Introduction
Doom 3 BFG Edition has now arrived for the Xbox 360. It contains the full original game, its expansion pack Resurrection of Evil, as well as a brand new never-before-seen set of seven levels known as the “Lost Mission;” complete with fully re-mastered graphics and more. The original Doom and Doom 2 are also thrown into the bunch, but they do not stack with the previously released arcade versions. In general, this list is a solid list with a mix of challenging and simple achievements.

Step One
Much like many other amazing games of the past, enjoy it! There isn’t much sense in achievement hunting this gem of a game, but if you simply wish to get the Gamerscore and move on, skip ahead to step two. Otherwise, have a blast! Blast a few demons while you’re at it!

Step Two
So now you’ve had your fun or either you’ve decided the fun starts here. What you’re going to want to do is to go through each of the three parts of the whole package on at least Recruit first in order to unlock Nightmare for each corresponding part as well as to get a feel for the game if you have not already. While on your way through each run, try and grab as much of the miscellaneous stuff as you can to save yourself some time. During this step is also when you’d want to go for the “Speed Run” achievement on Recruit difficulty if you did not get it yet.

Step Three
Now it’s time for Nightmare. Gear up and get ready. Please refer to each Nightmare achievement within the guide for tips and such for each part of the game. Nightmare is stackable, so you will unlock any lower difficulty achievements as well upon completion.

Step Four
Time to knock out the online. Thankfully the online achievements are fairly straightforward and do not require a lot of time to obtain. Once again, please refer to the guide on how to best obtain these. For the absolute best and quickest way to obtain ALL the MP in less than an hour, please refer to THIS post.

Click HERE to visit the Achievement Trading Thread to search for boosting partners.

Step Five
Now that you’ve completed all there is to in the main Doom 3 package and you need to get started on Doom and Doom II if you have not already, please visit the following links which will take you to the guides for these two games. I will not be covering the Doom and Doom II achievements within this same guide.

Click HERE to visit the Doom 1 forums, HERE to go directly to the original achievement guide by aPerfektFIaw or HERE to go directly to the newer achievement guide and roadmap by Gackt.

Click HERE to visit the Doom II forums or HERE to go directly to the achievement guide by yours truly.

Conclusion
Now that you’ve finished the game and all is done and the achievements are completed, it could be said that it sure was one hell of a ride. Such a great game of the past now with achievements and updated visuals and more brings much satisfaction to many old school gamers, including myself.

ACHIEVEMENT GUIDE

DOOMed Recruit – 5
Complete the DOOM 3 single player campaign on Recruit

Refer to “DOOMed Nightmare.”

DOOMed Marine – 10
Complete the DOOM 3 single player campaign on Marine

Refer to “DOOMed Nightmare.”

DOOMed Veteran – 15
Complete the DOOM 3 single player campaign on Veteran

Refer to “DOOMed Nightmare.”

DOOMed Nightmare – 20
Complete the DOOM 3 single player campaign on Nightmare

This achievement requires you to complete the entire Doom 3 campaign on the Nightmare difficulty setting.

In this mode, you will begin the game with the Soul Cube already in your weapon inventory in Mars City and you get to keep it throughout the game. You will also slowly lose 5 HP every few seconds until you reach 25 HP, in which it will stay until you gain more health.

The best technique to keep using throughout Nightmare is to first of all, save constantly. Make sure you save before you turn every corner.

Another helpful hint is to use the Soul Cube on harder enemies since it is a one hit kill on everything except bosses and then use smaller, easier enemies to charge it back up again.

Ammo should not be a problem and make sure to use your weapons wisely. Use the Pistol or Fists for zombies, Shotgun or Machine Gun for Z-Secs, Chaingun and so on for larger enemies, etc. The Shotgun and Super Shotgun in this game is amazing at close range, and will usually one shot kill an Imp and similar enemies at point blank range. More often than not you can completely gib Zombies.

Attacks from certain enemies can be avoided, for instance the Imp’s fireball. Once it is thrown, simply crouch and you will duck right under it.

Focus your fire on the toughest enemies first. Perfect examples are the Arch-Vile later in the game. He won’t be a problem really, but for Nightmare you will definitely want to smoke him with the Soul Cube as soon as possible. Prioritize your enemy kills.

