Introduction:

Titanfall is an online-only first-person shooter with a focus on mechs and parkour-style action. It incorporates leveling up to unlock equipment, regenerating to start over with minimal equipment but challenges intended to change how/what you play as a means of maintaining interest in the game, and collecting/using combat modifiers (called Burn Cards) to create the potential of each match having a unique flavor. The equipment choices are designed to provide a wide range of approaches to combat, supporting twitch-gamers, snipers, and those who may need a little help to get a head shot.

Abbreviated Walkthrough:

Note that you will need to have all of the DLC installed before you can do anything except the training and Frontier Defense. It is free content, but quite large. Also, without a second console or a dedicated partner, it may not be possible to complete the game as some game modes are permanently bereft of players.

There are generally two approaches to play the game. To save several hundred hours, you can dual box most of the achievements, either with a partner on Xbox Live or using two boxes/TVs in the same room. Alternately, playing entirely solo, you will need to defeat other players, which will depend greatly on your skill with FPS games and for some game modes, available opponents. Each achievement will include guidance for either approach when appropriate.

To start, go through training which will unlock the one related achievement and show you how some of the mechanics work. As you play the game, many tips will be displayed on the loading screens which provide supplements to the training. Note that you can fail the final training mission for it to end more quickly. When the announcer says it is the last step, feel free to let the AI kill you immediately as there are no negative repercussions.

At this point, pick a game mode and jump in. The maps rotate in a random order, except for the campaign, which rotates in a fixed order but which team you are on changes outside of your control. Ultimately you will need to play each map in each of five different game modes, as well as win 50 of each game type and play 50 campaign missions. In addition, you will need to win each campaign map twice, once as IMC and once as Militia. Those wins will count as a win on that map in whichever game mode they are.

As you play, be aware of what map you are on and if it is a DLC map, try to focus on any achievements tied to that map. You have zero control over what map you are playing unless you do a custom map in Frontier Defense, so take advantage of every opportunity to check the DLC achievements off your list.

Every day you will want to complete the three daily challenges. Some may be quite difficult for you, in which case feel free to wait for the next day's challenges. You will need to complete 100 challenges, which requires a minimum of 34 days played since you get three per day.

While there are 14 playlists in the game, only seven matter for achievements: Campaign, Frontier Defense, Attrition, Hardpoint, Capture the Flag, Last Titan Standing, and Pilot Hunter. The last five are the primary game modes you will use throughout your time in Titanfall. You also can choose various servers if you need to find more players (the US servers tend to have the most players, followed by Europe) or empty playlists to enable boosting (the various Asian servers tend to have the least players). The lowest number of players (50-150 as of April 2016) are generally online between 2am and 7am PT Tue/Wed/Thu. The highest number of players (700-9000 as of April 2016) are generally online between 3pm and midnight PT Fri/Sat/Sun.

The big achievements to maintain an awareness of throughout your journey to Gen 10 are Too Legit To Quit, I've Seen It All, Big Spender, I'll Take Cash, and Stay Gold. All The Hardware is a special case where you have to unlock every piece of equipment, buy all the voices from the Black Market, and then complete any challenge. The unlocking has to be done in one generation since every time you gen up, you lose all your unlocked equipment. See the guide for that achievement for a discussion of the three times it makes sense to work on this achievement.

DLC: Expedition

Abbreviated Walkthrough:

As these maps come up in rotation you will need to win at least once on each map in any game mode, and play them all in each of the five primary game modes even if you don't win. Blood Water and Super Faded will both take multiple games even boosting, and if you are playing without boosting it may take a LOT of games.

DLC: Frontier's Edge

Abbreviated Walkthrough:

As these maps come up in rotation you will need to win at least once on each map in any game mode, and play them all in each of the five primary game modes even if you don't win. Overkill requires not only having a particular type of Burn Card, but having it available to activate and surviving long enough to use it. Gravesite will almost certainly take multiple matches on Dig Site to unlock.

DLC: IMC Rising

Abbreviated Walkthrough:

As these maps come up in rotation you will need to win at least once on each map in any game mode, and play them all in each of the five primary game modes even if you don't win. Rejected requires you have available and activate one particular rare Burn Card. Easy Targets is quite simple if you are boosting, but otherwise will be one of the more challenging achievements in the game.

DLC: Title Update #8

Abbreviated Walkthrough:

A lot of these achievements will just happen on your journey to Gen 10, although note that Too Legit To Quit will be permanently unable to be achieved if you purchase the wrong thing in the Black Market.

Conclusion:

Titanfall will take a few hours to complete, but with 2000 gamerscore well distributed, you should not get bored on the way. The one mechanic that can be irritating is the complete inability to choose which map you are playing on other than in Frontier Defense, but if that is the only critique I have of the game after having put in 300 hours (I played it on both the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One), that bodes well for other players as well.

Achievement Guide:

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2820/86527-lo.jpg Best in Class 25:gsicon:

Finished as the top player on your team once

To unlock this, you need to complete the MVP level one challenge once. This requires three or more people in the game when the match ends, and you need to be the top player on your team from a points perspective. In case you don't earn it before Gen 9, you will need to do so fifty times to move up to Gen 10.

Boosting Approach:

This can be easily boosted, but does require three players/boxes. Start a Last Titan Standing match and have one team press :dup: and then press :xbut: three times. This will cause them to eject and end the round. LTS is a minimum of four rounds, so with loading screens you can boost through one game in about 4-5 minutes.

Non-Boosting Approach:

Frontier Defense is a great place to get this. You work as part of a team of up to four players and defend a fixed point (called a Harvester) from waves of AI. You can earn MVP even if you lose as long as you are the top scoring player. In later generations you will start unlocking Burn Cards that let you immediately call in a Titan. Save all of those for Frontier Defense when you want to be MVP, and set up your Titans to use the Triple Threat weapon since it is highly effective against grunts, spectres, and enemy Titans. Call in a Titan as soon as the game starts and focus on clearing out most of the grunts and spectres. Remember to place your turrets at the beginning of rounds 2-5, and stick them up high and slightly away from the Harvester so they don't get killed as quickly.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2820/86528-lo.jpg All charged up 25:gsicon:

Killed 5 enemies with one Arc Cannon shot

The Arc Cannon is one of the weapons you can equip your Titan with. It is very effective against shields, although not so effective against Titans once they are unshielded. However, it is VERY effective against grunts, spectres and pilots, so that is the best approach for unlocking this achievement. The shot chains across nearby enemies, so the key to unlocking this is to aim for a clump of non-Titan enemies.

