The Pants Party
Before starting your game, check out the Road Map on the main site for the proper order of playing so as not to miss any achievements. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/eternal-sonata/guide/ This guide is now complete! Huge thanks to Ray5555 on the forums here and Kiryn Silverwing on Gamefaqs. Note #1: The game will REQUIRE two plays. Some of the musical scores are not available until the second play, and some of the side-quests are also not available until the second play. It's not a quick 1000, but it's also not a very hard 1000. The second play through you get to keep your Party Level (but not character level), your Score Pieces, and the Hero's Crest. However, enemies will have 2x health and 1.5x attack/defense, so getting as much as you can in the first play will make your second play easier and shorter. Note #2: All of the "Party Level" and "Chapter" achievements unlock once you are back in control of your party. There are a lot of cinematics in this game, so you might go through 2-3 before the achievements actually unlock. These achievements can not be missed, unless stated otherwise. http://tiles.xbox.com/tiles/eu/Xc/0ICLiGJhbC9FFQRqXCdRGEU0L2FjaC8wLzEAAAAA5+fn--PlYQ==.jpgUnlocked Party Level 2 Party Level 2 can now be selected. 10 http://live.xbox.com/xweb/lib/images/G_Icon_External.gif This is unlocked by defeating the Forest Boar in Heaven's Mirror Forest. http://tiles.xbox.com/tiles/eu/Xc/0ICLiGJhbC9FFQRqXCdRGEU0L2FjaC8wLzEAAAAA5+fn--PlYQ==.jpgRaindrops Chapter 1 Raindrops has been completed. 10 http://live.xbox.com/xweb/lib/images/G_Icon_External.gif This is unlocked by defeating the Ogre Champ in Agogo Village. http://tiles.xbox.com/tiles/eu/Xc/0ICLiGJhbC9FFQRqXCdRGEU0L2FjaC8wLzEAAAAA5+fn--PlYQ==.jpgUnlocked Party Level 3 Party Level 3 can now be selected.10 http://live.xbox.com/xweb/lib/images/G_Icon_External.gif This is unlocked by defeating the Killer Knight in Fort Fermata. http://tiles.xbox.com/tiles/eu/Xc/0ICLiGJhbC9FFQRqXCdRGEU0L2FjaC8wLzEAAAAA5+fn--PlYQ==.jpgRevolution Chapter 2 Revolution has been completed.10 http://live.xbox.com/xweb/lib/images/G_Icon_External.gif This is unlocked by defeating Tuba on the Cabasa Bridge outside Fort Fermata. http://tiles.xbox.com/tiles/eu/Xc/0ICLiGJhbC9FFQRqXCdRGEU0L2FjaC8wLzEAAAAA5+fn--PlYQ==.jpgFantaisie-Impromptu Chapter 3 Fantaisie-Impromptu has been completed.10 http://live.xbox.com/xweb/lib/images/G_Icon_External.gif This is unlocked by defeating the Death Crow in the cemetary. http://tiles.xbox.com/tiles/eu/Xc/0ICLiGJhbC9FFQRqXCdRGEU0L2FjaC8wLzEAAAAA5+fn--PlYQ==.jpgGrande Valse Brilliante Chapter 4 Grande Valse Brilliante has been completed.10 http://live.xbox.com/xweb/lib/images/G_Icon_External.gif This is unlocked by defeating Fugue outside of Agogo Village after passing through the Wah Lava Cave. http://tiles.xbox.com/tiles/eu/Xc/0ICLiGJhbC9FFQRqXCdRGEU0L2FjaC8wLzEAAAAA5+fn--PlYQ==.jpgUnlocked Party Level 4 Party Level 4 can now be selected.10 http://live.xbox.com/xweb/lib/images/G_Icon_External.gif This is unlocked at the same time as "Grande Vlase Billiante" http://tiles.xbox.com/tiles/eu/Xc/0ICLiGJhbC9FFQRqXCdRGEU0L2FjaC8wLzEAAAAA5+fn--PlYQ==.jpgNocturne Chapter 5 Nocturne has been completed.10 http://live.xbox.com/xweb/lib/images/G_Icon_External.gif This is unlocked by defeating Rondo in the Aria Temple. http://tiles.xbox.com/tiles/eu/Xc/0ICLiGJhbC9FFQRqXCdRGEU0L2FjaC8wLzEAAAAA5+fn--PlYQ==.jpgTristesse Chapter 6 Tristesse has been completed.10 http://live.xbox.com/xweb/lib/images/G_Icon_External.gif This is unlocked by defeating Waltz after passing through Mt. The Pants Party