DOOMed Collector – 15
Collect every PDA in DOOM 3

For this achievement, you must find and pick up all the PDAs scattered across the campaign. PDAs will mostly be lying on tables and on the floor and will have a red screen. Some however even require you to kill a friendly so that they may drop it. Collectables in Doom 3 are fairly easy to miss, so make sure that you search the entire level thoroughly before progressing to new areas.

Please visit THIS post for a spreadsheet of all collectables
found in chronological order.

I Like to Watch – 15
Find all video logs in DOOM 3

Video logs can be collected and then played within your own PDA. Good thing about these is that there are not many. Video logs are a lot easier to find than you would think and you will pick up most of them by natural playing, however one requires you to watch a TV screen all the way through.

Please visit THIS post for a spreadsheet of all collectables found in chronological order.

That was Close! – 15
Kill an enemy with 1 health remaining in DOOM 3, RoE, or Lost Mission

The best way to do this would be to let a weaker enemy (such as a zombie or Z-Sec) get your health down until you reach 1 HP, then kill them before they can kill you. On Recruit, pistol Z-Secs only take 1 HP each shot at close range. You could even try hurting yourself with barrels or grenades to aid in the process.

Goody Finder – 15
Open all storage lockers in DOOM 3

For this achievement, you must locate and open all storage lockers in the main game of Doom 3. Good thing about these is most of them you will encounter throughout the game without having to do much serious searching, which is pretty much just like the other collectable achievements.

NOTICE: This achievement appears to be glitched in a good way, unlocking earlier than expected. Some have reported it unlocking in Delta Labs 3/4 instead of later on.

It would be best to have up
THIS thread with the storage locker codes while you are going through the game so that you do not have to search through your PDA to find the codes.

Please visit THIS post for a spreadsheet of all collectables found in chronological order.

Unarmed Badass – 10
Kill 20 enemies with the fists/melee hands in DOOM 3

This achievement is very easily do-able at the very beginning of the game and even throughout it to the end. Any time you see a zombie or two walking about, just let ‘em have it with your fists. No sense wasting ammo right? Just be careful and make sure you step back so they don’t slap you back. If you run into trouble getting your fists back out once you have two or more weapons, simply press .

To Be or Not to Be – 5
Kill the scientist trapped next to the Reactor Control Room in DOOM 3

Eventually you will arrive in Alpha Labs section four of the Alpha Labs chain of levels. At one point in this level, you will go through a door and enter a room with a control panel overlooking some sort of chamber with orange walls. There will be a scientist trapped inside.

Before you do anything however, make a manual save before you choose either of the following options. Now you will want to choose “Activate Chamber” from the screen’s menu instead of “Open Chamber.”

Once you get the achievement, LOAD the file you just made. Proceed down to where he was because there are collectables that you will miss.

Here is a video to show you the exact location (this video was made by runtstain100):

Double the Fun! – 10
Kill 2 Imps with one shotgun blast in DOOM 3, RoE, or Lost Mission

The best way to get this one done would be to find two Imps and then save your game. Then get their health down using a weaker gun such as the pistol. Once both are weakened, try and get them together at an angle that would allow your pellet spread to hit both. If you miss, simply load and try again. The Super Shotgun might be better for this as it has a wider pellet spread.

Killing time – 5
Score 25000 on Super Turbo Turkey Puncher 3 in DOOM 3 or RoE

In “Mars City,” after the short cut-scene of Doctor Betruger and Swann talking, continue forward down the hallway in front of you and eventually on your right there will be a room with the word “kitchen” written on the wall. Go into this room and in the far back left corner, you will find the machine.

You will need to play this game (which is literally just punching a turkey over and over and watching it explode) for about five minutes, give or take, to reach the high score of 25000 points
. You will get more points the quicker you hit the turkey.

You could always just sit in front of the machine and spam the
button or while you watch TV or do something menial until you unlock this if it’s too boring for your liking or you’re impatient.

Boomtastic – 10
Blow up 50 barrels in the DOOM 3, RoE, or Lost Mission campaigns

This is completely self-explanatory. Any time you see a red or yellow explosive barrel, just shoot it a couple times with your pistol (so you don’t use more precious ammo types) and let it blow; just make sure you are far enough away from it when it does.

