Noobs Guide to BC Online

Recommended Posts

This is just a short guide for people that may be new to BC or just don't understand how to play.

I tried to keep it short and sweet =]

*Due to the positive responses, i have made this a work in progress and will keep adding information*

*Knife Guide & Dog Tag guide completed!*

Feel free to give me a topic, and i'll write a section on it!

Noobs Guide to BC Online

Those Crate Thingys

These are called Gold Crates, as if you have played the storyline, you understand that it revolves around gold. This carries over to Online where the objective is to destroy the crates if you on the Attacker team, and defend the crates if you are on Defenders.

Damaging the Crates

The way in which you learn to damage these crates straight off is to run up to them, hold B and plant a charge. There are many other ways to damage and destroy the crates. Mortar Strikes, Laser Designator Missile, Tank main gun, Grenades (both types), RPG's, C4's, A/T Mines and it doesn't stop there. They are all ways of damaging the crate. If you do enough damage, you get +10 points for doing objective damage. Also, thanks to Mistikal for pointing out the fact that the tanks secondary gun can damage the crate as well.

On quite a few maps, the objectives are actually destroyable from the outskirts of your base. Meaning that you don't even have to go into the action to score some points.

Attackers

The Attacker's job is to destroy the enemy crates however they see fit. But this doesn't mean running blindly into the enemy base and hope to plant the bomb. Attacking takes patience and coordination. Remember what i mentioned above on how to damage the crates, use these to your advantage and don't just rely on planting a charge.

Defenders

If you are defending, your objective is to make the enemy respawns go down to zero before they destroy all of your crates. This is simply done by killing the enemy. Alot of people don't actually understand the meaning of defending something and will just run towards the enemy trying to get kills. If you are defending YOU WILL GET KILLS without having to run towards the enemy. Sitting near the crates and fortifying your position will get you more points then you may first expect.

Class Description & Tips

Assault

Primary Weapon - Assault Rifle - My Weapon of Choice - M16

Secondary Weapon - Rifle Mounted Grenade Launcher

Third Weapon - Frag Grenades

Unlockable Weapon - Health Syringe

Assault is the all rounded class in BC. It is a good beginning class. Its main downside is the fact that you can't defend yourself from enemy vehicles too well. Apart from the rifle mounted grenade launcher on your default assault rifle which can do damage to light enemy vehicles such as jeeps, you have no way of dealing damage to enemy armor.

If you are to use Assault, i recommend that you unlock the Health Syringe so that you can heal yourself just like in the campaign! To some people this may be just as important as the syringe or even more important, the M16. Unlock this gun as soon as possible as it is a very handy weapon to have. It easily stands above all the other Assault weapons that you start with or can unlock.

When playing as assault, don't draw enemy armor attention, or your life will be cut short. Instead, focus on stray enemy infantry and don't forget about the grenade launcher that can damage enemies through walls.

Only heal when your health drops below 70 when in battle. If you are well protected and aren't in the middle of the warzone, then use it whenever you wish.

Demolition

Primary Weapon - Shotgun - My Weapon of Choice - SPAS12

Secondary Weapon - RPG

Third Weapon - Frag Grenades

Unlockable Weapon - Anti Tank Mines

I am a huge fan of this class. It has great power and can deal with enemy armor like no other class. Its downside is its range, but if you know how to use this class, range won't become too much of a factor in the games you play.

The RPG is an excellent offensive and defensive weapon against vehicles. not so useful against infantry though. When using the RPG, remember that vehicles are weaker from the sides and rear, so use this to your advantage.

At first, i kept away from pump action shotguns and stuck to the Find All Five USAS automatic shotgun. Which you may want to do as well, but just recently i discovered how powerful the SPAS12 pump action shotgun is. I highly recommend you unlock and test out this weapon, as it is quite frankly a beast! You may think differently, but this auto shotty has helped me greatly. The Anti Tank mines can be difficult to use efficiently, but they are a one hit kill for enemy tanks. Remember, when you die, the Anti Tank mines disappear after a short amount of time.

