SpiralGamerpro
My Xbox 360 is taking way longer to do things than usual. I have cleared my cache, and I have about 80 GB of free room. What can I do?
Carmona
How old is it? If it's an older model (Pre-slim) then it might be dying. Try and get what you can for it before it goes.
xRaW CaRNage x
[ame] [/ame] Try this if your talking about your dashboard , friendslist etc. I did with an old elite and it worked pretty good. Im sure itll work better with a newer slim model.
CroutonCrusader
The tips in the above video helped me, but the thing that helped me the most was moving my profile off of the hard drive and onto a thumb drive. Make sure it's a thumb drive that meets the speed requirements.

SpiralGamerpro
Thanks for your help, everybody. It's back to normal as of right now. It turns out my profile was a whopping 138 MB, so deleting and re-downloading it has sped up my Xbox. Once again, thanks!
SpiralGamerpro
Since my last post, my Xbox 360 is now running even slower. I'm now getting error messages when I try to download updates, and each of the solutions above no longer rectify these issues. Is there anything else I can do, or is it finally time to switch consoles?
The Big LT
Sounds like it's on it's way out to me. Mine is about five years old now and it's slowly showing signs of it's age, touch wood though that it has some decent time left before I need to replace it (I say as I just cursed myself). Nevander
Try this: There is a possible fix for the problem you described. Why it works is unknown, and it won't work on a 4 GB flash drive model slim. . Remove the hard drive and boot up without it, denying any updates it offers, fully firing up offline. Power down properly, restore HDD, and restart as normal. . 99% of the people with the issues you described do that and are completely fixed afterwards. http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/xbox_support/f/9/p/440422/2204823.aspx#2204823 Worked for me. SailMedic
If your Xbox 360 is no longer under warranty, then it may be in your best interest to open your console and and dust your components. A can of computer duster and a fine fiber paint brush will help remove dust from the mobo and cooling system.
