Wow game is not that good, borderlining on really bad (spoilers)

(Game * ^)

Why was this game 40$ new,I paid 20$ for it and felt ripped off heres why.

SPOILORS BELOW

It is a spinoff alternative universe to Deadrising 2,instead of playing as Chuck Greene we play as Frank West the main character from the first Deadrising. Basicaly the story is a altternative version of DR2. The same characters, different dialogue. So basicaly it should have been DLC for DR2,it could be considered DLC anyway,no idea why this was a pricy 40$ stand alone game.

Deadrising 2,Case 0,Case West the games are made by Blue Castle Games, published by Capcom. Blue Castle did an amazing job with those 3 DR games.

This game however, made by Capcom plays almost identical to DR2 to a fault. Pretty much the same everything, only playing as a different character. I'm saving the same survivors, fighting the same phychopaths, building the same combo weapons, walking around in the same areas, talking to the same people, and the entire time i was saying ''Id rather be playing Deadrising 2''. The story is boring and BS. One mission I had to grind for one million dollars to give to TK,only to get it back again in the next case. Wow that was dumb. (Thank goodness there is no Co op achivement in this one,Don't even remind me I have to play more then halfway through the story again for ''Alpha Vs Omega'')

In DR2 when I was near max and at level 50 I was kicking ass. In Off the record towards the end I was getting my ass kicked at level 47/50. (Destroying the Bee Hives, against Security guards some with merc rifles, some with annoying blast frequency guns all while gas zombies are interfering.)

All in all Capcom can kiss my ass,Im not buying anymore of their Deadrising games. They proved now since Kenji left their dev team can't pull off the magic that Deadrising 1 had. They should leave future Deadrising games to Blue Castle Games.

Why the hell was TIR MP taken out. I loved that in DR2. It was fun and challenging.

I have to do in the new ''Sandbox'' mode the ''Challenges'',30 SP ones,30 online co op ones. Ive done 4 challenges they are dumb and tedious. Those Challenge achivements are gonna suck.

DR2 Off the Record- It only adds a very very small number of stuff like the Uranus Theme Park, like one new survivor (The gamer champion),Two new phychopaths (Chuck Greene,Evan The Clown),10 new combo weapons This game should have been 10$ from the Microsoft Store.

The story was predictable. Oh Stacey is the main bad guy,wow never would have guessed that  the Stacey boss battle was laughibly bad. Like I said I have no idea why everyone loved this game, guys I love Deadrising,

I 100%ed The first,Case West and Zero, My copy of DR2 burnt out long ago Im about to re buy it when I do Im defnitly gonna 100% it, in my opnion thats the best DR game, but OTR sucks.

Sure I loved the dialouge from Frank West and he is a badass.(His lines made me laugh a few times) I just feel that if we had a different location,Mall/Casino,a much better Story, new survivors and characters then it would have been enjoyable but as it is its a souless copy cat of DR2. The Sandbox mode and the challenges were such a huge disapointment. Why didn't they just make it like Infinite Mode(Which had no challenges in the first game) and had two achivements of Survive for 6 days and 8 days, this time with saving.

I give the game a 6.5/10 under average,very disapointing.

All that and it gets a 6.5 from you? That's a bit generous. Under average would be a 4.

I rate my games like Game Informer rates.

1-no comment

2.unplayable

3.broken

4.really bad gameplay,boring

5.Not well thought out, boring, generic to the max

6.While there may be fans of the game,it shys from average

7-average,nothing new

8.Above average

9-A game that is very well made

10-rare masterpiece

I rated this game a 6.5/10 its again identical to DR2,only not as good. There wernt many changes to anything.

Ah I think it comes down to player preference. I don't play the DR games but from what I can see of them is that they all look and do the same as the first one.

Naw man they are all different from the first. True its all similar gameplay, time limit, inventory system, health system, but everything else is defnitly improved, AI,weapons, etc.

Anyway, nabbed a few achivements and happy im at 720 gs/1000 so far after this 1000 I can 1000 Deadrising 2 then I'll have every achivement in every Deadrising game. My opnion has not changed at all. I still don't like the game.

Game isn't that bad is it?

I don't take it too seriously and I'm only playing it because me and my friend are bored.

Game is that bad. I liked Frank but he alone couldnt save this copy cat game. If you would rather play a superior Deadrising game play the orginal Deadrising 2.

It's almost the exact same game. I can't understand how you could hate this one so much more over the other. You complain about it being the same game but you should have known it was the same game before you bought it, everyone else who bought it knew this.

TIR multi was taken out because you are probably the only person on the planet who enjoyed it and sandbox mode is IMO the single greatest thing added into a DR game yet, I would describe the challenges exactly how you described TIR, fun and challenging. If anything the sandbox mode makes this the far superior version to own if you are only going to buy one.

