Introduction

Cut the Rope Experiments is a 2D physics-based puzzle game in which your goal is to guide a piece of candy into the mouth of Om Nom, a happy-go-lucky loveable green monster. This game is a sequel to Cut the Rope, which is also on the Windows Phone platform. You can play through 150 cleverly-designed levels, split across 6 visually and somewhat mechanically-unique worlds. The challenge lies in collecting all three stars that are scattered across the level, before feeding the candy to Om Nom. The game’s graphics are colorful and gorgeous and the controls are crisp and intuitive. Currently the game is listed at $0.99 in the Windows Phone Store.

Step 1: Collect a total of 300 stars and unlock up to Level 6-23

Play through the levels, collecting as many stars as you can. You only need to get a total of 300 to unlock the last world, called Handy Candy. This does not require you earn 3 stars on all levels, but it doesn’t hurt. You need 300 out of a possible 375 on the first 5 worlds. Once you unlock the last world, just start at Level 6-1 and skip all levels until Level 6-23, the last of which you will need for the miscellaneous achievements. Skipping is done by pausing the game and pushing "Skip".

Step 2: Mop-up miscellaneous achievements

Complete whatever miscellaneous achievements you may have left. There could be a lot, but they can all be completed in a very short amount of time on specific levels. To make this completion the least tedious, see the miscellaneous achievement descriptions below for the quickest spots to grind each achievement.

Conclusion

Luckily none of the achievements require too much thought as you do not actually need to earn 3 stars on all levels. If a level is too difficult to earn 3 stars, just skip it. All of the achievements can be completed in around 2 hours with little challenge.

GUIDE

STAR-COLLECTION ACHIEVEMENTS (3 for 35 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png)

The following 3 achievements are obtained just by gathering stars on the levels.

Collect 200 stars

To unlock all the achievements related to stars, you need to collect a total of 200 of them. There are 3 on each level and it is not that hard to collect most of them. You will need to collect at least 300 stars to be able to unlock the “Robo Master” achievement (need to unlock Level 6-23), so this will come naturally. You can check your total in the World-Selection screen. You need to finish a level (by getting the candy in the creature's mouth, regardless of collecting any stars) or skip the level (pausing and hitting "Skip") to unlock the next level of the world. You unlock new worlds (the first level of each) by gathering a certain number of stars.

See THIS link for 3-star video walkthroughs for each level of the game if you are having trouble. Thanks to cuttheropecheats.com for posting these videos. It is recommended that you only use the walkthrough if you get stuck on a level or need to pick up a few extra stars later in the game, as the levels are mostly very easy and a guide will just slow you down in most cases.

MISCELLANEOUS ACHIEVEMENTS (14 for 160 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png)

The following 14 achievements are obtained by completing miscellaneous cumulative requirements or tasks. Some of them can only be earned in certain worlds.

14CLiGJhbC9AFQVOXVJQHDhhL2FjaC8wLzQAAAAA5+fn+MFddA==.jpg Rope Collector - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Cut 50 ropes.

See "Rope Expert."

1oCLiGJhbC9BFQVOXVJQHDhhL2FjaC8wLzUAAAAA5+fn+SGl5w==.jpg Rope Expert - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Cut 600 ropes.

To unlock these two achievements, you need to cut a total of 600 ropes. This should be the last achievement you attempt to unlock, as your grind towards earning many of the other achievements will also count towards this one. The best level to grind these is 4-19, which has a total of 8 ropes right from the start. Cut all the ropes quickly (in a circular fashion) and instantly hit the button to restart the level. Repeat until you unlock the achievement. No need to go any further into the level as it saves your cuts instantly. This will take only a few minutes to grind.

1ICLiGJhbC9CFQVOXVJQHDhhL2FjaC8wLzYAAAAA5+fn+wCsUg==.jpg Rookie Sniper - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Shoot with the rope gun 50 times.

See “Skilled Sniper.”

1YCLiGJhbC9DFQVOXVJQHDhhL2FjaC8wLzcAAAAA5+fn+uBUwQ==.jpg Skilled Sniper - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Shoot with the rope gun 150 times.

To unlock these two achievements, you need to shoot a total of 150 rope guns. Rope guns are the green circles that have crosshairs in them, which fire out a rope that attaches to the candy when you tap them. The best level to grind these is Level 2-8. There are 4 rope guns to shoot right from the start of the level. As soon as you fire the fourth gun, reload the level. Repeat for a minute or two until the achievement unlocks.

