Cool Best fps

honestly, when it comes to an over all rating on games (achievements, campaign, multiplayer, playability, DLC) what is your favorite?

None of the above? That's a pretty biased list of games you have there. Personally, I like Borderlands more than any of those. If I had to choose from that short list, I'd say Halo: Reach.

Unreal Tournament always appealed to me more than that list of games.

Bioshock. A once in a lifetime experience for me (especially on Hard Mode with Vita Chambers turned off, getting all achievements in one playthrough). And the twist two-thirds of the way in is still the most shocking I've run into so far in gaming.

Also Duke Nukem 3D, Doom, the original Red Faction, and Time Splitters.

As far as this list goes, all the games in this poll are crap to me with the exception of both Left 4 Dead games.

I claim this list to be fail sauce

Either way they're a shit ton of other FPS games out there and the one I like is Borderland

Halo 3 became mediocre an the rest well they just try to be what people want them to be

Does Fallout count too? Those I like the most, but FPS is my genre, so I'm happy when I'm playing Borderlands, COD MW1&2, Halo 3 & Reach, Left 4 Dead 1&2, Bioshock, BF:BC 1&2, etc...

I like to think of it as a FPS with RPG elements.

And yet it's an RPG with FPS elements

isn't it also plausible to throw in 3rdPS into the mix

Not a great list in the poll considering there are many other FPSes out their. Ok you can't list them all but you should have placed an "other" option in there.

As it's multi choice my votes go to Borderlands and Bioshock.

Bioshock, Clive Barkers Undying, Condemned and the Thief Series are my favorites for the Campaign

L4D is the best Coop Experience

BFBC2 for the Competitive MP

And Halo Reach is the best overall package. Probably not the best in each category but doing very well with Campaign, Coop and Competitive with tons of modes and awesome support from the devs.

Voted for BFBC2, L4D and Reach

but borderlands is a FPS RPG, not real good MP play if you ask me.....so 4 ppl can get in to an area setting and try to kill each other, but with so many mods in the game its impossible to kill anyone. i have BL and all the DLC to it, love the game.... great game in fact, but then i would have to add Fallout, oblivion, morrowind, etc....thats a whole different class....

im mainly talkin bout military FPS.

I am positive I'll be the only one here - but Section 8: Prejudice.

But if we're talking "mainstream", I'd say most likely Bad Company 2.

i could have thrown in homefront too but its not that great of a game, short story line, alright Multiplayer, laggy and horrible servers. not to mention the first two weeks of release.

Bioshock is definitely not an RPG. It has a few RPG elements like Plasmids and Tonics, but that's basically where the comparisons end. You could make a case that it could go in the survival horror genre but then you also have both Left 4 Deads on your list. Left 4 Dead isn't exactly a military shooter (unless you count Bill LOL!) If Left 4 Dead is on this list then Bioshock should definitely be on there as well. Not to mention games like Condemned, FEAR, and Doom (especially Doom 3).

I still rate the original Half-Life (plus both expansion) and Quake 2 as two of the best FPSs I'ver ever played. Far more inventive and fun than some of the more recent offerings from big name publishers.
