CherryCokeChaos's Gamercard
Achievement Guide.

This is my first time writing a guide so bear with me...

Mission 1 Clear 10G

See Mission All Clear.

Mission 2 Clear 10G

See Mission All Clear.

Mission 3 Clear 10G

See Mission All Clear.

Mission 4 Clear 10G

See Mission All Clear.

Mission 5 Clear 10G

See Mission All Clear.

Mission 6 Clear 10G

See Mission All Clear.

Mission 7 Clear 10G

See Mission All Clear.

Mission All Clear 30G

Shoot everything that moves. Seriously. You can get all these achievements simply by putting the game on beginner difficulty, choosing any character and going through all seven missions, as long as you keep firing and throwing grenades you should be fine. All bosses have fairly obvious weakpoints and will blink a yellow colour when you are doing damage to them. Some people have had problems with the tiny wind up boxes, these are small yellow boxes with a crank on them, simply line yourself up with them and hammer X quickly to turn the crank and gain the result. If anyone has any other problems I will add them as they arise...

Frontal Attack 15G

The description for this achievement "Use a frontal attack to kill boss" can be misleading. What it requires you to do is finish off the first boss (at least thats where I did it) using the "Special Attack" of the metal slug. Grab the metal slug (Tank thing) in the third main area of level 1 (You can do this on beginner to make it easier) and keep it with you all the way to the boss (Next area) Now shoot the boss until it's nearly dead (It should look fairly shabby and be smoking a lot) then when it pops out to your right, hit LB and you will jump out of the metal slug allowing it to do a sort of kamikaze attack on the boss, if you kill it doing this, achievement unlocked.

100 MORDEN Soldiers 15G

There are 100 P.O.Ws (Guys with long hair tied up and hidden in levels) who need to be rescued, there are a 100 in total and as long as you have rescued them once regardless of if you die as long as you complete the level they will be saved. HOWEVER I have saved all 100 and the achievement still hasnt unlocked so I will leave off info on these until I solve the mystery (Or someone is nice and solves it for me ;P)

The Paths of Fate 20G

Although it sounds hard to find all the different paths through the levels it only applies to a few and with the level select feature you can just go back and find the next path after you have completed the level.

In the first mission, there are two routes you can take.
When you get to the area with the tank a barrel of TNT and some rubble you can blow it up and continue to the right OR crouch down and walk underneath the platform with the tank on to fall into a new area.

In the fifth mission, there are three routes you can take.
At the end of the second area (with all the parachuting) you can either continue to the right OR go left through the wall into a secret passage that ends in a teleportation tube OR jump over this tube to get to the secret alien base.

Those are the ones I used to unlock the achievement, if I have missed any please let me know.

Metal Slug XX Master 50G
Clear all the missions without continue - Good luck with this, I'd suggest playing on beginner and choosing Ralph as he seems to get a free life every so often and just be knocked down by attacks as opposed to killed by them, otherwise just learn the levels and the boss patterns and keep shooting.

Right hope that clears a lot up for people, plz give feedback, have a great day.

I wonder if Metal Slug master can be done using level select and just making sure you clear each level that way? Rather than in 1 playthrough.

Also good guide

thanks for the guide! I just had one question for the All Missions Clear achievement. I finished all the missions, and this didn't pop. I think it may be because I didn't play through the entire game in one sitting, could that be it?

Thanks!

Yes, you have to do them in one sitting, you cannot use the Mission Select to make things easier, besides, you'll have Free Play, and you'll get it easy.

Thanks a lot for that! I'm going to play it a lot so I'm sure I'll finish it in one session soon!

Thank you so much, I was so confused by the Frontal Attack one, I thought they meant your melee special move so I had a very frustrating time standing infront of the boss in mission 4 smacking it over and over.

metal slug master seems impossible even with easy.... I remember this game back in the arcade version, they made cash like crazy since it was so easy to die.

did the makers of the game just get lazy with those last four achievements? am saying this because they are in black&white opposed to the other ones in color...i dont see any logic to that.

and thanks for the good guide

When you look at you achievement list, achievements that you haven't obtained yet are in black and white. At the time the guide was written, literally no one had said achievements, hence they are in black and white.

For the 100 soldiers achievement I have noticed that if you die you lose the soldiers that you saved. At the end of the mission it shows how many you have saved and i've saved a lot during a mission but died at the boss and at the end it said 0 saved. So I believe you need to either save 100 without dying or (hopefully) just save 100 and have them count at the end of the level with multiple playthroughs.
