Halo 4 will receive new multiplayer maps and an additional mode called Ricochet as part of the Champions Bundle, 343 Industries announced during a Rooster Teeth Expo livestream.

The downloadable content will be available as a complete bundle or separate packs. The Bullseye Pack will introduce sports-themed Spartan armor and new maps Pitfall, which is a remake of Halo 3's The Pit, and Vertigo. The pack's new mode, Ricochet, introduces 5v5 gameplay in what the developer calls "combat basketball." Players will compete for possession of a ball while scoring points, attacking and defending. Players can either throw the ball into the goal or run it in, which rewards more points.

New weapons and armor, including the Prefect, Mark V and ODST armor sets, will be available for separate purchase in the Infinity Armor Pack and the Steel Skin Pack. Players must purchase the map pack or complete bundle to receive the new mode for the first two weeks. Afterwards, it will be live for everyone via matchmaking.

The Champions Bundle will be available Aug. 20 for 800 Microsoft Points. It will not be included as part of Halo 4's Season Pass.

If you want to purchase the content separately for whatever reason,

Infinity Armor Pack - 240 MS Points

Steel Skin Pack - 240 MS Points

There is a chance the game will reach 2000G after all.

Damn, not apart of season pass. If Gears of War is anything to go by, Microsoft know adding achievements will tempts many achievement hunters to buy the add-ons, so my guess is that it will come with DLC.

Edit.

Trailer here.

Well, I wasn't expecting another map pack. If this comes with achievements I'll just pickup the bundle that comes with the two maps, as I'm perfectly happy with my current armour and weapon skin selection. If this doesn't come with achievements, well I'm pretty busy with other games right now so I'll wait for the DLC to go on sale.

Infinity Armor Pack is the only cool thing I see.

Weapon skins? Pay for them!? A terrible waste of money. And The Pitt had it's day in Halo 3. I don't really care for its remake. Especially when AA's are going to be available...it'll ruin the map. 800 MSP is reasonable though.

I have zero intentions of picking this up unless it comes with achievements though, but I highly doubt it will.

Fingers crossed it doesn't come with achievements so I don't feel obligated to buy it. I was never a big fan of The Pit to begin with, Vertigo looks pretty bland, and the armor/skins are tacky as hell. Maybe if they had made this available closer to launch I would've jumped on for the MJOLNIR Mk V armor, but now it's just a waste since nobody I know plays it anymore.

Last time I properly played Halo 4 must've been half a year ago when I played co-op campaign with a bud. Other than that I just popped it in because I bought the LE which held the season pass. Just played for the new achievements then, and stopped whenever I completed them all. Haven't touched Halo 4 since Castle map pack came out in April, and I'm not looking forward to buying another DLC. I hope to God this doesn't come with achievements. Please. The OCD Halo completionist in me can't take this anymore. I want Halo to be fun again.

Throwing weapon skins, new armor, pretty colors etc doesn't make a game all too enjoyable. No substance.

New maps? Ok. Wish it was more new instead of remakes. Wasn't a fan of The Pit from Halo 3. I wasn't a fan of Valhalla, either.

As echoed above will only care if achievements are coming along for the ride, and will end up probably boosting with you guys here to clear them out. At some point boosting was the only fun to be had in that game's multiplayer.

God help me, if they add in vidmaster achievements...--;

You and me both.

343 will probably decide to bend us over backward and fuck us with achievements.

Not sure I recognize some of the armors in the first screen cap under "New Armor Skins". The leftmost looks like Venator, but the middle and right ones escape me. Anyone know what they are, or if they're DLC?

Prefect (perfect? Prefect? Pron? Porn?) is the only armor that remotely looks like Elite armor (Contoured arms/legs is kind-of-like Elite armor, since it says so in the description, but only Recon looks like somewhat Elite-chest-ish).

Finally!
