I disliked Dead Rising, but hear this game is easy...

I absolutely hated Dead Rising's timed concept... if I do one mistake... I have to do the entire game over again. This is really lame beyond anything, because I love to explore... kill zombies... fuck around... and I can't do that since the whole game is timed. So it's either fail the game or complete the game.

So I heard that this game is easy... and less frustrating... so I wonder if I should go ahead and get this game since I can't think of any arcade game for 400 msp.

It's still timed, but it's only a few hours long. The achievements are very straightforward and it is definitely worth the 400 Microsoft Points.

The game is still timed, but there's a few key differences:

1) A lot less tasks to handle. Unlike the full games where they give you 2-6 cases at any given time and you have to prioritize, this game has only a few things to take care of. This gives you more time for each individual task and more leeway with what you want to do.

2) The game is also shorter, which makes restarting less painful. I understand that if you messed up in Dead Rising it sucked to start over, especially if you were a few days in since the game is roughly 6 hours length. This game takes a little over an hour for a playthrough, so you don't lose much progress if you need to replay.

3) Multiple save slots. Now instead of relying on a single save, you can save your progress at different points so you can go back if you realize you messed up earlier than your last save.

So all in all, it's really easy compared to the full games. It's quite fun too, and who knows maybe this game will help you better understand/appreciate the mechanics enough to give the retail titles another shot.

For other 400 point Arcade titles, many of the 2D Sonic games are 400 MSP if those suit your fancy.

tl;dr - Call it the Xbox One or X1.

It's worth it.

Also, after reading what you hated about Dead Rising, I can't help but feel that you'll absolutely love Off the Record. If with "Dead Rising" you are referring to the first one, then the next ones are SO much better.

I prefer this game much more to the others. I don't like DR2 compared to the original the boss battles in the first were tough, but the ones in the second are much tougher, almost on the Mega Man level of frustration... and restarting just to level up to beat a boss and give up 8 hours of game play is damn infuriating!!!

The final boss in this game requires two playthroughs for the average player to beat him (you maintain your levels when starting over), but you're only losing about an hour of play time, and because of this, the game is much more enjoyable. You can goof off quite a bit, and experiment with creative zombie killing and explore and still complete the main story line.

This game is easier than Dead Rising 2 but still suffers from missions you have to get to right away or they time out. If there's a mission for the game I want to play it and I want to have time to roam every nook and cranny in the game.
