-Online: 0
-Approximate amount of time to 1000: 15-25 hours
-Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 3
-Number of missable achievements: 0
-Do cheat codes disable achievements?: No
-Does difficulty affect achievements?: Yes
-Glitchy achievements: None
-Unobtainable achievements: None
-Extra equipment needed?: None

Introduction

One of the more bizarre games of the year, Asura’s wrath doesn’t cease to entertain, with a vibrant anime styled world, amazing battles and action, and a story that you can’t help to love. While more of the game is told through interactive cut scenes, the actual fights and bosses of the game is the reason gamers will come back for more! This guide aims to help gamers get the full 1000 as quickly as possible, so I hope you find this useful.

Step 1: Normal difficulty playthrough
For your first playthrough, it’s recommended to start on Normal rather than easy (There are no difficulty achievements for easy difficulty, starting on normal would save an extra playthrough). For this one try to aim for an “A” or “S” result in all the episodes, getting at least 10 “S” ranks (this will get two gauges that you will need for the next playthroughs). The other achievements to look out for on normal are the “Shut up…” achievements. Play the game through on Normal and beat the "Secret Episode" once you finish the game and your first playthrough is complete. You can use unlockable or pre-order bonus gauges as they will not disable any achievements.

Step 2: Blind master Gauge Playthrough

For this step you will be doing another playthrough with the “Blind master” gauge equipped. This gauge disables all other gauges in the game, so you’ll need to tread with caution to survive. To make this easier, I’d recommend doing this on easy mode. Also take this opportunity to finish collecting combat achievements that you didn’t finish from the normal playthrough (burst, counters, unlimited mode kills, excellent prompts etc...)

Step 3: Mortal gauge Playthrough

For this step you will be doing another playthrough with the “Mortal” gauge equipped. This will reduce your life gauge, so again I’d recommend going through on easy for this one.

Step 4: Hard Playthrough

The final playthrough will be dedicated to going through on the hard difficulty. This can be testing, and by now you should have all the gauges unlocked, so equip one of your choice (I would take the defender or the obliterator gauge) to make this easier. If you would rather cut down on a playthrough, then you can equip either the “mortal” or “blind” gauge to save time, but this can make things much more difficult

Step 5: Unfinished business

Now all that’s left to do is to get any “S” ranks you missed on normal and hard, and anything else you missed.

Conclusion

I hope you guys find the game very fun and this guide useful on your road to 1000G, so release the wrath!

WARNING!

For story related achievements, do not skip the cutscenes that they correspond to, otherwise the achievement will not unlock.

A Cry of Anger-15
Activate Burst a certain number of times.

The number of times required for this achievement is 50 times.

For more on bursts see "A Roar of Fury"

A Roar of Fury-20
Activate Burst a certain number of times.

The number of times required is 100 times.

To perform a burst, you have to fill the gauge underneath your health gauge by attacking enemies (normally rapid fire attacks that are performed with the button do not fill the gauge but they do in shooting sections). Once full, press to activate burst. Burst progresses the levels, you should reach 100 around your second playthrough

Hit'Em Hard-15
Defeat a certain number of enemies with a special attack.

The number of kills required is 100

See more on special attacks on "Hit'Em Harder"

Hit'Em Harder-20
Defeat a certain number of enemies with a special attack.

The numbers of kills required is 300

Special attacks are executed with when enemies are downed but not defeated, a prompt will appear over the enemies head. Special attacks cannot be used if you're overheating, and once used asura will overheat (except in unlimited mode). An easy way to knock down enemies is to hold down to knock them into the air

Can't Touch This-15
Perform a certain number of counterattacks.

The number of counters required is 50

See more on counterattacks on "Can't Touch That"

Can't Touch That-20
Perform a certain number of counterattacks.

Number of counterattacks required are 100

Counterattacks can be activated when the enemy flashes white during an attack. Then you will be prompted to press either or , press the right one and asura will counterattack.

They Don't Stand a Chance-15
Defeat a certain number of enemies while in Unlimited Mode.

The number of kills required is 50.

See more on unlimited mode on "Unstoppable force"

Unstoppable Force-20
Defeat a certain number of enemies while in Unlimited Mode.

Number of kills required is 100

Unlimited mode is activated by filling the small, symbol-like gauge underneath the burst gauge. Once it is filled, press. In this mode attacks do more damage, self-damage is greatly reduced and you won't overheat from heavy or special attacks. Wait until you are in a enemy filled area to activate, as you cannot remain in this form for long.

Taking Out the Trash-15
Defeat a certain number of enemies with heavy attacks, lock-on fire,or both.

