I've been playing since the 2nd, but my favourite times in terms of outright enjoyment were the 4th generation with friends from school. I still have my original game boy :`).

In terms of the most definitive gen, i pick the 5th. The leap to disc media changed everything, along with the internet starting to become available for everyday users. By the end of the 5th generation gaming had moved on so much and paved the way for what we're playing now.

The 7th, since it has most of my favorite games and I've spent by far the most amount of time playing 7th gen games. However, I've only been alive since the 5th generation so my opinion isn't as credible as the majority of people here.

4th or 5th. Probably because I was a kid back then and live was much easier =)

I tried to come back to old games that I used to play in past, but now I just can't enjoy them.

Super Nintendo and Xbox 360 are my all time favourite game consoles. The achievements for X360 made me play more games

I have fond memories of 4th gen. Being a kid at the time, I didn't have a job to support my gaming. Thanks Blockbuster for renting games which my allowance can afford.