This achievement should be cumulative across the game(s). Just make sure you blow up all the barrels you see and you shouldn't have a problem. It's possible to find an area with 3-4 barrels, save, shoot them all, load, and repeat the process until the achievement unlocks.

Ready for Action! – 10
Get the BFG-9000 from Security Chief's office in DOOM 3

At one point in the Delta Labs chain of levels, you will come to a section where you must use yellow boxes and a crane to reach a ventilation shaft on the wall above you to the right.

Get up there, then go through the shaft and drop down. Turn around and then look in front of you to the left. You will see an office room with the BFG-9000 inside. Input the code 931 on the door panel and there you have it.

Not a Scratch – 20
Complete a level without taking any damage in DOOM 3, RoE, or Lost Mission (except MarsCity)

The best level to accomplish this feat would be the very first level of RoE. None of the Mars City levels will count (Underground, etc.). Just make sure you save constantly and if you take a hit, simply load and continue.

RAGE – 10
Find the RAGE logo in the Lost Mission

This one is a lot like the secret id Software room achievement. The location of the RAGE logo is behind a wall to the left of the final boss stage in the Lost Mission (it's when you walk into the area and you are on the second story).

Credit goes to Lord Vinny for the description.

Speed Run – 20
Complete the DOOM 3 single player campaign in 10 hours or less

Finally! An amazing FPS game with a speed-run achievement! You’ll be surprised how easy this actually is, since the best speed-run in the world was done in less than two hours, which gives you eight whole hours of leeway.

Below is a speed-run video from the Speed Demons Archive on Nightmare which should help you in getting a good time.

Sticky Situation – 15
Defeat the Vagary boss in DOOM 3

Story related and cannot be missed.

This boss is fairly simple to beat. The Vagary is a female spider like enemy that is actually a normal enemy later in the game, but this first encounter is considered a boss. Just keep dodging her telekinesis attacks and let her have it with whatever you have ammo for. The Chaingun works very well for this boss.

Cookie Stealer – 15
Defeat Guardian boss in DOOM 3

Story related and cannot be missed.

The Guardian is the boss you must defeat within the Hell levels to gain the Soul Cube weapon.

The absolute easiest way to kill him would be to enter the portal with the BFG equipped and let the cut-scene finish, then let off a fully charged BFG shot right at his blue energy sphere; DEAD. If he doesn’t die, continue the fight like described below.

However, if for whatever reason this doesn’t work for you, then this is the second best way: try to utilize the pillars and corners as cover and shoot down the “seekers” first. They look like flying squid things with flashlights. Once you kill these, aim for the huge energy type sphere above the boss itself and you should have no problem defeating it.

Here is a video of the battle by AlanWilderDM:

You're Not My Boss! – 15
Defeat Sabaoth boss in DOOM 3

Story related and cannot be missed unless he commits suicide by blasting himself against one of the pillars with his own BFG.

This boss is Sergeant Kelly, but he has become mutated and possessed. A really easy and quick way to kill him is to make sure your Soul Cube is charged before entering the room for the fight and then right when the boss says the word “welcome,” launch the Soul Cube and then fire FIVE rockets and he should die in a few seconds.

Here is a speed kill video by xirvin92:

Big Boy – 15
Defeat Cyberdemon boss in DOOM 3

Story related and cannot be missed.

This is the final boss of the main game; the infamous Cyberdemon. He is actually fairly easy to beat, even on Nightmare. What you’re going to want to do is to stay as far away from him as possible and keep dodging his missiles, just like in classic Doom. Use smaller enemies to charge the Soul Cube, and then launch it at him a total of FOUR times. Four hits from the Soul Cube will kill the Cyberdemon.

Bot Buddy – 10
Keep a Sentry Bot alive to its destination in DOOM 3, RoE, or Lost Mission (except MarsCity)

This is very simple to do with the first combat engaged Sentry Bot that you find, which is located at EnPro Entrance. Just make a save before you proceed and if it dies, load and try again. It should be noted that they CAN be destroyed; they can just take a lot of damage. Try and protect it the same way it protects you. It’s a team effort you know.