Pair this class up with the specialist class and it is the ultimate tank destroying infantry pair for reasons i will explain under the specialist section.

Recon

Primary Weapon - Sniper Rifle - My Weapon of Choice - VSS

Secondary Weapon - Pistol

Third Weapon - Motion Sensor

Unlockable Weapon - Laser Designator

This class , is the Marksman class, and is unmatched in long range warfare. For close range you do have a pistol, but you won't stand much of a chance against an automatic weapon. Snipers on BC have a delay over distance, so if you shoot at someone from across the map, it will take a bit to hit them. Add this with lag, and sniping can become a real difficult task.

If you have absolutely no lag when playing online, you have the option of sticking with the single fire sniper rifles such as the M24 or M95. If you do suffer from lag, i reccomend an autmatic sniper such as the VSS. The extra 2 bullets in its clip can do wonders.

The laser designator is something you must unlock asap if you intend on using this class. It is great for dealing with tanks and even dealing damage to the gold crates.

Honestly, i did not know what the Motion Sensor grenades did until earlier today. By throwing these down, the enemy will actually appear on your mini-map as red dots when they cross it's area of effect. More useful than first expected if you think about it. Place them around the entrances and sides of your base to make sure no one can get by without being noticed.

Specialist

Primary Weapon - Silenced Rifle/SMG - My Weapon of Choice - UMP

Secondary Weapon - Tagger Pistol

Third Weapon - Frag Grenades

Unlockable Weapon - C4

Specialist is my favorite class. Not only does it have one of the most powerful assault weapons in the game, it also has the added extra of not being seen. With specialist, your main weapon is silenced, therefore no annoying red dot giving away your location! A great choice for darker maps where you may be harder to see in the first place.

For this class, unlock the UMP straight away. This awesome weapon is very powerful and has accuracy to boot. Not to mention the silencer that makes it the most useful weapon in the game, which is obviously just my opinion =]

C4 did not appeal to me in this class at first, but i highly recommend that you unlock this after the UMP. C4 does alot of damage to vehicles and also the gold crates. It will not completely destroy a gold crate on full health, but planting all of your C4's on one, and blowing them up will get you around 30 points of objective damage. If the crate is damaged and you manage to get all your C4's on it, you can get around 50 points for destroying the crate! Remember, C4's do disappear after you die, but they stick around for enough time so you can still blow them up when you respawn. Simply throw a C4 on the ground and blow it up, then all your pre-planted C4 from before you died will go boom too.

The tagger gun may look like a cheap bit of plastic you buy for $30 from your local shopping center, but it is actually very useful and gets you tons of assist points. By hitting a vehicle, you enable fellow RPG users to lock on and track that vehicle with their rocket. Meaning, the Rocket Homes in on the tagged vehicle. The tagger will get assist points once the vehicle is destroyed.

Support

Primary Weapon - Heavy Machine Gun - My Weapon of Choice - M60

Secondary Weapon - Health Packs

Third Weapon - Power Tool

Unlockable Weapon - Mortar

Easily the most useful class in the game. Not only do you get a main gun which holds on average 150 bullets per clip, but you also get a repair tool for repairing/damaging friendly/enemy vehicles respectively, but you also get health packs that can be used on yourself or team mates! Did i mention doing these things get you points?

All weapons in this class are great to use, and it is really up to the user to decide on which they would prefer to use. The unlockable Mortar Strike i have found useless, but others live by it. Try it out of course, but don't feel like you have to use it.

The main weapon in the support class can tend to be rather inaccurate, so short controlled bursts are a must for mid to long range confrontations.

General Tips

- If you are on defense, you DON'T have to run towards the attackers! just sit back and let them come to you.

- When you die, you can either respawn at your current base, or at a squadmate. Choose wisely based on your squadmates position and your chosen class.

- If you are attacking, please don't sit back and sniper. Not only does it make your squadmates spawn miles back from the action, killing the enemy does not help. If you are sniping the enemy base, sure you may kill a few, but where do they respawn? Back at the base. It is not helping you destroy the crates.

