Does it get good?

I bought this game because it had a good trailer and it looked like a good racing game. I haven't spent tons of time on it yet but so far I've been sorely disappointed. I'm wondering if the game eventually gets better. Some aspects are pretty good (location, reasonable graphics, great cars, etc) but the game just doesn't satisfy me as far as story and enjoyablilty. Should I stick it out? Will I enjoy it more later on? Those of you have have played it through, how would you rate it?

the dlc is alright.
i havent had too many connection issues.
more when trying to connect to friends for car chases.

as far as story wise. there are only the little videos before championships and cups.

other than that its mostly free driving.

It promised so much but ended up been a huge disappointment, due to been so full of glitches and issues it was unplayable at times. In-house fighting with the developers and publishers meant hardly any of the problems were ever sorted and the actual essential gamefixes took well over a year to finally get released. The DLC's were given a fanfare to herald their arrival and the rumours sounded great but it never happened. When the on-line element worked it was brilliant but dodgy servers meant those days were few and far between. It's a crying shame really because right at the beginning this looked as if it was going to be a driving game that set the bar high.

Thanks for the heads-up. I hate to let the money I paid for it to go to waste. Maybe I'll play it a little to get my money's worth but I'll have to struggle through it's blandness.

Personally, I like the game but, if you want racing and a storyline, rent Midnight Club LA. I had the game on release and it's a keeper for me.

I'm glad you said so. I've been thinking about getting it for quite a while now. I watched some good videos on Youtube and read some good reviews about the game, looks like a good one. I'll definitely be giving it a shot.