Note #4: The following achievements must be done/finished on your second playthrough. You should begin collecting score pieces on your first play since they carry over, but the remaining few are on the second play. http://tiles.xbox.com/tiles/eu/Xc/0ICLiGJhbC9FFQRqXCdRGEU0L2FjaC8wLzEAAAAA5+fn--PlYQ==.jpg Pirates' Treasure The mystery behind the the pirates' treasure has been solved and the treasure has been acquired. 80 http://live.xbox.com/xweb/lib/images/G_Icon_External.gif For this achievement, you must do these steps. Note that step 3 can be done twice, but the first play you will only get an item, not the Pirate Paper you need. Pirate's Paper 1: Defeat Dolce on her pirate ship. It's impossible to miss because the story progresses through it. Pirate's Paper 2: Defeat Dolce in Wah Lava Cave. In the "middle 3" section there is a flower that has a red dragon in front of it. Kill him and examine the small X on the ground to trigger a fight. Pirate's Paper 3 (encore only): Examine the six pillars in the catacombs under the church in Ritardando, then go talk to the employee who is slacking off in the wine cellar of the inn of Baroque. When prompted with a choice say Dolce's skin is looking saggy and she will appear. Treasure & achievement: Return to Woodblock Grove (the poisoned woods) and in the South Center section where you have to go left on a hard to see path there is a small device/sign. Input 3214 when prompted for the code and Dolce will appear for the final fight. http://tiles.xbox.com/tiles/eu/Xc/0ICLiGJhbC9FFQRqXCdRGEU0L2FjaC8wLzEAAAAA5+fn--PlYQ==.jpg Soul Released The soul of Chord, the first mineral powder test subject, has been released. 79 http://live.xbox.com/xweb/lib/images/G_Icon_External.gif To get this, after you fight Rondo for the first time and get the Heart Pendant, return to Fort Fermata and find the locked door. Open it and give the pendant to Chord. You must have talked to the man in the cave off the beach in Ritardando and the Former Servant in the east alley of Baroque City before doing this. Make sure you don't have it equipped or he won't talk to you. http://tiles.xbox.com/tiles/eu/Xc/0ICLiGJhbC9FFQRqXCdRGEU0L2FjaC8wLzEAAAAA5+fn--PlYQ==.jpg Xylophone's Treasure The hidden treasure in the secret room on the top floor of Xylophone Tower has been acquired. 80 http://live.xbox.com/xweb/lib/images/G_Icon_External.gif To get this, you need to follow a trading sequence started by the previous achievement. Once you get the orb, head to Xylophone Tower to open the door at the back of the top floor. Here are the trading locations: Fort Fermata (Chord): Heart Pendant for the Pot Tenuto Village (east house): Pot for the Goat Stew Chorus Plains (Goat Herder): Goat Stew for the Coupon Hanon hills (Merchant): Coupon for the Honey Baroque Castle (Researcher): Honey to the researcher who sends you to get Agogo Droppings Agogo Village (Boy): 20 photos of 20 different beasts for the Agogo Droppings. Play Score Piece 19 with Disappointed Note at Cabasa Bridge (north side) Note #5: If you have missed any score pieces from the list above, then the numbers I am using below will not be correct. The score pieces are not numbered in the game (you just have to count from top to bottom), so I would suggest following that guide above closely so you can work on these at the same time. http://tiles.xbox.com/tiles/eu/Xc/0ICLiGJhbC9FFQRqXCdRGEU0L2FjaC8wLzEAAAAA5+fn--PlYQ==.jpg EZI Worshipper All the items related to EZI have been collected. 321 http://live.xbox.com/xweb/lib/images/G_Icon_External.gif To get all but one of the EZI items, you need to play score pieces for people. Most of these are done by backtracking with the teleporter that is available in Chapter 6 Here is the list: Note #6: Your EZI items disappear going to your second play, so don't even worry about them until then. Chapter 1 None Chapter 2 EZI Cracker - Play Score Piece 2 for the Gentlemanly Pop in the square of Forte City. EZI Certificate - Play Score Piece 5 with Wiseman Maracas in the Glissando Cliffs. Houseplant
I better guide on the EZI would be really helpful since I want to get most of the achievements on this for this game before Halo 3. Also, a link to the original guide would be pretty cool also.