- ONLY GO SUPPORT IF YOU KNOW HOW TO USE IT! I can't describe how much is annoys me when i am low on health as a specialist, run up to someone that's support, to have them ignore me and run away. If you do go support, remember, you can heal team mates and vehicles! This gets you points too so you have no excuse! Next time someone is standing infront of you looking at you, they are not being annoying, they are obviously wanting help.

- The laser designator IS NOT BROKEN. You have to hold the Right Thumbstick in the direction you want the missile to go for it to work.

- Don't waste helicopters! If you cannot fly one, then don't. When used properly, Helicopters can turn the tide in battle, so please don't waste them. If you need training with the helicopter, start off with the Air Force One campaign mission and then have a shot in unranked games for the real deal.

- Watch your map for the red areas. These areas are bad, stay away from them or you will die.

-When you pull out your knife, you slash with it, so don't press Y while standing behind team mates.

- Watch out for your team mates and make sure you don't throw grenades near them. It is frustrating getting killed by team mates grenades.

- Don't go in vehicles alone! Not only are you transporting more team mates closer to the crates ( If Attacking ) but you also score points for any kills they may get. EA put in assist points for a reason, to stop people being selfish about vehicles, so use team work!

-A/T mines DO NOT explode when infantry walk over them! Allies nor Enemies will set them off by foot, only vehicles. I always see people laying them inside houses and up stair cases. This won't work!

- The power tool damages tanks, use it as if you were healing a team mates vehicle. It can also kill people

- Just because i am in a Humvee, it does not mean i plan on glitching.

- The Artillery is a favorite among fellow online players, i am usually amidst the group of team mates running for the Artillery as soon as we spawn. For those that don't know, it can only aim in a particular area, which is why the screen will go all wavey and wierd. The first shots you make on the artillery can give you the upper hand at the start of a game, for instance, destroying the defenders tanks on Oasis with the first shot and help you out greatly. Aswell as taking out particular turrets or areas that enemies will tend to hang around.

- Don't use a light jeep or Humvee as an assault vehicle. They are fast and agile, but weak. One hit from an enemy tank or RPG and you're gone. Be especially careful if carrying passengers.

- After you pull out the knife, you can use the RT to swing it again. You don't need to put it away.

- To use the mortar strike, you have to point it at something and hold down the RT. Majority of the time, moving will cancel the process.

- Anti Tank mines do not work instantly, they have to be sitting on the ground for a set period of time before they become active. I do not know exactly how long it takes, but if a tank is right beside you, theres no point throwing a mine down.

- Power tools can actually destroy walls! I learnt this today.

- The white Missile Turrets you can use have user-controller missiles. Once you shoot, more the reticule over an enemy and the rocket will change its path.

- If your whole squad is sniping, don't go recon!

- If you spawn on a team mate and they are sniping, they obviously don't want to get seen. Use common courtesy and try and refrain from drawing attention to their hiding spot unless absolutely necessary!

- When looking at awards, IAR means it must be done in a single round, it doesn't carry over.

- Anti Tank mines can be shot at and destroyed. Use this to your advantage, maybe to damage the gold crates?

- Take it easy when leaving the base in a vehicle, it is very easy to run over a team mate.

- If you shoot at an enemy, a red dot will appear above their heads. Use this to your advantage to help keep track of enemies sneaking behind for the flank.

- You can plant more than 1 C4 at a time. After placing your first C4, press X to bring out another. Make sure you bring out the next C4 before you press the RT again. Take your time when planting multiple C4's so you don't blow yourself to hell.

- Hitting your friends with the Tagging Gun may be fun, but please do not do it to a team mate you do not know. it may be amusing to watch a soldier running around glowing like a christmas tree, but there a few drawbacks. 1) The flares are visible to the tagged player, meaning it can impare their vision. 2) This creates a flashing beacon to enemies, making it near impossible to hide. Don't be a knob and do this...I already have way too many of them on my friends list.

- Use the whole map! We are all too used to maps like in Halo 3 where it is all in a set space and looks very artificial. Bad Company brings back the open ended feel like all it's previous games. You can go pretty much where ever you want on these maps, obviously not into the red zones though. Use the terrain to your advantage when advancing or defending. Use the whole width of the map when advancing to sneak behind enemy lines! The amount of times the entire enemy team is in the middle of the map is crazy, leaving your flanking options wide open.

