Xbow= silenced shot???

Can anyone confirm if ANY or ALL forms of bolts/ammo on the xbow can be fired without giving away your position on the radar?

You show up on the radar no matter what bolt you shoot, at least from my experience.

Wrong, I was hiding in a bush (like a nub) and was surrounded by enemies, they didn't know I was around them and was picking them off left and right.

That isn't really confirming, the enemies could have just been extremely stupid...

A buddy an I were messing around in a pre-game match with XBows and you do not show up on the map. It is a little nerve wracking when you hear these bolts flying but have no idea where they came from!

I didn't show up as I was shooting mine. Friend was looking for me so I fired one at him, still didn't see me.

So true!!

I've had some xbow snipe battles with dudes close range and have never seen them on the minimap as we're firing at each other.

As much as I'm loving the bow, have some conniptions with it's collision detection, I've nailed guys point blank in the side of the head and they only get damaged. Not happening often enough to piss me off but it's... unfortunate. Lag, latency, gremlins. Could be any number of things.

Anybody else here ever fired a real crossbow and are wondering how in the world a crossbow that can be recocked with one hand has enough tension to fire an arrow that can pierce body armor?

Maybe I'm just thinking about it too much...

Anyways, I've noticed people not noticing me when I've used it near them. So I'm confident it doesn't give away your position as well.

It's a compound bow so yes it able to be recocked one-handed. The extra pulleys give less tension but deliver on stopping power.

The xbow is a nifty little weapon to bring along to scan an area before pulling out your primary/secondary weapon. I enjoy it.
