And I thought I was "unscarable"

I physically jump when I play this game (and immediately after I stop playing in the dark)...
I really don't like turning corners and opening doors now...

my rear surround speakers woke my cat up and she did one of those "wtf was that" faces and kept staring into the bedroom. At first I didn't get what had happened so I rushed to the bedroom thinking someone was at the window (there wasn't). I didn't put two and two together until I saw her sniffing the speaker whenever something rattled in ducts. I gotta say, this game has some of the best sound design I've experienced in any game.

I've never screamed, but the game did get my blood pumping at times and it did deliver several jump-scare moments, but that's it for me.

I'm playing this right now and holy shit am I tense while playing! There's been a few big jump moments so far, and I've.. not yelled.. but strongly said stuff like, 'OH SHIT!' or 'WHAT THE HELL?!'. If I scream like a girl I'll be sure to reply again.

even after playing twice I still jump a lot during my impossible run, not at the ones that come flying out but at the ones that happen to be behind you while you're fighting another one in front of you.

Completed it for the first time and got to the ending with Issac flying away and then all of a sudden Nicole jumps out at you it's a WTF moment. Worse when I had looked away to see huge spider sitting next to me... I didn't scream but I jumped like 10 ft in the air!

Chapters 5 and 10 were the scariest for me. The invulnerable ubermorph just makes me crap myself. It's perfectly alright jumping and being able to kill the necromorphs, but when it doesn't die that's the scary factor for me.

The part where you enter Zero-G gravity for the first time and when you turn a sharp corner and there's a Necromorph staring right at you.

I have never screamed but I can't lie I had a moment where I jumped up so hard I almost fell lol. It was just a part in the beginning where there were 3 bodies on the ground and I KNEW one of them was a necromorph and I still jumped when it came alive lol.

I never found this game scary at all tbh :/ Mainly because I done it on easy difficulty where it is almost impossible to die :P Gonna start my impossible run soon so iI'm guessing that is much scarier as anything could kill you. If you guys think this game is scary then try playing the original Condemned, Criminal Origins.
2AM with all the lights off and the blinds drawn, you wont last 10 minutes! :P

Okay I'll Be honest. I'm pretty desensitised but this game had it's scary moments for sure. It's the sounds for me more than anything. Awesome. Although, the last scene I did not expect and, well, I think I may have pooed a little bit lmao

I was always terrified of playing games like Dead Space. But after I got the game, I fell in love with games similar to it. The first few times I played, I had to have someone watch me play or else I wouldnt do it. My mom had to on one or two occasions and made fun of me for it. I was seventeen at the time as well :P. Five or six playthroughs later, I still love the game

it's been so long since I loved playing a horror game like that, I think the last time it happened was RE4, and I think Dead space is way better, the atmosphere in this game is just awesome

Chapters 1, 2, 3, 5 and 10 were the scariest. The other chapters weren't that scary but I was still on edge. You start to wise up to the games tricks though so it's pretty hard to be spooked after a few hours. It's a shame you pick up a gun so soon imo-I would have liked more time before you get separated, more time before the 1st necro appears and a bit more time where you were defenseless and had to run although that would get rather tedious on repeat playthroughs.

I don't think I've ever physically yelled while playing a game, but I do jump when getting startled. The mannequin scene in Condemned had me freaked out, and (oddly enough) while playing Skyrim a deer ran by me and it made me jump. haha (I shot it with my bow for doing that.)

I just finished my first playthrough and I only jumped once or twice :/ I was warned this game will make you jump, so I think because I was "prepared" for it, I didn't jump as much as I would have otherwise.

I have been thinking on getting this after playing the demo it seemed quite interesting. Judging from all the comments I think I will only play it at night, in the pure dark, sitting a foot from my tv. Kidding about the last part, but that's how I love playing horror games. I seen a few people mention Condemned 1&2 and out of any other horror games those were by far my favorite, they really had their scary moments, I wish they did a 3rd.

I can tell you the moment for me tho while playing the demo, one was when I was trying to figure out how to change my weapon and learn the controls, you know those (whatever they are called) are gonna come running at you and once they do you just tense up and your heart starts racing <(at least for me). Another part was when I finally finished the demo.. I'm sure everyone remember how that ended... certainly made me jump.

Edit: How could I possibly forget to mention how scary Alan Awake was. Some things seemed repetitive yet it was an amazing game that you should play at night.

I thought it was going to be way scarier than it was based on reviews I had watched. The end was the scariest part for me.