- Respect your fellow players! If they are taking the stealthy approach and sneaking through houses, don't screw up their plan by blowing a whole in a wall with a grenade launcher.

- Rush! If you know your team is going to destroy the last crate, don't be scared of the red area leading to the next crates! Wait on the edge of the restricted area and as soon as it opens up, run for your life for the next crates. Chances are the enemy won't expect it and won't be guarding the crates as thoroughly as they will be soon.

- Use your class appropriately, I.E Recon is not a good choice for attacking a base, just like Assault isn't the best for attacking an enemy tank.

- The maps are destructible for a reason! No longer can enemies hide in houses, safe from rockets and grenades. Shoot those walls and make your own path!

- Grenades are very rarely used online, and i for one don't know why. Land these near gold crates, bounce them through buildings, use them to cut off an enemy infantry assault...the list goes on. These are actually useful people!

- The Tanks Secondary Weapon (Machine Gun) does little to NO damage to enemy tanks. Focus on the most dangerous infantry such as RPG wielding soldiers or enemies getting too close, and let the driver take care of the armored problems.

- It is easier for you to move out of a tanks way, than for him to move out of yours. Be considerate and watch the mini-map for allied vehicles approaching you and make sure to stay clear.

- If you have low health, watch the mini-map for nearby support team mates. Try and stand still so they can heal you, nothing is more annoying than chasing a low health team mate across the battlefield, only to watch him get blown up in front of you.

I Hope this guide has helped you newbies and even you experienced players. Don't be ashamed if this has taught you something, it is why i posted this.

Helicopter Tips

If you aren't good with flying a helicopter then just keep mucking around on the Air Force One mission in the single player campaign. Work out what button does what and how to take off and land.

Once you use a chopper in a multiplayer game, you will realize that the chopper is more responsive to your actions and is a lot harder to control. Again just practice in an unranked game (if possible) and just keep flying around.

Helicopters are very vulnerable in BC, and take a rather decent amount of damage from most weapons, even light machine guns carried by support players.

I can not tell you how to fly the chopper efficiently, it is up to the pilot and how he/she see's fit. Some people would rather stay up high, while others would rather sweep down low and get close and personal. Both have advantages and disadvantages which i will mention in a second.

When piloting a helicopter, remember that a second person can hop in and use the turret underneath the chopper. This gun is very accurate and makes short work of enemy vehicles and infantry. The helicopters main gun is very powerful yes, but they can be hard to aim and sometimes it may be better to sit back and let your secondary gunner take out the troops.

Advantages-

Staying up high: Obviously, this makes you a smaller target and therefore harder to hit. This also allows your secondary gunner to take care of the enemy reasonably well. just remember, the secondary gunner's turret moves with the helicopter, it does not stay stationary, which means that when you change the helicopters direction or pitch, the gunner will have to re-adjust his aim. By staying up high, you can sit reasonably still and let your secondary gunner do the work. You may not get kills, but you will get many assist points.

Staying Low: Staying low and moving quick makes you very difficult to hit with weapons such as tank cannons and rockets, as long as you move fast. Staying low also allows you to use your rockets effectively and do massive damage to whatever you see important. Staying low also makes you harder to hit if you are getting shot at from a distance, for example, an AA gun shooting at you from a distance, will not be able to get a clear shot if you stay low near the ground.

Disadvantages-

Staying High: Staying up high makes it harder for your weapons to hit their mark as the shoot - hit delay is increased. Also, this may leave you open for AA guns to make short work of, also enemy tanks and rockets will fly at your direction and possibly take you out.

Staying Low: When staying low, you are very vulnerable to small arms fire from machine guns and even rockets to a certain extent. Not to mention the environment, which has killed me possibly more times then the enemy while in a helicopter. When flying in the cockpit view, it is very easy to miss slightly taller trees and radio antennas. Also, in levels such as End of The Line, the crane can be a deadly hazard to sky roaming players.

