Serpent Emblems Guide (text/picture)
Serpent Emblem Collectibles
There are a total of 80 emblems you must collect in this game (4 in each chapter, 5 chapters in each campaign, with 4 total campaigns). To collect them you must shoot them or melee them. Once collected they are instantly saved and you can even quit out if you wanted. There are some instances where only a certain character can get the emblem. You will have to replay that chapter as the other character in order to obtain it. These emblems give you an achievement when you collect them all, as well as give you "action figures" (also an achievement tied to obtaining 3 of those).
If you see and shoot an emblem, your partner will still see it and be able to shoot it as well. Both people have their own progress as far as emblems go.
It is completely possible to run out of ammo and not be able to get an emblem because of it. A good example is Chris Chapter 5 Emblem 4. After defeating a boss enemy, you may have used up all your ammo to defeat it (because it takes a lot of damage to destroy it). The next section has an emblem that you cannot reach except by shooting. If you have no ammo you cannot obtain it and have to play the entire chapter including the boss over again. As far as missable ones go, there are times when you can progress too far and can't go backwards to grab one you forgot. If there is a very far off emblem and you do not have a sniper or ammo, it may be harder to shoot/see the emblem. As long as you keep a little bit of ammo you should be okay. There is one collectible which you must run over with a snowmobile and you can potentially miss it as well.
In your records, it will show how many emblems you have collected. If you go to your "collectibles" section in the game, you will see there are vending machines to interact with. Check them for each campaign There are 4 blocks in a row that represent the emblems and 5 rows to represent the chapters. So if you have a blank block in the first row within the first column, you know that you missed Chapter 1 Emblem 1.

Serpent Emblem 1: As you play, you will get to a cut scene where a man is trying to find his daughter. After the scene, turn around to see an open door to a closet. Shoot the emblem on the shelf inside.
Serpent Emblem 2: Once outside, you will get to a door that is locked and must go find the campus key card. You will be attacked in a hallway by many enemies. After you clear that part, you will find yourself in what looks like a library. Before going through the door out of this room, look inside the desk.
Serpent Emblem 3: After you drop into the tunnel area, you will follow some tracks to a door. Then you will go down some stairs to another door. Upon opening it and dropping down to another set of tracks, look to your right. It is tucked under the subway train car.
Serpent Emblem 4: While going through the town you will encounter a bar. Continue on and you will kill a enemy called a Shrieker. After you get the gate that is locked open, you will enter another bar. Before leaving look left at a board with a bunch of papers, flyers, and notes tacked on it. Under on the left is the emblem.
Serpent Emblem 1: At the start of the chapter, you will be in a cemetery. Continue forward until you get to a narrow path leading uphill. There is a wooden fence on the left and a concrete wall on the right with a sign with an arrow. Turn around, and look to the right. You should see the emblem on the back of a gravestone.
Serpent Emblem 2: You will eventually get to the Cathedral. There are a bunch of people in here. Go to where the statue is above the "hidden staircase" that the game talks about. Turn completely around and look up. The emblem is on the window which is on the wall of the 3rd floor. You may also choose to wait until you actually get up to the third floor. There are two places to put statues you find and they are very close to the emblem (right in front of it in fact).
Serpent Emblem 3: As you travel through the cathedral, you will come to a point where Helena gets frantic in searching for someone. She will begin kicking down doors in a hallway filled with boxes, papers, and desks. One of the doors on the left in the hallway is a bathroom. Investigate the sink to lower the dirty water and find the emblem. There is another bathroom down the hall to the right, but that is the wrong one (the one you want is men). If you drain the women's restroom sink, you will have to face a shrieker.
Serpent Emblem 4: A ways into the chapter you will have a ton of zombies after you and will have to open a hatch and jump in. You will end up in a cavern. As you proceed, you will be walking on water and have to crawl under some arches. After getting up, look to your left to easily spot the emblem.
