Achievement Guide & Roadmap

I've not got all of the achievements as I'm not fast enough on them yet, but I'm trying to get there... My third achievement guide/roadmap so feedback appreciated as always.

Note that I have some achievements on non-Live accounts, but not on my Live account (yet).

Roadmap

Overview:

- Estimated achievement difficulty: 9/10 – mental and physical reactions required for 1000G

- Offine: 70 (1000G)

- Online: 0 (0G)

- Approximate amount of time to 1000: 10+ hours, depending on intelligence, physical reactions and dedication to the game (don't expect a quick 1k)

- Minimum number of playthroughs needed: N/A no "playthroughs" as you can choose what you play

- Missable Achievements: Most of them, if you're not fast/smart enough to get them...

- Do cheat codes disable achievements: no known cheats

- Does difficulty affect achievements: mental and physical difficulty

- Glitched achievements: None in main game, many in DLCs

- Unobtainable achievements: About half of them, if you're not fast/smart enough to get them...

- Extra equipment needed: Kinect, mental and physical speed, and 3 friends

Introduction: Welcome to my "work in progress" Achievement Guide and Roadmap for Dr Kawashima’s Body and Brain Exercises, this game is like a physical version of the DS Brain Training Games. This game will help you improve your mental agility and physical reactions, but it can't "make you smarter" - it's a fun little game for the family, and can be used to help your children improve their mental arithmetic speed and reactions as well as keeping your brain "young".

Note that this game will try to get your "brain age" to 20, what it considers the optimal brain age (when your brain is at it's peak), anyone younger that that may appear to have an "old brain".

You can get the "consecutive days" achievements by going off-line and changing the system clock, but if you go ahead of the current date it WILL mess up your calendar and confuse the game, so if you're going to do this, make sure you set your starting date at least 3 months before the actual date you start if you wish to get the "50 Stamps" achievement in one go.

For the multi-player achievements, only the player whose profile is in use gets the Achievement as the games are played in their game, annoying, but that's the way the game is built...

Good guide....one things about the group exercises is that you only need the other people at the very start of the first group exercise when it has to scan multiple people. It is not required at all afterwards and you can do them all by yourself - even the four player ones. After the exercises are done and the picture has been taken (which you don't even need anyone there to have taken), you can select "try again" and you'll have yourself a brand-new group exercise without having to go through all the menus again.

Also, there are only 50 achievements to get the 1000 and 70 achievements if you want to complete it to 1500. I've purchased both DLCs but I doubt I'll ever be able to get all of the achievements. It is brutally hard no matter how much you practice, even with the guide button glitch because for some of them, pausing the game won't help you much.

Finally...I know you qualified it by saying that a 100% completion is virtually impossible, but I seriously doubt anyone could ever complete this game with 10-12 hours of game play. It takes about 10 minutes just to do a 2-player group exercise, and even longer than that for the 3-4 player ones. Plus, considering that the Master of Themes chievo is 100% random, the group exercises (while involving no skill), will take about 2-3 hours by themselves. On top of that, the rest of the exercises, even on beginner, require lots of practice to get an A+ on. I would think that it would take a minimum of 35-50 hours for anyone to expect to complete this game, if they ever could. Unlike some kinect games there is no cheating this one (other than the guide button - but even that is tough).

I don't want to make it sound like I don't think this is a good guide because it is.

Finally, I've written some solutions on Trueachievements.com (sorry for plugging that site here) that hopefully will help some people out.

got the game on the cheap but still wondering whether should open it or not.. considering it has two DLCs.. it may seriously affect my completion percentage if i can't play it a lot. I got other games, batman, fifa12, kinect sports 2,, which means i can't really change the system date jut for this one..

decision, decision, decision...

Fortunately I only have to mind about Forza 4 :p but Dr. Kawa... is really fun and prepare to spend from 15 to 30 min daily according to how much exercises you are willing to do but as the game itself advice you, only play some each day as the brain and body needs to rest
