Introduction:

This is the achievement guide for the Call Of Duty:Black Ops second map pack: Escalation. This map pack costs 1200 MSP, or 15$. All the achievements included in this DLC have to deal with the Zombie map that comes with Escalation, Call Of The Dead. If you are a big Zombies fan, than this is the map for you. More difficult than the others as they do add in a whole new variable that prevents good camp spots ( George )

 

Walkthrough:

There are a total of 5 achievements adding up to 150 GamerScore. All but 1 achievement can be earned Solo (Ensemble Cast) but this can also be earned split screen offline. Most are simple, but require luck. I'd suggest playing naturally until you recieve the weapons Scavenger or V-R11, when you recieve them, then you can go for the achievements Shooting on Location, and Stuntman. While you do have the Scavenger, Pack-a-Punch it and net the Quiet on the Set achievement. Now you only have two more achievements, they are for completing the major Easter Egg in Call of The Dead. I suggest doing the Co-op one first ( Ensemble Crew ) as it does also net you the solo equivalent ( Stand in ).

These are some things players should know prior to playing Call of The Dead.

 

To interact with 90% of the items in Call of The Dead, hold the :xbut: button.

 

If George A. Romero ( Director with stage light) starts to run/attack you, you can make him go back to his passive state by either making him run into a chilled pond, or shooting him with the V-R11.

Solo

(Make sure power is on before doing any of these steps)

 

Step 1: Fuse

 

Go to the locked door below where the mystery box spawns outside of the Lighthouse. You will notice there are people talking ( Original cast, Takeo, Dempsey, Richtofen, Nikolai ), knife the door until there is no dialog.

 

Go to one floor above and there should be a fuse on the one of the two tables, or under the window next to the cabinet as you enter. Hold :xbut: to recieve,then go downstairs back to locked door and hold :xbut: on the box to the right of the locked room. Knife till there is no more dialog.

 

 

 

Step 2: Generators

You must now shut off the generators, you can use any of these, Grenade, Semtex, Crossbow, or the Scavenger.( Crossbow and Scavenger are received from the mystery box, Semtex's can be found above the Juggernaut Perk machine ).

 

Location 1: Right behind the locked room with the survivors

Location 2: Under in between flinger and landing, next to boat.

Location 3: Instead of going left upstairs for power, go right( front of ship ) and it should be to the left of the ship,looking down.

Location 4: Go out the back of the lighthouse, generator can be seen through a window from the house ahead( after the chilled pond).

 

 

After this there should be a flashing/beeping light outside.

 

 

Step 3: Power Room

 

Go to the Power Room, make the Wheel spin( :xbut: ) until the longer stick ( Brown ) is in the 5 o' clock position.

 

Now push down the 3 levers on the right with :xbut:.

 

Use far left lever once and far right lever 3 times.

 

Now the light should have disappeared and a green light should come out of the lighthouse.

 

 

 

Step 4: Golden Rod

 

Now you will have to find a "Golden Rod".

 

You will notice there is now a green light going up the staircases in the lighthouse.

 

Bring a zombie to the very bottom of the lighthouse and turn him into a human next to where the green light / spiral staircase starts.

 

Now When you turn him into a human, he will run into the green light and it will float him up slowly.

 

As he is floating up, kill him. It does take a lot to kill him, normal weapons will not do. Get Pap'd weapons, or the Ray Gun and/or Scavenger

 

 

Step 5: Sacrifice

 

The human will now be laying down while floating up the green light. When he reaches the top the "Golden Rod" will appear at the bottom. Once again hold :xbut: to get.

 

 

 

STEP 6: Finish

You did it! Put the "Golden Rod" into the left of the door ( hold :xbut: ) and it will be sucked up and the crew will have received it. You will hear some dialog between them, then they will complain about the power, you will see that the fuse is sparking, knife it, and then you'll hear a teleporting noise.

