http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/198/1zc8P2Ni.jpg The Warrior - Complete the game on Normal difficulty (100GS)

Just play through the game on normal, fairly easy (especially if you've played the game before on Xbox). There are a fair bit of checkpoints evenly spaced so even if you die you shouldn't have to do too much over again. Take cover when your shield goes down (duh) and use the Battle Rifle and Plasma Pistol whenever you can. Use the Plasma Pistol to take down the Elites' shield (it has quite a bit of homing so you don't need to worry too much about aiming) and shoot them in the head with the Battle Rifle.

The Battle Rifle or Carbine is your friend against Covenant, one hit kill for headshots (a dot will appear in the middle of the crosshair if you're aiming at the head) on all except Brutes. You'll need to get the Elites's shields down and then headshot with BR for an instant kill. That coupled with it's range, accuracy and zoom makes it a great go-to weapon. Good in all situations.

Dual Wielding is also effective, but I tend to stick with two handed weapons (Battle Rifle, Shotgun etc.) because that gives you the advantage of being able to throw grenades, and because the BR is a great weaopn (as detailed above).

If you're still having trouble, Chuck Norris621 has posted an excellent walkthrough here.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/198/1zc8P2Nj.jpgHero - Complete the game on Heroic difficulty (50GS)

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/198/1Dc8P2Ni.jpgLegend - Complete the game on Legendary difficulty (50GS)

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/198/0Tc8P2Ni.jpgKing of the Scarab - Acquire the Scarab gun on the Metropolis level, any difficulty (20GS)

The Scarab gun is an easter egg on the Metropolis level. It looks like a Plasma Rifle but it shoots the same kind of energy shots that the Scarab does (the giant four-legged tank that is ravagin the city in the Outskirts and Metropolis levels).

Getting to the Scarab Gun is kind of tricky, as you need a banshee to get to it, and the area where it is doesn't have any banshees available.

Right when you start out kill all your teammates and head over the bridge. If you don't kill your temmates they will destroy the Banshee that you need. Kill all then enemies on the way over. When you get to the other side of the bridge two Banshees should appear. Shoot at one to get it's attention and get it to follow you down into the tunnel.

When the warthog shows up destroy it as well. Keep moving through the tunnel all the while making sure that the Banshee is following you. If it turns around and heads back shoot at it to get it to follow you. Once you get the Banshee past the second roadblock lure it into the smaller tunnel.

If the Banshee gets stuck, shoot off it's wings (don't melee, shoot). Take it down the side tunnel to the left. As soon as it's says "Loading.... Done", board the Banshee (if you don't it will dissappear). Fly out and up, up high in the sky there are two bridges between two skyscrapers. Fly to the middle of the one closest to you and you should see a Plasma Rifle floating in the air a little bit above the ground. Pick it up and you now have the Scarab Gun!

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/198/0jc8P2Nh.jpgSilent But Deadly - Kill 7 opponents from behind in a row without being spotted, any level, any difficulty (20GS)

Easiest to do on Easy. Though also very doable on Normal.

Easy way to do it is on the level "Delta Halo". When you walk along a creek and kill a jackal from behind. Right after that area you will get to a building on a lake. There are several jackals, elites and grunts. Snipe these from afar and it should unlock.

(I got spotted by one of the jackals, reverted to the last checkpoint and sniped some more and got the achievement).

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/198/0jc8P2Ni.jpg Demon - Complete any campaign level without dying once on Normal, Heroic, or Legendary (25GS)

As it says, don't die. Do it on Normal to make it easy on yourself. Hang back and take it easy, take down the Elites' shields with the Plasma Pistol, use headshots with the Battle Rifle and lots of grenades. Easiest level to do this on is probably Cairo, the first level. Just be extra careful, take cover as soon as your shields start to go down, and don't rush in.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/198/1Dc8P2Nj.jpg Go Ape Shiv - Kill an enraged, berserk Brute by melee, any level, any difficulty (20GS)

You'll know that the Brute has gone berserk when he drops his weapon and starts charging at you on all fours. To get one to go berserk, just kill one of them (they usually travel in pairs). The other one will go berserk. Then jump over him as he charges past you and hit him (you may need to dodge several charges and hit several times).