This may unlock through ordinary progression as there are many challenges you will need to complete using the Arc Cannon, so it may save you time to not worry about deliberately aiming for this achievement unless it has not unlocked as you are nearing the end of your achievement hunt.

The simplest way to unlock this achievement deliberately is to start a single player Frontier Defense game on Fracture (set Allow Public to No) with a Titan setup that includes the Arc Cannon and a pilot setup that includes the Smart Pistol. Stay near the Harvester and circle around it using the Smart Pistol to decimate the initial set of grunts that attack. As soon as you can call down your Titan, do so and then look for a group of five or more grunts and/or spectres. The achievement unlocks during the match, so you will know if you have been successful.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2820/86529-lo.jpg Pull! 25:gsicon:

Killed 10 ejecting Pilots

After a Titan is doomed, the pilot has a chance to eject and as their Titan dies, hopefully land and continue to fight on foot. Your goal for this achievement is to kill them before they land. While it is possible to do so on foot yourself, it is much much easier in a Titan.

Note that in order to move up from Gen 5 to Gen 6, you will need to do this five times, so there is no need to deliberately work on it until that point.

Boosting method:

Start up a 1x1 game in any mode except Last Titan Standing and have both players bring in a Titan. The easiest guns to do this with are Arc Cannon and Chaingun, but it is possible to do with any of the Titan weapons. With proper timing you can even kill an ejecting pilot using the Triple Threat, but that is more luck than skill. Stick with one of the two guns above, or use the Plasma Railgun if you also want to unlock Pull Harder!. Have the Titans facing each other about 4 body lengths apart and the profile working on this achievement should reload if necessary and aim up at about a 60-70 degree angle. The profile that is going to (hopefully!) die should eject by pushing :dup: and then :xbut: three times. At this point, it is merely necessary to hit the pilot before they hit the ground. With the Arc Cannon and Rail Gun, one hit is a kill. With the Chaingun, it may take two or three shells.

Non-Boosting method:

Join a Campaign or Attrition game for the most opponents. Ideally, you will want to be in a full room with 12 players. Ensure you have a Titan setup with your gun of choice as mentioned in the Boosting method, and then lurk... Lots of Titans die as a rule, and most of the pilots successfully eject. Try to stick near other friendly Titans and help them out, but as soon as an enemy Titan is doomed, back off and aim up, even if you are getting shot at.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2820/86530-lo.jpg Pull Harder! 25:gsicon:

Killed an ejecting Pilot with the Plasma Railgun

After a Titan is doomed, the pilot has a chance to eject and as their Titan dies, hopefully land and continue to fight on foot. Your goal for this achievement is to kill them with the Plasma Railgun before they land.

Note that in order to move up from Gen 5 to Gen 6, you will need to do this five times (although not necessarily with the Plasma Railgun) so there is no need to deliberately work on it until that point.

Boosting method:

Start up a 1x1 game in any mode except Last Titan Standing and have both players bring in a Titan with the person working on this achievement armed with the Plasma Railgun. The Plasma Railgun shot is not instantaneous, so a good method is to aim slightly under the pilot and then shoot as they pause at the apex of their ejection jump. Your shot will arrive as they start to fall and if all goes well, disintegrate them.

Non-Boosting method:

Join a Campaign or Attrition game for the most opponents. Ideally, you will want to be in a full room with 12 players. Ensure you have a Titan setup with the Plasma Railgun, and then lurk... Lots of Titans die as a rule, and most of the pilots successfully eject. Try to stick near other friendly Titans and help them out, but as soon as an enemy Titan is doomed, back off and aim up, even if you are getting shot at. Reload frequently so that you always have ammunition ready.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2820/86531-lo.jpg All The Cards 25:gsicon:

Earned 500 burn cards

Burn cards allow you to modify some element of combat, such as bringing in a Titan immediately at the start of a match, be cloaked 100% of the time, use a more powerful version of a weapon, or earn XP faster. They are awarded for completing some challenges, for winning matches, and for advancing from one generation to the next. Initially you can only hold 30 cards, but as you advance in generations this increases to a maximum of 100 for Gen 10 players. If you earn a card and do not have room for it, you will still earn the card unless it is for a kill related challenge, but will need to delete some to get back down to the maximum. Your best approach is to have 10 open slots at any given time to ensure you do not miss any awarded Burn Cards.

You will earn this several times over as you advance through the game, so there is no need to focus on it.

You can track your progress in the achievement app where each 1% progress represents five cards.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2820/86532-lo.jpg My Robot Army 20:gsicon:

Hacked 20 Spectres using the Data Knife

Spectres are the humanoid robot ground enemies that look vaguely similar to a terminator from the movie of the same name. When you are quite close to them you will see a prompt on the screen that says "Hold :xbut: to hack." If you do so, you will automatically pull out your Data Knife, stick it in their head, and hack them. If there are other Spectres nearby, this will automatically hack them as well (apparently via wifi based on the text provided on a related burn card). The hacked Spectre/s will then follow you around and fight by your side, which can provide a small edge in some game modes.

Some maps and game modes have a lot of Spectres, while some have none. If you persistently hack ones you see, this can be one of the first achievements you earn. If you are struggling, cloak prior to hacking them so you don't get shot at and aim for groups to speed it up. You can also play Frontier Defense on Fracture, which contains 20 Spectres in wave 1.

You can track your progress in the achievement app, where each 5% progress represents 1 Spectre hacked.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2820/86533-lo.jpg Refuge 50:gsicon:

Survived an evacuation

To unlock this achievement, you need to lose a match (any mode except Frontier Defense or Last Titan Standing) and successfully evacuate.

Boosting Method:

Start a Capture The Flag game with two players, and have the person who needs Refuge wait while the other player captures six flags to end the match. You will then be in the Epilogue and have 30-45 seconds to get a an evacuation point on the map (indicated by a large icon). Have the winner of the match wait while you get to the evacuation point, board the ship when it arrives (simply jump into it and you will board automatically), and then wait while the ship heads into space.