 

Bam!, after all that you should get this achievement and a nice gamer picture of Takeo.

You also recieve the WunderWaffe DG-2 until you use all of its ammo.

 

*Upon finishing this achievement, every time you kill George in solo zombies, the Death Machine drop will instead be a WunderWaffe DG-2.

Step 3: Vodka

You will be asked to get Vodka, there are 4 around the map.

 

Vodka location 1: Right outside the lighthouse, where the closest mystery box spawns ( On the corner of a rail )

 

Vodka location 2: Like location on, except hanging off stairs leading from locked room to upstairs.

 

Vodka location 3: When first on boat, look left and you will have to buy your way through boxes, the Vodka is on the railing to the right after going up those stairs.

 

Vodka location 4: When first on boat, go forward to the Juggernaut machine perk, a small sailboat will be in your way, buy it. DON'T drop down, if you look to your left there is the Vodka.

 

Have one player knife the frozen Vodka, and one person standing directly under it to catch it, the Vodka falls slowly so it's not difficult. ( Catcher DOES NOT need to hold :xbut: )

 

*If you do fail to catch the Vodka, it will break, but don't worry, it will spawn in one of the other 3 locations.

 

Return to locked room and insert it into the suction tube hold :xbut: ( left of the locked room ).

 

 

Step 4: Dials

 

There are four dials in the lighthouse, one on each floor,from top to bottom colored Yellow, Orange, Blue, and Purple.

 

You turn the dials with the :xbut: button.

 

You must make the dials as such:

Top floor ( Yellow ) 2, second from top ( Orange ) 7, second from bottom ( Blue ) 4, and bottom ( Purple ) 6.

 

Something like this:

 

Yellow Dial (Top) -2

Orange Dial ( 2nd from top ) -7

Blue Dial ( 2nd from bottom ) -4

Purple Dial ( Bottom )-6

 

Turning each dial will result in other dials turning, as such:

 

Turning the Yellow dial turns = Turning Yellow and Orange dials up 1 number

Turning the Orange dial = Turning Orange, Blue, and Yellow dials up 1 number

Turning the Blue dial = Turning Blue, Purple, and Orange dials up 1 number

Turning the Purple dial = Turning Purple and Blue dials up 1 number

 

How to get them to correct numbers:

 

1. Turn the Purple dial until it is at 6

2. Turn the Orange dial until the Blue dial is at 4

3. Turn the Yellow dial until the Orange dial is at 7.

4. [Now you MUST remember how many turns you take here]. Turn the yellow dial until it is at 2

5. Turn the Purple dial as many times as you turned the Yellow dial in step 4.

6. Turn the Blue dial until it is 4

 

Everything should be set now, if not, don't worry you can redo the steps.

 

 

 

*NOTICE: FROM HERE ON OUT, IF YOU FAIL TO DO THE REQUIREMENTS ( ORDER ) FOR THE NEXT STEPS, YOU MUST WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT ROUND HAS STARTED UNTIL YOU CAN RE-DO THE CERTAIN STEPS.

 

 

 

Step 5: Radios

You must now activate all the broken radios.

You activate the broken radios with the :xbut: button.

 

You MUST activate the radios in this order:

 

Radio location 1: Next to the flinger, under the power switch

Radio location 2: Next to the Stamin-Up perk machine

Radio location 3: Inside a cargo crate , floor on top of Juggernaut perk machine.

Radio location 4: Next to the PhD Flopper perk machine ( Under the stairs by locked room )

 

If you mess up the order, then you must wait until the next round to re-do this step.

 

 

 

Step 6: Power Room

 

Go to Power Room, make the Wheel spin( :xbut: ) until the longer stick ( Brown ) is in the 5 o' clock position.

 

Now push down the 3 levers on the right with :xbut:, Use far left lever once and far right lever 3 times.

 

A Submarine will now come up.

 

 

 

Step 7: Foghorns

You now MUST activate the foghorns in order.

