The original Rocket Knight Adventure is one of my favorite Genesis titles of all time next to Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Gunstar Heroes, and Streets of Rage 2 lol. So needless to say, I am VERY hyped about this one!

EDIT: Oh and just to brag a lil, I still own the original cartridge, case n all lol.

Looks fun. Would be cool if they also bring the Genesis game to XBLA to.

Very saddened to see it's not the original
Hi! I'm nine years old and if you ever have an opinion that differs from mine, I'm going to become immediately hostile... because I'm super mature and that's how people ought to react to those who think differently from me!

Idiots make me angry.

I'm downloading it right now. I missed out on the original as I never owned Sega, but I'll get anything good Konami puts out. I hope an achievement guide is up soon.

I thought this was going to be the original just remade in HD.

FFS this has really bugged me now, the original is so kick ass why would they feel the need to remake ALL of the levels?

I wouldn't mind too much but this game is rubbish, the controls aren't tight. the enemies are stupid, arcade mode is stupid the whole thing is really disappointing and at 1200 msp it's bullshit.

Give me the original for 800 and I would be happy, fuck you Konami.

Anyone else think all developers redoing the oldies have mainly got it wrong except for Capcom?

Just re-skin them, that's all we want. I don't want a half assed shiny game that is 10% of it's older and better brother.

Sonic 4 looks stupid too, his hair looks like dreadlocks and its episodic, fuck you SEGA.

Sorry rant over just these titles frustrate me as the developer clearly hasn't listened.

I'm with most of you. The original Rocket Knight was one of my favs on the Genesis and I was really excited when I saw it coming out on Arcade. This revamped version is still fun, but I would have preferred the original.

Konami is the publisher, they provided the rights and the funding. But not necessarily the developement. Climax Studios handled that.

There's a reason the game is the way it is. Sparkster is supposed to be a cute fluffy warrior, he appeals to young people. Konami draws the old Genesis players with the name "Rocket Knight" and Climax Studios draws in a young audience by providing them with a cartoony character that is friendly to children and their parents.

In addition.

Rocket Knight was pretty damn brutal in difficulty. The way things are now it's easier for people to play and enjoy rather than frustrate and quit.

Is it worth $15? I think so, the graphics are solid and the game has enough replay value. I've played worse games for $60.

Miles Prower is the best, and he doesn't have to take crap from you.

I played the demo and wasn't too impressed, again coming from the megadrive days where sparkster ruled. There doesn't seem to be that many levels either, if you look at the free play menu you can see them all and even make out the final boss. The graphics aren't enough to really convince me it's the same ol sparkster either (WTF happened to axel?)

Long live the pixely classics I say.

I also would have much preferred the original over this version. I'm not a huge fan of these "3D" graphics especially. I wish they had at least used High Res Sprites or gone for a more cartoony look!

Retro is the way to go.
They've ruined too many games by changing graphics, sfx, and even controls. The original was a classic so in theory it should with stand the test of time and still be popular right now, which it would've been. LET ME SLASH SOME PIGGSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