Ripped! – 10
Use the chainsaw to kill 20 enemies in DOOM 3

Once you acquire the Chainsaw later in the game (at 'Communications'), simply let it rip and tear some enemies to shreds.

All of Us – 10
Find the id logo secret room in DOOM 3

This secret room is found LITERALLY right before the final boss fight with the Cyberdemon.

Near the end of the game you will be wondering down a stone block cave pathway and every few feet you will find an alcove. The very last alcove (to the left of the boss trigger) will have one stone block with the id Software logo engraved on it. Simply press the button or on this stone and the achievement is yours.

In case you are having difficulty locating this, here is a video guide by Dave6481:

You Laugh, It Works – 5
Find the bloody handiwork of Betruger (in Delta 4 Hallway) in DOOM 3

Right at the beginning of the Delta Labs 4 level, go through the first bloody hall, take a left, go through the next two doors, and then in the far back right corner you will see a bloody skeleton and beside him these exact words will be written in blood. Shine your flashlight on them and this one will be yours.

Thanks to Minahjjang for pointing this out.

Turncoat – 10
Get 2 demons to fight each other in DOOM 3, RoE, or Lost Mission

This is one gameplay mechanic of Doom that I have always loved. Monster infighting!

The way that infighting works in Doom 3 however is when a lower ranking demon hits a higher ranking one. So for instance, you will need to get an Imp to hit a Cacodemon, in which leads the Cacodemon to destroy the Imp. The Imp most likely will not fight back.

Thanks again to Minahjjang.

Soulfood – 10
Use the Soul Cube to defeat 20 enemies in DOOM 3

The Soul Cube will be obtained for the first time after you defeat the Guardian boss in Hell. This weapon is amazing because it has infinite uses as long as it’s charged and it’s a beast to kill things with. It will pretty much one hit kill everything in its path and when thrown it will attack the strongest enemy in its range first. Defeating 20 enemies with it should be no problem.

Evil Recruit – 5
Complete the RoE campaign on Recruit

Refer to “Evil Nightmare.”

Evil Marine – 10
Complete the RoE campaign on Marine

Refer to “Evil Nightmare.”

Evil Veteran – 15
Complete the RoE campaign on Veteran

Refer to “Evil Nightmare.”

Evil Nightmare – 20
Complete the RoE campaign on Nightmare

This is the second achievement for Nightmare difficulty, this time however you must complete the Resurrection of Evil campaign. Please refer to the achievement “DOOMed Nightmare” for more specific tips for Nightmare. This campaign is probably harder than the base game’s campaign is.

This time around, you will obtain another artifact different from the Soul Cube, this one being the Bloodstone. The Bloodstone is also referred to as “the Artifact.” It is basically a floating heart that grants you unique abilities such as invulnerability and slow motion which you will unlock through natural storyline progression. This artifact is crucial to defeating the bosses in this campaign as well as completing Nightmare.

Note that the Artifact does not restore health this time and it can only be restored by ways of health kits or med stations. The Artifact, unlike the Soul Cube, is recharged with human souls instead of Demon souls. One great thing however, on Nightmare the Bloodstone will already be fully powered and usable (possess all three abilities) once you defeat the Helltime Hunter. Defeating bosses on Nightmare just results in the Bloodstone to become fully recharged.

Evil Collector – 10
Collect every PDA in the RoE campaign

Just like in DOOM 3, PDAs are scattered around the levels and you must locate all of them in this campaign. Search every room and crevice to make sure you have found them all.

Please visit THIS post for a spreadsheet of all collectables found in chronological order.

Too Slow, Fool! – 10
Kill 5 enemies at once while in Hell Time in RoE

You will first obtain Hell Time for the Artifact once you defeat the Helltime Hunter boss. Hell Time is this game’s version of slow motion. It is activated by using the Bloodstone (see “Evil Nightmare”). A good spot for this is in Erebus Labs Level 3, but can be done anywhere there are five enemies together really.

Gimme Time! – 15
Defeat the Helltime Hunter in RoE

Story related and cannot be missed.

The Helltime Hunter is the first boss in the RoE campaign and must be defeated by grabbing the blue-ish green fireballs that are launched at you with the Grabber and tossing them back. Not too bad of a boss, but he can teleport and can be hard to anticipate. Five direct hits from the fireballs will kill this boss.