Non-Boosting Method:

This should happen many times as you work on all of the other achievements. When you lose a match and are prompted to evacuate, you will need to survive your journey to the evacuation point, board the ship, and leave the map successfully. Many players on the opposing team try very hard to prevent you from doing so by killing you before you reach the evacuation point or by destroying the evacuation ship itself. Regardless, you will likely successfully evacuate 100+ times before you are done with all the other achievements.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2820/86534-lo.jpg I Like A Challenge 50:gsicon:

Completed all challenges for a single weapon

Challenges are not available immediately when starting the game, and for a few levels after you move up a generation. When they are, you can choose Challenges in the menu and look through the various weapon challenges to track your progress. This achievement requires that you complete all available level V challenges for a single weapon. Note that challenges reset each time you move up a generation, so this has to be done in a single generation. Depending upon your play style, you may do this naturally as you play.

Boosting Method:

Play Last Titan Standing with one or two opponents, and use the Mag Launcher as your Pilot's anti-Titan weapon. At the start of the match, exit your Titan (hold down :xbut: for a few seconds) and put it in Guard mode by pressing :ddown: once. Cross the map on foot and destroy the enemy Titans with your Mag Launcher. After your tenth kill, the level V challenge will complete and the achievement will unlock in-game.

Non-Boosting Method:

You can choose to focus on an anti-Titan weapon such as the Mag Launcher (which is the most survivable anti-Titan weapon to use since it can fire from outside the line of sight of an enemy Titan) or any anti-Pilot weapon you are comfortable with. Use the menu to keep track of what you need to be focused on for that particular weapon, and then just keep playing matches until it unlocks. The Smart Pistol and the R-101C Carbine are both easy weapons to use and the challenges are straight forward and simple, if somewhat longer than the anti-Titan weapon challenges. Challenges related to Spectre kills will progress much faster in Frontier Defense games than any other mode, although Sniper Spectres and Suicide Spectres do not count for challenges.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2820/86535-lo.jpg IMC Pilot 50:gsicon:

Completed the IMC campaign

The Campaign playlist consists of nine maps with either Attrition or Hardpoint Domination as the game mode. The maps cycle in a fixed order, and what makes this a campaign instead of just a mixed mode playlist is that there are a few cut scenes thrown in and you sometimes start with an AI Titan on your side. You will play as either IMC or Militia each time you start a map, and you have exactly zero control over which side you are placed on. A consequence of this is that it may take as little as 9 games to unlock this achievement, or over 100.

The playlist order is below:

  • The Refueling Raid (Hardpoint) on Fracture
  • The Colony (Attrition) on Colony
  • The Odyssey (Attrition) on Relic
  • Get Barker (Attrition) on Angel City
  • Assault on the Sentinel (Attrition) on Outpost 207
  • Here Be Dragons (Hardpoint) on Boneyard
  • The Three Towers (Attrition) on Airbase
  • The Battle of Demeter (Hardpoint) on Demeter
  • Made Men (Hardpoint) on Corporate

The tracking for this achievement can be challenging as it is mixed in with Hardpoint and Attrition tracking. If you stick with the Campaign playlist and avoid the Hardpoint and Attrition playlists until all of your campaign-related achievements are unlocked, then you can select Personal Stats -> Levels and the first column will indicate if you have played on a particular map in the appropriate game mode. Note that there are achievements for winning instead of just playing on each of these maps in the Campaign playlist, and tracking for that is clearly provided, so there is no particular need to track this achievement separately.

This achievement unlocks after you have played all nine maps as the IMC. Winning is not necessary for this achievement.

Boosting Method:

Campaign matches can be started with as few as four players, but they are very popular playlists as of April 2016, so if you are going to boost, you will need twelve players to lock random players out of the room. Use one of the Asian servers, form two parties of six, and search until you are placed in a lobby together. At that point, all twelve players will stick together and cycle through all of the maps in order, randomly switching sides.

Non-Boosting Method:

Jump in and play! This is the recommended approach for all of the campaign achievements. Roughly 75% of all the players in the game are in either the Attrition or Campaign playlists, so finding an active lobby is very easy, while boosting is very challenging as there are no servers where those two playlists are inactive. The longer you stay in one lobby with the same group, the more maps you will play on. If you are down to needing only one or two maps, pay attention to the order of the playlist as shown above. If the map you need is 7 games away, try switching to a different server to land at a different spot in the playlist order.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2820/86536-lo.jpg Militia Pilot 50:gsicon:

Completed the Militia campaign

The Campaign playlist consists of nine maps with either Attrition or Hardpoint Domination as the game mode. This achievement will unlock when you regenerate the first time. You will need to obtain level 50 and at that point there will be a new option in the menu for Regeneration. I recommend reading the guide for All The Hardware before deciding on when you will regenerate the first time.

This may happen just through normal game play. Note also that to advance from generation 8 to generation 9, you will need to kill 50 enemies via Titanfall, so you will absolutely unlock this at that point if you haven't already.

Boosting Method:

Start a game of Capture the Flag with two players, and shoot all the grunts and the opposing pilot until you have the ability to call down a Titan. There are many burn cards that will speed this process up if desired. Have the enemy pilot stand in an open spot, then aim at their feet and press :ddown: to get one kill. As soon as your Titan drops and kills one or more enemies, enter it and have it self destruct by pressing :dup: followed by 3 presses of :xbut:. This will ensure you immediately start working on earning another Titan. Repeat as needed. Note that this is likely slower than the non-boosting method detailed below.

Non-Boosting Method:

This can be done in any game mode, but you will have a lot more immobile enemies in Frontier Defense games than any other mode. You can drop a Titan on Mortar Titans when they are shooting at the Harvester, or on groups of grunts and/or Spectres when they are close to and shooting at the Harvester. As soon as your Titan drops and kills one or more enemies, enter it and have it self destruct by pressing :dup: followed by 3 presses of :xbut:. This will ensure you immediately start working on earning another Titan. Repeat as needed until the achievement unlocks.

The ability to customize Pilots is unlocked at level 5. To earn this achievement you will need to change any one item and then go back to the prior menu. As a rule, you will want to modify your Pilot extensively as you unlock various pieces of equipment, and have multiple setups for different game types and goals. As such, you will undoubtedly get this achievement without trying.

You earn experience in the game by accomplishing game objectives such as scoring a flag capture, defending a hardpoint, or killing an opponent. You also get XP for finishing games, winning games, evacuating if you lose a game, and completing challenges. There are lots of challenges, and completing level V challenges will provide over 16,000 XP (10k for level V, 5k for level IV, 1k for level III) so if you want to level up as quickly as possible, focus on one weapon at a time and try to complete lots of challenges with it.

