Scotian Bred
DAYS OF THUNDER:Arcade Achievement Guide ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ NOTE: This guide was written by Scotian Bred for use on x360a.org and no where else. http://tiles.xbox.com/tiles/JE/co/0YCLiGJhbC82FQUXXFJRbjBGL2FjaC8wL0IAAAAA5+fn-gdHPw==.jpg Challenger Complete all the Challenges. 50 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png The "paint logo" challenges are the only ones you need to focus on and work towards. The "paint style" and "number style" challenges are just shorter versions of those. List of paint logo challenges and how to gain them: Pass 400 cars. This should come while completing career. Just never go to qualifying and always start at the back of the pack. Should come with normal progression through career. Crash 100 times. If you don't gain 100 crashes by the end of career mode start up a quick race on Dover Oval with a car without performance enhancements. Then just keep ramming back and forth between walls. Your crew chief will tell you that you need to pit but you may continue gaining crashes without worry. (A crash is when you get a different camera view and a slow-mo replay). Take out 100 cars. Best left until after career mode where you will have unlocked "Rowdy Derby" in quick race. Start up a Derby and hit cars while in focus and traveling at a decent speed and you should gain a take out. Best track for this is once again, Dover Oval. Draft for 4 minutes. To draft you must first get in behind an opponent and you should see a wind effect coming off the car, put your car into this wind and you will gain some hammer. Should come with normal progression through career. Use hammer 200 times. Hammer is basically turbo, and it is used with A and can be filled by drafting, making clean laps and good pit stops. Hold down or tap A to gain 200 uses of hammer. Should come with normal progression through career. Use hammer for 4 minutes total. Same as above but you must hold A for a little longer then just a few taps to gain the 4 minutes need. Should come with normal progression through career. Use focus 400 times. Focus is basically Slow-mo, and it is used with X and can be filled by bumping cars, walls and impacts. Hold down or tap X to gain 200 uses of hammer. Should come with normal progression through career. Use focus for 4 minutes total. Same as above but you must hold X for a little longer then just a few taps to gain the 4 minutes need.Should come with normal progression through career. Spend 10 minutes off road. Some tracks have grass or dirt lining the track. This is where your car must be to gain time "off-road". Should come with normal progression through career mode. Enter the pits 200 times. If you complete career mode without gaining this challenge then just start up a quick race on any track, head into the pits, leave, then drive in reverse back to the pits. Doing this over and over is the best possible way to gain pit stops easily. Race for 2 hours. This should come with basic progression through career mode without no issues. http://tiles.xbox.com/tiles/eE/ZR/0ICLiGJhbC9AFQUXXFJRbjBGL2FjaC8wLzQAAAAA5+fn-35GYw==.jpg Rubbin' is Racin' Get over 9,000 Points in Rowdy Derby Mode. 20 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png To first unlock Rowdy Derby you must complete career mode. Once you have done that go to quick race and begin a Rowdy Derby on the Dover Oval track. The key to gaining points is to take down your opponents. To do so, gain lots of speed, hit focus (X) and ram into the rear or sides of other cars. 9000 points isn't much trouble once you understand how Rowdy Derby works. http://tiles.xbox.com/tiles/Tl/Rq/1YCLiGJhbC8wFQUXXFJRbjBGL2FjaC8wL0QAAAAA5+fn+kVUVQ==.jpg Don't put yourself into the wall Compete in your first Derby match. 5 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png First complete career mode to unlock "Rowdy Derby". Motorexskygtr32
Thank you for the guide. I have been waiting for this because I have asked a lot of questions regarding of achievements on other topic. I knew that you didn't have to get 1st place to beat the career but its helpful to get it done by place 1st to 3rd. Uh...where's the roadmap? anthonyd46
Just to let you know just completed the amateur cup and had a season standing of 6th and it says your season standing needs to be 3rd or better to advance but the good news you can pick an individual race you did bad on and improve your finish to raise your season standing so least you dot need to do all 6 over. I don't know how accurate this is. I just finished 19th in a race and was still awarded 3 performance points.
nappster187
Why make a second guide for a game that really didnt even need 1 in the first place... with the exception of writing out every challenge they are pretty much the same....