Gimme Power! – 15
Defeat the Berserk Hunter in RoE

Story related and cannot be missed.

The Berserk Hunter is the second out of three Hunter bosses in RoE.

This boss is more aggressive than the previous boss and has two attacks. One is a leap like melee attack; the other is once again launching fireballs. When the battle starts, use the Bloodstone and continue to fire the Super Shotgun into his heart. It should be noted that he can only be harmed while his chest is open and his heart is exposed and glowing.

Shocking! – 15
Defeat the Invulnerability Hunter in RoE

Story related and cannot be missed.

Enter the Invulnerability Hunter, the final of the three Hunter bosses. This one is easily the hardest of the three, possibly even the hardest boss in all of Doom 3.

What you’re going to want to do is right when the battle begins, jump away to the right or left and avoid his attacks. Keep moving during this fight to avoid as much damage as you can.

You will have noticed that a power core failed, resulting him to be vulnerable to attacks. While there is a static-like effect over his body is when he is vulnerable. Simply use the Bloodstone and let him have it while he can be hurt. When you see him beginning to power back up and the static effects get stronger, you will need to open the power core covers by pressing the control panels on them when they are green and then destroy them.

Repeat this process to take him down. Just watch out for his melee attack as it does massive damage.

Eat This! – 15
Defeat the Maledict boss in RoE

Story related and cannot be missed.

This is the final boss of the RoE expansion. The best way to tackle this boss is to use the Bloodstone and then unload rockets into him while he is flying. I would suggest using the Grabber on the Forgotten Ones that fly out to you. Dodge his attacks and when he lands, unload BFG rounds into him and he should go down fairly easily.

Play Catch – 10
Kill 20 enemies with projectiles launched from the Grabber in RoE

The Grabber (also known as the IPL) is a weapon very similar to the Gravity Gun from Half-Life 2. It can grab objects and toss them, and can even be used as a weapon in itself. The Grabber will be obtained right near the start of the game from a dying Marine. You will need to toss objects at 20 enemies and kill them with said tossed object.

On a related note, the Grabber is extremely useful for Forgotten Ones (fiery flying skulls) as it is an instant kill.

Fists of Fury – 10
Use the Artifact with Berserk ability to punch out 20 enemies in RoE

Once you defeat the Berserk Hunter boss, the Artifact will be granted the ability of Berserk. You will simply need to activate the Artifact enough times to obtain 20 melee kills while you are under the effects of it.

Lost Recruit – 5
Complete the Lost Mission campaign on Recruit

Refer to “Lost Nightmare.”

Lost Marine – 10
Complete the Lost Mission campaign on Marine

Refer to “Lost Nightmare.”

Lost Veteran – 15
Complete the Lost Mission campaign on Veteran

Refer to “Lost Nightmare.”

Lost Nightmare – 20
Complete the Lost Mission campaign on Nightmare

This is the third and final Nightmare achievement. You’re almost done. This campaign is farily short, consisting of only seven levels. It isn't much harder than the base game or RoE, and you are given the Soul Cube. Follow the basic tips for Nightmare and this shouldn’t be a problem.

Lost Collector – 10
Collect every PDA in the Lost Mission campaign

Just like all the other PDA collectable achievements, make sure you search each and every single place you can and make sure you kill friendlies (if any) as they may drop a PDA.

Please visit THIS post for a spreadsheet of all collectables found in chronological order.

Telefragged! – 10
Kill an enemy player by jumping into a teleporter after them in DOOM 3 Multiplayer

A telefrag is a kill in which you receive by teleporting onto someone else.

Refer to the last post of this guide on the best and quickest way to boost all the online achievements and refer to step four of the roadmap to find partners for boosting the online.

Crushed! – 10
Catch an enemy player in the Reactor of Frag Chamber in DOOM 3 Multiplayer

On the multiplayer map “Frag Chamber,” you must successfully activate the Reactor while an enemy player is trapped inside it.

Refer to the last post of this guide on the best and quickest way to boost all the online achievements and refer to step four of the roadmap to find partners for boosting the online.

Ninja Killer – 10
Kill 5 enemy players while using Invisibility in DOOM 3 Multiplayer

For this achievement, you must eliminate five enemy players while you are under the effects of the Invisibility powerup. This does not have to be five different players and can be done on the same person five times.

