the first option, you'll need to follow the men down to the basement, where the Overseer will show Captain Curnow a painting, and pull out a sword to kill him while his back is turned. That's your queue to move in and take out the Overseer, so Cpt Curnow realizes you're saving him, otherwise he will call the guards. The achievement will pop once Curnow walks off the property by himself.
I got Bodyguard by knocking over both glasses, and when they walk into the hall I sleep dart both of them. Then I do the chair thing with Campbell and take Curnow out to the "safe hiding spot". After you take the ferry it pops. You don't have to go to all the trouble of following them and popping out when he tries to kill him.

Just want to add something in that I found out about Pendelton Twins/Slackjaw mission. Apparently if you take out either of the Twins BEFORE you interrogate the art dealer he wont give you the code to his safe, keeping you from completing that slackjaw mission, also getting the code yourself and robbing the safe before talking to Slackjaw will keep him from giving you the second part of his missions on that level.

Also, I think I screwed up.... I'm guessing stuff like Vitality, Blood Thirsty ect counts against Mostly Flesh and Steel? I assumed it was just mana based powers -_- luckily Im only on chapter 3 of this runthrough, For some reason I ignored the word enhancements when I read the description, cause I am pretty sure that is exactly what they are talking about .... I'm sad. lol

You saved Empress Emily Kaldwin
In the very last mission your story will finish as you save the Empress from the clutches of some evil old men. This is story related and unmissable.


This achievement is actually missable if you have the high chaos setting for the final chapter.

At the end it is possible to not save her from the captor and instead let her fall to her death, which in turn gives you two different endings for High Chaos. I realized this when I got to the end of my first playthrough and didn't think of blinking to save her since I didn't think he would actually do it. Luckily I had saved right when I got to this part. But there may be autosave right when you get there.

I'm having a lot of trouble popping Harm's Way using the wall of light method. I did it at the beginning of chapter 6 with the 1 wall of light there, and used a rewire tool on it, and posessed 7-8 people at least and jumped out causing them to dive through the wall turning to ash. I assumed that your description of the achievement on chapter 5 (only works on civilians) was just because the walls there wouldn't kill guards or the sisters, but apparently using the same method on regular guards with a rewired fence isnt popping it either. Guess I'll have to stop bullets for it, cause the Party method on civilians didnt pop it for me (and apparently making them fall off ledges doesn't count either), which is why I am trying it on normal guards now

I see on the guide that it says difficulty does not affect achievements. Just wanted to make sure I'm reading it correctly befor I embark on my second playthrough doing no kills, no detect. If I chose to play that one on easy, the achievements would still pop correct?

Correct, i did both my playthroughs on easy seeing as it only effects damage in/output and not enemy awareness or intelligents.

So I'm not getting any of the no-kill or ghost acheivements. I've done the whole game with no kills and no enemies alerted. I've checked mission status and it said that I had not killed or alerted anyone. So what the heck?

I think I might have messed up. I had started my nonlethal run on the SECOND mission (where you have to kill the High Overseer) and got all the way to the end and then went back to do the first mission. Could that have screwed it all up?
