Nothing comes to mind for me, it was pretty simple. Although the best bit of the game was capturing all of the 5 or 4 buildings. Nothing beats watching bleach and playing COD2.

The most infuriating outta the many was ''The Battle of Caen'' 2nd to last level cause the Geramn HQ. I died so many times on that part, more then the others. It was all by luck I got past that.

The Battle Of Rhine was the hardest mission overall. Such bullshit on that mission the whole level.

The silo had its moments and so did D DAY. But neither as impossible as people claimed they were. The worst parts were sniping the mortors, damn did that suck.

I haven't competed in fully yet but I've been flying through some missions. It's usually one part that gets me killed over and over every once in a while. The worst part is where you're doing the last Russian mission before the sniper one. I had to play tag with a tank while being shot at. It never comes to you so you have to chase it around that little square. >

Done now. Forgot I already posted here or I would've edited.*
Like other people have said, overall I didn't find the campaign that difficult. The only thing annoying was the missions where you had to breach multiple houses and until you were done you didn't get a checkpoint and your teammates won't help you. The second floor almost always got me killed in each building unless it was small.

Silo Mission

When you have to clear the 6(?) building, It took me multiple sessions and I just kept getting angrier and angrier, so glad I didn't give up though, felt like a great accomplishment when I got through it

You know, I gotta hand it to these old CoDs, they sure do give you a nice rush when you finally beat them on vet. Can't say the same about the new ones, they're just too easy, no skill or effort required to beat them and you just don't get that same feeling at the end.

It's funny how different games in this series are. Basically from Modern Warfare on, you can beat these games on Veteran with your eyes closed. Then there is this one.

This game can positively KISS MY DICK.

Took me for frigging EVER to get past the 6 buildings you have to capture on the D-Day mission. I FINALLY do it, and get to a checkpoint on the mortars literally a second or two away from a mortar hitting the top of the silo. I'm a completionist and honestly now I have no goddamn desire to finish this farking game. Probably blaze through it on easy to get the 150G for won the war, and then this disc is headed to the firing range with me.

There's two that come to mind: in one of the first missions (in Russia) you need to destroy a tank that goes around a square area problem is the tank avoids you at all costs and one shot from the tank will kill you. The second is when you have to fend off hill 400.

For me it was when you had to plant the explosives on the tank in the 2nd or 3rd Russian mission (it was the multiplayer map "Moscow".) The tank kept on moving away from you and it could kill you by destroying the cover and smoke appeared to not work against it. Really infuriating but I got it done.

After climbing the hill on the D-Day mission was the worst. Trying to get to the first bunker was a nightmare and I died literally hundreds of times for the next checkpoint. Finally got passed it after years of being stuck and beat the game over the next 4 days. I had almost no trouble defending the hill or the last level.

Got to the Silo mission and cleared 3 of 6 buildings.

There's been some cheap kills against me by the AI, but the most frustrating part of this game has to be your own team AI. So many times I've been doing well, only for a squad mate run directly in front of my fire. Silly b*****ds!

4th building is tough to get to, because even though I cleared the previous building, the Nazi's are running in and out of there. This means I get flanked on both sides, and because your team won't go upstairs, the learning curve for the level is pretty tough.

Tough. But a lot of fun.

I agree with that one...I finished COD2 about a month ago, and that particular mission took me the longest and had so many deaths there...frustrating too was that I finally made it to the silo and after the first wave a final shell hit the silo and at the same point that I died the checkpoint came, so when I restarted the checkpoint I would die 2 seconds later ... had restart the whole mission because of that....barely kept my controller in one piece :-) Besides that mission the rest was do-able and felt like a real achievement when I finally finished the game. IMO on of the harder(est) COD Vet I've done.

The exact same thing has just happened to me mate. Just got to the silo and died. Then the check point starts again just as a mortar is in the air and my gun is slowly being reloaded. 1 minute 50 on the clock too. Son of a.... GAAAAAAAAH!

I always save and quit after certain checkouts, so I hope it reloads just before I climb the silo. Not too sure if that will work though. Its too tough a mission to want to start from scratch though. Its one of those levels where luck has to be on your side. One minute you could be one-shot killed, the next you could get riddled only then have your team mates get in the way and get you killed. I got lucky because most the enemy seemed to run at me instead of shooting me from the distance on the last 3 plots.

Absolutely nothing infuriated me in this flawless game. God, I wish Call of Duty didn't turn into complete shit.

Got very lucky with my save point. When I just loaded the game up I was still at the bottom of the silo... thank cripes!

You know what put me off the most on this part? The squaddie shouting out directions. Once I ignored him and just used the gold stars on the compass I had no issues, actually enjoyed it. Became quite the Devil sniper and got most before they even set the mortars down.

Started Caen and then got shot in the face lol. Will give that a go tomorrow. That new machine gun for the English is frikkin mint though. Next to no recoil and a really great sight.

Anyway I'm off to watch some Band of Brothers before I check out some sleep well free net porn

EDIT: Crapolla!

Was doing well at Caen but then got stuck trying to get into the church. After about the 30th attempt my team finally started to help. So whilst they had the left side I went for the right. Nazi pops right out in front of me and for some stupid reason I press triangle and all sorts and ended up throwing a grenade as he shot the crap out of me.

Thats too much to go back to straight away, so I'll give it another blast in a few days.

Don't care how tough the game is, its still a lot of fun. My aim is to play through 2, 3, MW (Dreading No Fighting in the War Room - Purely because its a timed mission - Adds even more difficulty), MW2 and possibly MW3. I tried the demo of CoD classic but the came was just too crap. Excellent years back on PC, but even CoD2 feels highly advanced compared to it.

Tell you what I do love about CoD2. The loading times. I can pop the game in, load the save and then be playing in 30 seconds lol.

The Silo, moving from buildings A to F. There were so many dudes in the second floor of F. After that it was cake. Even the sniper part wasn't bad (I had the sniper with 10 bullet clip).

The Brigade Box gets an honorable mention, that ending where you have to defend the house from germans for 3 minutes then make your way over to a tank and destroy it was nuts. I didn't have any smoke grenades either which made it so much tougher.

Other than that there were a few parts (that fast tank in Stalingrad, the Tiger German HQ building, getting up Hill 400, Crossing the Rhine) that were tough but none that seemed impossible.

I've been playing through Black Ops 1 on veteran and it just seems unfair in comparison. The aimbot enemies who prefire you, shoot you around corners, kill you in 2 hits, know your exact position at all times, can shoot through smoke as if it wasn't there at all, etc. It just feels cheap. I'm stuck in the tunnel at the end of Executive Order and feel like I'll need dumb luck to get through it. As hard as Cod 2 was, the enemies weren't complete douche nozzles.