Refer to the last post of this guide on the best and quickest way to boost all the online achievements and refer to step four of the roadmap to find partners for boosting the online.

Clean Sheet – 15
Complete a DOOM 3 Multiplayer match without dying

Fairly self-explanatory, all you must do is complete an entire match without dying. You do not have to win however, so you could hide somewhere and hope you don’t die if attempting this legit.

Refer to the last post of this guide on the best and quickest way to boost all the online achievements and refer to step four of the roadmap to find partners for boosting the online.

Berserked! – 10
Use Berserk to kill a player in DOOM 3 Multiplayer

Just like Ninja Killer, except this time you will only need to kill one enemy player while under the effects of the Berserk powerup.

Refer to the last post of this guide on the best and quickest way to boost all the online achievements and refer to step four of the roadmap to find partners for boosting the online.

2 Deaths - 1 Gun – 10
Kill two enemies in the same room with a rocket in DOOM 3 Multiplayer

For this one, you must kill two DIFFERENT enemies in the same room at the same time with the rocket launcher. Usually one rocket may not kill both enemies, so it would be smart to wound them before firing or just keep firing rockets until you kill both together. This is basically just a double kill with the rocket launcher.

Refer to the last post of this guide on the best and quickest way to boost all the online achievements and refer to step four of the roadmap to find partners for boosting the online.

BEST AND QUICKEST ONLINE BOOSTING METHOD

Below is a fool-proof way to obtain all six online achievements in no time.

You will need at least three players to successfully boost the online, and the achievements CAN be done in private matches. It would take a minimum of two matches for everything but 2 Deaths - 1 Gun. These ALL can be completed in under an hour.

So to begin, you will want to start up a private game on the map "Frag Chamber." Set the score limit to unlimited, and set the time to unlimited.

The first and quickest thing to do would be to take turns obtaining Crushed! (refer to the guide on how exactly to obtain the achievements).

After the chamber closes and re-opens, an invisibility power-up will spawn, thereby allowing progress for Ninja Killer. The power-up lasts roughly one minute or so. If you are quick, you can get two kills with one usage. To get the power-up to re-spawn, just keep opening and closing the chamber. During this time another player could be going for Crushed!.

Once that is done, head to the rocket launcher spawn (which is in the wide blue-walled room at the bottom of the stairs near the chamber) and proceed to obtain 2 Deaths - 1 Gun for each player.

Next step once the above three achievements are done, go back to the lobby and change the map to "The Edge 2." Once again, set the values for score and time to unlimited.

Allow each player to obtain the Telefragged! achievement by swapping out turns. So for instance, Player A goes into the teleporter, Player B goes in after and gets the achievement off Player A. Then Player C gets the achievement off Player B. Lastly, Player A comes back and gets the achievement off Player C. See how easy that was? If doing with this two players, simply cut out one of the players' moves.

After going through the teleporter, you will notice a Berserk power-up near you. Let each player get one kill by using the power-up to then obtain Berserked!. There is about a two minute wait for it to respawn, so be prepared to sit for a while.

We are at the last step! Change the map to any map (preferably the smallest map) and change the score to the lowest possible value and keep the time at unlimited. Let one player kill ONE other player until the score limit is reached. Two of you should have just gotten Clean Sheet. Now let a new match begin and then let the one player who was dying kill the two who just got it five times in total.

Now each player should be done with the online!

The Clean Sheet achievement could be mixed in with the others, but I find it would be best to hold it as a separate task to avoid confusion.

Nice work bLaKgRaVy and CurseofSamhain!

Question A question regarding the Grabber??

The Grabber (also known as the IPL) is a weapon very similar to the Gravity Gun from Half-Life 2. It can grab objects and toss them, and can even be used as a weapon in itself. The Grabber will be obtained right near the start of the game from a dying Marine. You will need to toss objects at 20 enemies and kill them with said tossed object.

On a related note, the Grabber is extremely useful for Forgotten Ones (fiery flying skulls) as it is an instant kill.