Motorexskygtr32
Why make a second guide for a game that really didnt even need 1 in the first place... with the exception of writing out every challenge they are pretty much the same.... Good question, but don't know who did the guide first. I personally likes this guide better than other. This one is more detailed and more explained to how get these in a quickly way. Other guy's guide is lazy, slap in the face to tell you the same description of each achievements but really don't tell you how you exactly get this such an example, how do you get Rowdy's Derby? This guide tell you that which other guide dont. EDIT: After playing this game for a couple hours and beating Amateur cup, I only got 10 performance points invested in the car so far. How in the world you end up getting all points for Gearhead achievement by end of the Amateur cup??? I placed all 1st except 3rd place in the last race of Amatuer cup. So how is that possible? It making me worried that I might have not had enough points to invested by finish all 3 cups. Edited March 1, 2011 by Motorexskygtr32

I see how you could say the first guide was lazy, as I did it really quick since there was no guide and people had a few questions. But I would say I gave detailed descriptions of each achievement, but thanks for the input. As for the Gear head achievement, no you cant get it by the end of the first cup series, you only get 6 points total(1each race). Motorexskygtr32
Sorry if that offended you then my apologize. The problem I have with gearhead achievement is I placed 3rd on the final race of amateur cup and got 1st place for next 2 races on pro cup and receive no performance points for it. I don't know what I did wrong but it did not give me any performance points except unlocked some tracks, numbers, vinyls and paints. Why I didn't receive any performance points? Is it because I wrecked into a crash camera that prevented me to get performance points? I can't figure it out.
Van Hooligan X
Well there's 32 races 6 amateur, 16 pro and 10 for the final championship you need 40 performance points so for a handful of races you need two :S
Motorexskygtr32
Well there's 32 races 6 amateur, 16 pro and 10 for the final championship you need 40 performance points so for a handful of races you need two :S That doesn't answer my question and if you know the answer then why you made a topic about gearhead? You and I are in the same place of asking a same question regarding of gearhead achievement. FYI, I already know how many races of each 3 cups, Van Hooligan. http://tiles.xbox.com/tiles/ga/3z/1YCLiGJhbC9HFQUXXFJRbjBGL2FjaC8wLzMAAAAA5+fn+tytmg==.jpg Gear Head Max out all Performance Points on a car. 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png Performance points are earned by coming in 1st, 2nd or 3rd place in a career race. Okay, here the thing I have a problem. You said that you would get 2 points earn for each race in Pro cup which I only got 1 performance point, sometime nothing. Can you clear this up on how performance point work? I have tried to take out a few opponents as much as I can, drafting, rubbing the wall, spin out the car, take a lead, everything I could think of and place a first place in the race and yet, I get One or Zero point earn from that race. This starting to bugging me because I have invested 15 Performance Points so far in 8th race of Pro Cup so far and I feel like it is not enough to get Gearhead achievement by the end of career. Corrosivescott
another fast way to get the pit stops is to hit the back button about 4-5 times. that will start you near the start of pit road, cuts a lot of time off driving in reverse. Hope this helps
Cringer85
Gear Head Max out all Performance Points on a car. 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/site/gp-g.png Performance points are earned by coming in 1st, 2nd or 3rd place in a career race. I made all the way first places through amateur cup and halfway through pro cup and only got 7 upgrade points so far. They seem to either drop randomly, or there must be any other special requirement to earn upgrade points. You need about 50 or so alltogether, earning them in one amateur cup is not possible. EDIT: Start getting those performance points since mid of the pro cup. first got 1 point now starting getting 2 points for first place. Increasing like this, should be maxxed out pretty quickly. This game is easy and rocks! Edited March 7, 2011 by Cringer85