1oCLiGJhbC9MFQVOXVJQHDhhL2FjaC8wLzgAAAAA5+fn+cdAzw==.jpg High Jumper – 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Bounce on trampoline 100 times.

See “Crazy Jumper.”

14CLiGJhbC9NFQVOXVJQHDhhL2FjaC8wLzkAAAAA5+fn+Ce4XA==.jpg Crazy Jumper – 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Bounce on trampoline 400 times.

To unlock these two achievements, you need to bounce the candy on a trampoline 400 times. The best spot to grind these is Level 1-23. From the start of the level, the candy will be bouncing around already and attached to a rope. Just let it go for a few minutes to unlock both of these achievements.

1ICLiGJhbC8VFQVOXVJQHDhhL2FjaC8wL2EAAAAA5+fn+wjn8A==.jpg Novice Wall Climber - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Use suction-cup 50 times.

See “Veteran Wall Climber.”

1oCLiGJhbC8WFQVOXVJQHDhhL2FjaC8wL2IAAAAA5+fn+SnuRQ==.jpg Veteran Wall Climber - 15 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Use suction-cup 400 times.

To unlock these two achievements, you need to use the suction-cup 400 times. Suction-cups start out attached to the wall. You tap them once to release them, and then again anywhere on-screen to suction them again. This two-step process counts as a single use. The best spot to grind these is Level 4-19. From the start of the level, tap and release the bottom two suction-cups (one from left and one from right). Once they fall and come to a stop, repeatedly keep tapping on both of them on screen as they hang until the achievements unlock. You are only limited by how fast you can tap!

14CLiGJhbC8XFQVOXVJQHDhhL2FjaC8wL2MAAAAA5+fn+MkW1g==.jpg Tummy Delight - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Feed Om Nom with 150 candies.

Om Nom is the green monster that you must get the candy into in order to complete the level. To unlock this achievement, you need to do so 150 times. Do not worry about grinding this achievement until you unlock almost all of the others. This will likely come while you progress through the game. If not, just load up Level 1-1. Slice the rope and let the candy fall into the monster’s mouth. As soon as it does so, restart the level and repeat until the achievement unlocks.

0oCLiGJhbC8QFQVOXVJQHDhhL2FjaC8wL2QAAAAA5+fn-Wv9Lw==.jpg Party Animal - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Launch 100 rockets.

This achievement requires that you launch 100 rockets. The best level to grind these on is 4-10. Right from the start of the level, 9 rockets will automatically launch themselves. As soon as the 9th rocket starts moving, restart the level. Repeat for about one minute until the achievement unlocks.

04CLiGJhbC8RFQVOXVJQHDhhL2FjaC8wL2UAAAAA5+fn-IsFvA==.jpg Photo Observer - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Find 4 hidden photos.

This achievement requires that you find 4 out of the 6 hidden photos in the game. The photos are hidden within the background of the levels. They look like wallpaper that is peeling off a tiny bit. You must simply tap the peeling area with your finger to collect the photo. The locations of each photo are given below (thanks to TNTJudBud!). As soon as you find 4, the achievement unlocks. You can exit each level as soon as you find a photo as you do not need to complete the level to save the progress.

  1. Magnifying glass - Level 1-14. It's on the top left side of the stage.
  2. Candy beaker - Level 2-19, above the second star.
  3. Books - Level 3-19. It's on the far right side of the stage
  4. Robot - Level 4-7. It's in the upper part of the level. Down and to the right of the green monster
  5. Bath Time - Level 5-23. On the right of the level.
  6. Om Nom And A Cactus - Level 6-17. It's found on the middle right of the level specifically the left hand side of the second robot.

0YCLiGJhbC8SFQVOXVJQHDhhL2FjaC8wL2YAAAAA5+fn-qoMCQ==.jpg Snail Tamer - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Grab snail 100 times.

This achievement requires that you tap the snail and make him fall from the candy 100 times. The best spot to grind these is Level 5-16. At the start of the level, a snail is already on your candy. Just tap the snail and instantly restart the level . Repeat as fast as you can until the achievement unlocks.

04CLiGJhbC9ECxpRGllSUjhhL2FjaC8wLzEwAAAAAOfn5-xRzoI=.jpg Deep Diver - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Get candy underwater 100 times.