Just a little question regarding the Grabber,I'm wondering if this is only available in the "Lost mission" or is it also available in RoE?
I'm pretty sure it isn't available in Doom 3 since that I'm almost through....
PS. Awesome guide,a shame they have been a little stingy with the gamerscore for this game, especially if you compare the game hrs of this vs. other games it should easily have been 1000,but then again I would play it no matter what it's simply to awesome

This secret room is found LITERALLY right before the final boss fight with the Cyberdemon.

Near the end of the game you will be wondering down a stone block cave pathway and every few feet you will find an alcove. The very last alcove will have one stone block with the id Software logo engraved on it. Simply press the use button on this stone and the achievement is yours.
I found a video showing the location of the secret room (shown from the beginning of the level). You need to find this room to recover the super secret id Software PDA in order to unlock the "DOOMed Collector" achievement.

I only take credit for Google searching this, not in the creation.

You will first obtain Hell Time for the Artifact once you defeat the Helltime Hunter boss. Hell Time is this game’s version of slow motion. It is activated by using the Bloodstone (see “Evil Nightmare”). Simply try to find a group of five enemies and then activate the Bloodstone.
A most excellent spot for this:

EREBUS - LEVEL 3 - EREBUS LABS
After you obtain the second power cell from Administrative Office and are heading back towards Artifact Storage Control, you will hear laughter and the room turns red when you enter Lab Systems. This is a perfect place to use Hell Time since 9-10 zombies appear, making it easy.

This section is a few rooms after you pick up the third PDA (Steven Crane) of this section and a few rooms before you pick up the fourth (Viktor Kharkov).

You will need to play this game (which is literally just punching a turkey over and over and watching it explode) for a good while to reach the high score of 25000 points

You could always just sit in front of the machine and spam the

It's , not . Takes no more than five minutes. You get more points the faster you mash the button.

That is no right. This achievement is missable. It is possible that the boss kills himself with his BFG (blast) and this does not unlock the achievement. Fought him 3 times an twice he committed suicide behind a pillar.

Eventually you will arrive in Alpha Labs section four of the Alpha Labs chain of levels. At one point in this level, you will go through a door and enter a room with a control panel overlooking some sort of chamber with orange walls.

There will be a scientist trapped inside and to obtain this, you must choose “Activate Chamber” from the screen’s menu instead of “Open Chamber.” Poor Joe.

Here is a video to show you the exact location (excuse the title; this video was made by runtstain100):
Might want to add this...

In order to get two PDA's (in a secret room), you must open the chamber instead of activating it. You could manually save before doing either option, then activate it for the achievement, reload and then open it for the PDA's. You would have to do it in that order (get the PDA's the second time). If you open it first, the PDA's won't save if you reload.

I don't know if you can activate the chamber then open it. I never tried it.

Also, for "Boomtastic", when I get the game, I'm going to save my game when I get to some barrels, explode some barrels, then reload the save and explode them again, repeating to see if it still counts. It works in other games, why not this one? Should only take a couple of minutes if I find an area with a few barrels.

I'll report what I find. It might be a good alternative in case someone doesn't think about exploding barrels when they're playing the campaign.

EDIT - Scrap that. I'm not going to bother reloading. The reload times SUCK, and I don't want to shoot two barrels then wait a minute to reload. It would take me 20-30 minutes. I'm already at 10 and I just got to the first Imp, so just keep your eyes peeled for them.

Thanks guys for all the great feedback and I will adjust the guide and update it in a little while, right now I am a bit dug in to Minecraft 1.8 update. Hang in there and everything will be changed.

So glad to hear I can save anywhere!

I am fairly sure they do. I have seen my friend's list and he did the Lost Mission on Marine and unlocked Recruit.

I'm positive that "Boomtastic" is cumulative.

I started one game and got to the first two barrels (where you have to kill that scientist to get his PDA after you go through the security office in Mars City where you get your pistol). I saved before I blew them up then reloaded 6 times for a total of 12 (this is when I posted on Tuesday that I would test and see if reloading worked). Well, since the reload times suck, I decided just to press on.

I figured I only had two barrels destroyed at that point, so I continued. When I got to Administration: Alpha Labs Hallway (where the two Imps blow through that door), I had maybe 11 or 12 destroyed (I do know it was at least 10). Since I had missed an early PDA (Mars City Underground: Garage), and since I wasn't too far into the game, I decided to start a new game.

