Play today = Risky ?

Hi guys,

Is it risky to play GTA V today, before the official release date ?
Just play, not share all the great stuff you see online !

Not sure I want to take any risks...
Thanks for your view!

Oh, look. Another one of these threads. If you legitimately purchased the game, you are fine.

You'll be fine as long as you own a legitimate copy of the game. If so, pop it on and enjoy it.

Wait. It sickens me that some people might have the game early.

Seriously though - Play it. Enjoy it.

Because it wasn't enough the first time - if you have a legit copy, you are safe to play online.

Pirates were playing the game connected to Xbox LIVE prior to the weekend. If they are still online and have received no suspensions, I don't see how or why a legitimate copy would get a console flagged.

Keep having this "arguement" with someone on a forum i mod at. I request proof and it comes in the form of badly worded news stories where people were leaking info or having an illegal copy. Headlines to catch people to read is all i can see it as because when you actually read the story there is good reason why they got console banned or gamertag banned etc.

So far there has been now bans that have been linked to just playing the game early, they all have one of the two above tied in (or both).

I do remember a publisher threatening to ban people if they were caught playing a particular game a couple of days early (was it one of the Modern Warfare games?), but like you say, I think a lot of people ended up doing it anyway and, AFAIK, nobody ever got banned from it.

I was purely referring to this but i think threats have been made in the past with one of those yes, a CoD game at least. But MS Enforcement team when Stepto was on it still made multiple comments in the Major Nelson Show that while they would prefer people to wait they would not get an infraction or banned for playing earlier, it was the retailers fault.

If they backstep on that without informing people then the backlash would probably be about as big as when they said you couldn't share games with friends on xboxone lol
