Unknown path between Acre & Arsuf

Sorry for starting up a new thread here but looking through most threads i haven't noticed anyone mention about the unused path not far from Acre, just to West of the entrance to Arsuf (used near the end of the game). When reaching this path it says 'memory sector unavailable' at all times. I even went back there after completing the game to see if it had opened but still could not get through.

I know this has nothing to do with any of the achievements but it's really bugging me, lol. Was it put into the game ready for any DLC that may be made afterwards or was it just put there to baffle saddos like me that wonders about pointless things?

I've wondered that too, maybe they just forget to unlock for the end or something? It's really weird and now I keep thinking about it, lol

I've noticed that before but never went down there. Perhaps there was a DLC in store at one point but cancelled, but that seems kind of strange because the first Assassin's Creed was a successful game sales wise I believe. I can't think of what else it would be though, unless they cut some material from the game at the last minute.

I was wondering about this as well, and went all over trying to find the answer. I haven't gone back to play through again yet and see if this is it, but if someone feels like checking it out, here's a possible solution/explanation:

I think its meant to denote the path the crusader army took to arsuf as when your there u see them marching parallel to your route above them around abouts where that leads
