trouble on the homefront trouble

Ok guys. Im having problems with trouble on the homefront. It wont show up. I've ran around for about 10 hours total the last few days and nothing. The only mission I have left is the final mission of the main game then the dlc. I've walked all around the area between megaton and the vault many many times. Have wandered all over the place.

Any idea how to get this mission to come up?

Did you pick up the Vault 101 Emergency frequency on your Pip-Boy? You can acquire it by walking around the surrounding area of Vault 101. However, if you've already picked up the signal but didn't listen to it, it's possible that it disappared due to inactivity.

Try checking the stations your Pipboy can tune to, you might find something interesting...

But xjarhead1999 is right, it will disappear after awhile. Hope you have a save from before you went a-wanderin'.

I checked the pip boy and walked around the area several times throughout the game. Same as I did on the ps3 version. I really never showed up. Looks like ill go ahead and finish everything and keep checking. I just hope I don't have to start a new game

Odd, I've actually completed the story, finished BS, and then went inside the external cave door to acquire the Distress signal after losing it.

Around the time I finished the waters of life mission I started keeping an eye out for the distress call. Randomly travel to the vault area and walk around. I have let my character stand there, I have walked around, I went to the door of the vault. Nothing.

Seeing that you went back after finishing broken steel makes me have a little hope that maybe it will come up later.

edit

Well I went and done the pitt dlc. As soon as I finished that and got back to the wasteland the radio signal appeared. Not sure why it happened so late in the game but I finally got trouble on the homefront.

Wait til' you advance in the main story quests until you get ''Waters of Life'' then immediatly fast travel to Vault 101. (Dont complete Waters of Life until you beat this side quest) Walk near the door you should get the signal. Listen to it then open the Vault door.

Edit-Glad you completed it man. Just noticed that in the post. Damn me and my hospitality trying to help those in need of Fallout 3 situations.