The earliest point you can do this is at the start of the level "Gravemind".

(This is a work in progress and I will add more and expand upon it as I go along)

Multiplayer achievements

(All multiplayer achievements can be done very easily if you have an achievement buddy, and it shouldn't take too long. You will need more buddies to get the Rainman and Double Kill, Triple Kill and Killtacular achievements, but even then it's quick and easy.)

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/198/0jc8P2Nj.jpgStick It - Stick an opponent with a plasma grenade and blow them up (5GS)

Easy, just throw a plasma grenade (the blue glowing ones) at an opponent in multiplayer and it will stick (provided you've aimed right). Even easier if you get a buddy to do it with.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/198/0zc8P2Ni.jpgCounterpoint - Kill the sword carrier (5GS)

Another easy one, just kill the person who has the sword in a multiplayer game. Several easy ways to do this, wither snipe him, shoot him before he gets close enough, hit him in the back etc. etc. Also very easy to do with a buddy.

The person needs to have the sword in his hand, not just as the hidden second weapon.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/198/0jc8P2Nk.jpgCarjacking - Steal an occupied vehicle from an opponent and take it over (5GS)

When you are close enough to an occupied vehicle, a prompt should show up telling you to press a button to take over the vehicle. Probably easiest to do on a Ghost, as with Warthogs and tanks, you'll need to board, take care of the driver, jump off and then enter the vehicle manually. Of course you can do this with a buddy if you are trading achievments.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/198/1Dc8P2Nk.jpgViolent Cartographer - Play every available default map and stay in each game until it’s over (25GS)

As it says, just play all of the default maps, you don't need to win. You need to have at least 3 players in the match. Set it to 1 kill to win to save time.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/198/1zc8P2Nk.jpgRainman - Play every available game variant, with at least 3 other players, to the end of each game (25GS)

You don't need to win, all you need to do is finish the game and have at least four players (including you) in the match. Set the time limit to the smallest you can. You need to play each variant of every gametype. Ie you need to not just play CTF, but 1 Flag CTF, CTF Classic etc.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/198/0Dc8P2Nj.jpgDouble Kill - Kill 2 opponents within 4 seconds (20GS)

This one shouldn't be too hard at all, even if you're not that good a player. Either in a Slayer match (free for all) kill two people who are fighting each other, my favorite is a Battle Rifle and head-shot for a quick kill when they have taken each others shields down. Also easy in Team games, as your friends will be helping you (hopefully) to kill the other team.

See "Killtacular"

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/198/1jc8P2Nj.jpgTriple Kill- Kill 3 opponents within 4 seconds (20GS)

See "Killtacular"

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/198/0Dc8P2Nk.jpgKilltacular - Kill 4 opponents within 4 seconds (20GS)

A rare occurrence, even for a good player, if you're not doing it with friends it more or less comes down to mostly luck. Probably the quickest ways are coming across four players in a row when you have the sword. Try playing games with 16 players and try to get the sword.

The easiest way is to get 4 buddies and get them to stand as close together as they can, then just shoot a rocket at them, stick one of them with a plasma granade or chuck in two frag grenades. You should get all three achievements at once.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/198/0jc8P2Nl.jpgKilling Spree - Kill 5 opponents in a row in the same game, without dying (20GS)

As the descripton says, just kill five people without dying. Try to hang back and not rush in, especially if your shields are down.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/198/0Tc8P2Nj.jpgRunning Riot - Kill 10 opponents in a row in the same game, without dying (20GS)

A little harder than a Killing Spree, if you're half decent playing with people of the same skill level. If you're pretty good or playing against bad players it shouldn't be too hard.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/198/0Dc8P2Nl.jpgSniper Kill - Kill an opponent with the sniper rifle or the beam rifle (10GS)

Just shoot someone once in the head or twice in the body with a sniper or beam rifle. Almost every map has at least one, but you can always set the starting weapon to snipers.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/198/1Dc8P2Nl.jpgRoadkill - Run over, hit and kill an opponent with a vehicle (10GS)

Easiest with a ghost, wait until your opponent has jumped in the air. Then as he is coming down boost towards him, you should kill him as he is coming down. Or run him over with a warthog (just don't honk, if you do they'll know you're coming, same tactic with the ghost can be applied to the Wraith (the Covenant's tank).