This achievement will unlock when you reach level 25 as a Generation 1 pilot.

Won 50 Capture The Flag matches

You need to be on the winning team of a Capture the Flag match 50 times. Note that for the I've Seen It All achievement, you also need to play Capture the Flag on every non-DLC map at least once, and for various DLC achievements you will need to play this game mode on every DLC map as well.

This achievement can be tracked in the Player Stats -> Levels screen, although it shows win counts by map so you will have to scroll through all 24 maps and add up the total yourself. You also can look at the achievement app where each 2% equals one win.

Boosting Method:

Create a two player game on one of the Asian servers and as soon as both players have spawned you can have one player quit, giving a victory to the other player. There will be a small delay of about 30 seconds before the victory screen appears, but at that point the other player can rejoin the lobby. Rinse and repeat. Each victory will take approximately five minutes with the lobby delays and loading screens.

Non-Boosting Method:

You are much more likely to win in a competitive Capture the Flag match if you have a few teammates that have mics and coordinate. Put one or two people on defense, and one or two on offense, and communicate with each other. You cannot score if your flag is not at your base, so it is important to keep your flag from being captured. The various US servers usually have a fair number of players in the Capture the Flag playlist. If you find a team that works well, try to stick with them by inviting them into your party in the game itself, otherwise the players will get redistributed for balance after each match.

Won 50 Attrition matches

You need to be on the winning team of an Attrition match 50 times. Note that for the I've Seen It All achievement, you also need to play Attrition on every non-DLC map at least once, and for various DLC achievements you will need to play this game mode on every DLC map as well.

The Campaign playlist has quite a few games that are Attrition matches, and those count for this achievement. Since you need to win all of those for other achievements, I suggest completing all of the Campaign achievements before focusing on this one.

This achievement can be tracked in the Player Stats -> Levels screen, although it shows win counts by map so you will have to scroll through all 24 maps and add up the total yourself. You also can look at the achievement app where each 2% equals one win.

Boosting Method:

Attrition is by far the most popular game mode, and even the Asian servers usually have 50-100 players active at any given time as of April 2016. As such, boosting is problematical and unlikely to work without 12 players. Create a twelve player game on one of the Asian servers and have the losing team all run to a clear central spot to be killed by the winning team. You cannot use the quit method due to the popularity of the playlist. While a victory would indeed be counted if all opposing players quit, chances are high that a random player would enter the game on that team before the game registered a victory.

Non-Boosting Method:

You are much more likely to win in a competitive Attrition match if you have a few teammates that have mics and coordinate. Killing Pilots and Titans are four points each, while killing grunts and Spectres are one point each. If you struggle with keeping a positive k/d ratio against enemy Pilots, focus on mopping up lots of one point kills. Using the Smart Pistol it is quite possible to kill 40-60 grunts and Spectres in one game, which is enough points to positively contribute toward a team win even if you get killed 6-8 times.

Non-Boosting Method:

You are much more likely to win in a competitive Pilot Hunter match if you have a few teammates that have mics and coordinate. Work towards spawning Titans and stay near each other for support. The various US and European servers usually have a small number of players in the Pilot Hunter playlist, but you may need to try at a different time of day if there are no games at a particular time. If you find a team that works well, try to stick with them by inviting them into your party in the game itself, otherwise the players will get redistributed for balance after each match.

Boosting Method:

Create a two player game on one of the Asian servers and as soon as both players have spawned you can have one player eject by pressing :dup: and then :xbut: three times. Repeat this for all four rounds and this will give a victory to the other player. Note that you cannot quit out of this game mode to give a victory to the other team. Each victory will take approximately six minutes with the lobby delays and loading screens.

Non-Boosting Method:

You are much more likely to win in a competitive Last Titan Standing match if you have a few teammates that have mics and coordinate. Stay together to support each other and focus on taking down one enemy Titan at a time. Be careful of Nuclear Ejection wiping out your entire team, however! Played every gameplay mode on every map

This achievement does not require playing on any of the DLC maps (although there are related achievements in the first three DLC's that essentially mirror this achievement for those maps). You will need to play on the 15 original maps in the following game modes:

  • Attrition
  • Hardpoint
  • Capture the Flag
  • Last Titan Standing
  • Pilot Hunter

You can track your progress in-game by going to Personal Stats -> Levels. The first column of data shows games played by game type. Look for any map/game mode that shows zero games played and go join the appropriate playlist until that map shows up. If you quit out of a match, that map will not get counted as played, so ensure you stay in the game all the way through the end and land back in the lobby. The achievement app is coded for this achievement to be a yes/no condition rather than a percentage of progress, so it cannot be used to determine how close you are to unlocking the achievement.

There is no way to choose what map you are going to play for this achievement, you simply have to join the appropriate playlist and wait for all of the maps to cycle through. If you are down to one or two maps, you can try changing your server after joining a lobby that has a map you have already played on, but there is no guarantee that will pull up the map you need. The only guaranteed way is to stay in a single lobby long enough for all 24 maps to cycle through, which can take 3-4 hours based on the game mode.

Rodeo-killed a Titan

To "rodeo" a Titan refers to jumping on an enemy Titan. A "rodeo-kill" is when you subsequently use a pistol, primary anti-pilot weapon, or Charge Rifle to shoot the innards of the Titan and doom it. As a pilot, it is often faster to kill a Titan via rodeo because you bypass the shields. Note that if the Titan has electric smoke as part of its equipment, you can be killed very quickly.

You will need to get 50 rodeo-kills to progress from generation 6 to generation 7, so there is no need to focus on this achievement by itself. If for some reason you haven't done so before that point, you will definitely unlock during generation 6.

Frontier Defense is a great mode to play if you are trying to get rodeo-kills as there are a lot of Titans, very few of whom have electric smoke. It is feasible to get 20-30 rodeo-kills in a single game of Frontier Defense.

Completed training

When you first start the game you will be placed into a 15-minute tutorial. You can quit out of it and jump right into the game, in which case you will then need to select "Training" from the menu in order to earn this achievement.

