What WOULD be ranks without the awesome camo to actually look forward to? If the achievement was the only thing to work for there wouldn't be much point, and I'd quit immediately.

So what is the easiest way to get the elite rank? what match settings? 5 minute games? or 20 minute games?

Easiest way to get to elite is to do co-op terrorist hunt on LVU campus with enemy density set to high on realistic setting. Go through it with 3 other good players and you should rank up easily. Once you's find a way to go through it that works, stick to it.

I'm going to create a seperate thread using BiPoL4r BuNNy's as a guide to work out how many games of terroist hunt you will need to play in order to get to reach each level.

It is indeed. Yep you need to complete 685 T-Hunt missions (assuming you've just ranked up) or 174 hours doing the rubberband boost if you're on the attacking team and 87 hours if you're on the defending team.

My friend is currently hosting a dedicated server for doing the rubberband boost. If you know how to set-up the rubberband boost you're more than welcome to join in

It requires three people, two "player" and a dedicated server. The dedicated server is needed to automatically start the matches of 20 minute attack and defend. The two players just sit in the room and use rubberbands to keep their characters moving to avoid getting kicked for inactivity. This is a low way of ranking up IMO, and compared to actually playing t-hunts, it is much slower. This site LINK has a breakdown of number of t-hunts and a & d hours.

If you want to join in my friend is hosting one now. All you need is a rubberband and a play and charge kit or a wired controller. Then you can just leave your computer to run while you go read a book or watch a film. You'll get 800exp every 20mins or if a spot opens on the defending team you'll get 1600 every 20 mins. And yes T-Hunt is far faster to rank up but this is just away of gaining exp without having to do anything. At the minute i'm doing my assignments for colllege while getting exp lol . If you're interested send me a message.

EDIT : That's the server down now (incase anyone was trying to find it), think his 360 froze up. I'll try and get the server set up the same time tomorrow night - around 1am GMT (no guarantees as of yet though but i'll get back to you's on it)

I still think that this is the most tedious game to rank up in. I'm glad that they fixed it in R6V2.

At the risk of reviving a dead thread, I don't see where the 685 comes from. It's 675,000XP to Elite, and 600 XP per T-hunt so:

675,000 / 600 = 1,125 t-hunts to Elite

Edit: nevermind, I didn't see that he was saying it's 685 more after hitting Captain. :s

And T-hunts are the fastest assuming you get people who are decent. I've been in groups where we consistently do a high density realistic run on LVU Campus in 2:30 or less. OTOH, I've been in matches where I go an hour of playing and never successfully complete a single t-hunt because the people I'm playing with are terrible or are complete f'n idiots.

This is a tactical shooter, not a run and gun game but so many people play this like it's Halo and get killed in the first 30 seconds of a game.

Or people who decide to be lone wolves and go their own way screwing things up for everyone else (for example, if a guy charges to the glitch room on LVU, it screws the spawns up and matches end up taking longer to complete).

Or people who are just extremely rude (I've lost count of how many times I've been kicked from a match for stupid reasons -- it's gotten to the point where I always host myself).

Made it to Lt. Colonel before a got completely sick of this game (especially terrorist hunt on LVU). Might be time to see if I can get back into it and become an elite.

I would highly recommend the above comment but would insist of arranging doing it with other folk that are willing to invest the time & effort gaining the rank elite achievement. Host a private match with friends or folk on the forum as if you host a public match whether players die or are still alive -600 points deduct if others join in which can get annoying at times.

Also when I was climbing to the Rank Elite status I recorded the exact number of matches to gain:

Best of the Best40

79 match(s) to reach CAPTION

86 match(s) to reach MAJOR

108 match(s) to reach LIEUTENANT COLONEL

143 match(s) to reach LT. COLONEL

192 match(s) to reach COLONEL

234 match(s) to reach ELITE

I didn't record the first few ranks as they are quit easy as later on the other ranks which i have are ones to invest time on. Hope it helps. Few friends of mine thought the info i gave them seem to help.