Serpent Emblem 1: As soon as you start, move to the door with the torches (by a lever). Look up and around the room to find the emblem.
Serpent Emblem 2: After defeating a horde of zombies (helps to use the fire trap), the door you unlocked with the ring will open. Head through and you'll come to some shallow water. When you get back on to dry land (to your right instead of going to the gate), you'll see a lot of coffins. There is one on the left with a skeleton in front of it and one behind it. It is closed. Open it to find the emblem.
Serpent Emblem 3: After trying to open a door using 2 levers, you will fall through the ground (a trap). This new area is high up and there are lots of bridges. As you move forward, you will eventually get to a boulder that you must push. Continue on and you will cross 2 wooden bridges and should see the emblem. If not, continue on until you get to a vase you can break which is next to a torch. Now look across the way to find the emblem. This is before you lower a bridge with your partner, so if you are at the bridge you went just a little too far.
Serpent Emblem 4: You will swim for a while and be chased by what appears to be an undead shark. After escaping and swimming above water, you will finally climb out. There is a ladder to your right. Climb up this ladder before pushing the gate with your partner. Move forward and you'll pass on some wooden bridges and into a tunnel with torches. You should notice two boxes and two barrels on your right. One of them is broken, and the emblem is inside of it.
Emblem 1: While inside the plane at the start of the chapter, you will have to go down the stairs. Once down, turn right and look under the area with the luggage.
Emblem 2: You will go down more stairs when getting to the bottom of the plane. To the right of the bottom of the staircase is a cabinet with drinks in it, along with an emblem.
Emblem 3: As soon as you start in the market area after (after the extremely durable enemy) go to where the curb is in front of the chicken cages. Look up and left a little, and you should see a neon sign (just the top of it). Next to it on some barbed wire is the emblem. It is best to use he sniper of course.
Emblem 4:Continue down the street of the market. A man gets killed by an enemy. As you go down the street you'll see his body to the right (you can examine his body). Go down that side alley and and to your right you'll see the emblem on the counter.
Emblem 1: Soon after the chapter begins, you will make your way inside a shop to get away from a bluish gas. On the right side of the store is an easy to spot emblem. You must get this somewhat quickly before the gas comes in.
Emblem 2: As you progress and exit the streets, you will go into a building. Crawl under the board and as you emerge, there is a truck to your left and an army vehicle to your right. Look in the back of the truck on the left.
Emblem 3: After the helicopter crashes, walk towards the door and look to the right. It's behind the counter on the shelf.
Emblem 4: You will be doing a lot in this chapter before actually getting to this emblem. Eventually you will be at a point where you have to shoot the the enemy (Simmons) when he is in front of a gate/door. After shooting him zombies will attack him. Go through the door and there is a staircase. Go under the staircase and look left to find the emblem on the ground.

Emblem 1: You will be going down a street and things are blowing up. When you enter a building, you will go up stairs to the 2nd floor. Look for the pigs hanging and it is behind them.
Emblem 2: You will be going down alleyways and fighting off enemies. There will be a scene where an enemy transforms and has a giant arm. After this, continue forward and you will fight even more enemies (on the right a garage door opens with some). You will eventually go into a door and see shelves in an otherwise empty room. There is a crate in the room and once you break it, you will spot the emblem on the shelf behind.
Emblem 3: Outside you will be climbing ladders with the city skyscrapers around you. Once you get higher, you will see a spot where you must interact with your partner to cross (it's a wooden beam you use your hands to continue on). Before you do this look up and to the left. On a skyscraper (bluish one being constructed still) is the emblem.
Note: As soon as you get on the roof area, you can turn around and spot this. It can also be noticed while climbing around. The spot mentioned in the description above is when you are closest to it, and can get the best shot.
Emblem 4: After you rescue some hostages, go down to Floor 6. In the middle of this floor are some hanging pigs with the emblem near them (do this before going into the elevator).