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/198/0Tc8P2Nk.jpgBonecracker - Hit and kill an opponent with a melee attack (10GS)

Just hit someone twice from the front, or take down his shield and then hit him. You should get this after a couple of games, but easy with a buddy.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/198/1Dc8P2Nm.jpgAssassin - Melee an opponent from behind (10GS)

Hit someone in the back (instant kill). Either get it through normal play (should come fairly early) or do it with a buddy.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/198/0Tc8P2Nl.jpgSkewer Stopper - Kill the sword carrier after they kill 5 or more times in a row with the sword (20GS)

A little trickier, as they have to kill someone 5 times in a row with the sword, so they can't switch to another weapon and kill someone. Probably easiest to do this with a buddy, though you should luck upon it sooner or later, try playing a lot of maps with swords on them (Lockout, Ivory Tower, Midship, Warlock etc.)

The person needs to have the sword in his hand in orde for him to be a "sword carrier".

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/198/1Tc8P2Nm.jpgVigilante - Stop a Killing Spree of another player (10GS)

Stop someones killing spree. If you do this with a buddy you can get this and Skewer Stopper at the same time. As with all multiplayer achievements you are bound to stop someones killing spree sooner or later.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/198/1zc8P2Nl.jpgAir Traffic Control - Blow up the Banshee in flight while manned, with grenades or the rocket launcher (20GS)

Play on a map with the Banshee (Ascension, Coagulation, Waterworks, Headlong, Containment) grab the rockets and lock on (hold down fire) and shoot the Banshee (release fire). Someone is sure to take the banshee and just shoot him out of the sky when he does. Easy with a buddy.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/198/0Dc8P2Nm.jpgDecorated Soldier - Get awarded at least 8 different medals in one non-team game (10GS)

Easiest to do in Slayer, and simple with a buddy or tow. Here are the medals that are easiest to get in one game, play a map with vehicles and put ghosts on and it should be even easier.

Medals:

Sniper (snipe someone)

Sticky (stick some one with a plasma grenade)

Assassination (hit someone in the back)

Beatdown (kill someone with a melee)

Double Kill (kill two players within 4 seconds)

Killing Spree (kill five players without dying)

Hijack (board a vehicle)

Road Kill (run someone over, easy to do right after Hijacking)

The achievement will unlock when the game ends, the host can end it and you will still get it.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/198/1zc8P2Nm.jpgNinja - In a non-team game, kill 5 people by melee, from behind (20GS)

Hit five people in the back (i.e get an Assassination medal five times), best gametype for this is probably Slayer, doesn't matter if you die in between. Easy to do with a buddy or in a longish game (15+ minutes)

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/198/0Tc8P2Nm.jpgFlaming Ninja - Kill an opponent that has the Ninja achievement (20GS)

Just kill someone with the Ninja achievement, that person doesn't have to have killed five people from behind that game, he just has to have that achievement. After a while lot's of people should have the Ninja achivement and all you need to do is kill one of them once. Or let your achievement buddy get the Ninja achievement and then kill him.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/achievements/198/0zc8P2Nj.jpgHired Gun - Kill an opponent who has the Legend achievement (20GS)

Probably the last multiplayer achievement you should get, as beating the game on Legendary isn't something most players will have done. Hopefully you should find someone who has it and is willing to let you kill them.

If you've beat the game on Legendary, just walk into the beam on uplift, effectively killing yourself and netting you the achievement.

(Yes, I know that on some of the achievements it just has the achievement description. That's because this is a work in progress and I will add more and expand upon it as I go along)

Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question graemlunn. :(

Anyway, Chuck Norris is right-you can't just say 'finish the level' and not decribe how to beat it. At the very least you could put up a link TO a walthrough.

Here's another problem you had Zam, one thing I usually expect someone to PLAY and BEAT the game before they give advice on how to do so. It's easy for you just to say that the game will be easy because everybody has played it. That is definately not an assumption you should make when writing an achivement guide. You cannot cater to an average palyer, you must try to write the guide as if someone is playing it for the first time.

I certainly understand that not all of the older guides are like that; but you should try to change it. Just because you see the other guides aren't written as well as they should have been, doesn't mean you shouldn't write YOURS well.