The achievement will unlock when you destroy all Titans and grunts or die in the last mission on the Training Ground map.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2820/86553-lo.jpg Look Around 10:gsicon:

Snapped the necks of 10 Pilots

When approaching any non-Titan enemy from behind while playing as a Pilot (as opposed to a Titan) you will be prompted on the screen to click :1rs: to execute them. You will need to do this to an enemy Pilot 10 times to unlock this achievement. They do not all need to be in one match or in the same generation.

Boosting Method:

Start a two-player match on an Asian server in Capture the Flag. Run across the map and get behind the other pilot, and then click :1rs: when prompted. The advantage of playing Capture the Flag is that they will respawn near their flag each time instead of spread all over the map. Repeat nine times. If you are having problems finding the other pilot, have them fire their gun once and a large red dot will appear on your minimap to help you locate them.

Non-Boosting Method:

The Attrition or Campaign playlists are the best opportunities to earn this achievement. While playing, keep an eye on your minimap for large red dots (these indicate Pilots as opposed to the small red dots which are grunts or Spectres). Many Pilots snipe at players from windows, so when you see one in a building try to get inside and go up the stairs to hopefully approach the enemy Pilot from behind. Note that your Pilot makes noise when walking, and much more noise when running, so depending on the enemies sound settings and level of awareness, they may hear you. There is a stealth kit you can equip that reduces the amount of noise from your footsteps that may help if you find yourself struggling with this achievement.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2820/86554-lo.jpg All The Hardware 50:gsicon:

Unlocked everything

To unlock all of the hardware means that every kit item is unlocked, every Pilot weapon and all of their attachments are unlocked, all Titan chassis, weapons and equipment are unlocked, and all ten Titan voices in the Black Market are purchased. You will need to be level 49 or 50 as some equipment is not available until you reach level 49.

Because you lose all of your unlocked hardware each time you regen, all of the unlocking has to be done in one generation. There are three times when it makes sense to work on this achievement, as detailed below. Note that you do NOT lose purchased Titan voices when you regen. Your first 200,000 earned Black Market credits should go towards purchasing all of the voices, regardless of the generation used to unlock this achievement.

Glitch warning:

Many people have reported that this achievement does not unlock immediately after completing all of the requirements. Completing any one weapon challenge will trigger it to unlock if you experience this glitch. If it does not, go through all of the weapons and Titan weapons and look for unlocked weapon modifiers as you likely will have missed one.

Generation 8:

You need to get 100 wins to move from Generation 8 to Generation 9, so even boosting this will take quite some time. From an efficiency perspective, using this generation to unlock All The Hardware makes the most sense as you will have absolutely earned the 200,000 Black Market credits required to purchase all ten Titan voices.

Generation 10:

You will be done with most of the game and just mopping up what you have left, so if this achievement is one of the items that needs to be mopped up, at this point you won't regen again, so you won't lose any progress.

Generation 1:

This is the least ideal of the three from an efficiency perspective, but has the advantage that it will force you to play a variety of game modes and use every weapon in the game, so it works as a super-extended tutorial. The downside is that you will almost certainly hit level 50 and have all of the necessary weapon challenges completed long before you have enough Black Market credits to unlock the Titan voices. This means you will sit at Generation 1 Level 50 for many games while accumulating credits. The game does give you extra credits when you are Level 50, but it can still take 10+ hours after you are done leveling up.

List of Items to Unlock:

Titan Chassis: The Ogre and Stryder chassis will unlock as you level up. Once unlocked, they will remain unlocked even when you regen. You will need to drop in at least once in each chassis for the game to recognize that you have unlocked them.

Titan OS Voices: These require 200,000 Black Market credits to acquire. From the menu choose Black Market -> Titan OS Voices. There are ten voices to purchase, and they will remain unlocked even when you regen.

The best game mode for most kill types is Frontier Defense. You can start a game solo using the Frontier Defense -> Custom Map -> Fracture which will give you unfettered access to essentially unlimited grunts and Spectres. Titan kills are best done in a public Frontier Defense game, although they can also be earned in Last Titan Standing if you find yourself struggling in Frontier Defense. Pilot kills are easily boosted in Capture the Flag games or can be earned without boosting in the Campaign and Attrition playlists.

Progress toward each unlocked item can be viewed on the screen where you would equip it if the item was unlocked. The achievement itself will unlock in-game when the last item unlocks, or the last voice is purchased, although note the glitch warning above.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2820/86555-lo.jpg Vortex Volley 15:gsicon:

Caught a projectile shot from a vortex with your own vortex

The vortex is a Titan Tactical Ability that lets you catch and then hurl back projectiles shot at you by an opponent. To unlock this achievement you will need to be in a position where an enemy has the vortex equipped and active. Shoot at them with any projectile weapon and then activate your vortex shield. If the enemy shoots your projectiles back at you and your vortex shield intercepts them, the achievement will unlock.

All of the preset Titans have the Vortex Shield equipped, so this achievement can be earned very early in the game if desired and circumstances are met.

Boosting Method:

Start a two-player Last Titan Standing game where both players have the Vortex Shield and the XO-16 Chaingun equipped on their Titan. Face each other while player one activates their Vortex Shield via holding :lbbut: and player two fires at them using :rtbut:. This achievement only requires one bullet to be recaptured, so after a short burst player two should activate their own Vortex Shield, after which player one needs to release :lbbut: to hurl the captured projectiles back at the original Titan.

Non-Boosting Method:

This will likely be easiest in Frontier Defense due to the number of Titans that use the Vortex Shield in that game mode. Ensure that your Titan has the Vortex Shield as the tactical ability and any primary weapon other than the Arc Cannon. The XO-16 Chaingun or the 40MM Cannon are likely the easiest to accomplish this with. Once you have a Titan active in the game, start hunting enemy Titans. You are more likely to have them hurl projectiles back at you if you are close to them, so get in front of their path and start shooting. Once a Titan activates their Vortex Shield and captures some of your projectiles, activate yours and wait.

The achievement unlocks in-game shortly after the requirements have been met.

For this achievement, you need to play 50 games in the Campaign playlist. If you exit the game or lose connection to the server before returning to the lobby, the match will not count toward this achievement.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2820/86557-lo.jpg I Killed Them All 25:gsicon:

Killed all pilots during the evacuation single-handedly

This achievement requires that you win a match where the opponent has an opportunity to evacuate, and then personally kill all of the opposing team before they can exit the map. This is very easy to boost, but can be challenging to accomplish in a public match.