This achievement requires that you get the candy to fall into the water 100 times. The best level to grind this on is 5-18. Just cut the rope and let the candy fall into the water (just breaking the surface). Restart the level and repeat until the achievement unlocks.

0oCLiGJhbC9FCxpRGllSUjhhL2FjaC8wLzExAAAAAOfn5-2xNhE=.jpg Robo Master - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png

Use robotic hand to catch 50 flying rockets.

This achievement requires that you use the robotic hand (only found in World 6) to catch a flying rocket 50 times. This can most easily be boosted on Level 6-23. From the start, tap the rocket and let it fly down and be caught by the robotic hand below. Instantly restart the level and repeat until the achievement unlocks. It will only take a minute. This achievement requires you to progress farthest through the game. Remember, in World 6 you can pause every level and skip to the next. You especially do not need to worry about any stars at this point.

Just a quick note & might be worth mentioning. In World 6 you don't even have to get any stars you can just skip all the way to Level 6-23 to get the achievement.

This will save a little more time if you hate it.

Thanks. I already have that mentioned in Step 1 of the Roadmap. Do you think there is somewhere else to include it as well? Cheers.

C'mon Arsenic, the green guy's name is On Nom. Calling him the green guy is like calling Mario the blue guy or Bayonetta the tall, deformed lady.

yeah not sure if that is sarcasm or what. But I was under the impression most would not know what om nom is so I just refer to him as the green monster! Om nom lol. What a dumb name!

Great guide, though I'd recommend to anyone needing deep diver, snail tamer, and 600 rope cuts, go to 5-18 first. You can grind all 3 easily and quickly, and it would've saved me an extra minute or two.

Those 3 and the rocket grabbing were the only achievements I had left after beating all levels with 3 stars. My completion time with all levels 3 stars and all achievements was about 2-3 hours. Super easy. Super fun, too. I love these physics puzzlers.

Also- Technically you can get Robo master earlier in world 6. Around level 15 or so you can start grabbing rockets, but I'll agree the best level for grinding is 6-23.

good tip for those three achievements. But your suggestion is not easy or fluid to add to the guide. Also you are right it is possible on 6-19. But as you mention that is a terrible level to grind. Cheers. Good to hear you did it in less than 3 hours.

Find 4 hidden photos.

This achievement requires that you find 4 out of the 7 hidden photos in the game. The photos are hidden within the background of a few of the levels. They look like wallpaper that is peeling off a tiny bit. You must simply tap the peeling area with your finger to collect the photo. The locations of each photo are given below (thanks to TNTJudBud). 2. Candy beaker - Level 2-19, above the second star.
  3. Books - Level 3-19. It's on the far right side of the stage
  4. Facebook - 'Like' the Cut the Rope Facebook group using the link in the Professor's Album for this photo. You do not actually have to like the page or even have a Facebook.
  5. Robot - Level 4-7. It's in the upper part of the level. Down and to the right of the green monster
  6. Bath Time - Level 5-23. On the right of the level.
  7. Om Nom And A Cactus - Level 6-17. It's found on the middle right of the level specifically the left hand side of the second robot

BTW, the Facebook one doesn't count towards this achievement - I just got it by getting levels 1-14, 2-19, 3-10 & Facebook (nothing popped), I then went to 4-7 and got touched that location and the achievement popped

that's odd becuase I know the Facebook one counted for me. I can't remember if it was the last one I got or not. It prob can't be the last one you collect cuz in the process it kicks you out of the game to the fb page

Thanks for the further confirmation. And yeah the game is so easy. No body really NEEDs a guide, but a lot of people feel comfort in having one available before and while playing it.

Ya but, it's good to know when a certain grinding level is coming up in the future...for instance I liked seeing that there was a better level coming up to grind on that I hadn't yet reached yet.

Just wanted to give a general thank you, not just for this game, but all the WP games youve done. I just got a WP about 6 months ago, and 200'd about 20 games, 90% of the guides were made by you

Good guide but not really needed as it is an easy 200g it's good for a point of reference which I have referred to for further info on specific achievements, I always read the guides before I start a game as it gives a clear indication, as did this guide so well done.

Nice guide... I definitely needed help on the secret pictures. :confused:

I found 1-25 to be a faster for Crazy Jumper over other levels. Drag both sliders all the way to the bottom, and the candy will rapidly bounce on the trampoline. You'll get 400 in a minute.