Emblem 1: After a while from starting the mission, you will come to a fence that must be blown up. Afterwards, one of your allies will be working on a train that is on it's side. You have to defend the position. At the opposite side of you, there is a shack with an emblem in it. You must shoot through the opening.
Emblem 2: -Piers only- This can only be obtained while playing as Piers. At a bridge you will be separated. As Piers, you will have to blow up a tank so that Chris can proceed. Exit the lookout point and continue on the path. As you go up the stairs, look to your left to spot an emblem on the bridge.
Emblem 3: Once you are inside City Hall (after the two giant enemies), go to the left or right of the stairs in the middle. There is a passage with an emblem on the wall by a painting.
Emblem 4: While inside City Hall, you will find Ada Wong. Well, she will find you. After the scene, do not follow her through the door she opens. Instead, turn around to find another little nook where there is an emblem.
Emblem 1: You will get to a playground area. There is a red gate you must open. After opening, go to the opposite side of the street using the yellow cross walk as a guide. Go left on the sidewalk and you'll see it on the boxes.
Emblem 2: Once you finally blow up the helicopter, you will go inside. A door is kicked open by one of the soldiers. Head inside and go left and into a room with beds. The emblem is on a bed.
Emblem 3: After destroying another helicopter, you should be at a red building. Face the water and look up. There is a half built structure in the air and the emblem is near the top.
Emblem 4: After a jeep ride featuring a mounted turret, you will be in a parking garage and have to shoot a bunch of enemies and jeeps while you are parked. If you are Chris, you will be on the gun and be able to shoot it. If you are Piers, you will have to snipe it. If you do not snipe it before you destroy all of the enemies, you will miss it as you will get back in the driver's seat.
Emblem 1: When you're in the hanger on ground level, look for the helicopter. Look on the seat in the front. Note: If checking vending machines this emblem is considered emblem 2.
Emblem 2: Once you get outside, look out on the water. There is a boat with lights. On top of the boat rests the emblem. Note: If checking vending machines this emblem is considered emblem 1.
Emblem 3: Eventually, inside the ship, you will have to rotate a red wheel to lower a ladder. After climbing up it, there is a staircase. Face the staircase to see the emblem before going up.
Emblem 4: -Piers Only- While flying in the jet, you will land and Piers will get out. After the first container is blown up out of your path, go to the back and jump over the barrier. The emblem is to the right in a tire.
Emblem 1: You will get separated from Piers and he will turn off a fan. As Chris, While climbing through the fan area, you will see the emblem above very easily. As Piers, you will have to shoot down through a vent. After being over, go straight and look down to where Chris is crawling.
Emblem 2: You will enter a room where both partners must help open the door. Look right and near the ceiling.
Emblem 3: After fighting off a big enemy, you will eventually be running through some corridors where doors are shutting and you must crawl and slide under them before they close. At the last one, you will have to use your partner's help to survive (one of them will be hanging). Right to the left of the door is the emblem.
Emblem 4: The last one is literally right before the end of the level. As you are progressing, the platforms you are running on start falling so you and your partner must be quick. Piers has to take care of the weird living walls blocking the way by shooting them with his electricity. Get to the very last wall and look just to the right of it. On the wall above a light is the last emblem. You can be either character to get it but might have more trouble "aiming" with Piers.

Emblem 1: Shortly after the chapter starts, exit outside. As you progress outside you will get to another door with an emblem above it. This is very hard to miss.
Emblem 2: Once outside again, you will go on a wooden bridge and have to "shoot your way out". Take out enemies and you will get to a spot that Jake can jump but Sherry cannot. There is a pole with a red ribbon on it. Look up across the way to see the emblem. Another easy one to spot.
Emblem 3: -Sherry Only- After the chase scene, you will be inside a building. Jake can hoist Sherry up in the bathroom part of the building where there is a ladder. As Sherry, once up, look behind you in the corner.
Jake's possible method:If you have a grenade or launcher, you can shoot the corner to get it still.