Boosting Method:

Start a two player Capture the Flag game on an empty server and have player one capture all six flags to end the match. Simply go kill player two in the 40 or so seconds after the last flag capture to stop the evacuation and unlock the achievement.

Non-Boosting Method:

You are more likely to be successful in a game with fewer players, so the easiest way to get this without boosting is to go disrupt people who are boosting on the Asian servers since many of those games are 1x1 or 2x2. Join a match in progress and if you can win, then you will need to hunt down the losing players and kill them. Alternately, you can earn it in the Campaign, Attrition, or Hardpoint playlists by killing all of the evacuating Pilots yourself. You can kill them before they reach the evacuation ship by normal means, or kill them in the ship by blowing it up. If your team blows up the ship, damage you do has to inflict the final piece that pushes it to destruction or you will get an assist for any Pilots in the ship which is not good enough for this achievement. This is likely the hardest single achievement to earn without boosting.

Wallran for 5 kilometers

One of the key mechanics of Titanfall is the emphasis on parkour and verticality. Your Pilot is equipped with a jump kit that enables higher, longer and faster jumps than ordinary people, but it can also be used to enable you to run along a vertical surface for a limited time. In practice, this is a great way to move even faster through maps as the jump kit boosts your speed up to hold you on the wall. As such, a good practice is to wall run at every opportunity, and doing so will unlock this achievement quite early in the game.

This metric is tracked both within each single generation for challenge purposes, and across all generations for the point of this achievement. You can track your progress by choosing Personal Stats -> Distance in the game.

Grunt, Spectre, Enemy, and Titan kills are often most efficiently completed in Frontier Defense games. Fracture in particular is a good map to use to farm grunts and Spectres in a single player custom Frontier Defense game. Note that Suicide Spectres and Sniper Spectres do not count as Spectre kills.

For Pilot kills, either boost in a Capture the Flag match where it is reasonable to get 30-40 kills in a single match, or play busy playlists such as Campaign and Attrition and focus on targeting enemy Pilots.

Critical hits are hits on Titans with certain weapons after their shield is down where the Titan glows red. Best done in Frontier Defense, although this can be boosted in Last Titan Standing if needed or desired.

To kill ejecting Pilots, see the strategy for the achievements Pull! and Pull Harder!.

For Rodeo kills, see the strategy detailed for the Ride 'Em Cowboy achievement.

For executions, you must be in a Titan and melee an enemy Titan after it has been doomed but before the enemy Pilot ejects or detonates their Titan. Frontier Defense as well as both the Campaign and Attrition playlists are good opportunities to progress on these challenges.

For Titanfall kills, see the strategy detailed for the Death From Above achievement.

For MVPs, see the strategy detailed for the Best In Class achievement.

For Cloak kills, equip the tactical ability cloak and/or use Burn Cards that enhance the cloaking function, and then get kills as normal. Ordnance and melee attacks do not cancel the cloaking effect, so use those to the best of your ability. When using firearms, the Smart Pistol is ideal because it can pop off 4-5 headshots before your cloak is disabled.

For kills after ejecting, equip your Titan with the Nuclear Ejection in the Tier 1 Kit slot, and play Frontier Defense. Get a swarm of grunts and/or Spectres around you and then eject by pressing :1dup: followed by :1xbut: three times. This can be easily completed on Fracture in Frontier Defense if you defeat about 75% of the first wave and then let them destroy the Harvester. When you restart, you will have Titan available and you can wait until there are 20 or so enemies around you before detonating. This approach will let you kill 30-50 enemies after ejecting before failing the mission, at which point you simply restart.

Note the related missable achievement Too Legit To Quit in the fourth DLC as well.

Killed 1000 AI soldiers

All enemies that are not human-controlled count toward this achievement, including grunts, Spectres, Sniper Spectres, Suicide Spectres, and the various Titans. This should come naturally while playing the game. If for some reason it does not, it can be easily worked on by equipping a Pilot with Smart Pistol and playing the Fracture map on Frontier Defense where wave one will net a quick 50 kills, repeating as necessary.

This will unlock naturally and quite early in the game. If you wish to work on it deliberately, simply play Last Titan Standing where you will call in your Titan a minimum for four times per match.

Win a match on Swampland

You need to win a single match on Swampland, of any game type. Note that since you cannot pick your map except in Frontier Defense (which can be challenging to win without a good team) you will need for the map to show up in rotation. Playing a single game type without leaving the lobby will ensure that all maps show up in a random but repeating cycle. This may take 3-4 hours, but is the only way to guarantee that you will play on this map in the chosen game mode.

Play every game mode on Swampland

You need to play on Swampland at least once in each of the primary five game modes: Attrition, Capture the Flag, Hardpoint, Pilot Hunter, and Last Titan Standing. Note that you do not need to win, simply finish a match. Except in Last Titan Standing, your opponent can quit out and it will still count for a game completed (and a win). Note that since you cannot pick your map you will need for the map to show up in rotation. Playing a single game type without leaving the lobby will ensure that all maps show up in a random but repeating cycle. This may take 3-4 hours, but is the only way to guarantee that you will play on this map in the chosen game mode.

You can track your progress by choosing Personal Stats -> Levels and finding this map in the list. The middle column tracks games played by type so you can identify which game modes are still needed for any given map.

Don't touch the ground for 60 seconds on Swampland

This is made easier if you equip the Parkour kit on your Pilot, but can be done without it.

This can be done in any game mode, but since you cannot choose the map you will need to wait for Swampland to come up in a rotation and then remember to do so (and survive long enough as well).

You can also start a custom match in Frontier Defense on Swampland and start with or without public players.

Find two trees that are within easy jumping distance of each other and get a few jumps up and then hold on by holding down :ltbut:. While holding, aim towards the center of the other tree and when you start to slip, immediately jump towards that tree and hold on again. Repeat until the achievement unlocks.

You can also start a custom match in Frontier Defense on Swampland and start with or without public players.

This achievement requires that you are airborne for a cumulative 500 meters while on Swampland. It does not have to be in one game or one generation. Jumping, wall-running, being airborne from Titan ejecting, and using the zip lines all contribute to the achievement. It will unlock at the end of the match when you have reached 500 meters.

Start a game in any mode where you are on Runoff and look for grunts on the upper level. Wall run in their direction and kill away until you reach 25. This is cumulative and does not need to be done in one match or the same generation. The achievement will unlock at the end of the match in which you obtain your 25th kill.

