Multiplayer achievements.

I initially like the challenge & can get most by myself, but as soon as I'm close to finishing them I realize WTF was i thinking & just come back here to cry & get help

This more then anything. Also MP in SP mostly games like GTA IV's MP felt tacked on,Assassins creed,ETC. AT the same time RDR did MP right.

I also hate when a sequel feels tacked on.

@ Walter. I wouldnt mind a reset of my GS but I would hope i can keep my 360 achivements still.

A Ninja Eagle. I agree. I'm one of the very, very, very few people that dont have 1000 in AC II. Mainly cause the collectibles, yet I have every single collectible achivement in Revelations and Brotherhood. Cause theres an in game map, something more DEVS should do. I will never attempt to 1000 AC 1,damn they make the feathers look like a cake walk. I will get those feathers and 1000 AC 2 someday I'll print out a guide to do it,a picture guide.

I'm the same with AC2, haven't been bothered with collectibles, same with the ingots in Fallout 3, only DLC achievement I don't have.

NPC allies. In some games, like Bioshock Infinite, they're great. In others, they're mindless idiots who get themselves killed and waste your time. I love having NPC's who don't have to be protected but who can protect themselves or assist you in some other way. Escort missions where you're forced to guard a clown who can't walk straight annoy the hell out of me.

Collectibles: Hordes of useless collectibles for an unfun scavenger hunt... no thanks. Bionic Commando, Assassin's Creed... Eff. Easy ones or ones that add to the game in some way for story or abilities/bonuses are great. Gears 2 had backstory, Brutal Legend gave you extra powers, and FEAR is giving backstory and health and reflex bonuses. Dear Devs: That's how it's done peoples!!!

Sex and nudity: I dislike the lack of it in many games.

Legitimate Difficulty: Agree with BEA 100% Bullet sponge enemies and minimized damage does not an enjoyable challenge make. Seems like enemy AI capabilities capped out at Half Life.

The enemies in AC3 pissed me off to no end, I tried to go Deus Ex or Dishonoured on it and avoided conflict as much as possible because it seemed like the higher ranked enemies simply countered every button combination possible, which was enraging. Went through a LOT of smoke bombs playing that game.

Level / Map Design: one thing I both miss and don't miss about old school shooters like Quake or Doom is getting lost. You could spend many frustrating hours in one level retracing your steps over and over to find a door or key etc to move onto the next area. Only to discover that you walked by it 100 or more times.

Most shooters nowadays are no more than crooked tunnels. Look at a map of Wolfenstein 3D or Doom from the 90's and the first thing that strikes me is.... sweet fucking hell how did we play these as kids and get through without online guides to save our balls? We had no guides. We drew our own maps on grid paper with a ruler and different colour pencils, icons and a legend even. Trial and error.

The level layouts look like architectural drawings for some secret underground government complex. Going back a bit in the 360 catalog and playing FEAR reminded me of that, there's a few places where you have to backtrack and navigate through offices in the dark and even on my second run now I'm still getting lost with nothing but my flashlight to guide my way.

Many many places have multiple entry points and ways to move about. Even in straight A to B areas in FEAR, lots of times the way out is hidden in nooks and corners that are easy to miss. For a game from 2006, it's both frustrating and refreshing to see so little bottle feeding and some considerable flexibility in campaign level design.

Don't even get me started on MP maps. You can fit every COD map from MW3 or Blops overlaid onto Op Firestorm from BF3 and still have plenty of space to drive your tanks around.

Then the flip side, if in the mood, all I want sometimes is a point A to B campaign shooter as a brain break in between some heavy handed RPG's. I don't want to think that hard and just have some silly fun. Then the tunnel design is cathartic in it's stupid simplicity.

I love playing games for the immersion, the story lines and fascinating universes. Finding the type of game that you start playing and then when you look up its suddenly several hours later.

Hate protection and timed missions in games. Recently tacked on multiplayer which seems to be coming to every series I love.

Collectables, needless ones like Feathers in AC2 are a pain in the ass to get, but i like ones such as the pages in Alan Wake that have a purpose in telling a story.

Open worlds. Great if the place is jam packed of things to do like in borderlands or kingdoms of amalur recoking. but annoying as hell when there is nothing to do expect drive around looking for magazines or wanted posters Ala Mafia 2.

Mostly when I play new RPG's, I both love and hate the fact there's so freakin' many to find and explore

100% agree this says it all. I love cutscenes but I dont give a damn about Halo's story,I just wanna shoot Grunts and elites. So I skip every Halo cutscene. Dont judge me. I hated how LA Noir's cutscenes arent skippable
I loved the cutscenes but when I start my ''Shamus to the Stars'' and find 95% of the clues in the game playthrough I will have to listen to everything...again. Not mad about it I havent played that game in months and months, its a great game too.