The number of kills are 300

Heavy attacks hit all those in a close meter radius, but overheats asura for a while, whilst lock on fire attacks are used by moving the crosshairs over targets to lock on in shooting sections, then fires lock on attacks at the selected targets. They are both activated with . To make this easier, use only lock on fire in the shooting sections, and heavy attacks when enemies are many in the normal sections (unlimited mode makes heavy attacks easier by removing the cooldown procedure). Do it like this and you should have unlocked it by chapter 10.

Quick on the Draw-15
Achieve a certain number of EXCELLENT synchronic impact rankings.

The number of rankings required are 70

For more on EXCELLENT's look at "Lightning Reflexes"

Lightning Reflexes-20
Achieve a certain number of EXCELLENT synchronic impact rankings.

The number of rankings required are 150

During quick time events, you have to press a button with a circle quickly shrinking to the same size as the button prompt. Wait for it to become near the exact size as the prompt then press it to achieve an EXCELLENT. You should reach this number around your 2nd-3rd playthrough

Be the Fist-20
Achieve a certain percentage for your overall synchronic rate average.

You need to achieve at least 80 % on your synchronic rate average. This isnt that hard, just always be ready during cutscenes and aim for EXCELLENT's. If you end lower, just replay episodes where you had a low synchronic rate and it will eventually pop up.

Pain Is Universal-15
Prove that you can take a beating.

You need to receive a total of 10000 in damage for this one

This is one you should get quite early on, I achieved this around episode 9, but with all the playthroughs including the one on hard, it's unlikely you will miss this one.

Too Legit to Quit-15
If at first you don't succeed...

Very easy to unlock this one. To get it, you have to die, and when you come to the continue screen simply restart last checkpoint, and this will unlock.

Look Ma, No Eyes!-30
Complete all episodes with a certain gauge equipped.

The gauge required is the "Blind Master" gauge, which is gained by getting an "A" on all episodes on any difficulty

This disables ALL gauges being visible throughout the game (Infinity, health, burst and the overheat gauge), meaning you won't know how close or far you are from filling the burst gauge. Plan your moves, and attack patiently. To make this easier, do this on easy difficulty. Unlimited mode is automatically activated with this gauge equipped

Who Needs Health?-90
Complete all episodes with a certain gauge equipped.

The gauge required is the "Mortal" gauge, which is gained by getting 10 "S" ranks on any difficulty.

This gauge reduces your health massively, and some bosses can kill you in 3 hits (even on easy mode!). You need to learn enemy attack patterns, and be patient with each move with this gauge. Again, do this on easy to reduce difficulty and unlimited mode is automatically trigged.

Ka-ching!-30
Accumulate a certain number of battle points.

You need 120000 battle points.

You will eventually get this in time; I got this on the final episodes, and if you don't you should unlock it at the beginning of your 2nd playthrough.

For more on battle points see "Deity"

View of the Valley-15
Give in to your male instincts.

During the hot-spring scene in episode 10, when you have the choice to perform different options, focus the camera on the attendant's..ahem, chest with the . Once she covers up her assets, your achievement will unlock.

Like a Fish-15
Knock back a few bottles.

During the hot-spring scene in episode 10, you need to chug 3 times with the . On the 3rd time your achievement will unlock.

Sometimes I Feel Like...-15
Find all the peeping toms at the hot spring.

During the hot-spring scene in episode 10, there will be enemies looking on. You need to look left, then right, and then look up 3 times. You need to wait until the enemies stop moving once you see them.

Heres a video for those who need further help with the hot spring achievements:

Shut Up, Wyzen!-15
Interrupt the fat one's monologue.

During episode 4, Wyzen will start speaking near the end, and you will be prompted to press to "shut him up". Just press it and your achievement will be unlocked.

Shut Up, Kalrow!-15
Interrupt the old one's monologue.

In episode 9, you will be prompted the same way as you were for Wyzen near the end. Kalrow's speech is very short, so press quickly to unlock your achievement.

Shut Up, Augus!-15
Interrupt your former master's monologue.

In the beginning of episode 11, you will be prompted the same way as the other two achievements. Press and it will unlock.

Secret Achievements

Enlightenment-0
Unlock all ASURA'S WRATH achievements.

Once you have unlocked the last of the achievements (excluding this one) You will unlock this with it, completing your path of wrath.

Suffering-10
Complete Part I: Suffering.

Story related, cannot be missed

Once you have completed episode 6 this will pop up when it says "Part I: suffering. End."

Rebirth-10
Complete Part II: Rebirth.

Story related, cannot be missed.

