Introduction:

Splinter Cell: Conviction's first substantial downloadable add-on may be "just" a map pack, but it's a solid piece of DLC. In fact, if you enjoy Conviction's excellent cooperative modes, the Deniable Ops Insurgency Pack is a must-play. These four standalone missions are even better than those included with the main game, filled with numerous nooks and crannies in which to hide, winding pathways and corridors useful for flanking, and dramatic opportunities to bring down your vocal foes. There are also nine achievements for a total of 250 gamerscore.

Step 1: Complete all DLC levels on Realistic

To begin, you'll want to complete each of the four DLC maps on Realistic. This will net you a total of 130 by unlocking the following achievements: Who Let The Docks Out?, Rise From the Graves, Just Free Yourself, Experimental Treatment, and Team Congratz. Having a good Co-Op partner will prove to be beneficial when completing each mission.

On the level, "Under Construction" you'll also want to aim for Demolition Crew. This must be done on Realistic and tasks you with destroying all the explosives in the last area of the mission.

Step 2: Replay the Portland, San Francisco, and New Orleans missions on Rookie

The last three achievements can be obtained on the Rookie difficulty but will require you to perform specific tasks during the other 3 missions. These will be very difficult compared to the other achievements, but with a Co-Op partner, they shouldn't be too hard. For King Of The Crypt and Thinking Inside The Box, you'll need to eliminate 12 enemies with hand-to-hand combat in the New Orleans, LA and San Francisco, CA missions respectively. Lastly, Watch The Soap tasks you with eliminating 18 enemies in a specific location of the Portland, ME map.

Conclusion:

Overall, the Insurgency DLC offers outstanding co-op play to Splinter Cell: Conviction. All nine achievements can be done in one sitting and will not be too difficult to obtain. Make sure to grab a good Co-Op partner in order to get the achievements with ease, while having fun on the brand new maps. This pack may sell for 800 Microsoft points ($10), but it is too good for Splinter Cell fans to miss.
