10 Minutes of Bioshock goodness! (Must-see)

New footage is up on the Xbox Live marketplace. I've never seen anything like it. Truly amazing.

wow... i cant believe this forum is so dead, i would think this video would have spread like wildfire...

there is so much, and too much to break down in this video as far as the amazing things they are doing with it...

seems to me not only does the main character have a much larger speaking role (one paragraph would have been more than jacks contribution, hahaha) but it seems like he has real time reactions to things you do in game (eg. gaining too much momentum, makes him scream, running while in direction of an enemy, you make a war cry, these are a bit of my own speculation, and its hard to confirm that this is what is truly going on because with exception of the momentum and screaming, none of the other actions and vocalizations occur more than once, and not some parlor trick, but i think the devs are smarter than that)

but yeah, i really cant explain in words how i feel about this game right now, as im sure others with equal appreciation for video game as me feel the same way...

i hate to scream revolution when this game isnt even close to being done, and its only 10 minutes of gameplay, but a picture is worth 1000 words, and i know that baby was running at at least 60 FPS, so thats alot of words (36,000,000 words roughly)

The more we see of it, the more I'm starting to question my love for Rapture over Columbia...I mean, it just looks so epic!

I gotta tell you, when I saw him pan up to look at that huge liberty statue with the banner flapping in the wind, I instantly remembered the first time you entered Rapture and saw Ryan's statue.

If anyone could make a true sequel (in the basic sense that this game is just a follow-up game to Bioshock), it was bound to be Irrational and Ken Levine. The scripting, combat, real-time events, the hand-rail bits...all of it was amazing. Though, I think the one thing that stood out the most was that each of the floating cities was actually, well, floating! Man, it's going to be one hell of a game.

don't take this as me trying to correct you, but i don't see this as a game, i see this as something to experience, and that i think is what makes it greatly revolutionary, no the game isn't out yet, but alot can be taken from this video... i really hope HUD stays gone, or there is an option to take it away

Jeez this game looks incredible, so long to wait for it though! Oh and even more badass is that you get to play a former Pinkerton agent....and I think your name is Booker DeWitt, which is just a damned awesome name.

Okay, point taken. I guess in some way or another I can exactly get what you mean. At one point, the first Bioshock turned into something more than a game for me as well. I suppose I just throw that word "game" in there because "experience" wasn't in my mind. That and when you work somewhere where most people you talk with haven't even touched Bioshock...well, I hope you see why my lingo becomes something far more generic.

i agree... its alot darker, and it seems to have a much greater purpose than just annoying bees (not saying they annoyed me, but that seems to be their really only purpose in the original, of coarse i didn't use them very often, so im sure they were able to take down enemys)... it seems to be well used in large groups of enemys to act as kindof a distraction... of coarse that is only taken from the video...

this is just a pondering of mine, but given that the original code name for this was something about Icarus, i wonder if maybe the flying "big daddy" (for a lack of anything else to call it) is maybe somehow one of the founders children turned into some kind of monstrous protector of the city...

and im not sure ive read it on this forum, but i have read many times people claiming this game doesn't capture the horror aspect that the original bioshock did, and i cant see how it doesn't... it has a very castle Frankenstein feel to it, and just an overall dark overtone
