**Update**

Skyrim's title update 1.9 confirmed for console


Bethesda confirmed that title update 1.9 for “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” is currently set to release on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 on Monday, April 8. Just earlier this week, the developer revealed that the patch was undergoing the certification process for console release and now it appears that the update has passed the test as Bethesda today confirmed rumors that title update 1.9 is scheduled for release next week.

Incase you didn't notice (was on main page), some more fixes are inbound, along with Legendary difficulty etc. Should be arriving shortly for Xbox this month.

Until now, the highest level a character could reach was 81. But patch 1.9 adds a Legendary difficulty and the ability to make skills Legendary, and this changes everything.
"Skills of 100 can be made Legendary," the Bethesda blog announced. "This will reset the skill to 15, return its Perks and allow the skill to affect levelling again. This effectively removes the overall level cap."

  • Fixed a rare issue where player could become stuck in Night Mother's coffin during "Death Incarnate"

  • Fixed rare issue with NPCs and creatures respawning improperly after player fast travels

  • Fixed a rare crash when attempting to save your game during "Waking Nightmare"
  • Fixed issue where "Glory of the Undead" would not start properly if player is in combat with Eorlund Gray-Mane
  • The white phial is no longer consumed if given to a follower
  • If player marries Aela, the "Totem of Hircine" quest will be available
  • Unused briar hearts can be dropped after finishing "The White Phial"
  • Fixed issue with paying off a crime against the Companions that prevented player from getting Companions quests properly
  • Thieves Guild caches are now properly enabled in the appropriate cities
  • The Dragon Infusion perk now works properly when taking Esbern's Potion
  • Cragslane Cave properly resets if player receives a radiant quest to clear it out
  • Fixed rare issue with bounty quest objectives not properly clearing after completion
  • Gallus' Encoded Journal is no longer a quest item after completing the Thieves Guild
  • In "No Stone Unturned" Vex will now accept Unusual Gems if you've collected them all before starting the quest
  • Vekel the Man now gives rewards for completing "Toying with The Dead"
  • Fixed rare issue with being unable to turn in stolen items in "The Litany of Larceny"
  • Fixed issue with followers becoming over-encumbered after being repeatedly rehired
  • Fixed rare issue with visiting Kynesgrove on horseback not progressing "A Blade in the Dark" properly
  • Fixed issue with receiving a duplicate radiant quest from a Jarl
  • Fixed conflict with clearing Driftshade Sanctuary before starting "Trouble in Skyrim"
  • Fixed issue with using shouts while in jail and having guards unlock the jail cell
  • Fixed rare issue with quest NPCs not properly moving to quest locations
  • Fixed issue with NPCs not selling master level spells
  • Fixed rare issue where player gets control locked outside the Thalmor Embassy at the start of "Diplomatic Immunity"
  • Fixed rare issue with disappearing containers after upgrades in player owned house
  • Fixed issue with being erroneously attacked while as a werewolf during "Ill Met By Moonlight"
  • The Ebony Blade is now only improved by two handed perks
  • Locked door to Proudspire Manor can now be unlocked by proper key
  • Fixed issue with merchants not receiving the proper additional gold with the Investor perk
  • Fixed a rare issue where the player would be unable to learn a word after leaving for several days during "The Way of The Voice"
  • The Nord Hero Bow can now be improved
  • The Purity perk no longer requires the Experimenter perk
  • Fixed rare instance where Lovers Comfort would not be applied properly
  • If you approach Frostmere Crypt from the north, "The Pale Lady" will start properly
  • Fixed rare issue where player could be prevented from speaking with Atub to start "The Cursed Tribe"
  • Fixed rare issue where a dragon could appear in the Mind of a Madman realm and kill the player
  • Fixed instance where player could get stuck in Japhet's Folly
  • Fixed rare instances where Arngeir would not teach Worldwind Sprint
  • Fixed issue with "Ill Met By Moonlight" if Sinding dies before the quest starts
  • Gharol can now properly train up to level 75
  • Fixed conflict with visiting The Karthspire before starting "Alduin's Wall"

  • Recruited Blades now have appropriate dialogue while at Sky Haven Temple

So no word on the miraak glitch in 'at the summit of apocrypha' then. Damn shame. The one fix I was looking for.

Also does anyone know if the white phial fix solves the problem with getting a briar heart?

I was having the same problem with the White Phial. I was looking for fixes on the Blood and the Ice fix. There were a lot of glitches on that quest, but the one I experienced was when you need to get assistance from Jorleif, I couldn't enter dialogue with him, and when I did it was for how I was looking for work.

Maybe these will sort the Falkreath/Lakeview problems so many people are having assuming that a quest script is the issue with handing in the radiant quest to Skald which I'm pretty sure is the problem most are having.

We'll see I guess.

'Skyrim' title update 1.9 heading for console certification next week

Bethesda announced today that “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” 1.9 game update, which was released live for Steam users earlier this week, will be getting submitted for console certification sometime next week. This means that patch 1.9 for the popular open-world RPG is on track to for release on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 and that the developer believes the update is ready. The fate of the patch now rests in the hands of Microsoft and Sony as the first parties will check if the content will pass their certification process.

Title Update 1.9 adds a new Legendary difficulty mode to “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” as well as the ability to reset any skill which has been previous maxed out. This allows players to level the skill up again to gain additional perk points. For this reason, this is the game update that Bethesda has stated will “effectively remove the level cap” from the game.

Why did this need to be fixed? haha.

On a serious note I wish I could figure out why Oblivion Walker will not unlock for me. I have all of them. I think it is because I improved the Mace of Molag Bal once I got it, because it was the first enchanted weapon I got, and I have read some where that improving the artifacts can cause the achievement to not unlock

That's weird. I upgraded the Mace after I got it as well, but I still got the achievement. It wasn't the first artifact I got, but my primary use for it was trapping souls before I started leveling magic skills.

That is why I think there was some kind of glitch, maybe it is because I played offline for awhile because of the broken backwards flying dragon patch?

Might be obvious but have you tried taking them all out the chest at once, maybe make the game re-check your current total and give you the achievement?

If that doesnt work, try taking the items to a shop keeper (save before)... and sell the items to them. Buy them back. See if this tricks the system into thinking you received the items for the first time again.

Are you counting the skeleton key as 1 of your 15?

I didn't think you could get Savior's Hide and the Ring of Hircine in the same play-through, maybe that's what glitched your achievement.

You can indeed get both the Savior's Hide and Ring of Hircine. As a matter of fact you can also keep the 'Cursed Ring of Hircine' along with the other two, although the cursed ring doesn't qualify for the achievement.

Thanks for taking the thread off topic to offer some advice guys and gals. I have already accepted I am not going to get the achievement on this playthrough. Even with this one silly achievement standing in the way of a completion, I will know that I did everything.

You can but i dont think the savior's hide counts as a daedric artifact. Just the ring. Doesnt explain why having 15 didnt pop the achievement for him, but Id guess getting both glitched it.

Don't know the answer.....do your in game stats say that you have completed all the quests? I figure the achievement unlocks when you get the items, but maybe the quests have to be complete as well. Otherwise, don't know what is going on.

I can't wait for this patch to come out, I haven't played Skyrim since December, I was waiting for an update to start a new character, I was hoping for a new DLC but this legendary update will do for sure