Emblem 4: You will be in a dark area with a lot of mannequins. As you exit to the street area, look ahead above a door on the building.
Emblem 1: You will have 3 different devices you must find in the snowy landscape. One of them is pretty high up and when you pick it up, a lot of enemies start attacking. You will be in the middle of what appears to be a lumber yard. Right near the device is some heavy equipment (kind of like a crane) used for the lumber. The emblem is on the operator's side.
Emblem 2: As you make your way towards the last device, you should see a tower to your left. Look at the top of the tower to spot the emblem.
Emblem 3: You will eventually be in a snowmobile with an avalanche behind you. As you make your way down, keep to your right. You will pass through a tree area, then an area where you are making low drop offs on harder ice. On the right side is the emblem and you must hit it with your snowmobile.
Emblem 4: You'll encounter an area where you must sneak around to avoid alerting an enemy. You must assassinate the bugs flying around and avoid being spotted by them or shooting anything. Near the end of the section you will have to pass a lot of these bugs in a small area. There is a frozen water tower in this section and on the side of it is the emblem. When you get to the final stairs to the door, turn around to spot it. Remember, shooting alerts the enemy. What you must do is go to the two dumpsters. From here, find the angle to snipe the emblem from far away, being able to then have enough time to run to the left dumpster and jump in.
Emblem 1: -Jake Only- In the facility, you'll eventually get to a camera control. You can switch cameras here and shoot if the camera you are on has a mounted turret. On the third camera you will help Sherry by shooting enemies and she will exit a door. To the right of the door is a shelf with the emblem on it.
Emblem 2: After the changing scene, you will come to an area with a staircase. If you look straight ahead to the left of the stairs, you will see a blue door. On the shelf inside that room is the emblem.
Emblem 3: A tank will show up in the main lobby area. As you progress up, it will move forward and destroy the statue in the middle. Head back down and look under the tank. The emblem is under it now.
Emblem 4: Shortly after, you will find yourself in shallow water and the tank will crash through a wall. Pass by and you'll see stairs. Go around the stairs to find the emblem.
Emblem 1: -Sherry Only- As you ride the motorcycle, you'll eventually get to a slow motion sequence with a tanker. As Sherry, look up to the left of the tanker to spot the emblem.
Emblem 2: After destroying the helicopter (the second time you fight it) you will be making your way down an alley. Make your way through it and it will open up a little bit. You should spot a yellow truck to the right and a red car flipped on it's side to your left. Next to the red car is a white car with an emblem on the window.
Emblem 3: You will make your way up a lot of stairs and then attempt to cross to another building outside. Jake falls onto the street. Turn around and go to the taxi, then look to the right. If Sherry, you will have to backtrack after getting down to ground level.
Emblem 4: Shortly after emblem 3, you will go through an alley and then up a ladder. Once at the top, look over the railing to see the emblem to the right.
Emblem 1: The room you start in has an emblem. Look up in the corner of the room to the right of the vent. After you get your gear back return here to shoot it.
Emblem 2: You will go up a floor and be in some narrow corridors. As you make your way through, you should see a room that has a few refrigerators (this is floor F). One of them has the emblem inside.
Emblem 3: When you get to the area with all the lava, you will eventually make your way to the bottom area to fight the Ustanak enemy (but don't fight him just yet). Look to the corner that has boxes on it. Right near there is the emblem on a column. It's very easy to see.
Emblem 4: After the fight with the Ustanak, go up the ladder and through the door. Once down the hall, look to your right.

Ada WongChapter 1
Emblem 1: As you make your way through the corridors, you will go up some steps next to a yellow barrel. Look to your right to see the emblem on a cabinet by a bed.
Emblem 2: After the turret section, you will go through a door and be in a room with bunk beds. Exit this room through the door and go left. On the back of the column you see is an emblem.
Emblem 3: There will be a flood and a lot of ladder climbing. After getting up one specific ladder, you will have a crawl space to your left. Go under it. There will be a spider enemy on the ceiling. The next ladder has an emblem to the right of it.
