Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition getting disc based release.

Well, they're finally putting it on a disc for everyone who hasn't downloaded it. I wish there was something extra in it, giving me a reason to buy it. Hell I might buy it just to have a psychical copy.

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition will hit retail shelves on April 30. The price of the game will be the same as if you bought it via the Xbox Live Arcade, a cool $20.

The retail edition of the game will be up to speed with the XBLA port of the game, and will ship with the ninth title update that is just about ready to launch. Of course, the game will get "all the same content and feature updates as the digital version ongoing."

I hope it comes with a full 1000G since it's a full retail title now.

Don't expect it. The game is just getting put onto a disc, nothing extra is being added.

Even though I already own the digital version of Minecraft I may pick this up simply b/c I like having the physical version of my games and I can take them to friends'/families' houses.

It won't since its the same game plus its only $20, so it won't have 1,000 like a $50 to $60 game would.

Thats one good thing about the disk version. Can take to friends houses so they can try it, and get them into it. lol

Passed on digital. Passing on physical. I have had it on PC for as long as I can remember and I don't need to have it on another platform.

Taking advantage of monkeys who will give in and buy a physical copy.

Just goes to show how successful Minecraft has been. Will be badgering all my friends and bro who don't have it yet to go grab a copy of it. I would like a physical copy sat on the shelf like any of my games, but it would be a waste of money when I could spend that money on another game I don't have.

the bit ive bolded doesnt matter as budget titles come with the same 1000g usually

what will matter in this case is that they are just putting arcade titles on a disc just like if you bought things like the arcade collections they will have the 200g like normal

honestly with the disc copy i would rather have had this than the digital one if they had released at the same time, always prefer to have physical copies of games... but im not going to splash out for a 3rd copy of a game

if they would fix some of the more idiotic design decisions for the retail version like i would reconsider

It's a long shot but who knows, they might add a few new ones with the next update. (I really hope so )

I don't think they will. 4J is always telling us on twitter that they are not allowed to add new achievements in title updates.

Why would they put it on disc form when over 5 million people have bought it?

my cynical guess is that they saw people bought the game on here despite already owning it for pc and thought hey great lets release a disc version and see if they buy it a 3rd time

Only idiots would get another copy. Don't see the point, unless you've never played it before obviously.

meh, would rather have it digitally on my hard drive, for pure convenience. plus my kids play minecraft a hell of a lot, and it saves them messing about with ( and scratching the shit out of ) disc games that may be left in the drive.

well i bought a second for the xbox for a few reasons which were kinda made redundant after release and by mojang with the pc version recently (4j making local coop a hd only thing and mojang making lan a hell of a lot easier on pc) and tbf i would have bought the disc if it was out the same time but i wont but another one just for a disc of it especially since i hardly ever actually play on the xbox since its actually easier to play a local game on pc now

I'm getting it for my kids, so they can play it upstairs.

I guess I'm an idiot.

I agree I think that to be honest that to be honest I think that it is a waste of time if they actually put it on to disk because so many people have bought it already and I think that they would waste some of the money that they have made.

putting it on disc shouldnt cost them much really because they wont need to market it which is what actually costs the money, burning DVDs and printing boxes is just a drop in the ocean

Has this information actually been confirmed anywhere? I've checked several retailers & there is still no listing for the game, and there hasn't been an official announcement that I can find.

Also, the girl at my local game store didn't think it would be $20, because she said when they do disc based releases of arcade titles, they are usually more expensive to cover production costs.

I guess there isn't a release in Canada, which explains the absence of any information here. Dammit! I was looking forward to getting it on disc.