Kill 12 Pilots in a single match on War Games

This achievement requires that you kill 12 enemy pilots in a single match while on the War Games map. Note the achievement Super Faded which will progress as well while you are working toward this achievement.

Boosting Method:

Start a two-player Capture the Flag match on an Asian server and wait for War Games to be the map in use. When it is, have player one stay near the enemy flag and get kills, while player two spawns and runs back to their flag repeatedly. With two active players it is possible to get 40+ Pilot kills in one match.

Non-Boosting Method:

The best approach is to stay in either an Attrition, Hardpoint, or Capture the Flag playlist until War Games is the map in use. At that point, focus purely on Pilot kills rather than anything else that contributes toward winning the game. Using a suppressed weapon may increase your ability to get Pilot kills without being killed yourself.

The achievement will unlock at the end of the match in which you have met the criteria.

For executions, you must be in a Titan and melee an enemy Titan after it has been doomed but before the enemy Pilot ejects or detonates their Titan. The easiest approach is to take your Titan and face off with a Spectre or grunt and activate your AMPed Vortex Shield. It can also be easily boosted with a second player.

The achievement will unlock at the end of the match in which you have met the criteria.

Killed 2 Titans as a Pilot in a single match on Sandtrap

You need to kill two Titans while afoot as a Pilot on the Sandtrap map, in one match. Frontier Defense is the easy method, although it can be done in any game type. The achievement unlocks at the end of the match in which you have met the criteria.

Won a match on Zone 18

You need to win a single match on Zone 18, of any game type.

Played every game mode on Zone 18

You need to play on Zone 18 at least once in each of the primary five game modes: Attrition, Capture the Flag, Hardpoint, Pilot Hunter, and Last Titan Standing.

Killed 10 Pilots while stim was active on Zone 18

Stim is a Tactical Ability that essentially lets your Pilot move faster when activated. For this achievement you need to kill ten Pilots while on Zone 18 during the times when Stim is actively providing you data. This achievement is cumulative across all game modes, matches and generations.

Boosting Method:

Start a two-player Capture the Flag match on an Asian server and wait for Zone 18 to be the map in use. Ensure that the Pilot loadout you choose has Stim as the Tactical Ability. When Zone 18 is the active map, have player one stay near the enemy flag and activate their Tactical Ability and get kills, while player two spawns and runs back to their flag repeatedly. With two active players it is possible to get 20-30 Pilot kills in one match while Stim is active.

Non-Boosting Method:

The best approach is to stay in either an Attrition, Hardpoint, or Capture the Flag playlist until Zone 18 is the map in use. Ensure that the Pilot loadout you choose has Stim as the Tactical Ability. When Zone 18 is the active map, focus purely on Pilot kills rather than anything else that contributes toward winning the game. Using a suppressed weapon may increase your ability to get Pilot kills without being killed yourself. Remember to activate your Tactical Ability prior to any kill!

The achievement will unlock at the end of the match in which you have met the criteria.

Killed 10 Pilots as a Titan in a single match on Zone 18

This achievement requires that you kill ten Pilots as a Titan in one match while on Zone 18. It is very easy to obtain boosting, but may be quite challenging without boosting.

Boosting Method:

Start a two-player Capture the Flag match on an Asian server and wait for Zone 18 to be the map in use. When Zone 18 is the active map, have player one spawn a Titan and then stay near the enemy flag to get kills, while player two spawns and runs back to their flag repeatedly. With two active players it is possible to get 20-30 Pilot kills from a Titan in one match.

Non-Boosting Method:

The best approach is to stay in either an Attrition, Hardpoint, or Capture the Flag playlist until Zone 18 is the map in use. When Zone 18 is the active map, spawn a Titan and focus purely on Pilot kills rather than anything else that contributes toward winning the game. Triple Threat is a good anti-Pilot weapon to use, as well as the Electric Fog and Cluster Missile. Firing the Triple Threat across the map somewhat randomly may help get a lucky kill if you have no targets nearby.

The achievement will unlock at the end of the match in which you have met the criteria.

Earn 500,000 Black Market Credits

You need to earn 500,000 Black Market Credits post the release date of Title Update #8, which was at the end of October, 2014. You do not need to have 500,000 stored up, merely have earned them along the way.

Black Market Credits are earned by completing certain challenges, winning games, completing games, discarding unwanted Burn Cards, and when at Level 50, a portion of your total XP earned in every match is also converted to Black Market Credits.

This achievement will unlock naturally along your journey to Gen 10, so there is no need to focus on any particular activity to expedite the unlocking of this achievement.

You will need to purchase 10 Titan OS Voices for The Voices Are In My Head, which leaves 90 other items to purchase. Any 100 items will suffice, but please read the disclaimer associated with the Too Legit To Quit achievement before going crazy.

There are ten Titan OS Voice Packs found in the Black Market, and they will cost a total of 200,000 Black Market Credits. Note that these are required to unlock All The Hardware. Complete 100 Daily Challenges

Every day there are three Daily Challenges that require you to complete some action in the game, ranging from playing a particular game mode X number of times, to killing flyers (the big dinosaur looking creatures flying around some maps), to using a particular weapon in a particular way, etc.

The Daily Challenges are found in the menu by choosing Challenges -> Daily.

You only can access the Daily Challenges on days that you sign in, where a day is a 24-hour period that starts at 3am PT (11am GMT). You can have up to 9 Daily Challenges active at any given time, so you don't necessarily need to complete them all on the day they come out. See For We Are Today for a related achievement however.

This achievement is tracked across all generations, and requires at a minimum 34 days to complete.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2820/94465-lo.jpg Two's Good, but I Want Three 30:gsicon:

Earn at least 2 stars on 15 different maps in Frontier Defense

There are 24 maps available, and this achievement requires that you earn at least 2 stars on any 15 of them in the Frontier Defense game mode. They are all possible to get three stars on, although that does take exceptional teamwork, communication, and skill. Two stars is quite achievable for anyone as three solid players can carry a fourth player who is perhaps not so good.

Frontier Defense is a horde-type game mode where up to four players work together to defend a central point (called a Harvester) from multiple waves of AI-controlled enemies. You have infinite respawns for your Pilot, but the Harvester has only three lives and the game will be lost if it is destroyed a third time.