Emblem 4: After a lot of climbing to avoid the flood, you will get to a flooded corridor. There is a Gnezdo you must fight (the swarm of bugs). Continue on and you will jump through a door. Turn around and look right.
Emblem 1: Shortly after the chapter begins, you will get to some graves. Before going down the hole, check the back grave to find the emblem.
Emblem 2: You will go on a fairly tedious task to find 3 parts to a key (a family crest). Once you have all three, open the crypt. When you drop down into the crypt, turn around and look up to the right.
Emblem 3: After Debra and the mine cart, you will ride an elevator up. You will be in an area with a lot of the Whopper enemies. You will find a lab key on a dead body. Before going through the door, go around to the left where there is a staircase leading to water. You will see the emblem on the right.
Emblem 4: Shortly after the previous emblem, you will drop down into shallow water. This is after the Matador enemy. Look on the wall near right where you fell.
Emblem 1: Once you get to the market area, keep an eye out to the left as you run down the middle of the street. There is a stand at the very end to the left (this is a dead end).
Emblem 2: After going through the market area you will go into a building and exit. There is a green van on fire, and next to it there is an emblem. You can choose to go around the van or you can just shoot it from the front at an angle.
Emblem 3: You will eventually be on top of a bus fighting the chainsaw enemy. Once the bus stops at a blockade, quickly look forward and to your left to spot the emblem. Shoot it before the bus stats backing up gets too far.
Emblem 4: After grappling off a train, you will land by an apartment building. Once inside, go down the stairs on the right to find the emblem.
Emblem 1: Once you get outside on the boat, you will have to run from a search light. When you grapple away and land, turn around.
Emblem 2: Inside the ship again, you will come to a lone enemy in front of an elevator. On the left wall are some broken lockers and inside one, is an emblem.
Emblem 3: Right after the previous emblem, ride the elevator. After the cutscene, there is a hatch in front of you. To the left of it is an emblem. Don't jump down until you have it.
Emblem 4: You will eventually be running from a giant monstrosity that takes over the entire ship. As you run, you will get to a door where you turn a handle, and then shut the door. A face will appear on the wall shortly. Look left of the face following the wall to an emblem.
Emblem 1: As soon as the chapter starts, you're in a helicopter. The emblem is in the back of the yellow truck on your left. Rotate the helicopter as needed to get the right angle.
Emblem 2: After moving down a street fighting helicopters, you will stop and be up against an attack helicopter. Go to the right of the building and find an emblem on top of a sign.
Emblem 3: You will be shooting what looks like a Tyrannosaurus with your helicopter. After finally defeating it (takes forever), you will be shooting zombies on the roof. After saving the two people you will move to another roof. Veer left to shoot the emblem which will be easy to spot.
Emblem 4: After landing the helicopter, you will use your grapple. Right when you land, look to your right. The final emblem is on the corner of the roof near the hanging white tarps.

Nice job with this!!
The only critic I have is in Chris's Campaign on Chapter 4 your Emblem 1 (the one in the chopper) is actually Emblem 2, and Emblem 2 (the one on the "spotlight" ship) is actually Emblem 1.
So if someone is missing just the first File in their Collection for this chapter they'll need to get Emblem 2 to unlock that File...I recommend you switch these two around.

If done correctly, you will collect the emblem.

When the level starts the chopper & emblem is behind you, think about it like this...if you tried to run through the level as fast as possible you'd have to go outside to get up to the room with the switch that lowers the raised stairway, in order to chase after "Ada". The chopper is in the opposite direction of this objective. But when you jump down from the room with the switch (in where there is a ladder that can be lowered) you'd then have to pass the chopper (which would now be right front of you). I'm guessing this is why the chopper emblem is #2 and not #1, even though it is pretty much at the beginning of the level.
Here's a link to another forum with 2 users that I helped, they had thought it was glitched...