The View

Cockpit or 3rd Person?

Both views are there for a reason, the cockpit view is for combat, while the 3rd person view is for maneuvering. Notice when you are in the 3rd person view, there is no aiming reticule, which makes it near impossible to aim accurately and consistently. But when in this view, you can quite easily see any enemies or objects that may cause hard to your vehicle. Use this view when flying towards or away from the action, or just flying around in general.

The cockpit view is used for the combat situations you are sure to face in a helicopter. This view allows you to see where you are aiming and that's basically it. Apart from the combat advantages, your view is severely limited and controlling your helicopter becomes a bit more of a challenge. Only use this view once you are skilled as a pilot and only then when you are in a combat situation.

General Tips

When you are in a helicopter, you become the center of attention. Make sure you watch out and try and evade incoming fire as much as possible. Once your health starts dropping too low or dropping too consistently, that's your cue to get out of there.

I suggest going support when you are going to fly a chopper, as it gives you the power tool which you can use to repair it when it takes sufficient damage.

When flying a helicopter please remember, the red zones are death zones. You go out there and your dead, so please, watch your mini-map and make sure you steer clear from these areas.

Dog Tags

Dog tags are what you obtain by knifing an enemy, straight and simple. The two achievements for Dog Tag collecting talk about Unique Dog Tags, what are they? Every Bad Company player has a unique dog tag with their gamercard attached. If you knife them, you get their unique dogtag, which adds 1 to the total you need for the achievement. Knifing the same person again will get you a knife kill, but you already have their dog tag, so nothing is put towards the achievement.

In short, you must knife 50 different people!

If you check out the dog tags you have gathered over your online game play, you will notice that some are different colours and have numbers on them. These represent the rank of the player that you knife. Gold being closer to 25 and bronze being closer to 1. Simple huh?

In your dog tag stats, you're k/d ratio is not about dog tags, it is about how many times you are killed by a knife and your kills with a knife. So if you get 4 kills with a knife and get killed by a knife 2 times, your k/d ratio will be 2.00.

Knife Guide

Ahh knifing...a good old favorite hobby of mine...in Bad Company of course...

As my fellow achievement junkies already know, there is an achievement for obtaining a certain amount of unique dog tags, in other words, knifing 50 different people in total. This guide may help you to get this achievement, or you may already have it. It is not intended as an achievement guide, as they can already be found, this is just a guide explaining what works best when knifing and how to get the most knife kills in a round possible.

The Knife

This little piece of sharpened metal is very useful in a couple of circumstances. 1) You run around a corner and are face to face with an enemy, OR 2) you catch an enemy off guard and have the ability to do as you wish to him/her.

You use your knife by pressing Y, but be careful, it isn't like some games where you pull out your knife and then have to slash with it, by pressing Y, you pull out your knife and slash with it straight away. As i have mentioned before, don't be behind an enemy when pulling out your knife!

Once the knife is out though, it remains out until changed, which means a simple press of the RT will swing your knife and bring an enemy down in one solid hit!

The knife is rather reliable in lag compared to other games including knives such as CoD4. Of course it is difficult in a laggy game, but not impossible, being in Australia, every game i join is laggy, but my method of knifing gains me at least 8 dog tags a game. At least!

Which Class to Use?

Many people say specialist is the best class to use for knifing, but i strongly disagree with that. Apparently they are harder to spot...but if the enemy can't spot someone as a specialist, i doubt they will spot any other uniform wearing enemy.

My main knifing class is assault. Why? The Auto-Injector. Knifing doesn't always go too well, and you are often caught in the cross fire of team mates and enemies, or just plain caught and shot at. Either way, the auto-injector comes in very handy to stay alive longer and deep behind enemy lines.

Recon is my second choice, as the ghillie suit makes you rather hard to spot, but not impossible. But this class has no healing abilities, so try and stick to assault.

