Resident Evil 4. Many of the games listed are almost just as awesome for me, but RE4 was my first Resident Evil game... That's something hard to forget.

what, no RE6?! that one will be, judging by how its coming along. i mean, Chris and Leon? in the same game? SIGN ME UP!

jokes aside, RE4 probably has to be mine. the biggest problem i have with the older games is, in hindsight the controls are honestly not the best compared to the newer games. RE4's controls overhaul bringing it to a modern shooter really helped, RE5 made them even better IMO. having the camera behind the character rather than up above just makes things a lot simpler to get used to, in a game where you have to worry about rotating the character and using up to move forward. im still one of the few that liked RE5 though im sure, even though it feels far from RE, especially with it being mostly daylight the whole time, and having a partner always with you.

the only ones i have yet (of the main series at least) to beat are RE3 and Code Veronica. im working on CV right now and maybe sometime i will track down RE3 on PC or GC, or perhaps download it whenever i get a PS3. would be sweet if it was released on 360 too in the same fashion as CV and RE4.

Resident Evil 4 and 5 are my favourite games.

Resident Evil 4 just contains everything necessary. It has some kind of action, but not too much like in RE 5. YouŽll also have some scary moments and you lack easily of amma if youŽre not careful. Thar all together with an awesome story in RE style.

RE 5 isnŽt a real Resident Evil anymore in my opinion. But the coop setting is just kinda awesome. So it became one of my favorite coop games together with Obscure 1 & 2

Probably RE4, it's great. 2 and 3 aren't far behind, mainly because of nostalgia.

Hard to decide. It's a toss up between RE1 and RE4. RE1 may have had some crappy actors, but it's what got me hooked on the series. RE4 was just awesome minus Ashley screaming for Leon all the time.

How the hell is 4/5 got any votes? nothing in 4 was scary, completly ruined the franchise, 5 was a utter joke. re0-3 were great, code veronica was fun.

Those of you saying RE4 are quite obviously not true fans of the series. Yeah, it's a great game but it's not Resident Evil. Take out Leon and Ada and its a completely different game. So how dare most of you vote for it. My favourite game is REmake, great game, lots of tension and jumps and LisanTrevor is the best villain in the entire sereis

Agreed resident evil 4 was 'fun' but it clearly wasn't a proper resident evil game which is why I count resident evil 4/5/6 as filler.

The REmake is easily my favourite - top notch audio/visual design and ruddy terrifying at times.

I'd say my top 5 are as follows:

1. REmake
2. RE4
3. REvelations
4. RE2
5. RE3 (though sometimes I think I prefer Code Veronica, lol)

Probably Resident Evil:Nemesis for me because I remember when I got that game when it was out. It really freaked me out when Nemesis burst through the window and chased you in station. XD

Resident Evil 3 for me, as well. Nemesis, much like Pyramid Head in Silent Hill 2, provided me with so many genuine scares, panic attacks, etc... Survival horror at its best.

Resident evil 2 and 3 for me love those games.
I never goy to play the resi 1 remake because that was exclusive to gamecube for god knows what reason. Hope they put that game in hd for newer consoles.

Same with outbreak. That would be such a good game in hd with the online put in

Easily 4. It's the best when the transition from Survival Horror to Action Horror started, and they kept a lot of the things I enjoyed. Mostly the limited storage space, sized weapons and addons with the ability to upgrade said space, rather than just RE5s, "Everything is now the same size and takes 1 square, so the minigun is the same size as this egg."

I really want a well made HD port of the RE: remake, its the best Resident evil game ever. Tension, atmosphere, right amount of shooting, great game design. Crimson heads were nasty if you let them rise up

RE2 and 3 are all time classics. RE-zero is really good. CV is good although has bad bits like the boss fight in the fog and the bit where you have to smash the glass cannonball with those tank controls.

I liked RE4 despite the shift to more action, it still had tension & atmosphere but it also sent the series to slow, shitty death of more shooting, QTE shite. RE5 was poor it did more of everything that was naff about 4, also it forced you to have a dumb AI partner who will let her self get killed and waste ammo!.

RE6 - just shit. Dumber and bigger than 5

Revelations is mostly good, some levels felt like a survival horror games and then they throw in some "shoot everything" for the shooter game

RE 4 gave us Leon Kennedy again, briefcase storage minigame and over the shoulder shooting. All of these made a great game even better for me.

Honestly, 5. I LOVED 4 but with 5's expanded mercenaries mode and vs capability really makes it my favorite.

RE 4, then RE 2, then Code Veronica.
4 was such a huge leap forward for the series. Still had the scary/shocking bits, and awesome action to go along with it.
RE 2 was the first game I played that actually made me jump from fright (zombies bursting through a window to try and grab you in the police station!), the voice acting was beyond cheesy, but it was the scariest game I had played up to that point.

Like most people Resident Evil 4 is my favorite. Not just because how good it was, but because that was the first Resident Evil game I ever played. I also enjoyed Resident Evil 5 just as much. I've never played 6. I might try it out, but everyone I know says it was pretty bad.

If I was to pick which one I liked or played the most. It would be between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5. I beat those games the most and played them a lot. I did play the old ones and they were great. But they just didn't had a big lasting appeal to always make me keep coming back to play/beat them as RE 4 and 5 did.