Pinworm45
Thanks a lot for this. I ended up getting the strategy guide, and it's just confusing as hell. It didn't seperate the first playthough from the second, so it's been telling me all these score pieces are all over the place when they arn't.. wasted hours spamming A in so many areas.. This clears it up. I just KNOW I'm going to end up missing something or messing one up so I won't bother though, I don't think. If I do, I'll attempt to get everything on the second playthough, and this will help a lot. Thanks
graf1k
Quick question about the sheet music for anyone that knows. Say you pick them up out of order (i.e. you pick up #4 before #3) and then you pick up #3 later, does the game put them in the proper order in your inventory or in the order you pick them up? I'm just curious because I just got to Chapter 5 today and am missing a good portion of the music and I'm just curious if I should give up on the ones I missed this play through. The Pants Party
Good questions, Graf.. I think it will order them, but I have got them all in order, so I can't be sure. Maybe Kaens knows, he should be lurking around here somewhere...
psincubus
I am trying to get score piece 20 in Baroque City Chapter 5. When I go to the wine cellar, the guy there says the same stuff he did earlier, and no option to start a fight. Is there something that needs to be done first? or is it possible this actually doesnt occur til chapter 6? help please!
The Pants Party
Score Piece 20 can only be received by selecting the third option from him, which should start a fight with that pirate lady from before whose name I can't remember. After the fight that guy is gone and you can search the barrels. I don't think you can do that fight unless you've fought her in the Wah Lava Cave though, so you might need to do that on your second play, because I'm not sure you can backtrack to that spot. Petey247
Is there any reason to try and get any of the non-story achievements in the first play through?
The Pants Party
Absolutely! The second playthrough the enemies have 2x health and 1.5 att/def ratings, so it is a bit harder. I would suggest getting everything possible in the first play.
Houseplant
Does anyone happen to know how many EZI pieces there are total?
The Pants Party
21, I'm working on them all. That post by Ray5555 has them all, but they don't have locations or anything. I edited his post with numbers to say what play you'll find them in.

The Pants Party
Well, I'm on Chapter 6 and I have eight so far. There might be a few more, I'll keep updating the list when I find something. Edit: Just found my ninth one at the beginning of Chapter 7.
Houseplant
I didn't want to make a new thread so I'll ask here.... What is Burst and what does it do? armysoldier13
Say I miss some score pieces and EZI's on my first play through. Will they still be there on the second playthrough?
The Pants Party
Houseplant, I updated the guide, that one is in Chapter 7. I got nine EZI items on my first play (finally finished tonight), so I'm assuming that's all you can get unless I missed something... I also don't remember anything called Burst. army, everything will still be there the second go, you don't have to worry about missing anything. (Welcome to the site, by the way!) psincubus
do you keep EZI items from the first to the second playthrough?
The Pants Party
Yes, score pieces and EZI items are all kept, as well as a few "valuable" items like the Hero's Crest and Heart Pendant, maybe some others.
Houseplant
Well I think Burst is a status effect that is acquired from accessories and weapons, but IDK what it does.

DarqStalker
Nice guide Pants. I've been following this thread past few days and it's looking great. What we need is a good EZI guide, showing what towns to go to, what number score to use and the npc to use it at. The EZI guide listed so far is not bad, but still should have a little bit more info, it's sorta hard to understand. Thanks, keep up the great work. Edit: Also, for the EZI achievmeent, do you need to have all the EZI in your inventory for it to complete? Or do you just need to acquire it, but can use it or sell it and still get the achievement?