Maps

First of all, don't go running around like a mad man on a vastly open map where you will get seen very easily. Be patient and wait for the right map to come around. My favorite maps for knifing are Oasis and Over and Out. Of course, you are thinking, Oasis? Are you mad? But you will see why soon. Obviously i am not going to go through every single map and write a detailed knife guide on each one, but i will write one for Oasis and Over and Out. Not because i am lazy, but because that the tips i give for these two maps, can be taken on board for all the other maps.

Oasis

Oasis quickly became one of my favorite maps for knifing, and is where i managed to get 20 dog tags in a single round.

The trick is, wait until the battle is at the 3rd set of crates. The first two provide very little cover and even the 3rd is pushing it. Just play normally until the 3rd set of crates and then bring out your knife. For the 3rd set of crates, ignore the one in the houses on the left, as you have no cover for that. For the other crate to your right (looking from your new base) you need to get behind the enemy, this can either be done by beaing very skilled in the art of sneaking (like me xD) or driving a humvee past them.

If i was you, i wouldn't try and get too many knives in this set of crates either. The best thing to do, is to get inside the houses behind the crate and sneak as close as you can get to the red area. As soon as the crate is destroyed, start running through the houses slashing doors and sprinting as fast as you can to the next crate. Keep going and once you get behind the majority of the enemy, start sneaking around and looking for stand alone enemies. The trick on this level is to use the houses for cover and to come up behind the enemy. Apart from that, it's all up to you! Just choose wisely and don't risk your life for a single knife. Make sure to keep moving and never sit in the same spot for more then one knife kill. This was from an Attacking point of view.

When defending, it is alot easier, just sit near the crates and and wait for people planting charges or straying from the group. You can also try the same method of sneaking behind the attackers, which does work too.

Over and Out

This is probably the best map to knife in as it provides lots of physical cover, with the addition of the fog, it is very easy to rack up the dog tags here. When Attacking, either go very far left or right. One or the other, and make sure to get behind the enemy. Even hiding inside the building closest to the ground level crate can get you a few kills. When defending, do the same, go either far left or far right, i recommend left as you blend in more.

Once the first set of crates are destroyed, you get to the best knifing area in the game. If you are on defenders, the trick is to get as far right as possible (looking from your base) and hang around behind walls. As the enemy runs up the hill, jump out and knife them and then jump back into cover. If you are on Attackers, go far right through the trees and circle behind the enemy. This area is where you have to be sneaky and make sure to be quick when attempting to knife someone.

Knife Styles

There are two basic knifing styles and two sub-styles that i use. These being - Knife the Whole Game, Choose the knife Kills and the sub-styles - Risk your Life or Play it safe.

I won't tell you which combination of these to use, as it is completely up to you. Whatever you feel comfortable with is what you should stick to.

Knifing the Whole Game

This is what i used most when i wanted the most knife kills i could get. You rarely ever draw your gun when playing like this, and rely on your team mates to spot enemies for you and protect you.

Choosing the Knife Kills

The opposite of the above style, you use your weapon for the majority of the game, but knife when appropriate. Not much can be said here.

Risking your Life

This is where you don't care about getting killed, as long as you get that dog tag. This can be very effective, but also very dangerous. You throw yourself at enemies regardless for your safety and hope to get a knife kill.

Play it Safe

This is the way to get a lot of knife kills without dying as much. Unlike the above sub-style, if you see an enemy run past, you wait a bit and look around before engaging the target. You never approach enemies from the front unless very close range and you stay crouched 90% of the time.

Of course, these aren't actually features of the game, they are mind sets that really help when knifing. I recommend that you choose one main style and pair it with a sub-style before you begin the round and stick to it. knifing the whole game and playing it safe is what i suggest you start with.

General Tips

- If you see a red dot sitting still, circle round behind and get his dog tags!

- If you spot a sniper somewhere, stay low and approach from the sides of behind.

- When beaing stealthy, crouch heaps. Move slowly and only get up and sprint when going for the kill.

- Use the Auto-Injector when your health drops below 75. It refills quickly remember.

- Don't camp with the knife! Enemies will recognise where you camp and kill you with ease.

- Don't do the same thing every game! Mix it up! Enemies will recognise your patterns and learn to counter them.