I have, I'm not looking too deep into it. Just as a good time killer with a friend

It's just the same thing to me but with minor changes. That's why I waited to buy it used for 20 bucks

Agreed. And this is exactly why I kept Off the Record and chose to sell Dead Rising 2. The ending of Off the Record's story was silly and semi-annoying but that was the only real gripe I had with the whole thing. Overall, I thought it was an improvement over the version with Chuck and I've netted 100% on every Dead Rising game thus far. Sandbox mode trumps TiR any day. :)

I finally got around to playing this one and I actually like it more than Dead Rising 2. I always thought it was just a shameless rehash but I liked the switching around of the antagonists, and Frank getting the girl in the end. Maybe I enjoyed it so much knowing I didn't pay full price, but only 7-8 bucks on Steam? haha

Chuck appearing as a psychopath was really awesome, and Evan turning out to be Adam's brother was hilarious. Loved that fight. Sandbox mode is also exactly what Dead Rising needed. It's a great way just to goof around like we should have always been able to. I can't say I ever played Terror is Reality more than once, so I don't miss that.

On a side note, I always thought game review scores were stupid because 6 is usually deemed as a mediocre game and 5 is just a plain bad one. What's even the point of having 1-4?

I did not know this would be the same game. Honestly didn't.

LOL LOL LOL. No Infinite mode in DR1 was far superior to Sandbox mode.

I knew I'd get hate for this, what reviewer dosen't when you bash a game that has fans (Cough Cough COD2 :) )

I didn't like this cause the story was stupid in this one,I hated the final boss fight and the Dubstep music was giving me a headache so put my music on.

I hated the million dollar grind for a case mission. It was unnessasary.

I dont see how you hate it, sandbox mode in my opinion is what everyone wanted, you dont HAVE to do the challenges, its just there for fun, and also to explore get the PP stickers, or other achievenments like finding combo cards or whatever.

What I really liked is the layout, frank west, katana's, sandbox, costume dlc from DR2, combo cards from the other games (Case west, Zero), survivors appear conveniently than pressed for time to save, protoman canon(Missed the mega buster though), and probably new addition of Uranus park.

What I didnt like is why they didnt add infiniti mode or TIR? I dont see why not, the boss's are harder, challenges can be very tedious and aggravating, the use of zombrex?, and story wasnt exactly better but couldve been different.

On a side note its very easy to get money, the security keys are generous, I just nabbed a bunch of money hackers and hack atms for all the cash, and its very easy, just go to the sex shop is and theres like 6 atms in the area $20k each and then leave the area (Slot Ranch), then repeat. Got million in like 20 mins.

This game was not very different but in its own ways of tweaking and moving things around made a good difference to me and they were great.

This is all my opinion, you just feel that way but I see it as a great game, and a lot bigger than the other, since Katey was always annoying to keep going back to the entire game and with the zombrex business.

Having completed Off the Record a few hours ago, I can say that Dead Rising 2 had the better storyline fit. The bad guy felt more natural than the one in Off the Record and the final boss battle was challenging. OTR boss battle wasn't much to shake a stick at (unless you're going overtime then it really gets annoying because the checkpoint has you doing the zombie minigame again before you can face the boss). I felt it was kind of easy, once you figured out where to strike. I only lost one health square in the entire fight.

OTR was more challenging in escort missions and I liked that more over DR2 godly survivors. I am glad they toned it down but not to the irritating level as Dead Rising. I actually had to reload checkpoints because the looters would kill off my survivors while making a mad dash for the safe house. In the DR 2 I didn't lose a single one during my entire playthough.

I am disappointed that boss battles seem easier in OTR than DR2. Snowflake is a push over now and the Italian chef is even easier. I remember when Snowflake use to tear me to shreds, but for some reason in OTR she dies easily.

OTR wins in terms of sandbox mode. It's not Dead Rising survival mode but it's a lot funner than DR TIR.

I'm not a fan either but I just picked it up.

Not liking the movement speed ( running), the slow regroup from weapon swinging, the SPEED of the psychos when they recover from an attack, the lack of health recover items near a boss, or the damage given/inflicted ratio on bosses.

I got to the underground parking lot on LVL 26 and was getting torn up on the machine gun/grenade guy. I only had 2 heath bars and was loaded with guns...I ran out of weapons before he was down to what I would consider "almost had him". But I hit him with pistols, flame thrower, spiked bats, 2 assault rifles and 1 pizza. he'd stroll out and bingo -dead eye. I'd get off a few shots and he wouldn't drop, but sure as hell as he physically hit me I was face up on the turf with him kicking me....

I said screw it and started a new game+ already to hopefully get some more health, damage, etc....