You activate the foghorns by pressing the :xbut: button.

 

Order:

 

First foghorn: One closest to pond at the bottom of the lighthouse.

Second foghorn: One directly to your right as you slide down the icy slope.

Third foghorn: One closest to the bottom of the lighthouse.

Fourth foghorn: One directly ahead next to the rock as after you slide down the slope.

 

A green light will now come from the submarine to the lighthouse.

 

If you mess up the order, then you must wait until the next round to re-do this step.

 

 

Step 8: Golden Rod

 

Now you will have to find the "Golden Rod".

 

You will notice there is now a green light going up the staircases in the lighthouse.

In Call of the Dead, make a zombie explode using the V-R11.

The V-R11 is a new gun in the series, it can only be obtained through the mystery box.

 

You must Pack-A-Punch the V-R11 for the achievement, which turns it into the V-R11 Lazarus.

 

Pack-a-Punched version is for co-op only, as if you shoot your teammate with it, it gives them invincibility for 10-15 seconds.

 

Shoot a zombie with the V-R11 Lazarus 2-3 time and it will explode. Only the person doing the achievement will recieve it.

In Call of the Dead, kill 10 zombies with one Scavenger shot from over 100 feet away.

The Scavenger is also a new weapon introduced in Call Of The Dead.

 

Pack-a-Punched this gun is renamed Hyena Infra-Dead. Comes with extra ammunition, a bigger magazine size, bigger blast radius, and of course, an infrared scope.

 

It is recommended you do pack a punch this gun when going for this achievement as the blast radius is bigger.

 

Solo:

 

It is recommended that you run the solo strategy posted at the top of this guide.

 

At the bottom of the lighthouse outside, try to turn all the zombies into crawlers ( Ray Gun makes this easy ) there can only be up to 24 zombies out at a time, so when the running ones stop coming, you know you've got them all.

 

After, run straight for the spawn, go the where the mystery box spawns( or further back if you like ), then aim at the wooden bridge where the Quick Revive is, then wait to see 2-3 crawlers and shoot 1 at them, this will usually get you 10 or more as there is should be more behind the 2-3 crawlers.

 

xOhNoes11's Method:

Great guide, especially with the videos, the formatting and the clear and concise language.

 

Also from what I've seen the with Scavenger (for that corresponding achievement) what you can do is get a big group from looping at the lighthouse and then lead them to the boat. From there, launch to the lighthouse and then you'll have a clear shot at hitting 10+ as they run down the path through the starting area to get back to you.

 

 

Watch your back, as some crawlers will die and respawn close to you.

 

Co-op:

 

This achievement is rather simple with another teammate.

Get your teammate to do the solo strategy posted at the top of this guide.

After he is all set,you will then go up to the power room and head for the zip line,but instead of zipping through, you can see your team mate, here you can shoot a shot into the crowd following your teammate and should be able to kill 10, if you miss, try to direct your teammate into the shot.

 

 

Quiet on the Set-30:gsicon:

In Call of the Dead, cut the lights on the Director.

You do not get this achievement if you make him go away with the upgraded V-R11.

Everybody in the game will get the achievement.

 

His health is shown by the stage light in his hand:

Stage light: Blue.

Stage light: Blue flickering to Orange.

Stage light: Orange flickering off.

For this achievement you must kill George A. Romero (Director with stage light at beginning)

 

This one will take some time on solo, but can be done within the first 5 rounds.

 

What I did was save up points until the end of round 5, buy an M14, make a crawler.

 

I had about 8900 points at this point.

 

Now all you have to do is shoot George with all your ammunition on the M14 until you run out, buy more, shoot all, buy more, rinse and repeat.

 

M14 is 500 points, 250 for refill on ammo.