Also, you might suggest actually getting the multiplayer achievements by LEGIT means, and give some hints on how.

I see that you are trying hard to write the guide. (I think) Just take my suggestions, and others, into consideration for the guides you may write in the future.

Sorry to go :offtopic: a smidge but I am a bit shitty when it comes to knowing if this game will run on my laptop.

The laptop I have is THIS ONE could anyone tell me if Halo 2 will run ok and PM me to let me know.

Cheers peeps :woop:

Your RAM, is excellent for this game. Your processor would do fine with some settings tweaking in Halo, but since your graphics card is DX9, it's not going to work at all. Halo 2 vista is strictly DX10.

Ok, sorry Manatee, but I'm calling you out on this one. Your response is completely incorrect about the graphics card. Since the card is shared graphics, and he has 2GB of RAM (which is where the card "shares" from) he'll be fine to play on low graphics settings.

Just because the game is on Vista doesn't mean it's DX10 (because it's not).

There aren't even any DX10 games released yet, like Crysis.

I have beaten the game multiple times, and played it to death in multiplayer (over a year non-stop).

I did write down tips on getting the multiplayer achievements legit, most of them are just stupid easy, I have also added more tips and explanations. The crux is that it's hard to explain in even more detail, as to it being a PC game without a set control scheme (i.e I can't write press "B" to melee)..

Thanks for the suggestions, I still don't consider the guide finished and will continue adding to it, keeping yours and others suggestions and tips in mind.

In other news, the guide made the HBO (halo.bungie.org) news: http://nikon.bungie.org/news.html?item=18706 =D

A couple of things that need to be updated:

Viloent Cartographer:

You need at least 3 people in the game for the map to count. You can also just set it to 1 kill for smaller maps so it goes faster.

Rainman:

You have to play every default variant, not just any one of the 7 main types. This means for CTF you need to do them all, 1 Flag, 1 Flag Fast, 2 Flag, etc.

Hired Gun:

If you have the Legend achievement you can walk into the beam on Uplift and it will give you credit for killing yourself, and thus, the achievement. If not, just contact someone you know who has it. Give it a few more weeks, it won't be that uncommon for someone to have Legend.

Nice guide Zam. Don't worry about the haters bro. I really feel sorry for anyone who can't figure out how to get through a Halo 2 level. Nice tip on the SBD Achievement! Worked perfect.:)

I don't 'hate', I merely criticize. All I gave was very constrcutive criticizm. I, in no way 'hated'. In fact I think you're 'hating' on everyone else for calling them 'haters'.

And to you Zam, I was referring to HALO 2 VISTA. I was NOT questioning that you beat Halo 2, but rather the Vista version, when I posted almost 2 months ago. And yes, they are different. I don't know about you, but it was hard for me and a lot of other friends I know to adapt from a console controller to a keyboard. Seeing as how people will try to get the achievements the cheapest way possible, meaning they only use a keyboard, not buy one of those controller pads, I think you should play through the game on the keyboard, and then write your guide according to the way it is different from the xbxo version. (<<<run-on sentence of the highest magnitude) I mean how can you seriously think that I was talking about the xbox version?

I beat Halo 2 Vista before it was released, and I played one level using mouse and keyboard. Game felt exactly the same, with the only difference being getting used to the keyboard and which keys does what.

OK, could we try and organize a good time for four of us (including myself) to do Rainman, Violent Cartographer and Decorated Solider? They're the only three multiplayer achievements I need, and then I can get started with SP - it's I have a Gold account for a 3 more weeks and wont be able to get multiplayer achievements past that time.

I can play tonight - 5pm - 6pm GMT and tomorrow 5pm - 6pm GMT and 7pm - 9pm GMT.

lol, This guy makes no sense. At least I don't get him. The game seemed just like the xbox version to me, hands down. And the whole keyboard thing, what? hehe. Nice one,

:uzi:deathpig. j/k bro just giving you a hard time. :woop:

Could we also get a list of all the different map names and a list of all the game types needed to play to get the Rainman and Violent Cartographer achievements?

Also, does anyone know if you have to start the game to get credit for the play through? I don't know if you have to be there before the game launches or if you can join a game in progress and stay until it's completion.