Stars are awarded based on total points earned, which are awarded primarily on Harvester health at the end of each round, modified by the number of respawns you have left. To get two stars, you definitely need to survive all of the waves and usually need to have at least one Harvester respawn left, although if your Harvester health is 90% or above you may be able to get two stars with no respawns left.

The game mode can be played solo, but it is essentially impossible to win without 3-4 good players. If you don't have a solid team, you can open the game to random players and hope for the best.

Initially you do not have access to create custom games, but after you have played 3-4 random games you can - and should - create custom games so that you can focus only on maps where you don't yet have two stars. Choose Frontier Defense -> Custom Game and choose the map option at the top of the screen (it defaults to Fracture). The number of stars obtained will show in the map image on the right half of the screen. Scroll down until you find a map where you do not yet have two stars, and set the "Open to Public" option to "Yes" (which is the default), then press Launch.

You can invite in friends if you have a good team to work with. It is highly recommended that you use a mic and coordinate with the other players to have the best chance of winning. Especially on waves where there are mortars hanging back in the outskirts as well as forces charging the Harvester, you will absolutely need to split up duties and stay in communication.

The achievement will unlock at the score screen after your fifteenth map has 2 stars or more.

Rename a custom loadout

At level 5 in each generation you have the ability to create custom Pilot loadouts. The bottom option when doing so is to give it a customized name. This achievement will unlock after successfully editing that field with any value.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/2820/94467-lo.jpg That’s Quite a Collection 40:gsicon:

Unlock 50 Titan Insignias

This will unlock naturally as you progress toward Gen 10. There are over 100 Titan Insignias available in the game, including 10 you can purchase in the Black Market, and they are awarded for the same actions as many of the achievements, for each generation, etc.

It is highly unlikely you can get to Gen 10 without this achievement unlocking, but if you do, you can look at your unlocked Insignias and work toward ones that interest you. Go to a custom Titan loadout and choose Titan Insignia near the bottom to see all locked and unlocked insignia, along with what is required to unlock any locked ones.

Use 5 Titan Burncards

Titan Burn Cards are ones which modify Titans such as amped weapons. It does not count Burn Cards that apply both to Pilots and Titans such as Titan Salvage. Note the achievement Overkill specifically requires the use of Titan Burn Cards.

This achievement tracks across all game modes, maps, and generations. It will unlock at the end of the match after you have used your fifth Titan Burn Card.

Earn 3 stars for a single map and mode

To earn 3 stars in a given mode, you need to meet specific criteria as detailed below. Capture the Flag can be easily boosted, while earning 3 stars without boosting is highly dependent upon your skill and the lack of skill of your opponent. Choose a game mode you are comfortable in and stick with it until you unlock the achievement.

Pilot Hunter - 20 Pilot kills

Hardpoint - 2500 points

Attrition - 150 points

Capture the Flag - 3 captures

Last Titan Standing - 8 Titans doomed

Marked for Death - 7 Targets killed

Frontier Defense - Points vary, but generally requires little damage to the Harvester and one or more Harvester respawns unused. You can see the points required for any given map by choosing Personal Stats -> Levels -> :1ybut:

The achievement will unlock after you return to the lobby when you first earn three stars.

Earn a total of 50 Stars

You can earn up to three stars in each of seven game modes on each of the 24 maps. This will unlock without any particular attention, but you can see your progress on each map by going to Personal Stats -> Levels -> :1ybut:.

The achievement app also tracks progress on this app, with each 2% progress representing one star.

Achieve a 5 game win streak

Without boosting, this may be quite challenging. With boosting, it is simplistic. See I'm On Fire for the same achievement but with a 10 game streak required.

Boosting Method:

Create a two-player Pilot Hunter game on an Asian server, and have player two quit out and then rejoin the lobby after the Victory screen is displayed. After player two quits for the fifth time, player one will unlock the achievement.

Non-Boosting Method:

Get a good team together and use your mics to communicate. Stay in one playlist and focus on the game type criteria. I.e, if you are playing Hardpoint, points are not typically awarded for killing grunts in the middle of the map, so don't waste your time. It helps significantly if you are a high level so that you have a broad selection of equipment to choose from, and powerful Burn Cards to use help as well (such as spawning a Titan right at the beginning of the match).

Achieve a 10 game win streak

Without boosting, this may be the second hardest achievement in the game, second only to I Killed Them All. With boosting, it is quite simple.

Boosting Method:

Create a two-player Pilot Hunter game on an Asian server, and have player two quit out and then rejoin the lobby after the Victory screen is displayed. After player two quits for the tenth time, player one will unlock the achievement.

Play a ranked match

Once you reach level 32 in Gen 1, you will receive a notice at the bottom of the left hand menu that you have a message. When you read the message, it unlocks the ability to use your rank chip. This does not change game play in any way other than providing an extra reward (Battlemarks) for good performance in matches with at least three other players also with active rank chips. When you play your first match that has at least three other players with active rank chips throughout the match, you will unlock this achievement.

Earn 50 Battlemarks in Ranked Play

Once you reach level 32 in Gen 1, you will receive a notice at the bottom of the left hand menu that you have a message. When you read the message, it unlocks the ability to use your rank chip. This does not change game play in any way other than providing an extra reward (Battlemarks) for good performance in matches with at least three other players also with active rank chips. When you play games with three or more other players with active rank chips, you will earn Battlemarks for performing actions that positively contribute to your team score, and potentially lose Battlemarks for not contributing and dying.

Every month starts a new season, and a portion of your Battlemarks are removed. The requirement of earning 50 Battlemarks is a cumulative total, so even if you lose some from poor performance or the start of a new season, this achievement will unlock after your 50th Battlemark earned. You do not need to have 50 Battlemarks at any given time to unlock this achievement.

Yhe Campaign and Attrition playlists are the best places to find other players with active rank chips.

Earn Gen 10 without using a Forged Certification on a regen challenge

THIS IS A MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENT!!!!!

In the Black Market, one of the options is Forged Certifications. If you purchase this, it lets you mark a Level V challenge as complete. You don't get the various rewards such as Black Market Credits, Burn Cards, etc., from the challenge completion, but you do get access to any equipment unlocked as well as marking it completed if it is require to advance to the next generation.

If you purchase a Forged Certification and use it for a challenge required to advance to the next generation, this achievement becomes forever unobtainable. Play it safe and avoid that menu option in the Black Market entirely.

Once you are level 10 you no longer need to worry about it as it will unlock simultaneously as the Gen 10 achievement.