 

Took me about 20-30 Minutes to kill him

 

Necrophage33 tip:

 

Hey I'd like to add a couple comments to the solo Quiet on the Set achievement (M14 method):

 

This can easily be done by the end of Round 4. I did it at the end of Round 4 with at least 1000 points to spare (I didn't buy Quick Revive at all, since I felt it was unnecessary).

 

Round 1: 5 shots to the chest and then knife kill

Round 2: two knife hits per zombie

Round 3: two M14 shots to the chest and then knife kill. Do this until there are too many zombies to do it safely

Round 4: aim for the head with your M14. Make sure to group the last 2-5 zombies together and make a crawler. When you have one crawler left, get him near George and shoot George so he electrifies the zombie. Now the crawler won't freeze.

 

If, by the end of Round 4, you have at least 6000 points, you're set.

 

One very important thing to note:

 

Since this take a while to whittle down his health with the M14, the crawler will be idle for a while. If the crawler goes a certain amount of time without hitting you, he'll go away and a new zombie will spawn on its feet. This screwed me on my first attempt after spending 30 minutes shooting George. To avoid this happening the second time, every 1000 points I went through for ammo, I let the crawler hit my once. That way I didn't have to worry about getting screwed by a new zombie spawn.

 

This should hopefully help people like me who suck at surviving on their own. Surviving till the end of Round 4 is pretty simple!

I wish there was a video on what to do at the start of the solo game and what to buy and how to earn enough points to buy all the doors needed. We know the steps by now but the videos dont show how to get to that point.

Answering from other thread.

 

By the way, when you shoot at George, does it have to be on land or is it ok on the water?

 

I'm not really sure about this, but it's best to keep him in the water, as he will not get enraged.

 

The best spot for this would have to be Revive island ( Spawn ) as you could easily go back and fourth inbetween land, while he stays in the water. :]

Wow.. I was on my way to killing romero solo and he was orange flickering and somehow my crawler becomes a full sprint standing zombie again.. Had to run around the map once just to let one clip into romero from the m14.. i was soon downed after about 20 go arounds with the standing zombie that was once a crawler! complete BULLSHIT!

Had to run around the map once just to let one clip into romero from the m14.. i was soon downed after about 20 go arounds with the standing zombie that was once a crawler! complete BULLSHIT!

The crawlers become normal zombies again if you lose sight of them, they come through the closest window to you as a runner

When you do the paradise achievement on solo and get the wunderwaffe it actually lasts untill you use all of the ammo, not 90 seconds. Other than that, good guide.

You're wrong. I lost it and I still had 5 shots.. But you hold it more than 90 seconds.. I believe you hold it 2 or 3 minutes.

Hey guys , im Not at a computer right now, but ill try to answer everything. Stuntman can be done solo you just have to be lucky with the mystery box :). The nexo time i get the wunderwaffe ill retest and see how Long it last, i will keep it as is because wiki also says it lasts till ammo runs

Just a random comment on your difficulty rating: if something requires teamwork and skill, doesn't that mean it's difficult? 5/10 seems a bit low for a COD Zombies set of achievements.

Well it's hard to say to be honest. some require luck and some requires skill. Such as getting weapons require luck, and knowing how to survive requires skill. The team aspect is mainly for Ensemble Crew, as long as your team knows what to do, you can get past ot easy, bur if they don't know, then confusion can set in.

Just had to ask if anybody has a 100% confirmation on whether or not the entire team gets the "Quite on the Set" achievement, the "Shooting on Location" achievement, and the "Stuntman" achievement or not. I've heard that you do and that you don't, so a 100% confirmation on which it is would be great. Thanks!

Great guide by the way but me and my 2 friends have been on the same game now for 6 hours straigtht and we are on the 8th round, we have destroyed the 4 generators,turned the dial to the right place, got the vodka, pressed the horns in the correct order and the beam wont appear so we can shoot the zombie to give us the golden rod. any tips would be greatful.

I havn't got past the dials yet D:, so no personal experience for the froghorn,ill try to tell you when I get there :]
