Smile Static eletricty proablem,please help.

i have carpets with a chair protector thats made of plastic. so heres the proablem. i get static eletricty from my carpet. i dont want to wreck my eletric guitar. so besides touching something metal is there anything else i can do to ground it? i dont want to wreck my PRS SE. thanks in advace i want it to ground out so the electric shock doesnt fry my guitar from touching the metal parts.

Touch glass. When I get out of my car I touch the glass and I don't get shocked but if I touch the metal door it shocks me.

thanks i just didnt want my eletric guitar to get wrecked by static electricity. a friend told me,when he works on his computer, he uses rubber bands. i want it to ground out so i dont shock the metal parts to my guitar. thus frying the electric components to guitar

It would take a lot more than static electricity from your carpet to damage your guitar. There are no integrated circuits in a guitar. It's just some magnets, coils and a few capacitors.

Seriously don't worry about it.