I recounted every barrel I came across from the start and sure enough, when I got to the same point in Administration, I had 12 destroyed (so technically now I'm up to 36). I continued on, and towards the end of Alpha Labs Sector 1, I had destroyed another 7 (I hit these 7 after I had picked up the last PDA [Bernie Lipsitz] in Sector 1). There were 3 together, and I walked through a door and destroyed another 4 (so cumulatively, I'm at 43 now and I think I'm only at 19).

Well, luckily I had saved before this, and since I thought I miscounted, I again reloaded. I destroyed the 3 again and then the 4 in the next room and then the achievement unlocked. At 50 exactly.

So, this achievement is definitely cumulative within one game (Doom 3) if you keep reloading, even if you start a new game. I don't know if it counts if you destroy 30 in Doom 3, 10 in RoE and another 10 in Lost Mission, but I'm not gonna try it.

As I mentioned, after you get the last PDA in Sector 1, you'll come across 7 barrels in two adjacent rooms. If you think you're close and just want to get the achievement out of the way, this is a good place to reload (sorry, I don't remember what section/room these were in):

Quote:
The first room has one barrel standing by itself and two barrels next to each other (and a pistol Z-Sec shooting at you near the first barrel). If you turn right to go through a door, the walkway falls through and you have to jump up to keep going (it's not life threatening). A machine gun Z-Sec guy comes through that door if you take your time getting there. After you go through that door, something throws a barrel down at you from a ledge up on the left. If you sidestep the barrel, another one might be thrown down. Go up the stairs and you will see a Maggot and a machine gun Z-Sec guy along with two more barrels up there (three if the second one wasn't thrown down). Just save when you get to this first room and reload after you've destroyed all 7 barrels. If you've gotten them all up to this point, you should have 12 before you reach this room. It's just a matter of reloading 6 times and you'll get this achievement!
Since this works, I'm convinced that the 20 melee, chainsaw and Soul Cube kills will work as well. Incidentally, the melee achievement didn't unlock for me until I hit 28 kills. I had shot some to weaken them then melee'd them, so maybe those didn't count? I keep relatively good track of these kinds of achievements (especially for a game that doesn't have a tracker) and it was definitely 28 melees.

EDIT - According to KJT CD ACD on TA, you will hit 50 barrels in Doom 3 when you get to 'EnPro Plant: Lower Storage Hall', that is if you've found and destroyed every other barrel before this. So it can be done either way. It's only 10 gamerscore...

Might be worth mentioning that 'Not a Scratch' works on Nightmare despite your health ticking down on it's own. People might wonder about that. I popped it on UAC Administration during my Nightmare run.

Um, yeah, you're gonna have to do a whole other playthrough from beginning to end. This game doesn't let you go back to previously explored areas much, and there is no "chapter" select. You have to get every collectible, in order, in one playthrough, much like Rage.

Maybe Nevander should mention it in the roadmap that all collectibles must be obtained in one playthrough.

Seems a bit harsh that just because you missed one storage locker you're not going to enjoy the other four games on the disc. Are achievements your only concern here, not enjoying the game? I have to say, that's pretty lame.

Welcome to the forums.

yeah maybe it's lame, it's just the fact since I reached the full 2000 on gears3 more then 7 months ago,I don't have the balls anymore to do those achievs, I'm not saying the game is bad, played it a few times on the original xbox in the old days, but achievos like that just ruins the game, searching for more then 100 collectibles in such a dark game and then they couldn't save it to another walkthrough is just such a shame they did that... and offcours I gonna play it till the end and those extra levels but that's it, life is to short to spend it on this..
cheers

Edit: Ninja'd lol

My first thought is that you would have to get everything again, however I am not entirely sure. It's possible that if you have a save near one you missed, you could theoretically load it and get the one you missed and trigger the achievement.

Beat ya to it!

But if you have a save for a previous area, that would mean everything you obtained after that save would be lost, wouldn't it, since you technically haven't gotten anything yet. At least I would think so.

I've been making separate saves at the beginning of each area (Mars City, Underground, Mars City 2, Administration, etc...) just in case I found that if I had forgotten a collectible, I wouldn't have to start all over again from the very beginning. Luckily, since I started again after missing one PDA, I've gotten everything.