This will unlock when you complete episode 12, and when it comes up with "Part II: Rebirth. End"

Karma-10
Complete Part III: Karma.

Story related, cannot be missed.

This will unlock when you complete episode 18, and when it comes up with "Part III: Karma. End"

The Truth Hurts-10
Uncover the truth.

To get this you must beat True episode 18: Turn of events.

This is unlocked by getting at least 5 "S" ranks or completing 50 episodes (Since that means total episodes played and replayed needs to be 50, its wiser to go with the "S" ranks), it's really the same episode, just with an extended ending cutscene. Once you reach the result screen this will pop up.

Fighter-30
Complete all episodes on Normal or higher

Self-explanatory, you need to beat al 19 episodes (including the secret episode) to unlock all episode completion achievements.

.Warrior-90
Complete all episodes on Hard.

Same as "Fighter" but just on hard difficulty. To make hard easier, equip the obliterator gauge to breeze past this playthrough.
Demigod-30
Complete all episodes with at least an A rank on Normal.

See "Deity"

Shinkoku Soldier-30
Complete all episodes with an S rank on Normal.

See "Deity"

Guardian General-30
Complete all episodes with at least an A rank on Hard.

See "Deity"

Deity-90
Complete all episodes with an S rank on Hard.

For these achievements, you need an "S" rank on every episode (secret ep. included) on hard AND normal.

Ranking is based on 3 elements.
-Clear time
-Battle points
-Synchronic rate
You need 3 "S"'s or 2 "S"'s and one "A" in these elements to get an overall "S"

The obliterator gauge will aid you for this one. Since you won't face much of a great opposition clear time isn't a worry, however battle points are. Just don't die, Use alot of heavy attacks as there is no cooldown, and continue to fight even when the burst gauge is full to boost your rank, but not so long as to hinder your time rank.

Synchronic rate isn't too hard. Always be ready during cutscenes for those out-of-the-blue buttons, don't miss anything and aim for mostly EXCELLENT's. Do this and a "S" rank is yours.

Mortal-15
Achieve a D rank or higher on any episode.

You should get this on the first level, just follow the rules on "Deity" and you will easily get this.

Anger Management-15
Activate Burst for the first time in Episode 1.

Story related, cannot be missed.

Just shoot for a while at the beginning and wait for it to prompt you to use burst. Pull and you should have it.

The Six-Armed Man-15
Grow a few extra limbs in Episode 5.

Story related, cannot be missed.

Just watch the cutscene after the second burst, as soon as Asura grows the 6 arms the achievement will unlock.

Heads Will Roll-15
Completely lose it in Episode 12.

Story related, cannot be missed.

At the beginning of the second part of episode 12, watch the cutscene and when asura transforms into his wrath/berserker form, the achievement will unlock.

Rebel with a Cause-15
Do what you think is right in Episode 13.

Story related, cannot be missed.

When you take control of Yasha at the beginning of episode 13, this will unlock.

Denied-15
Get scolded by your former master in Episode 10.

Story related and cannot be missed.

In the hot-spring scene, perform enough actions to fill the burst gauge. Once you activate burst, watch the..amusing cutscene that follows. Once Asura has been punched, this will unlock.

It Takes Two-30
Defeat Deus with Yasha in Episode 17.

Story related, cannot be missed.

Once Deus is beaten and he falls to the floor, the achievement will unlock.

CG Collector-15
Get all the CG art.

See "Movie Buff"

Art Appreciator-15
Get all the illustrations.

See "Movie Buff"

Movie Buff-15
Get all the movies and interludes.

Once you have completed the secret episode, you should now have all illustrations, movies and artwork. To unlock the achievement, go into the extras section. Once at the extras menu, all 3 achievements should unlock.

There are a total of nine gauges. Here is how you get them all:

Is there a reason to making another guide when the games already simplistic? There's really nothing you can do to differentiate this from the other guide.

Either way i want to see how yours turns out.

Im not trying to differentiate anything, i just felt like making a guide for two games, this and MGS: HD collection. Besides the game can have some difficult achievements. Its not to compete really, its just for fun.

I'll probably get round to finishing it later when I have the time

3 Playthroughs would be the "minimum" required.

4 Playthroughs is the suggested method in his walkthrough.

just a quick question regarding skipping cutscenes: if i need to use the replay feature to get S ranks, as long as i've unlocked the chapter-/story-related achievements, it's alright to skip them, yes?

Yes you can skip all cutscenes that do not contain QTEs. The game will not allow you to miss any cutscene that will affect your Sync Percentage. So a playthrough on hard would only take about 2-3 hours if you are looking to S rank while skipping all unnecessary scenes.