This is currently a work in progress, so please, give me some ideas of what to add to this guide!

Hopefully everyone will read the support bit about healing team mates its so annoying when they run away, even worse when there in your sqaud and you can actually talk to them. I teamkill everyone that runs away now! they send me messages "why did you kill me fag" So I simply say give me health next time. hopefully it will sink in ;)

On quite a few maps, the objectives are actually destroyable from the outskirts of your base. Meaning that you don't even have to go into the action to score some points.

I already know you point out there are other ways to destroy it. But the tank's secondary weapon obviously helps out destroy it as well. So thought you could either edit or just like to point out myself to others that come across this.

If you or you have someone in the secondary gunner in your tank, they can help as well destroy the crate or guard the tank from specialists trying to C4 the tank or anyone else.

Though the heavy tank does nice damage, I love using the light tank as you can really do a lot of damage in a matter of moments before most the time, getting blown up or from a distance too. Can drive off quickly too if it is just you and someone is trying to C4 you, lock on you, etc.

Great post though for newcomers online.

I have a quick question if someone can help :)

When using the huge gun at your base, the mortar strike is it? and you are panning around the map, why does sometimes the screen go all wavy like interference when moving it around?

I hope someone can offer some advice/explain this as I generally try and use this and haven't a clue why this happens :(

It's the artillery strike, the mortar strike comes with the support kit if you chose to unlock it.

There is interference because you are not allowed to fire that far away. You are only allowed to fire it in the designated area where there is no interference. This helps balance the game more too.

Now keep in mind I've only used this few times, so you probably should be able to use it further as your team blows up the gold crates. Though hopefully to balance the game, I hope you can't use at the end of the gold crates if there is even a limit. I've played like 130 games and I don't remember how far this can be even used. This I do not know because I don't use the artillery strike often what so ever. The times I have I was usually team killed or taken out early anyways too. I get more points without it anyways too.

It's the artillery strike, the mortar strike comes with the support kit if you chose to unlock it.

Thanks, that makes sense, it just irked me as to what was going on :)

- Don't waste helicopters! If you cannot fly one, then don't. When used properly, Helicopters can turn the tide in battle, so please don't waste them.

First of all the whole point of not allowing a person to use a class/vehicle based on their ability to use it is stupid. If a person if unfamiliar with the use of a vehicle aren't they allowed to practice, how are they going to get any better?

Thanks for the replies guys! I didn't expect it to go this well, so i'll happily take note of your opinions and add in the appropriate information.

Dildar - I completely understand where your coming from, but maybe an unranked game would be suffice for helicopter training? I know what you mean that people have to get better at particular vehicles and by using one they will gain the knowledge and skills they need to use it effectively, but when i choose to play a ranked game, i don't like to see things put to waste.

But thanks for pointing that out =]

Why is everyone trying to boost their ego, by going on about; "Oh these Noobs do this, and these noobs do that." Your Literally saying; "I'm better then everyone." You were all noobs to this once, so stop trying to make yourself sound bigger by going on about how everyone is a noob...

Anyway, Really good guide.

That's funny. I for one was quite clueless when i first started. I think the learning curve is steep and may be the reason many of my friends shied away from the game. I love the tips. I wondered what those gizmos were as a sniper. Fun game, I love the team work aspect.

One thing though:

How about some tips for flying "da chopper"? I can barely keep that thing in the air. I've learned that little movements of the sticks are your friends.

Great idea, thanks. I'll start thinking about it tonight.

When in game, you only ever get the option of 4 assault weapons in total (if i remember correctly) you get the main default assault weapon for that team, the gold edition assault rifle and the two unlockable ones. In the extras menu, it will show all of the assault weapons, but 3 of them are the default for each team, meaning the first assault rifle is for the US team, the AK is for the other and the AUG is for the last team.

This means that if you start on the US team, you will get their default starting AR, the gold edition unlock and the other two unlockable weapons (if unlocked). Then if you are on the Russian team, you will get a different default Assault rifle to the US team, while keeping the other 3 weapons.

Make Sense?

Yes, thank you. That explains why the first 3 weapons have the same stats.
