Oh dear ......

Few things in this game are ridiculous and it has exactly the same problems as Risen.

Firstly, the game tells you to save often and yet only offers 7 save slots. Trying to find your objective is impossible, you mark the map to follow your current mission and the only marker is for the person that gave you the mission! I'm already fed up with having no clue where to go or what to do next.

Few things are better, the graphics are improved and the voice acting is much better. So far the lands seem well populated and nice to explore.

So i would say if you didn't like the first one you won't like this, it's all too vague and although i'm sure it's on purpose, wandering around for hours without a clue as to what to do or where to go, wears thin very quickly.

Haha, yes exactly. There is a compass on the interface, as for which reason idk, its useless, instead they cud have added a minimap with a waypoint in the direction you needed to go but no that wud have made sense.

I just end up saving over my saves for now.

I hope someone finds a level up exploit like there was in Risen.

Yep i get using guides and i do but when you first get the game you don't want to spend more time looking at the laptop screen than playing the game.

It wouldn't be so bad if you could wander around without much hassle but if you happen across any decent enemies you'll be dead in 10 seconds and find yourself back where you started.

Exactly, where as i dont have a laptop and my PC is in another room so thats a tad bit hard to walk back and forth from rooms.

I remember in the friest game on the first island, there were groms/goblin enemies that were too hard at the begininng so u had to wait till u lvled up a few and had to go back.

Is it just me or is the font/text really small and hard to read too? Never had a problem with any other game. :-s

The font is rather small and with its pirate style it also makes it unreadable at some times.

Glad it's not just me then. I think I looked for a setting before, to see if I could change the font size, to no avail. Anyone found one?

LOL. I have a 42" and am happy with that. Wont be buying a bigger one for this room, let alone a new one for a LONG time :P Especially not for a rental game!

I'm having the same problem with reading the font. I've had a little mess around with the video settings but it's barely made any noticeable difference and if buying a new tv was an option I'd already of done it! As it stands the poor quality of the menus is becoming a serious game breaker. I can't read quest entries or see what inventory items do. Comparing green blob to green blob tells me nothing! I'm trying as hard as I can but between not been able to read what I'm supposed to be doing and not knowing where I'm supposed to be going to do it I think I'm going to have to give up on this one before completing it.

I upgraded from my 24 inch standard TV to a new 24 inch Toshiba LED HDTV, hooked up my HDMI cables and the text is super readable for me, no problems for me

I had the first Risen a while ago, but was playing on an old 19 inch tv and the text was so small I couldn't read it even when I was up against the screen. Now I have a 42 inch Toshiba hooked up to my Xbox with HDMI cable, I'm guessing I won't have too many problems. May be famous last words though, I've not tried playing it yet lol.
